Kano Aoi (鹿野 葵)
CV: Terashima Takuma (寺島 拓篤)
Aoi is the leader of the date club, a womanizer, and the older of the Kano brothers. He loves to do naughty things and he’s confident to the point of being arrogant and clearly regards himself as a gift to women. He has the hobby of giving people insulting nicknames, like calling Nazuna a piglet. His love is the dangerous escalating type and he’s called the yandere prince.
The prologue is skipped and everything in the beginning is the same as it was in Wabisuke’s route. Nazuna is transferred to the school and meets Wabisuke, Fuji, Daria, and Seri. She finds that her luggage is missing and makes the terrible choice of accepting Aoi’s help. He takes her to the door where the Forbidden Dates Club resides and this is where Nazuna’s journey into the land of forbidden, or pure, love starts.
Nazuna thinks that this whole situation is suspicious, but it can’t be helped and so she mutters 「やっぱり、虎穴に入らずんば虎児を得ず、か」(As I thought, one may not catch a tiger cub without entering a tiger’s lair, huh) right before she goes in. However, before she can, Aoi bursts into laughter asking what she’s doing saying these indecent things all of a sudden. She looks at him in confusion and he continues chuckling while telling her that women shouldn’t do those things. Then he smirks and calls her interesting. She realizes in shock that he must have taken 「虎穴」(tiger’s lair) to mean something naughty.
She sighs at her situation and decides to just head in. In the clubroom she meets the rest of the date club members and they offer their help in locating her missing luggage. Atsumori looks at the time and mentions that they should all head out now and Aoi adds that today is a special full course. Nazuna is suspicious of all of them and troubled, but she decides to stay silent and follow them because she doesn’t want to be rude if they really do know where her luggage is. She tells them that she understands and asks them where they’re going.
Seri pouts and mutters about how her reaction is boring. When she looks at him in confusion he explains that he thought she would be a promising female student, but instead it looks like she’s just a simpleton. Nazuna wonders in alarm if they’re tricking her after all and realizes that she can’t trust in these people. Atsumori interrupts them and orders everyone to head out. In the rose gardens, the chime rings and Nazuna has to go through each and every one of the date club members like in Wabisuke’s route.
Everything else happens just as it does in Wabisuke’s route with Nazuna falling into debt with the date club and them coming up with the bet that she has to date one of them without falling in love. If she wins then her debt is forgotten and Wabisuke is freed, but if she loses then they’ll keep Wabisuke. She chooses Aoi as her opponent for the first date. SO IT TOOK UNTIL CHAPTER 5 OF WABISUKE’S ROUTE FOR NAZUNA TO LOSE HER FIRST KISS.. AND TO AOI NO LESS ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ I WONDER HOW LONG IT’LL TAKE HER TO LOSE HER FIRST KISS IN AOI’S ROUTE.
Aoi’s first words to her on their date is that she was right in choosing him. Nazuna just ignores him and wonders why he took her into the forest since there’s nothing here. Then Aoi asks her if there’s anything she wants to do on their date and when he sees her surprised face he just sighs and comments on how she’s seriously a piglet who doesn’t know anything. Nazuna calls him rude in a stuttering voice and tells him that she does have things she wants to do on a date and he teases her by saying 「男とただ歩いたぐらいで、デートとか言ってたりしてな。」(Like a date that involves just walking beside a man?).
Nazuna bites her tongue at that and thinks in angrily in her head 「それが、普通じゃないの！」(Isn’t that normal!?). At any rate, Aoi just shrugs and says that he’s fine with it and then he tells her to come to him before suddenly taking her hand. She instantly blushes at this and feels her heart skip a beat. He’s smirking as he asks her if their hand holding is making this moment more heart fluttering. Nazuna tells him to shut up with a stutter.
Aoi just smirks and says 「正直だなぁ・・・お前。」(Honest.. aren’t you?) and then 「幸せで死にそうって顔してるくせによぉ。」(Even though you have this expression of being happy to the point of death). With a blush still on her face she asks him what he’s saying, but he just whispers to her that he’s looking forward to the thing from before. She stares at him in alarm and so he chuckles before saying quietly 「クク・・・ッ。お前の反応って、面白ぇのな。」(Kuku… Your reaction is interesting). Finally, Nazuna tells him not to ridicule her.
Then she asks him what they’re doing here in the forest, which leads to him laughing before he tells her that they’re here to do this. She blinks in confusion and then he pushes her down onto the ground. Nazuna squeals in surprise before asking him what he’s trying to do and this makes him ask her lowly if she’s that much of an idiot that she doesn’t understand from this. Then he tells her that the best kind of relationship is a woman who doesn’t fall in love quickly. Nazuna looks at him with alarm and asks him if he’s lying before telling him to let her go.
He laughs at her and mocks her by asking her what she’s trying to do and if that was all her strength. Nazuna can’t believe that he hasn’t budged at all even though she’s trying to break his grip on her arms. Aoi calls for her attention by saying softly 「なあ、なずな」(Na, Nazuna) and she panics at seeing his face come closer, but then he just asks her if she isn’t approaching him for excitement. Nazuna tells him that there’s no such way she’d do that and so he just sighs and calls her a boring girl.
Then Aoi tells her in a matter-of-fact way that other women would be crying with delight by now. She tells him that she doesn’t want to, but he just ignores her and mutters lowly for her to be good and stay restrained like that. Nazuna starts to get tears in her eyes due to her fear and Aoi just laughs and comments on how her nervous facial expression is lovely. She realizes in despair that she’s starting to cry, but Aoi just hums thoughtfully and then tells her that if she begs him while crying then he’ll do things gently.
Nazuna calls out his name and Aoi responds with 「可愛いぜ？そういうの。」(Isn’t it cute? Like that) and then he prompts her to say the rest and so she begs him with 「お・・・お願い・・・。」(Pl.. please..). He laughs at that and this makes her realize that she hates this situation. She can’t lose here and she shouldn’t cry either! She ends up yelling out that she’ll never fall in love with a person like him. She also tells him that she hates him a lot. Aoi’s response is to be shocked and he’s also so surprised that he doesn’t have anything to say to that. Nazuna thinks about how she’s scared still, but she’ll won’t allow herself to lose.
Aoi’s voice is low and dangerous as he asks her what’s with her words. When she doesn’t respond his voice is flat as he asks her who the hell she thinks she is and then he sighs while saying that this is boring. Finally, his voice raises in anger as he tells her not to bullshit him. Nazuna looks at him in confusion, but all Aoi says is 「もういい。めんどくせぇ。」(Whatever, that’s enough. How annoying) in an emotionless tone. He releases her roughly and she notices that he seems to have become strange all of a sudden.
However she suddenly realizes that she can’t stand because her foot is trembling so hard. Aoi asks her lightly what she’s doing and when she doesn’t answer he notes how it seems she left out the fact that she has a weak backbone, in the sense that she has no confidence, before chuckling. Nazuna flinches at the fact that he’s laughing at her when he knows that she can’t move and she decides that he really is a cruel person. Aoi orders her to repent for her previous words by falling in love with him wantonly and being unable to live without him from now on.
Nazuna’s jaw drops in shock, but he ignores her and continues on by saying 「良かったなぁ。オレ様のこと大好きになれるんだぜ？」(Aren’t you glad? Since you’re falling in love with someone like me). He tells her that he thinks she’d be happy. Nazuna is wondering with shock what he’s saying and if he’s being serious with these words and so she asks him if he doesn’t think that what he’s saying is weird. This just makes Aoi yell angrily 「・・・はぁ？なんだとテメェ！」(.. Ha? What did you say, you bastard!) and he adds that he doesn’t say things meaninglessly.
When she tries to interrupt he snaps at her to shut up and tells her that 「オレ様が決めたことは絶対なんだよ！誰がなんと言おうと関係ねぇ！」(What I decide is absolute! I don’t care about what anyone else says). He adds that he’ll crush anyone who tries to give him orders. ಠ_ಠ I GET THAT THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF HIS ROUTE.. BUT WHAT A SNOB. JUST GO BACK TO YOUR PERVERTED WAYS AOI BECAUSE THIS ISN’T ATTRACTIVE AT ALL. He tells her that he’s only letting her say whatever she wants right now, since it seems like she’s going to become reliant on him. She asks him what he thinks he’s saying and that she won’t become like that, but he tells her to shut up again.
His voice is tired as he finally says that he’s had enough and he’s heading home. Nazuna grits her teeth since it looks like he’s leaving her behind, but then he exhales loudly and comes back to her. He notes that they’re still on a date and so he tells her softly that 「最後くらい、優しくしてやるよ。」(Until the last moment, I’ll be kind) and gives her his hand to help her up. Nazuna thanks him quietly and then thinks in her head with a smile that he might have a nice side inside of him after all and thinks that she might have to fix her view of him.
However, she spoke too soon and he whips his hand away while saying roughly 「なんてな。」(Not) and she gasps in surprise as she falls back down. Aoi bursts out laughing at this before telling her with a smirk 「じゃーな、子ブタちゃん。勝手に帰れよ。」(See you later, piglet. Find your own way home). He laughs as he walks off leaving her to stare at his back in shock. She can’t believe his attitude and yells out that he’s the worst.
She manages to make it back to her room and has the same thoughts as in Wabisuke’s route about the bet that she’s involved in. She also wonders about what Atsumori and Aoi would do if she chose to date her brother since she’d never fall in love with him. The rest of the route continues as normal with her meeting the teachers and getting the charm from Kakeru that will protect her from bad things.
When the two Kano brothers come into class to ask her to come with them to play, Nazuna realizes that nothing she says will deter them and she doesn’t want to cause trouble for her class either. So she agrees obediently and tells them that she’ll go and so they should be quiet. This makes Aoi exclaim in surprise, which makes her flinch in surprise too, and so he pouts and says 「素直じゃん。なんだよ、もっとこう・・・抵抗とかしねぇの？」(You’re so mean. What’s with that? Be more like.. aren’t you going to resist?). He tries to mimic her voice and says 「イイカゲンニシテヨ！とか？」(Cut it out! Or something like that?).
Nazuna tells them that she knows they’ll be delighted if she puts up a fight and this makes Aoi hum thoughtfully before complimenting her on how amazing she is for knowing them so well. He asks her 「お前、魔法使いかぁ？すごすぎ！！」(Are you a witch? That’s really amazing!!). NO AOI.. YOU’RE JUST PREDICTABLE AND AN IDIOT (＾∀＾；). Nazuna just sighs and thinks about how she’s tired now. Anyway, the three of them go to the clubroom and the harassment takes place as normal with Atsumori trying to feed her a drug, which turns out to be his chocolate, and Seri catching them in the act.
When Seri tells the two Kano brothers about the blackmail that he has, Nazuna steps in to protect them and asks Seri if he could remain quiet about their secrets. He asks her flatly if she knows what she’s doing and she tells him that she does. Then he just tells her that there’s no room for compassion here. Nazuna realizes that she’s a bit slow in the head if she’s defending these two, since who knows what they would have done to her.
The rest of the club members come in and when Fuji asks Nazuna about what kind of punishment she wants to give out to them, she remains silent for a bit and then tells him that she doesn’t think that the punishment is an important thing. She tells him that she’ll just be more careful next time. Fuji is surprised and remarks on how she’s a good kid for having a lot of generosity since she forgives them and forgives herself.
He tells her that people who don’t forgive accumulate their sins rapidly. Nazuna just blinks in surpise at being complimented by him. Anyway, then she tells them that she’ll think about the punishment over the next few days and the rest of the day continues on like in Wasabi’s route. Wabisuke walks her home and has his mysterious phone call.
Dessert time! Aoi is remembering the time that he pushed her down and how she had amazing eyes. He’s laughing in his head at how challenging she is and how interesting this is. He notes how she doesn’t even to seem to know her position and so he tells her, in his head, to think about her own social status. He thinks of her as an idiot who studies so much and then comments on how a good girl like her wouldn’t know about the fun things that they could do. Then he thinks about how her attitude and how that makes him want to do more things to her, but then he wonders if she knows that and that’s why she’s doing it.
He scoffs in his thoughts and decides that there’s no way a person like her would do that sort of thing. He makes fun of her for being so clueless about taking a walk through the forest. His thoughts return again to the moment where she was on the ground and he talks about how irresistible it was when her challenging eyes became frightened. He muses on what a good atmosphere that was and how those faces are tempting on a woman. Well, from now on he’s going to have fun and make her show him more of her expressions.
Blackout! It starts with Aoi telling someone to take it off and then he tsks in exasperation before ordering the person to stay still. There’s the sound of clothes rustling and then he hums lowly asking what he should do to her. He makes a remark about how she really fits his type and then there’s more rustling clothes before he asks her how it is and chuckles while noting how happy she looks. His voice drops into a low tone as he asks how she feels and if it doesn’t feel good. His next words are about how he loves doing this and he asks her if she does too.
There’s the sound of something metal jangling and then he tells her not to be so impatient and comments on how happy she looks. He tells her that she’s a good girl in a husky voice, but then everything returns back to normal and it turns out that he’s taking his dog for a walk or did and is trying to put the leash on and the dog clothes. AOI AND HIS ROUGH WAY OF SPEAKING MAKES TRANSLATING THIS INSANELY HARD (´～｀).
*** CHAPTER 2 ***
Everything is the same as in Wabisuke’s route with Nazuna waking up and feeling refreshed and determined to take things at her own pace. She ends up in the clubroom where she finds Aoi sleeping and so she takes her revenge on him by taking a picture of his sleeping face. She snickers as she takes pictures of his face and mutters quietly at him to make more strange faces. Atsumori sneaks up behind her as usual and takes her phone while telling her that if she’s going to do a prank like this she needs to make it worse. He’s going to upload Aoi’s sleeping face onto the school’s forums.
Nazuna is surprised and tells Atsumori to wait because she doesn’t want her phone to upload something like that and Aoi pipes up from beside Atsumori asking her if she didn’t upload it. This surprises Nazuna who asks him how long he had been awake for, but then she turns her attention back to Atsumori and demands her phone. He grumbles at how annoying she is but finally uploads it under her name and hands it back. She stutters in outrage at why he did that.
On the other hand, Aoi is full of excitement as he tells them that he’ll check it out later since he’s never seen his sleeping face before. This causes Nazuna to tell him to be more disagreeable with what’s happening. She wonders frantically what she should do, because at this rate everyone will really think that she’s going out with both of the Kano brothers. Daria comes in commenting on the liveliness and is unsurprised to find the three of them to be the cause.
Fast forward past meeting Seri at the library and hearing cryptic statements from him to meeting Suou and also hearing cryptic comments from him. Now, Nazuna has to decide on the punishment for the Kano brothers and she decides to force them to cosplay. Daria is excited at the idea and comments on how wonderful it is and asks Nazuna to let her pick out the costumes. She giggles maliciously after mentioning that she has a lot of provisions, since she’s from the drama club. Atsumori tells her not to choose anything outrageous and Aoi adds in that jangling things and glittery things are also unacceptable. She just continues laughing.
Aoi finally says in a shuddering voice 「こええ・・・嫌な予感がする。他の方法にしろよ・・・。」(Scary.. I have a terrible premonition. Can’t you think of something else..?) and then he adds that if it’s like this then only Daria is pleased. Nazuna thinks about it and then decides on making them participate in the halloween party then. Her idea is accepted and expanded on by making it a competition. Whoever receives the most candies from the school population wins, but of course the Kano brothers want a prize for the winner.
Nazuna tells them that the prize will be a pat on the head from her. Seri exhales in surprise and then repeats her words slowly. She’s surprised to notice that Seri had a reaction to her words and that his reaction is to become unhappy. Then Aoi comes up with the idea of the winner receiving a kiss from her and everyone agrees to it, except for Nazuna and Wabisuke of course. For her second date she chooses Aoi again and they start off at the clubroom.
Aoi tells her that today’s date has to end early. Nazuna tells him that she doesn’t mind, but asks him why and he explains that he has an appointment after this. She looks at him curiously and asks him what his appointment is, which makes him sigh in exasperation before he tells her that it’s another date. Nazuna repeats the word date and then finally realizes that this means the moment he’s done his date with her he’s going to another woman. She angrily asks him if his actions aren’t a little callous.
His response is 「ああ？なんでオレ様がお前に気ィ遣わなきゃなんねぇんだよ？」(Aa? Why should I worry about you?). Nazuna is stunned at his words, and he chuckles at her, which makes her say to him heatedly that she thought he wanted to make her fall in love with him and that if he was then he needs to take her feelings into account. Aoi loses the smile on his face as he tells her in a matter-of-fact way that it’s inevitable for her to fall in love with him. That’s why there’s no reason for him to move his schedule around for her sake.
Nazuna is just silent before sighing heavily in her mind and she tells herself to stop thinking about this now. She brightens up when she realizes that if Aoi can easily leave her for other women then there’s no way that she can see herself falling for him. She’s brought out of her thoughts by Aoi calling her name and then he tells her that since they don’t have much time they’re just going to have their date inside the clubroom. She’s surprised and asks him slowly if this can even be called a date then, and he tells her not to have such a bored face.
Aoi’s voice drops as he says 「時間がない分、オレ様がサービスしてやるからよ。喜べ。」(In the minutes that we have left, I’ll do you a service. Be grateful). Nazuna is a little alarmed and asks him what kind of service and stiffens in shock when he sits down really close to her on the sofa. She asks him what he’s doing and he tells her flatly that they’re having a date. She becomes even more uncomfortable and starts blushing when he drapes an arm around her shoulders and she tries to protest it, but Aoi just asks her lowly 「なんだよ、恥ずかしいのか？」(What is it, are you embarrassed?).
She stubbornly tells him that she isn’t, but in her thoughts she’s freaking out at how he’s whispering this in her ear. This is something Aoi catches on to as he hums 「フーン？耳、赤いぜ？」(Hmm? Your ears are red) which makes Nazuna say forcefully that it’s because he’s chattering in her ears. Aoi chuckles and asks her if that’s really the only reason. She doesn’t have a response to that and so he continues on to say that if she’s unaffected then if she liked she could sit on his lap. Nazuna tells him not to joke around like that and he just sighs while muttering about how she has no sense of humor. NAZUNA IS SO CUTE HERE WITH HER CONFLICTING THOUGHTS (*´ω`*).
Then he muses on how it’s probably too fast for her anyway and this makes her ask him what he means in an alarmed voice, but he just points out that she’s already trembling from him just having his arm around her shoulders. She tells him that such a thing isn’t happening and justifies to herself that she’s only embarrassed because he’s sitting so close, but she realizes that if she runs away from this then it’ll look like she lost and she doesn’t want to lose. Aoi breaks her out of her thoughts by asking her in annoyance why she became silent all of a sudden.
Nazuna tells him that it’s nothing and then asks, as normally as she can, if they’re just going to spend the rest of today’s date talking. Aoi hums thoughtfully and says that it seems so, but then he adds with a smirk that he wouldn’t mind if they decided to do something else though. When Nazuna blinks in surprise he whispers 「サービスするって言ったしなぁ？」(Didn’t I say I was going to service you?) and she freaks out in her mind when she feels him breathing on her neck. She quickly tells him that she’s fine with just talking and asks him if it isn’t fun.
Aoi asks her if that’s true in a distracted voice and Nazuna notices that he’s glancing at the clock. He tells her that he doesn’t have anything he wants to ask or talk to her about and when she asks him in an outraged voice what he means by that, he explains that women often say that just looking at his face is time well spent and then he adds 「一緒にいるだけで幸せ、みたいな？」(It’s a “So long as we’re together I’m happy” kind of thing). Nazuna just stares at him in silence and thinks that it’s true that he looks really cool, but when he’s so close to her she doesn’t want to look at his face.
She notices that he’s looking at the time again, but he quickly directs his attention back to her and asks her 「なずな、鎖につながれるのとつなぐのだったら、どっちが好み？」(Nazuna, which do you prefer? Tying people up or being tied up?). Nazuna exclaims in shock at his words and asks him why he’s suddenly asking her this question.
Aoi just tells her that he doesn’t have interest in any other topic and then adds 「オレはお前のこと、つないでやりてぇんだけど。」(However, I want to tie you up). Nazuna tells him that it would be embarrassing. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ DON’T SAY THOSE KINDS OF THINGS TO ME AOI OR I’LL DIE BEFORE I CAN FINISH YOUR ROUTE.
This makes Aoi mutter 「んだよ、その反応。たまんねぇ。」(What’s with that reaction. It’s irresistible). His voice returns to normal as he asks her with a smirk 「オレ様に可愛がられると思うと、ゾクゾクするだろ？」(To be thought of as cute by me, does it make you thrilled?).
Nazuna tells him not to say anymore weird things and Aoi laughingly says that it’s not weird. Then he tells her that it’ll be fun and they should do it next time. She raises her voice in protest, but notices him looking at the time again and she starts frowning. Nazuna is curious about his next date but feels reluctant to ask him.
Some time passes and suddenly Aoi stands up, which surprises Nazuna before she realizes that it must be time, and he tells her that he’ll see her later. She looks at him silently and he stares back just as silent before suddenly snickering. When she looks at him in confusion he explains that he loves the face of a woman who is driven mad by envy and has her heart tempted by sadism. Nazuna exclaims in shock that she wasn’t making that kind of face. Aoi just chuckles and points out that she can’t see herself.
Nazuna thinks in her head that he must be lying, because she can’t believe that she was making that kind of face. His voice is husky as he says under his breath 「いいぜ、なずな。」(That’s good, Nazuna) and when she looks at him in confusion he simply says that he managed to see an interesting face of hers. Then he tells her 「オレに可愛くおねだりできれば、次のデートには行かねぇよ。」(If you’re able to entreat me cutely, I won’t go to my next date). She stutters and asks him what he means by entreat him, but he just tells her 「ホラ、『行かないで』って言ってみな？」(Here, try to say “Please don’t go”).
She’s stuttering again as she asks him why she has to say that kind of thing and he explains that if she doesn’t say it then her date will end. Her heart thumps and she wonders with alarm if she’s actually feeling lonely and so she opens her mouth to try and say something, which makes Aoi cock his head curiously at her. OMHYOKSH THE “HM?” NOISE HE DOES HERE IS SO DAMN SEXY (*´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ. She loses her voice again as she thinks about how she can’t do such an embarrassing thing, but letting him go is making her feel vexed too.
Aoi helps her along by casually mentioning 「まあ、お前にそんなことできるワケねぇか。」(Ma, it’s not like you can do it). His reasoning is that since she’s a studious honor student, she probably doesn’t have a cute side to bring out. Nazuna is insulted at his words and tells him angrily that she can be cute. This makes her fall right into his trap and he tells her smugly to entreat him. She’s silently glaring at him and so his voice becomes low as he says to her 「何睨んでんだよ。ホラ、言えって。」(What are you glaring for.. Hey, say it). HNNG STOP USING YOUR LOW VOICE TERASHII.
Nazuna gives in and entreats him not to go, but he just scoffs and asks her what that was before telling her to do it properly and say it while looking at his face. Nazuna is blushing really hard at this point and she grits her teeth while thinking that she wants to die because this is so embarrassing. Aoi’s voice is gentle as he says 「ホラ、もっかい。」(Here, once again) and so she says it again, but he just sighs and tells her flatly that it’s completely lacking. Her response is simply 「はあ！？」(What?!). He orders her to be more cute.
He changes the words this time around and tells her to say that she doesn’t want him to go to another woman. Finally, Nazuna snaps and asks him if he’s an idiot. Aoi just grumbles and tells her not to get angry before adding 「マジで色気ねぇヤツだな。」(You seriously have no sex appeal). She angrily asks him what he just said but then realizes that at this rate she’s going to get abandoned and so he breaks down and says as cutely and as seriously as she can. Her words are 「葵君・・・他の人のところになんか行かないで・・・一緒にいて？お願い・・・。」(Aoi-kun.. don’t go to other people.. can we stay together? Please…).
Aoi stares at her silently and Nazuna wishes herself good luck in her head, but finally he says 「やりゃあできんじゃん。」(What do you know, you actually did it). She’s surprised, especially when he pats her head and adds in a soft voice 「可愛いぜ、なずな。」(That was cute, Nazuna). Then his voice becomes really energetic as he tells her that he’s going to head off now. She scrambles after him and calls for him to wait before asking if he didn’t say that he was going to stay. Aoi stops and tells her that he doesn’t have to protect a promise that he made with someone like her. Σ(ﾟДﾟ；) PROMISE BREAKERS ARE NOT COOL. SCRATCH THAT.. SNOBBY PEOPLE AREN’T.
Nazuna manages to return back to her room safely and the day ends just like in Wabisuke’s route. She still has that dream about her brother leaving her to find their parents or something and she wakes up calling for him only to find Aoi hovering above her in her bed. The rest of the scene happens as normal with the two Kano brothers being adorable idiots and trying to list the things a person could do in bed. Anyway, Nazuna kicks Aoi off the bed and when he starts making pained noises she quickly expresses concern over him.
He grits his teeth and makes more pained noises and so she keeps saying his name worriedly. She didn’t push him that hard and so she’s surprised that his pallor looks bad, even though he tells her in a strained voice that he’s fine. Then when she says his name again he drops the act, which makes her tell him angrily not to play those kinds of jokes. Anyway, today is the halloween party and the rest of the day continues on as normal with her meeting the teachers and then going to the clubroom. She eats the candy and runs away so that she doesn’t have to kiss anyone.
Dessert time! Aoi is pissed at Nazuna’s actions. He was praised by other girls and had collected a lot of candy too. He asks her if she didn’t want to kiss anyone, but then angrily orders her to stop kidding around because of course she’d want to kiss him. He tsks sharply because just remembering it makes him angry. He grumbles about it some more since he even gave her such brilliant service on their date. In the end, what he managed to achieve was nothing. He scoffs and thinks about how he’s seriously annoyed now.
But then he recalls that, just before she popped her candy into her mouth, their eyes met. Aoi asks her in his thoughts about how that moment was her wavering in her perfection, wasn’t it? And that truthfully, she wanted to kiss him. He starts laughing before commenting on how she’s such a cute piglet. He tells her that he knows she’s just pretending to be tough. His last thoughts are about trying it again.
Blackout! It completely sounds like a yaoi scene between Aoi, Fuji, and Suou. Aoi is struggling and making panting noises, while angrily snapping at how they’re not allowed to do this and how they shouldn’t think that they can keep him down. Suou coldly asks him if he’s brave enough to continue glaring at him like that, while Fuji is sighing and mutters about how stubborn Aoi is. There’s some grunting noises as Aoi tries to free himself from between the two and then he tells them that he doesn’t want to do it and that he won’t let them.
He starts to freak out when he notices Fuji approaching and tells him not to come closer and that it’s impossible. He repeats the word impossible a few times and then the scene is revealed to show Fuji treating Aoi for a wound and needing Suou to hold him down. IT.. WASN’T REALLY SUGGESTIVE. NONE OF THEM WERE USING THEIR SEDUCTIVE VOICES AND WERE JUST TALKING NORMALLY ┐(ﾟ～ﾟ)┌.
*** CHAPTER 3 ***
The chapter follows the same path as the one in Wabisuke’s except this time Nazuna guesses that it’s probably the Kano brothers who are in her room, though she’s surprised that they managed to somehow get into her locked room. She hesitates to enter inside and then Fuji sees her in the hallway and ends up going into the room to check it out for her. The rest of the scene plays out as normal.
Nazuna chooses to drink the syrup this time around and takes a large gulp from it, but for some reason her head starts spinning and Fuji asks her if she’s alright in concern. She suddenly loses the power to stand and collapses with her brother and Fuji crowding around her in concern. The rest of the scene continues on as normal with Kazuya wondering where his syrup went.
When Daria yells at Nazuna not to be familiar with her, Nazuna tries to cheer her up by saying that she’s looking forward to the drama club and wishes Daria good luck. However, Daria asks her if that’s sarcasm and Nazuna thinks that it might have been better if she didn’t say anything at all. At any rate, Aoi and Daria have an argument with one another and Wabisuke interrupts as usual. Now it’s time for Nazuna to choose her opponent again.
Nazuna’s third date with Aoi starts at the school’s cafeteria. He asks her if she’s ever eaten the pudding at the cafe and when she tells him that she hasn’t, he recommends it since it’s popular. He also recommends the parfait since he eats it a lot, but then says that in the end she should choose what she loves to eat since everyone’s preferences are different. He smiles at her and says softly that he’ll treat her, which makes her blush and wonder why he’s suddenly smiling so beautifully at her.
She thanks him with a smile and thinks that even though he’s as overbearing as he always is, he can do nice things too. She optimistically wonders if he had a change of heart and then Aoi informs her that the parfait has arrived. She’s happy at how delicious it looks and starts eating it while thinking about how it’s surprising to have such a normal date with him. Nazuna suddenly notices Aoi staring at her silently and asks him about it, only for him to request a taste of her parfait. He grabs her hand that has the spoon and feeds himself from it, which makes her turn red because she realizes that it’s an indirect kiss.
He compliments the parfait’s sweetness and then asks her in a kind voice if anything’s wrong. She tells him that it’s nothing and then tries to calm herself down by saying that it can’t be helped if they ate from the same spoon. Aoi asks her why she’s eating her parfait with such a red face and she tells him once again that it’s nothing, which makes him hum thoughtfully.
Nazuna tries to eat faster and this makes Aoi laugh and comment on how quickly she’s devouring it. He asks her if she doesn’t want to eat it slower, but she tells them that it’s too delicious. This is a lie, of course, but she doesn’t want him to know the truth.
Suddenly, he laughs at her and tells her that there’s something at the corner of her mouth. Her heart skips a beat when he wipes her lips with his finger and tells her that it’s cream. Then he licks his finger and tells her in a low voice 「ん・・・甘い。」(Nm.. delicious). Nazuna is freaking out in her head telling him not to lick it.
Aoi notices her reaction and asks her what’s wrong, but she tells him that it’s nothing. He smirks at that and says 「あ、そーか。もっと、直接舐めてほしかったんだろ？」(Ah, I see. Would it have been better to taste it directly?) and this makes Nazuna exclaim in shock about how they’re in public.
Aoi snickers and says 「ククク・・・ッ、マジでイイ反応。」(Kukuku.. that was a good reaction) and then he adds in playful voice 「なぁ、見せつけてやろうぜぇ？」(Na, let’s give them a show~). He says something about how the only person that monopolizes himself is himself and Nazuna asks him what he’s saying, especially since it’s an oversimplification. So then he says 「ああ、じゃあ後でふたりっきりになったときに、たっぷりとなぁ？」(Aa, then later when we’re alone together with ample time). Nazuna stutters about how that’s what the problem is, but Aoi interrupts and mentions that he”s fine anyway since he got to see her happy face while eating.
Nazuna is shocked and then thinks about how Aoi is being really nice today. Her heart can’t stop pounding because of how she’s able to have this kind of friendly date with him. She thinks that it almost resembles the things that couples close to each other do and then she wonders if she’s actually dreaming this whole thing up. HAHA YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE BECAUSE I’M GETTING SUSPICIOUS TOO.
Then she blinks in surprise, because for some reason she’s suddenly really sleepy. Aoi calls her name in a concerned voice and she apologizes to him for suddenly being so sleepy. He just responds with a smirk which she notes with surprise and then she loses consciousness. Σ(ﾟДﾟ；) DR-DRUGS!? HE’S BECOMING MORE YANDERE!
The next time she wakes up she’s surprised to find herself in her own room and on her bed. She wonders when she fell asleep and then she realizes abruptly that someone is beside her in bed. When she looks over and asks who it is in a sharp voice, she finds a naked Aoi who greets her with a slow smirk and a husky 「よぉ。」(Yo~). WH-WHAT THE HELL DOES HE THINK HE’S DOING? (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ~! She screams loudly at this and he winces before sharply telling her that she’s being noisy.
Nazuna is stuttering as she asks him what he’s doing and he shrugs while smirking and asks her what she thinks this is. She points out that he’s not wearing any clothes, but he just ignores her and says in a smug voice 「まあ・・・。これでお前は名実ともにオレの女だぜ？」(Maa.. with this you’re my woman in both name and reality). She’s stunned into silence and then quickly asks him what he means by that, but Aoi just laughs. I CAN’T DECIDE IF HE’S A GENIUS OR AN IDIOT Σ(＾∀＾；)!
Then she notices that her uniform is unbuttoned and when Aoi sees the realization strike her in the head, he smirks quietly. Nazuna doesn’t believe it and she can’t stop trembling at the thought of her and Aoi having had sex. Aoi asks her calmly 「よーく思い出してみろよ？ちょっとは憶えてるかもしれねぇぜぇ？」(Why don’t you try and recall it? You might be able to remember a little bit of it). Nazuna tells him sharply that it’s impossible and his voice carries a hint of amusement as he says 「その顔、そそるな・・・」(That face is arousing..). He also adds in a drawling voice that it’s a shame and a waste that she can’t remember them doing “that”.
She asks him what he did and he tells her to think for herself. Her voice is stuck in her throat and Aoi continues to chuckle beside her, which makes her finally whisper that he’s cruel. However, suddenly Aoi says 「・・・まぁ、これくらいでいいか。」(.. Maa, this should be good enough) and she looks at him in confusion.
He tells her that nothing happened. She voices her confusion and so he repeats that nothing happened again in an annoyed voice. Then she asks if that’s really true and he informs her that 「意識がない女を抱いてもつまんねぇだろ。」(Sleeping with an unconscious woman is boring). Nazuna is silent at that before remembering that she did fall asleep for some reason.
It finally occurs to her that he might have drugged the parfait and when she asks him that, he comments on how she finally noticed it. She also figures out that he was being kind to her to keep her from suspecting anything and he tells her that she’s correct before complimenting her intelligence.
She’s not pacified by his compliment though and angrily asks him why he did such a mean thing and tells him that he was being malicious. Aoi echoes her words 「意地悪、ねぇ・・・ククッ。」(Cruel, huh… hehe) and then he asks her 「お前さぁ、目ぇ覚ましたとき、一瞬でもオレと寝たと思っただろ？」(When you woke up, for an instant you thought I was asleep, didn’t you?). Nazuna tries to deny it but Aoi interrupts her.
His next words are said in a serious tone as he tells her that in that moment a spot appeared inside of her and it will never disappear. She parrots his words and he tells her 「そー。オレのこと、忘れらんなくなるだろ？」(Yes~. You won’t be able to forget me). Nazuna asks him if he’s saying that his existence is engraved inside her heart, but he just chuckles lowly. She notes that he has a strange smile and his next words are 「お前さっき、スゲー恥ずかしい妄想しちゃっただろぉ？」(Before, you were fantasizing something extremely embarrassing, weren’t you?).
Nazuna tells him that she wasn’t and he asks if she’s telling the truth, before telling her that if that’s the case then what kind of touch was she thinking of to make her show so much shock. Nazuna stutters out that it doesn’t matter and changes the subject by calling him weird for doing this. Aoi laughs and tells her that if she’d just let herself go, she would be more relaxed. She’s taken aback at his words and he chuckles at her expression. In her mind she’s trying to convince herself that her heart isn’t pounding and that she doesn’t like this situation.
Finally, she tells him to get out of her room and so he starts dressing himself. Right before he leaves, he chuckles again and tells her in a low voice 「クク・・・ああ、いいぜぇ？ひとりになって、オレ様のことを存分に思い出せよ。」(Hehe.. Aa, that’s fine. I’ll leave you alone to fantasize about me to your heart’s content). Nazuna has no response to this and then Aoi exits her room, leaving her unable to stop her trembling. CONSIDERING HE WAS NAKED IN HER BED.. SHE HAS A LOT TO FANTASIZE ABOUT (*´∀`*)えへへ.
The next day she meets Seri in front of her dormitories and he brings her to the clubroom for an emergency meeting. This is where Aoi tells everyone that they’re going to upstage the drama club by performing their own play. Nazuna is all for it this time and asks if she can be one of the leading roles, but everyone in the club shoots her down.
Even Wabisuke laughs nervously at the thought of her being the lead and so she glares at them all and calls them mean. The rest of the scene follows Wabisuke’s route, including Nazuna stopping the fight between Wabisuke and Daria in the forest at night.
Everything is still the same, even the play and Aoi pulling Nazuna out onto the stage. Nazuna also finds out from a book that Wabisuke lent her that he and Seri were the ones who were spreading photographs of her edited with the Kano brothers around the school to perpetuate the rumors that she was going out with them. Apparently, this is to make it so that she’d hate them more and wouldn’t want to be with them. It was Wabisuke who requested Seri to help him since he thought that Seri was the lesser of the two evils. THANKS TO RIN I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD THIS PART (＾∀＾；).
Dessert time! Aoi is cursing at Daria for beating him in their mock fight on the stage. He thinks that if they had fought normally then there was no way he would have lost, especially since Daria’s speciality is fencing. He continues to think about how angry this all makes him since he had planned for an interesting thing to happen. He thinks about how he had finally gotten Nazuna out onto the stage, but then a nuisance had to enter. Then his thoughts turn to how he blames all of this on Nazuna, because it’s all her fault that he’s in such a temper.
He won’t forgive her for making him feel these unpleasant emotions. He’s annoyed at how she can only see her studies and doesn’t try to reach for anything else. Then his thoughts take a darker turn as he notes that time to act is now and he’s going to play with her before he breaks her. Aoi starts laughing maliciously in his thoughts. (°Α°) SO LONG AS YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING PSYCHOTIC LIKE LOCK ME UP IN THE DUNGEONS UNDER.. I THINK I’LL BE OKAY. AND PLEASE.. NO MORE DRUGGING.
Blackout! It starts off with Aoi moaning and talkign about how he’s been kept waiting for this. He talks about how he can’t wait any longer and then there are licking sounds. His voice is husky as he says that he can finally taste it and then there are sounds of him kissing different parts. His voice is breathy as he talks about how sweet it is. It’s unbearable. Then he notes that it’s wet and asks when it ever became like that, but then after licking and sucking it some more he figures that it’s probably due to him.
He whimpers in delight at how sweet it is and then starts talking about how sweet it is over here, and there, and here too. Finally, it’s revealed that he’s eating a peach and he makes a pleasured noise at how this peach is so sweet that it’s irresistible. (≧∀≦) I DON’T THINK THE NOISES HE MADE WERE AS SEXY OR EROTIC AS THE ONES WABISUKE MADE IN HIS BLACKOUTS BUT AOI’S SUPER HAPPY VOICE AT GETTING TO EAT THE PEACH MADES ME SMILE AND GIGGLE SO HARD. IT SOUNDS SO DELICIOUS!
*** CHAPTER 4 ***
Nazuna’s monologue starts off this chapter and she talks about how she knows that her frantic denial is only covering up an affirmation. But she knows that if her feelings are noticed then she’ll lose the bet, therefore she can’t can’t allow anyone to know. However, this situation is strangling her neck bit by bit. She wonders if she can wash her feelings away and if that will make her feel at ease.
She wakes up to the sweet smell of flowers and thinks about how the smell is nostalgic, but the nostalgic feeling is kind of painful. She wonders if she had smelled it in the remote past. There’s the sound of someone softly breathing beside her, but she’s still stuck in her thoughts and notes that something feels soft like a kitten. Aoi’s voice is heard to sleepily mutter for her to stop it because it tickles and this is where she finally realizes that something is out of place. Beside her is a sleeping Aoi who is fully clothed this time.
Cue epic freak out. Nazuna is screeching in her mind asking why Aoi is here in her bed and sleeping beside her. She recalls that after their play finished she had returned to her room and fell asleep instantly, and she’s certain that she had been alone when she went to sleep. Aoi starts sleep talking some more and says in a slow sleepy voice for her to stop it because he’s weak there. He laughs softly in his sleep and mutters about how she seems to like that. She splutters in her mind with embarrassment when she realizes that he’s having a dodgy dream.
Aoi breathes out quietly and whispers about how it’s irresistible. Nazuna is alarmed and wonders if it would be best to wake him up. She decides to wake him up, even though she feels bad for it since he has such a peaceful sleeping face. She softly calls his name but he doesn’t wake at all and then he embraces her in his sleep and so his arm moves across her chest, which sends Nazuna into shock. Hilariously though, he mutters 「・・・硬い・・・」(.. flat…) in his sleep and she angrily thinks about how it’s not like she doesn’t have breasts.
Nazuna finally exhales loudly and wonders why things like this happen to her time after time again. Then she thinks about how Aoi managed to enter her room, since she’s sure that she locked it. Finally Aoi wakes up with a large yawn and she’s relieved before asking him in an annoyed voice why he’s here, but he just bursts out laughing after a period of silence. He asks her in a voice full of amusment what she’s trying to do making people laugh in the morning. When she asks him what he means he tells her, while trying to hold back his laughter, that her hair is like a bird’s nest.
He tells her in a teasing voice that she also has drool tracks. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ SO EMBARRASSING BUT THEY’RE LIKE A MARRIED COUPLE ALREADY. She stutters at him to stop it and he laughingly tells her that her face is bright red as well as her ears. She tells him not to mock her and then changes the subject to ask him why he’s sleeping in another person’s bed. He explains that he came to her late at night, but she just kept on sleeping dead to everything and so since he couldn’t wake her up he just decided to sleep beside her.
She wonders why the hell he would be coming into her room late at night and so she asks him if anything happened. She also realizes that her pajammas have rode up a little. Aoi answers her teasingly with 「どうだかなぁ？」(I wonder~..?) and then he adds that her snoring was really noisy and so he barely got any sleep. Nazuna angrily tells him not to complain when he’s the one who rudely climbed into her bed and then she tells him to stop joking around and get out.
Aoi smirks at this and tells her 「まあまあ、せっかくの朝のぬるーい時間だぜぇ？」(At any rate, the morning is a time for relaxing) and then he adds huskily 「もっと愉しまねえと。」(Enjoy it more). She shoves him away and he responds with 「っと、でも、まずはシャワー浴びるか。」(-to, but first a shower), which shocks since she’s wondering if he’s going to take his shower in her room. He invites her with a teasing smile 「お前も一緒に浴びるか？」(Do you want to shower together?). (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ STOP IT~!
Surprisingly, Nazuna tells him that she’s just going to wash her hair. He shrugs complacently at that, but then asks her with a wicked smirk if she’s fine with just washing her hair and adds that if it’s her wish he can make her beautiful by washing her whole body. She forcefully tells him no thanks. His voice is sly as he says 「遠慮しねぇでもいいんだぜぇ？クククッ・・・。」(You don’t have to be so reserved, kukuku..). She angrily asks in her head why she has to be reserved in her own room and then sighs at how terrible her morning is.
Time passes and Nazuna has been shuffling around in her room, not leaving for some reason. She asks herself what she’s doing since no one saw that scene with Aoi in her bedroom, but she can’t seem to bring herself to exit her room quickly. Suddenly someone knocks on her door saying that they’ve come to patrol and so she opens it happily thinking that it’s Fuji, but it turns out to be Suou and she’s stunned into silence. He comments on how she’s awake before smirking and saying 「どうした。そんなに私が現れたのが嬉しいか？」(What, are you that happy to see me?).
She stutters in surprise and he muses out loud 「嬉しくて声も出ないと言ったところか。その反応、嫌いじゃないぞ。」(It seems you’re so glad that you have no voice.. That reaction.. I don’t hate it). Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ I DIDN’T REALIZE HOW MUCH I NEEDED SUOU UNTIL HE APPEARED AGAIN! I’M SO TORN BETWEEN FANGIRLING OVER SUOU OR AOI RIGHT NOW.
She looks at him in confusion and wonders why he’s here. Suou’s smirk disappears and he tells her that he’s going to guess what she’s thinking about and that it’s about why Fuji isn’t here. She nods and Suou explains that Fuji has a cold and so that’s why he’s not patrolling.
He smirks again and tells her that she should just accept this situation thankfully and Nazuna agrees quietly, but in her head she thinks about how she doesn’t want to accept this situation quietly, since he has really bad timing because Aoi is in the shower! Aoi even starts humming in the shower, which makes Nazuna realize that if she stays silent then Suou will be able to hear Aoi’s voice and this is really bad, so she has to do something.
She tells Suou that she has something she’d like to talk to him about, but it’s difficult to say it in her room and so she’d like to go outside. Suou tells her that there’s no one here and asks her if it’s still too difficult to talk about it. Nazuna tells him that it is because she needs to say it in front of everyone and he narrows his eyes at her while noting how she’s being surprisingly bold. Nazuna thinks about how it can’t be helped since she has to get him out of here.
Suou agrees to her request but, before they leave, he asks her who she’s hiding in her shower. She flinches in surprise and he scoffs before asking her if she thought she could fool him. He also tells her that he can hear an idiot humming in her shower. Nazuna realizes that it was impossible to think that she could trick Suou, and he asks her if she doesn’t have an excuse to say. She apologizes and then he says 「私に歯向かうなんて愚か者の考えることだ。例えば・・・葵のような馬鹿のな？」(Only a fool would think to oppose me. For example… an idiot like Aoi, wouldn’t you agree?).
Nazuna watches in stunned silence as Suou slams the shower door open and enters. Aoi is still humming, but falls silent as he hears the door open. Thinking it’s Nazuna, he asks 「何入ってきてんだよ・・・まさか、やっぱお前も一緒に浴びたいのかぁ？」(What are you entering for.. could it be that you want to shower together after all?) and Suou smirks at this. Aoi chuckles before saying 「ククッ、お前も意外にだいた・・・。」(Heh, you’re surprisingly–), but he cuts himself off with a yell of surprise and runs out into her room in his boxers.
Aoi asks her in a terrified voice why Yamato is here, but Suou follows him out and says dangerously 「ファーストネームで呼ぶな、このクソガキめ。私の神聖な名が汚れる。」(Don’t call me by my first name, you damn brat. You’ll dirty the holiness of my name). Suou mentions that he had been wondering where Aoi had walked off to and that he’s an idiot. Aoi snaps back and tells him to shut up, because it’s his own decision to do what he wants and go where he wants. This makes Suou ask him lowly if he really thinks that and this makes Aoi flinch before he tells Suou to shut up again, but there’s no energy in his voice.
Nazuna is curious about what they’re talking about but she becomes distracted and tells them that Aoi will catch a cold if he doesn’t put more clothes on. Suou agrees and tells him that it’ll be a bother if Aoi catches a cold, but then he adds that 「まあ、もっとも、お前は私を困らせたいのかもしれんがな。」(Ma, but then, you might be wanting to cause trouble for me). Aoi just curses under his breath while Nazuna notes that Suou’s words seem to have a hidden meaning. However, Aoi notices her thoughtful gaze and he asks her what she wants in a flat voice before he smirks and says 「オレの裸、見たいのかぁ？」(Did you want to see my bare body?).
This snaps her out of her thoughts and she blushes while yelling out that he’s wrong, but he just says 「いいんだぜぇ？後でもっと色々見せてやっても。」(It’s fine~. Later, I’ll show a lot of things). For once Suou raises his voice in anger and says 「この馬鹿者！くだらんことは言ってないで、さっさと服を着ろ！」(This idiot! Don’t say idiotic things, and quickly put on some clothes!) before he cuffs Aoi over the head. Aoi winces and grumbles out 「ってぇえ！んだよ！このドS!」(That hurt! What the hell! You sadist!). Suou just tells him flatly 「ドSではない、超ドSだ。」(I’m not just a sadist, I’m an extreme sadist). Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ カッコイイ! SUOU IS SO SMOOTH~!
Aoi yells at him not to say it proudly like that, but Suou just tells him that it doesn’t matter since it seems like no matter how many times he warns Aoi, it seems like he wants to receive punishment. Aoi flinches at this and tells him that he’s wrong, but Suou ignores him and tells him to come to his confession room. Aoi freaks out at this and asks him if he’s serious, to which Suou only chuckles darkly at. Nazuna asks them what they mean by confession and Aoi asks her, in a scared voice, if she doesn’t know about it.
She tells him that she doesn’t and they’re both interrupted by Suou who extends an invitation to her while chuckling. He tells her 「クククッ・・・それじゃあ、ご招待しようじゃないか。大歓迎するぞ？」(Hahaha.. then, how about an invitation? You’ll receive a warm welcome). Nazuna isn’t fooled at all and tells him that she’ll respectfully decline. Suou merely says 「おや、そうなのか。それはつまらないな。」(Oya, is that so. How boring) and then he puts on a sad face and tells her that he invited her, yet in the end it seems like it’ll just be Aoi. However, Aoi hastily tells him that he doesn’t need an invitation because he also wants to respectfully decline it.
Suou just tells Aoi not to make that kind of reluctant face, because it’ll just make him want to torment Aoi more. Suou says lowly 「楽しみにしているぞ？」(I’m looking forward to it) before he walks off with Aoi frantically telling Suou not to look forward to it, because he’s not looking forward to it. Nazuna wonders if it’s really that scary since Aoi is desperately trying to get out of it. At this point, Aoi collapses down onto her floor and whines about how this is the worst before he asks her why Suou was even in her room.
Nazuna explains about Fuji catching a cold and being unable to patrol and Aoi curses Fuji angrily and mutters about how next time the pervert should just endure it. Aoi sighs tiredly and mumbles out 「はぁ・・・ヤル気が削がれた。帰る。」(Ha.. my feeling of wanting to do it is gone. I’m going home) and then puts on his pajamas. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ THE FACT THAT IT’S WRITTEN HERE IN KATANA IMPLIES THAT HE’S TALKING ABOUT SEX. HE’S SAYING THAT HIS SEX DRIVE IS NOW GONE. He tells her that he’ll see her later and then he leaves.
She watches him go quietly and then wonders about why his body is covered in scars. She’s curious about what made them and how he got them, but she knows that she can’t ask him about them. At any rate, she goes to the library and thinks some more about the hidden meaning in Aoi and Suou’s conversation and how she thinks that Aoi is frightened of Suou’s confession room, but there might actually be another reason. Then she realizes that she’s thinking too much about the two of them when she isn’t even their friend. She reminds herself not to get close to them and decides to read a book to calm herself.
Suddenly Fuji appears and she greets him cheerfully before asking him about his cold, but this confuses him. She hesitates and mentions Suou’s name, but Fuji just looks at her in confusion, and she suddenly realizes that Suou must have known that Aoi was in her room and so he lied to her about Fuji catching a cold to give him a reason to enter her room. Fuji prompts her again by asking her what’s wrong and she quickly tells him that it’s nothing, before noting that it’s unusual to see him in the library.
He agrees with her awkwardly 「あー・・・うん。ちょっと、ね。」(Ah… yes. A little bit, huh) and she asks if he’s reading the newspaper. He tells her that he was, but now he’s going to return back to the infirmary. She watches him leave and then decides to read the newspapers herself. It talks about the world’s first organ transplant and how the parents donated their organs for their children, but behind the scenes there was a conflict for the family property. And there’s a fugitive that was a part of the conflict whose name was Renge Kazuya.
Nazuna gasps in shock when she reads about Kazuya, the physical education teacher, in this newspaper. Suddenly Aoi appears and asks her what she is doing since she has a stupid expression. She jumps in surprise at his voice and then quickly tries to hide the newspapers, but he’s already noticed them and asks her why she’s reading them since it makes her look like an old man. She asks him why reading newspapers makes someone an old man and he explains with a smirk that only old men read newspapers. Anyway, he changes the topic to why she’s hiding it.
She tells him that there isn’t much of a reason, but he just muses out loud about how he wants to see it the more that she hides it since it seems interesting. She hastily tells him that it isn’t and that there’s a lot of kanji, to which Aoi angrily asks her what she means by saying that there’s a lot of kanji. Nazuna hesitantly tells him that it makes the newspapers difficult and he tells her not to take him for being stupid, because he can read kanji. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ HIS INSULTED VOICE IS SO ADORABLE HERE.
Aoi grabs the newspapers from her, but she isn’t too worried about him reading it since there was no reason for hiding it really. It might even be something that only she didn’t know about, so he wouldn’t be surprised. However, Aoi gasps quietly and she calls his name since his pallor suddenly changed. His voice is flat and low as he asks her if she heard anything from Suou. Nazuna asks him about what she should have heard, but he just whispers that it’s nothing. Nazuna allows the subject to drop but she notes that Aoi is acting strangely.
Suddenly he curses and talks about how he was being careless with his situation. He quickly calls for Nazuna and tells her to run away. She tries to ask him what they’re supposed to be running from, but her arm is grabbed and she’s pulled along with him as he explains that it’s obvious they’re running away from Suou. He mutters about how if he’s found it’ll be bad. Nazuna remembers that it’s almost time for Aoi to go and meet with Suou, and then she tells him not to pull her hand since there’s no need for her to run away.
He tells her to shut it because she committed the same offence. Nazuna tells him that he has it all wrong, but is pulled along anyway. When they’re gone, the scene switches to Fuji who is still in the library. He sighs as he sees them leave and then mutters about how he was defeated and that he should probably apologize to Kazuya.
The two of them end up on the school rooftop and Nazuna asks if it wouldn’t be better for him to go to the confession room right now. She also thinks that they’ll be easily spotted up here. Aoi calls her an idiot and tells her that this is why she’s a piglet, because she doesn’t comprehend the terror of Suou’s confession room. Nazuna just sighs in her head because she thinks that it would be better if he stopped doing things like running away that would add more fuel to the fire, or basically add more punishment.
Aoi suddenly winces in pain and she asks him worriedly if he’s alright. He shakily tells her that he is before he notes that the sunlight is awfully strong today. Nazuna notices that his face is really pale, but wonders if it’s just because of the sun. At any rate, he tells her that they’re going to hide here first but he sounds completely out of breath. Nazuna asks him with a smile if it’d be alright if she wasn’t here, but he tells her that she’s not allowed. This makes her sigh and think of him as resembling an elementary student.
Nazuna tells him that her classes are going to start soon and so she’s leaving and tells her 「いいぜぇ。」(That’s fine) but then he adds 「このオレ様を動かせるもんならな。」(That is.. if you can move me). He suddenly lays his head in her lap and says 「まあ硬い枕だけどしばらく我慢してやるよ。」(Ma, this is a flat pillow but I’ll bear with it for a little while). She tells him not to randomly do things on his own convenience, but he fell asleep instantly and so she sighs. She’s not mean enough to try and move him while he’s sleeping and so she remains where she is.
She recalls how, since the morning, Aoi has appeared to be really tired and sleepy. She sighs in her mind and wonders what she should do, only for Aoi to sneeze in his sleep, and this makes her question as to why he’s sleeping outside if his health is bad. She realizes that it can’t be helped and removes her jacket to cover him. Suddenly she hears Atsumori comment on her kind action and she startles at seeing him. He asks in a whisper what this situation is and she blushes as she tries to explain that it’s nothing really, but Atsumori tells her that even if she says that there’s a reckless intimacy.
He points out that Aoi is holding onto the hem of her skirt. (๑￫‿￩๑) CUTE! SO CUTE! I CAN JUST IMAGINE HIM CLUTCHING AT NAZUNA LIKE A CHILD WITH A TEDDY BEAR. When he says this she realizes that it’s true, because he had been holding onto her like that in the morning as well. She wonders if it’s a habit his. AHHH! SO CUTE! THAT HABIT! Atsumori chuckles then and then tells her that Suou has been searching for Aoi like a demon. He asks her what happened and she responds by asking him why he thinks she would know. He hums thoughtfully and tells her that he’s pretty sure she knows.
She tries to deceive him, but Aoi wakes up at this point and complains about how he’s trying to sleep but nuisances are appearing. He tells his brother to shut up, while calling him by his nickname. Atsumori just huffs quietly at that and then Aoi tells him that he already knows Suou is looking for him. However, Atsumori says that he has another business to bring to Aoi’s attention. He hands a love letter to Aoi and when Aoi takes it, he flinches in shock. Atsumori tells him not to inform Suou of it or else he’ll think of it as a privilege and then. Aoi curses under his breath and then grits his teeth before running off.
Nazuna notices that Aoi’s face changed before he ran off. Atsumori sighs and comments on how Aoi didn’t have to run off all flustered like that before asking her if she’s curious. She lies to him and tells him that she’s not, but he just chuckles and says 「フッ・・・。そうか、そうだよな。」(Fu.. I see, that’s right you wouldn’t be), but it’s obvious that he can see through her. Nazuna thinks about how she is curious as to where Aoi ran off to but she’s not going to ask.
Back in her room Nazuna wonders what was written in the letter and who wrote it. After Aoi had run off, she didn’t see him anywhere around the school and it was as if he never existed since there was no sign of him anywhere. She’s sure that Atsumori knows where Aoi is and she knows that if she’s curious then she should just ask him, but she reminds herself of the bet and how it stops her from asking. Abruptly she remembers that she forgot her textbook in her class, because she’s been thinking about where Aoi is, and decides to head to school to get it even though it’s the middle of the night and she’s scared of the night.
She manages to get to the school safely and retrieves her textbook, but as she goes to leave she notices that the lights are on in the clubroom for the date club. Nazuna wonders if it someone forgot to turn off the lights or if someone’s there and so she knocks on the door and enters, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone. She notices a cellphone on the ground and as she goes to pick it up she suddenly hears Aoi groaning and moaning in the background. It seems like he’s in a nightmare.
Aoi doesn’t wake up no matter how loudly she says his name and so she checks his temperature only to find that his usual cold hands are burning hot. He has a really high fever and so she decides to call Fuji, but remembers that she left her cellphone in her room. It seems like she’ll have to borrow Aoi’s, although she hates using other people’s phones since it’s hard, but before that she puts a cold handkerchief on him. However, Aoi doesn’t seem to have Fuji’s phone number and so she tries to find Atsumori’s number instead, but she accidently goes into a picture folder.
Before she can return to the title screen she catches sight of the pictures and is shocked. In the pictures there is someone who looks a lot like Aoi, with the same smile and face, but he’s also clearly different from Aoi. Nazuna wonders who this is and notes that he seems to be just a bit older than Aoi. She comes to the conclusion that they’re twins. At this point, Aoi groans out loud and she jumps in surprise before wondering if he woke up and noticed her, but instead he just starts muttering 「・・・はぁ・・・ごめん。・・・ご、め・・。ごめん、ごめん・・・。ごめんなさ・・・」(.. Haa.. I’m sorry.. sorr.. I’m sorry.. sorry.. I’m really sorry..). ΣΣ(ﾟДﾟ；) HIS VOICE SOUNDED SO PAINFUL HERE AND SO SAD! I.. I.. UWAHH..
He lashes out and grips her hand tightly and so Nazuna tells him gently that it’ll be alright and that someone will be here soon, so he can calm down. Just as she thinks about calling for someone, Atsumori bursts into the room and Nazuna calls out his name in relie before telling him that she had been about to call him. He asks her if Aoi collapsed here and she nods before telling him about the fever. Atsumori grits his teeth before calling Aoi an idiot and then he tells Nazuna to move aside so, because he’ll escort Aoi.
Aoi manages to gasp out that he doesn’t want to and Atsumori tells him in a serious voice 「葵・・・お前が『ここ』にいたいのはわかる。だけど、ここで死なれても困るからな。」(Aoi.. I know that you want to stay “here”. However, if you die here there’ll be trouble). Atsumori curses under his breath and mumbles quietly about how Aoi is as thin as chicken bones. Nazuna asks him why Aoi is in this state, but Atsumori doesn’t answer her and instead tells her to return to the dormitories. He also tells her not to talk about it and that she should forget it, since he’ll take Aoi away.
She agrees hesitantly and then asks him where he’s going to take Aoi, but Atsumori just tells her that this isn’t her business. She watches them leave and then returns back to her room, but she can’t fall asleep at all since her mind is full of Aoi. She wonders where he went, why he was there, what he was apologizing for, and where Atsumori took him to. In her monologue, she also thinks about how she was happy that she was reunited with Aoi, but it feels like something bad has happened. She hopes that she’s just misunderstanding something.
The next day Nazuna hurries to the clubroom and wonders what happened to them after she left. She also wonders if they’re okay. While she’s thinking, Wabisuke appears and greets her but she just ignores him and continues thinking about how she should ask Atsumori for an update on Aoi, but then she remembers that he ordered her to forget it. Wabisuke calls her name again and she jumps in surprise when she notices him in front of her. He asks her what she’s doing spacing out. She tells him that she was just thinking and he hums thoughtfully before giving her a letter from their mother.
It seems that their parents sent them unusual things to eat and he informs her that he has loads of them, so he’ll come by later to take some of hers. Then Wabisuke scrutinizes Nazuna before asking her if she’s alright and if she has a cold. She hastily tells him that she’s fine and that it’s not like she something strange is going on between her and the Kano brothers, but this makes him frown before he tells her that he didn’t ask about that. However, the bell soon rings and Aoi appears telling her that it’s time in his usual voice.
Nazuna stutters out his name in surprise before asking him if he should be moving around. Aoi blinks in surprise and tells her that he’s fine and then he asks her why she suddenly said that. Her voice trails off as she says 「だから、昨日の・・・。」(That’s because, yesterday..), but Aoi just looks at her in confusion and asks her what she’s talking about. Nazuna wonders if he’s just ridiculing her but she feels like he really doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. She also wonders if he remembers being in her room.
Anyway, Aoi tells her 「まあ、オレと会えなくて寂しかったっつー話は、デート中に聞いてやるから、行こうぜ？」(Ma, the talk about being lonely because you couldn’t meet me, I’ll listen to it on our date. Let’s go?). Nazuna blushes at this and tells him that such a thing never happened, and he smirks as he tells her not to be embarrassed. Then he takes her by the hand, which makes her tell him not to pull her along, and they leave. Wabisuke exhales shakily with rage.
Aoi takes her to the forest again and tells her that he feels like walking, before he walks off. She calls for him to wait and tries to catch up to him while thinking that she had wanted to just sit down somewhere and drink some tea, since she thinks that his body is still recovering. Everytime she tries to catch up to him, he walks deeper in the forest, and so she continues following him while wondering if he’s in a bad mood. She decides that walking in the forest might be good then since the feeling of being alone and the quiet atmosphere might make him feel nice.
They end up reaching a lake and she smiles happily at seeing the magnificent view. Aoi is still silent and then he stops suddenly which makes her crash into his back. He turns to her and asks her if she’s never seen a lake before, but she tells him that she has, and so then he asks if she wants to do something nice here. Again, he’s implying sex. She calls him an idiot and his voice is annoyed as he tells her not to get angry, since they’re on a date and dates involve these kinds of things.
Nazuna tells him that he’s too impure before she starts talking about how they took great pains to walk her too. Aoi just grumbles about how she should just look at the scenery then and starts sulking off to the side. She ignores him though and tries to explain the beauty of the flowers, the sun’s reflection in the water, that small island, and then tries to ask him if he doesn’t think the same about how wonderful this place is. He just sighs and then asks her if she knows that this place has a love story associated with it. A love story about disappointed love.
The story is about how in the past there was a man who lived here and wanted to bring the flowers from the small island to his lover, because she liked them. So he entered the lake to swim to the island but his foot got caught by the seaweed and he died. His lover was devastated by his death and so then she took her own life. He grins afterward and asks her if it isn’t a stupid story, but Nazuna tells him that it isn’t at all and that it’s a sad story. In her mind, she thinks about how those two lovers must have deeply loved one another.
Aoi loses the smile on his face and then asks her in a serious voice if she would take her own life for the sake of her lover. She tells him that if she loved that person then she would and he responds with 「フーン、やるなぁ？」(Hou~, you’d do it?). He tells her that she’s saying that now, but when the time comes she might end up doing something different. She tells him that it may be so, but if she deeply loved the other person then maybe. He interrupts her and asks her if she’d follow that person and Nazuna finally relents and tells him that she’s not sure.
He tells her in a smug voice 「だろーなぁ。」(I thought you’d say that) before he cheerfully tells her that he’s going to go get them. Nazuna blinks in surprise before gasping in shock when he jumps into the water. She thought that he was lying when he said he’d go get the flowers and she quickly calls for him to wait. Aoi looks back and asks her what she wants in a flat voice. She tells him that if his foot gets caught, like in the story, it’ll be a big problem. He asks her if she doesn’t want the flowers.
She stutters out that she did want to see them, but she thinks that it’d be better if he didn’t just decide to go all of a sudden since it’s dangerous. Aoi chuckles softly and tells her that it’s not that dangerous since it’s just a lake. Nazuna tries to convince him by saying that he might be right, but he needs to think about the time since it’s almost evening. Aoi mutters thoughtfully about how that’s true, because the water is cold. She freezes at that before frantically telling him to climb out of the water and in her mind she’s thinking about what he would do if he caught another fever.
Aoi smirks and asks her if she doesn’t like a man who looks good wet. Nazuna is trying so hard to get him out of the water that she ends up blurting out that she thinks he looks better when he’s not dripping wet. He nearly snorts in laughter, but then says to her 「へーえ？オレのこと、お前そんなふうに思ってんのな？」(He~? Is that what you really think about me?) and then he tells her that she’s right though, about him looking better dry. She’s blushing brightly now, but manages to stutter out that she only thinks that about his appearance. He asks her if she’s sure that she didn’t fall in love with him inside herself.
Nazuna forcefully tells him that this sort of thing would never happen, but he ignores her and tells her lowly 「オレはなずなのこと、嫌いじゃないぜぇ？」(The things about you.. I don’t hate them). She’s stunned into silence and he adds huskily 「マジでさ・・・。お前が濡れてるトコも、見てみてぇよ。」(I’m serious.. I want to see you wet). (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR AOI TO USE HIS LOW SEXY VOICE IN HIS ROUTE EVER SINCE I HEARD IT IN WABISUKE’S. AND IT’S RIGHT HERE~!! She tells him that there’s no way she would enter this lake, since it’s the winter.
He sighs at this and mumbles about how this is why she’s so serious, before telling her that he didn’t say she had to enter the lake with him right now. Nazuna tells him that him entering alone is not good either, and his expression becomes serious as he asks 「お前のためでもか？」(Even if it was for you?). She stutters at this and he sighs quietly, but then she regains her thoughts and tells him to just hurry and exit the lake. He obeys her this time, though he complains under his breath, and she winces at how cold the water is since she gets splashed a bit. She couldn’t believe that he entered it like this.
Aoi grumbles about how he thought he’d finally get the flower. She tells him not to do unnecessary things and he counters by saying that it’s not unnecessary, but is instead important. She tells him that he does too many unreasonable things and he falls silent at that. As she fusses over him, he whispers 「たまには・・・ほかのヤツのために命かけんのも、いいかと思ったんだけどよ。」(For once.. I thought it would be good to give my life for someone else’s sake). Nazuna looks at him and asks if he said anything but Aoi just sighs again and tells him that he didn’t say anything.
Anyway, she tells him that they need to hurry and return home because if he remains wet like this then he’ll catch a cold. Aoi complains and tells her that they don’t need to do this, but she tells him not to say any complaints and he grumbles about how he’s following her orders. They finally manage to get back to the dormitories, though night has fallen. Nazuna also decides to ask if he’s recovered from his fever, but this Aoi responds by saying 「熱ぅ？何言っちゃってんのお前。ボケてんのかぁ？」(Fever? What are you talking about, hah. Are you spacing out?).
She tells him that she’s not before explaining that he collapsed yesterday in the clubroom. He just tilts his head curiously and she wonders in surprise if he really doesn’t remember anything. Aoi tells her that other than entering the water today, he’s been fine. She stares at him silently and he muses on how it really is cold now that he thinks about it, so he’ll head in first. Nazuna nods quietly and after he leaves she exhales while thinking about how she failed to ask him about it.
Suddenly Suou says from behind her 「・・・ったく、本当に始末に負えないヤツだ。面倒臭い。」(.. Hmph, it’s really unbearable to clean up after this guy. How bothersome). She jumps in surprise and asks him in a stutter how long he’s been standing there, but he just ignores her and tells her that he appreciates her efforts in babysitting that kid. Then he asks her if that’s her leisure activity and she stutters out that it’s not. However, Suou tells her that there’s a downside to her efforts and that soon the hypocrisy will end.
Nazuna asks him what he means, but he just tells her that he’s said it a lot of times but she shouldn’t get caught up in Aoi any more. This makes her ask him what he is to Aoi and Suou tells her that he’s 「処刑執行人」(An excutioner). She blinks in surprise and then he chuckles while saying 「クククッ・・・いや、我ながらいい肩書きを思い付いたもんだ。」(Hahaha.. No, I just think it’s a nice title if I do say so myself). Then he changes the topic and tells her that this is the last time he’ll say this. Suou’s voice drops into a ominous tone as he tells her 「アイツらに近づくな。」(Don’t get close to him). Nazuna wonders haltingly what he means by that.
Dessert time! Aoi is musing about what people would do for the sake of their love. He thinks about the story where the man, for the purpose of the flowers and in front of his love’s eyes, went into the water and drowned and he wonders what the lover felt. He thought that he would finally get to see it. After a step, the things he saw were regret and terror. He doesn’t know if he should think of her as being stupid for feeling those things and then he thinks about how he’s always been afraid of the conclusion that comes with death. However, he thinks that dying for his lover might not be something to fear. That’s if he loved that person and therefore had a reason.
He’s silent before laughing and then he thinks that it wouldn’t happen. In the end, to die is a scary thing. All he wanted to know was if it wouldn’t be scary if he died for the sake of love. Then he says that he understands. At that time when he was on a date with Nazuna and when he entered the lake. That time when he was going to pick the flowers for her, it might have not been the first time that he tasted the uncertainty of death.
Blackout! Aoi’s voice is shaky and teary as he tells her not to go and that she’s different. He tells her to wait and then asks her why she’s doing this. He doesn’t understand anymore what he feels. He breathes in sharply and then curses before asking her to stay with him together for forever. Then his voice rises in desperation as he tells her that if she’s not here.. he’ll.. He calls for her to wait and that this must be a lie because if she leaves then he’ll..
His voice lowers into a deadly tone and he mentions lightly that if it’s like this then she won’t be able to leave. He softly tells her to reconsider her actions and then he confesses that he doesn’t want to this, but she should understand. He exhales quietly in pleasure and tells her not to go and to stay with him and be by his side forever. His last words are for her not to abandon him and that he’s begging her. THIS WASN’T AS SCARY AS WABISUKE’S DERANGED GIGGLING. IT JUST FELT REALLY SAD ( ´・_・｀).
*** CHAPTER 5 ***
In her monologue, Nazuna thinks about how somehow she accidently opened up the forbidden gate. Inside her head, there are only thoughts about Aoi spinning around. She wants to know more about him but remembers that she can’t, and this hurts her inside, since she has to consider the bet and her brother’s sake. Then she thinks back to the time when he had his fever and how she wants to know what happened after. She also wants to know who that person was in his phone and what Suou meant.
Nazuna goes to the library and starts thinking about how these feelings definitely are not love, but merely that there are so many mysteries that she just wants to know. She remembers back to the words that Kakeru said about how people are interested in people who are interested in them and that since she’s involved in the date club with a bet, she can’t help but be caught up in them. Then Kazuya comes running up to her and she greets him politely, but he cuts right to the point and asks her if she read the newspapers.
She admits to it and so then he asks her anyone said anything about him. She hesitantly tells him that no one said anything and then questions as to why he’s asking her about this. Kazuya just apologizes though and asks her to come along with him quietly. She quickly tells him that she it’s alright because she won’t tell anyone and he smiles before telling her that it would save him and that he’s indebted to her. He also confesses that some people have nowhere to go but here. She parrots his words and he just nods quietly.
Suddenly their conversation is interrupted by a girl’s scream and Kazuya notes that it came from outside. They look into the courtyard from the library and see a person from the boxing club who shouts out 「・・・てめぇ・・・絶対許さねえ！！」(.. You bastard.. I’ll never forgive you!!) before punching Aoi. Kazuya asks her if it’s a fight and she tells him that it is and that the other person is Aoi, which surprises her and she wonders why Aoi is there.
Kazuya tells her that he’s going to go and stop it and then asks her what she wants to do. Nazuna tells him that she’s going to come with him too because she wants to know why there’s a fight. When she gets there she finds the boxing club member cursing and angrily yelling out that it’s all Aoi’s fault. She notices immediately that it’s one-sided, because Aoi isn’t even putting up a fight. Then she finds Seri and Daria also there and Daria tells her that it’d be better if she didn’t see this.
Nazuna asks them what is going on though and so Daria explains that the person who is hitting Aoi is the boyfriend of Aoi’s customer. She sighs and then says that it’s an unjustified resentment. Anyway, back to Aoi, the guy yells at him to say something before punching him again. Aoi just takes it silently except for grunting in pain. Nazuna asks whispers that this is cruel before asking if they aren’t going to stop it. Seri tells her that even if they want to stop it, the opponent is a member of the boxing club.
She grits her teeth at this because remaining as a bystander isn’t going to solve anything. Kazuya steps in and tells the two to cut it out, but the boxing member yells at Kazuya to release him because he won’t forgive Aoi for playing around with and then throwing away his important girlfriend. Aoi inhales painfully and Kazuya tells the guy to stop it and to remain quiet. Nazuna notices that if the fight isn’t stopped soon then Aoi is going to get hit again and so she forces herself in between them.
The boxing club member angrily asks her why she’s here while Aoi painfully whispers out her name. She tells the guy that she knows he’s angry, but to hit someone who is as weak as this is bullying. This makes Aoi tell her not to say unnecessary things, though his breath is laboured. She tells him that she couldn’t just stand by and watch and that it’s not like him to quietly take hits like this. The boxing club member curses and raising his hand, but Kazuya snaps at him and tells him that if he hits a girl then he’s going to get punished severely.
Aoi’s opponent gasps in surprise and then grits his teeth while vowing that he’ll remember this and he’ll definitely kill Aoi. He runs off and then Aoi asks her why she did that, before muttering about how he’s not going to thank her. Nazuna tells him that she didn’t do it for thanks anyway. In her thoughts she tries to convince herself that she interfered simply because she couldn’t watch it silently, and that it wasn’t because of.. Fuji comes in at this point and tells everyone to move out of the way.
He makes fun of Aoi’s wounds and comments on how he really got beat up this time, which makes Aoi tiredly tell him to shut up. Fuji asks Kazuya for help in carrying Aoi to the infirmary and Aoi tries to fight back, but Kazuya just tells him to be quiet. Then Fuji asks Nazuna to come along too and his reasoning is that the two of them aren’t able to manage Aoi alone.
At the infirmary Aoi is wincing and complaining at the pain before he finally snaps at Fuji to be more gentle. Fuji just tells him that it can’t be helped since his wounds are so plentiful and so of course they’d hurt. However, the pain is proof that he’s still alive.
Aoi curses under his breath and Fuji sighs while pointing out that he really is a person who gets into a lot of these fights. Nazuna speaks up at this point and asks about it, but Aoi ignores her and tells Fuji not to say unnecessary things. Fuji nods complacently but informs Nazuna that these things frequently happen to Aoi. Aoi tries to tell him again to stop saying unnecessary things, but Fuji continues on and explains that things like Aoi getting beaten to a pulp and then having to be carried to the infirmary.
This makes Aoi try to protest again, but then he passes out from the pain. Kazuya moves him to the bed so that he can rest and then Nazuna asks Fuji about what he was talking about from before. Fuji explains that it’s true, but it isn’t because Aoi is weak since he has a lot of physical strength. She asks him why then but he just shrugs his shoulders before informing her that he and Kazuya need to head to the staff room and so he asks her to watch over Aoi. She repeats his request in surprise and Kazuya tells her to do it, so she agrees hesitantly and then the two leave.
Now that she’s alone in the infirmary with Aoi she ponders about the things that happened, like why Aoi allowed the boxing club member to continue to hit him. She remembers Seri’s words about how they continue to drink poison despite their being no medicine. In other words, it means that they’re doing things that they know will lead them to their deaths. She notes that when Aoi was being hit by the guy, his face was showing resignation and acceptance and so she wonders why it was there. She had thought that the date club members were people who played around with people’s hearts, but maybe she was wrong about that.
She wonders if the date club should instead be considered as something full of despair or self-abandonment. At this point, Aoi wakes up and asks her in a low voice as to why she’s here and she’s surprised at first, but then puts on a teasing face and tells him that it’s because she wants to be here. He smiles at this and tells her that he can still assault her while he’s sleeping and then smirks as he tells her that she should remember it well. Nazuna blushes and changes the subject to how glad she is that he’s returned to normal after having slept.
He looks away at this point and tells her that she’s always doing these boring things, like at that fight from before. His voice falls into a whisper as he confesses that he was happy at that time. She interrupts at this point and asks him why he would do such a thing and his life isn’t some object he can do with as he pleases. She tells him that she doesn’t know what happened, but that a person’s life should be precious to them. Aoi growls at her to shut up before raising his voice to yell out that his life is his own and so he’ll do whatever he wants with it.
Nazuna tries to speak up, but he interrupts her and tells her that whatever he does should be fine and that a serious honors student like her wouldn’t know anything. He repeats that it should be fine for there to be people in this world who don’t care about whether or not they live or die. He angrily spits out that this beautiful thing which is always lauded as being important makes him want to puke. His breathing becomes painful as he gasps out 「お前、に・・・何が・・・。くそっ・・・！」(You.. what do you know.. Dammit..!).
She quickly tells him that he shouldn’t move since his wounds will reopen, but he snaps at her not to touch him. He slips off the bed and moves toward the door which makes her asks him where he’s going, but he tells her to shut up and that it has nothing to do with her. She wants him go and wonders if she said something cruel but she doesn’t know anything about Aoi’s situation.
In her monologue her chest hurts from the strained atmosphere that was left behind. She realizes that she must have said something that she shouldn’t have, but she didn’t know that he was going to react that way. She berates herself for saying such a thoughtless thing and that she needs to think about her words more carefully, even if she doesn’t know anything. But she really doesn’t know anything about Aoi, nothing at all. Once again she thinks about how her chest hurts, but she couldn’t stand Aoi being hit by that.
At this point, Atsumori comes into the infirmary and looks at her in shock before asking her why she’s crying. Nazuna tells him that she’s not but he points out that she clearly is before muttering about how he dislikes people who cry like children. He roughly gives her something and tells her 「・・・ほら！これ、やるから五秒のうちに泣き止め。」(.. Here! With this your tears will stop in 5 seconds) and coughs loudly. She’s surprised to see that he gave her chocolate and he smiles before saying softly that it’ll taste sweeter because she’s crying. WAH, HE’S SURPRISINGLY NICE FOR A DO-S.. (*´ω`*). UNLESS THIS IS A TRICK.
Atsumori orders her to hurry up and eat it so that she can hurry up and stop crying. Nazuna smiles at Atsumori’s surprising kindness, but then he asks her if she said anything to Aoi. She asks him how he knows and he explains that Aoi isn’t here despite being weak and tired. Nazuna confesses that she said something unnecessary. Atsumori just tells her that he isn’t sure if this will be a comfort, but she doesn’t know anything and so it’s not her fault. She argues that it’s because she doesn’t know anything that she hurt him.
He sighs and says that he doesn’t know how she imagines Aoi, but Aoi is carrying a fate that is heavier than expected and living with it. He corrects himself and says that it might be more like he’s living as if he were dead. When she asks him about that, he explains that the meaning of living and dying are unchangeable. Then he tells her that she might not be able to comprehend it, but there are people like that in this world. She says his name quietly but he continues on and says that because one can’t run away from fate, it becomes painful.
Then Atsumori explains that 「お前とアイツは、いや、お前と俺たちは光と影みたいなもんさ。」(You and he are.. no.. you and us are like light and shadow) and that all the people in the date club are people who embrace and live in the darkness. That’s why she’s something that everyone wants and they were all curious about how it would feel to be beside her. But, in the end, it’s still just an illusion because no matter where they are the darkness will come back.
In her monologue Nazuna thinks about how people beg for things that they don’t have and painfully live on. The darkness in light and the light in darkness is something that people search for, despite being unable to grasp it in their hands. Even though they know that it’s impossible they still continue to struggle. She doesn’t that she stands in the light, because there is no doubt that she has some darkness within her and so that’s why someone out there should also have some light in them. She thinks that it’s impossible for there to be things that can’t meet and join.
After Atsumori left she returned to the library. She knows that she should be searching for Aoi, but she’s dallying in the library. In this state of confusion and trying to understand what she just learned, she’s sure that she’ll hurt him again. Nazuna tells herself that she has to decide what to do and that if she finds Aoi then she’s going to drink the poison together with him. Her face becomes pained though as she thinks about how if she drinks the poison then her brother will be stuck in the club, as according to the bet made.
Her thoughts are interrupted by Wabisuke appearing and telling her that he’s been looking for her. He becomes alarmed when he notices that her eyes are red and he asks her if she’s been crying. She tells him listlessly that he’s wrong, but he calls her a liar. He heard from a friend that there was fight in the courtyard and that she went to the infirmary, but when he went to find her she wasn’t there. Nazuna apologizes and tells him that she wanted to calm down. He smiles at that and says it’s typical of her to come to the library to calm down.
Nazuna suddenly tries to tell him something, and he asks her what it is with a soft voice and pats her head. She tells him not to treat her like a child and he laughingly points out that she’s his little sister so she’ll always be a child to him. She falls silent and realizes that in the end she can’t tell him that she feels like she’s going to lose the bet. He asks her what’s wrong since she fell silent so abruptly, but she lies and tells him that she’s still experiencing shock from witnessing the fight.
Wabisuke tells her not to push herself and she nods before deciding to head home to the dormitories. He reminds her that if anything troubling happens then she should tell him as soon as possible. As she walks away, Nazuna decides that she’s the worst kind of person since she’s afraid to say her true feelings like a coward. Plus, she’s also going to be betraying her brother. However, Aoi’s pained and sad face when they had their fight won’t leave her mind.
She ends up on the soccer field and thinks about how in the end she couldn’t say anything to her brother and she still doesn’t know where Aoi is. At this rate, with her conflicted feelings, she won’t be able to go on a date with him. Then she notes how the weather is turning really cold and that it’ll probably start to snow soon. Suddenly, a light starts flashing at her and she recalls that on the first day she came there was that light that scared the horse and Daria had to save her. Nazuna looks up into the sky and sees Aoi on the rooftop.
In her monologue she talks about how the moment she saw him she started running to get to the rooftop. The sight of Aoi against the backdrop of the sunset won’t leave her mind and she wonders what he’s doing up there, before suddenly remembering what he said in the infirmary about how his life is his own. Nazuna comes to the realization that he might be trying to kill himself and so when she bursts out onto the rooftop she frantically calls out his name and tells him to calm down. Aoi just blinks in surprise and asks her in a low voice why she came here.
She explains quickly that she came to apologize for the things she said, because she doesn’t know anything but still opened her mouth. Then she tells him that he can’t die and wraps her arms around him. Aoi yelps in surprise and tells her to release him but she stubbornly says that she won’t until he says that he won’t die. Nazuna confesses that she doesn’t know his circumstances or what kind of person he is, but she doesn’t believe in his words that there are people who would rather die. She doesn’t care if he thinks of her as a fool, or looks down on her, or thinks of her as someone who doesn’t understand anything.
Nazuna tells him that she doesn’t think she’s mistaken in believing that everyone’s lives are necessary and meaningful in this world. Suddenly, Aoi smiles and calls her an idiot before poking her in the forehead. She’s shocked to see him smiling and then he asks her softly 「なんだよ、見とれてんのか？」(What is it, did you fall for me?). She blushes and stutters out that he’s wrong and that it wouldn’t happen. DO I HEAR AN INSIDE JOKE HERE? (≧∀≦). Then he sighs exasperatedly before rhetorically asking her what kind of wrong conclusion she came to. He tells her that he was just looking at that.
It turns out that he wanted to see the first star in the sky. He softly confesses that it feels like they can reach out and grab it from here. She’s still staring at him with wide eyes and so he narrows his eyes at her and asks her what’s with that face. Blushingly, she tells him that it’s nothing before noting that the atmosphere around him is different from usual. Aoi sighs and his voice is sad as he says that though it feels like he can grab it, he can’t grab it. Nazuna looks at his face in profile and thinks that as he’s looking at the stars, it somehow makes her feel.. She chides herself for getting all flustered.
Suddenly, Aoi turns to her with a serious face and asks her why she wants him to live, since it seems like someone in her position would want him dead. Nazuna tells him she wouldn’t because she doesn’t find think it’s a good thing for people to die. She’s never once thought of wanting him dead. Aoi hums thoughtfully at this and then she asks him if he’s ever thought about that and he confesses that he had, but it makes him feel sick.
He tells her that when he says the word living, that’s what he means by it. Nazuna doesn’t understand anything of what he is saying. Aoi sighs at this and mutters about how he hates having a serious conversation and then talks about how when he’s living, someone else is living at the same time. However, when he dies then that’s the end but maybe if he dies someone else might die too. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I RE-READ THIS.. IT MAKES ME CONFUSED ┐(ﾟ～ﾟ)┌.
Aoi changes the subject and asks her if she’s ever caught the first star. She blinks in surprise and parrots his words, but Aoi doesn’t mind her and continues on to say that she probably hasn’t, but he has. There’s a flash of light and she realizes that it’s the same from before. He asks her if she wants to see in a teasing voice and she nods enthusiastically, but he just laughingly tells her 「ダメ、見せてやんねぇ。」(Too bad, I’m not going to show you). Nazuna blushes at wonders what’s wrong with her for suddenly feeling her heart clench. YOU’RE NOT ALONE GIRL BECAUSE AOI’S VOICE HERE WAS FGDOKAGA ADORABLE!! SO TEASINGLY CUTE (*´∀`*)えへへ!
Then he asks her if she has an interest in him. Nazuna flinches in shock and tries to buy time by asking him why he’s saying this all of a sudden, but he tells her that it’s not all of a sudden since minutes before she was frantically telling him not to die. Nazuna desperately tells him that anyone would have said that if they thought that the person in front of them was going to fall off the building. He hums thoughtfully at that, but then asks her lowly 「な。なずな、お前さ・・・。」(Na, Nazuna. Do you..) and then he steps closer to her.
「・・・オレのこと・・・知りたい？」(..want to know about me?). She’s startled and embarassed at how close his face is to hers by this point. He tells her softly that everyone tries to deceive themselves, but that in truth they can’t help but be extremely curious about him. Nazuna can’t help but tell him not to bring his face closer, but Aoi just tells her 「キスさせるよ。そしたら、全部、教えてやるぜ？」(Let’s kiss.. Then, I’ll tell you.. everything). She tells him not joke around and that she’s not really that curious. Aoi softly calls her a liar because her face is showing everything. He tries to convince her by saying that a kiss right now isn’t a big deal.
Nazuna is conflicted but ends up deciding to just close her eyes. Aoi chuckles lowly and tells her that her expression is nice and then there’s the sound of a shutter clicking. He leaps away from her cheering at how he has a picture that will put him in the lead from everyone else. Nazuna gasps in surprise and then asks for it, but Aoi refuses before heading off. She asks him where he’s going and he tells her smugly that he’s going to boast about this and that no doubt the club members will be vexed.
After he disappears from the rooftop she realizes that she had been deceived since she thought they were having a serious conversation. But then she smiles and thinks that even so, she feels as if she’s gotten a bit closer to Aoi. Just a little bit. Then the bell rings and she notes that it’s time for another date with Aoi. However, after her bet ends she’ll no longer have any reason to note the chime and this makes her want to remain like this forever with Aoi. But then she berates herself for thinking like that.
Their 5th date starts in her classroom and Aoi tells her that he’ll accompany her to a place that she loves. She’s surprised and then tells him happily that they’ll go to the library then. His face instantly becomes disgusted as he says the word library and Nazuna’s own face falls as she asks him if they can’t, but Aoi sticks by his word and accompanies her to the library. She smiles brightly when they’re in the library and Aoi notes that she really loves the library, and when she nods greatly he mutters 「・・・理解できねぇ。」(.. I can’t comprehend it).
Nazuna tells him that with so many books around it’s impossible to get tired. Aoi just continues to grumble and says that the moment he steps in he’s tired. This makes her pout and she tells him that he needs to make an effort to be with her since this is a date and Aoi actually blushes at this and tells her that he knows. She suddenly starts thinking really hard about what kind of books they should read, since with Aoi here she can’t read what she normally reads and she wants to find a book that he’ll enjoy too.
Aoi tells her slowly that somehow it feels like the tension rose. Nazuna nods strongly and confesses that she finds it really interesting to find books that people will want to read. Aoi looks surprised and asks her in a terrified voice if she’s actually going to make him read. Nazuna tilts her head in confusion and tells him that it’d be strange if they didn’t read books in a library. Aoi tells her not to joke around since he came here for a date. Nazuna asks him if that’s not what people do on dates to the library. Aoi tells her that it shouldn’t be called a date then and that it’s boring to the extreme.
Her face is a bit depressed as she asks if that’s true and then realizes that it’s harder than it seems to decide what to do on a date. Aoi finally sighs and tells her that he does feel a little bit like reading now that he’s here. Nazuna cheers up at this, but then he tells her that if he’s going to read a book then he wants to read something erotic and asks her if she knows any. Nazuna answers him seriously and says that the classics would probably have those and this makes Aoi smirk as he points out that she seems to know a lot about it.
Nazuna stutters out that it’s not pornographic material but that it’s literature. Aoi just snorts and asks if those aren’t the same. She changes the subject and starts listing off some books that she thinks he might like, but he tells her that he’s actually read those in the past. She suggests that he choose his own book then, but he grumbles about how annoying that would be and so then she tells him not to complain, especially since he’s escorting her. Aoi sighs and asks if he can just randomly look at things, but she tells him that they’re on a date and so he can’t go home just because he wants to.
Aoi grumbles about how noisy she is, but Nazuna ignores him and becomes excited when she finds a book that she’s been searching for. He narrows his eyes and notes about how her tension just suddenly rose and when she looks back at him and asks him what he said, he tells her that it’s nothing but that he wants to be the one to raise her tension and make her excited. She tells him with a smile that she doesn’t think he’d be able to do that and Aoi growls out about how she shouldn’t make him angry.
Then he asks her if only books can make her excited and she tells him that they do and this takes him aback as he mutters about how she just said that so bluntly. Nazuna can’t stop smiling since she feels lucky at finding her book though and she tells him that she’s going to look at it for a bit and then apologizes because she might take a while to read. He just sighs and tells her to do as she wants and so she starts to read and he walks off. Nazuna wonders if he went home, but she suddenly hears him calling for her.
She looks around and finds him standing around a corner where he tells her that there’s a lot of books here that she likes. Nazuna is interested and happy to see what kind of books that he picked out for her. When she comes over to him he tells her that no one is here because it’s full of letters. Nazuna thinks that it does look like prohibited books here, and then Aoi notes out loud that people probably wouldn’t come here out of idle curiosity. She agrees slowly and then he abruptly grabs her and pins her against the bookshelf.
Nazuna lets out a small scream of surprise, but Aoi shushes her and tells her that it’d be bad if she raised her voice in a library. She bites her lips and realizes that she needs to calm down since he’s just doing what he always does. Then she whispers furiously asking him what he thinks he’s doing and if it isn’t boring. Aoi tells her that it’s not boring since it seems fun to do it in a library. He whispers into her ear asking her what kind of things she’s feeling from the thought of this happening in a place that she loves. She tells him that she doesn’t think or feel anything.
Aoi’s voice drops in annoyance and he tells her to be more disagreeable. He tells her that if she raises her voice then everyone would notice and doesn’t that make this moment more thrilling? She tells him angrily that it doesn’t. He asks her if that’s true and then tells her to think more about how embarrassing it would be if people found her like this. Nazuna tries to tell him that she doesn’t really, but then cuts herself off. This makes Aoi chuckle lowly as he asks her if that doing this in a place of study doesn’t make her excited.
She glares at him silently, but he tells her that it’s no use and then muses out loud on how it seems like he’s proficient at library dates too. He laughs quietly and unties the ribbon on her uniform. Immediately afterwards he asks 「ドキドキしてんだろ。」(Isn’t your heart pounding?) and then there’s the sound of him sliding the ribbon off. Nazuna desperately wonders what she should do since she can’t raise her voice. On the other hand, Aoi is whispering with amusement 「やべぇ、興奮してきた・・・。」(This is dangerous, I’m getting excited..).
Nazuna realizes that at this rate something bad will happen. Aoi huskily says her name and then she hits him with the book that she was carrying. He grunts in pain and then steps away from her while hissing painfully 「～～～いってぇ！！」(—OW!). She tells him that it’s punishment for doing strange things in the library. Aoi painfully gasps out about her using that book as a weapon and Nazuna smirks and tells him to realize the power of a hardcover book with 1000 pages.
Aoi gasps out that he realizes it and then mutters about how it feels like his brain is going to leak out. Nazuna looks at him in worry because she didn’t think that she hit him that hard, but he justs starts laughing before telling her 「つーかさぁ、本気にしてんじゃねーよ。」(By the way, I wasn’t serious). When she still doesn’t understand he explains that he wasn’t serious about doing it in the library. He sighs in pleasure and says 「あー、面白ぇ。」(Ahh, that was interesting). Nazuna starts blushing as he laughs some more because she thought he was being serious and her heart is pounding again.
The scene switches to them being in the courtyard and now it’s night. Nazuna sees the decorated christmas tree and and smiles in joy at how beautiful it is, while Aoi’s face twists into sadness. He asks her if she’s the type that likes Christmas and she tells him that she doesn’t hate people being festive and she’s about to add another reason as to why she likes Christmas, but Aoi interrupts her and asks if it’s also because she has a date with someone. Nazuna blushes and tells him that she never had them, but instead spent christmas with her family.
They had a simple party at home and gave each other presents as well as noisily opening them. She laughs as she recalls how her brother received a cat doll and had a strange face. And when they were small they fought a lot over who would put the star at the top. Aoi hums in thought and so she apologizes for talking about such boring things. He tells her that it isn’t because he only has a small amount of important christmas memories. She notices that his face looks sad and asks him if Atsumori and him spend it together.
Aoi tells her that he’s only Atsumori’s brother out of a sense of duty. They only started doing things together when they both entered this school. His voice takes on a distant tone as he says that christmas has the feeling of being mostly worthless and then he adds 「いつも、繋がれてたぜ。・・・そして、痛くて・・・寂しくて・・・でも・・・。」(They’re always being tied up.. and it hurts.. it’s lonely.. but..). Nazuna says his name quietly before she tries to cheer him up by suggesting that this year they can have a christmas party with everyone. He laughs briefly and then asks her if she means the club members.
Nazuna nods at that and becomes excited at the thought of buying a christmas tree and decorating it together. They’ll also have things to eat and drink and then they can exchange presents. She doesn’t think that it’s a bad idea. Abruptly, she wonders what she’s saying but then she realizes that she wants to be with Aoi.
He laughs at her ideas and notes how it’s very child-like, but then he adds that it doesn’t hurt to act like one, once in a while. Then he looks away and adds under his breath 「最後に・・・なるかもしんねーし・・・。」(At the end.. I don’t know if I can succeed..). THERE ARE SO MANY MEANINGS HERE FOR THE VERB “NARU” THAT WITHOUT THE CONTEXT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HE MEANS.
She blinks in confusion since she heard him say the first word, but she doesn’t think that she should ask. Instead, she asks him if he’ll promise her but he just tells her that he’ll think about it. Then he tells her to treasure her brother and she asks him why he said that all of a sudden. Aoi shrugs and says that he didn’t have a reason and that he just thought her brother might run into some sort of misfortune. She doesn’t say anything and so he changes the topic and tells her that it’s getting cold and so they should head back.
Before they head back though, Aoi smirks and says 「なんならココで温まってからでもいいけどさぁ。」(Although, if you like, we can warm up here). She asks him hesitantly what he means by that, and he tells her teasingly that he meant exactly what he said. She glares at him and tells him that he’s making fun of her again but she cuts herself off when she notices that his appearance looks strange. Aoi gasps in pain and then collapses in front of her, which freaks her out and she calls his name frantically. She wonders if he has some strange disease or illness.
Nazuna runs into Fuji’s room and tells him that Aoi collapsed outside and Fuji immediately says that it must be his anemia. Nazuna exhales in relief and confesses that she was surprised that it’s just anemia. In her mind she thinks about how when Aoi collapsed in front of her, especially after their talk about wanting to die, she thought he had some terminal illness. Fuji then hums thoughtfully and when she looks at him he muses out loud on how this situation is troublesome.
When she asks him what he means, Fuji explains that Aoi never eats satisfactory meals and that he heard it from Atsumori. Nazuna asks him why Aoi would do that and Fuji muses out loud on how he might have the feeling that nothing he does will change the fate that has been given to him and that’s why his real feelings needs to be restrained. Nazuna doesn’t understand at all and Fuji apologizes before asking her if she hasn’t heard of this. She apologizes because she hasn’t, but he confesses that the only reason he knows about this situation is because he has a doctor’s license.
He asks her if she wants to know and she tells him that she would be lying if she said that she didn’t want to know. However, she’s worried about the bet as well and so Fuji says he won’t tell her then. Good girls need to be rewarded and so she won’t hear it from his mouth. Suddenly, Suou comes in mutter about how Aoi is risking his life and then apologizes for the rudeness of his ward, who is Aoi. Aoi groans painfully in Suou’s arms and Nazuna asks him where he’s going to be taking Aoi. Suou tells her that it’s obvious he’s taking Aoi to his room.
Then he adds mysteriously that 「幸い、今はコイツの出番ではないからな。」(It seems like it isn’t this boy’s turn for happiness). Nazuna notes that even though Suou called himself an executioner, he hasn’t done anything to Aoi and instead seems to be worried for him. Suou glances over at Nazuna and tells her not to make that kind of face or else Aoi would be delighted. When she repeats this word, he explains that it would please him because there would be someone out there who worried for him, when he doesn’t even worry for himself.
Fuji interrupts and tells Suou that what he said was in bad taste. Suou just chuckles before excusing himself and he takes Aoi with him. After Suou leaves Nazuna asks out loud what will become of Aoi and Fuji repeats her sentence before saying that at any rate whether it’s living or dying, he won’t be able to have his way with it. Nazuna wonders what the meaning of that is and recalls that Aoi said something similar. However, Fuji just tells her to return to her room to sleep. He also points out that she’ll catch a cold wearing light clothes like that.
In her room Nazuna thinks again about how she doesn’t understand anything. She thinks that Aoi might have some sort of illness, but then decides that it can’t be that simple. She enters her bed thinking about Aoi and wonders about what this feeling in her chest is and how she’s like a child for trying to imagine Aoi’s appearance on her ceiling. Her windows are rattling from the winds and she trembles from being alone before closing her eyes. She thinks that it’ll probably snow.
Dessert time! Aoi thinks about how that time, when he was suddenly embraced, was bewildering. He asks her who she thought was going to kill themselves and in fact, he might have fallen off the rooftop because of her sudden action in grabbing him. It was dangerous, but he wasn’t even close to death. However, he thinks about how when he was looking for the first star he had the sense of being dissociated with his body and that if Nazuna hadn’t been there to call out his name then he’s not sure what would have happened.
He thinks that his death wouldn’t have been good, nor would it have been bad. Then he chuckles and muses on how recently he’s being risky. He’s aware that he’s becoming insecure with his self-consciousness. He remembers back to the time when Nazuna had closed her eyes and was waiting for a kiss. That was his chance, but instead he took a picture and ran away. He notes how that was out of character for him. He thinks that it wasn’t possible for Nazuna to feel her heart pounding then.
And that if she was then he could easily steal her away. He could easily push her down and have his way with her and do everything. He thinks about how it might be because she’s infatuated with his heart. AM I SLEEPY OR JUST LOSING MY TOUCH (´～｀)? THIS WAS FULL OF REALLY WEIRD SENTENCE STRUCTUERS.
*** CHAPTER 6 ***
In Nazuna’s monologue, her first thought upon waking up in the cold morning is that she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. She saw a dream and it was a long one where all she could see was neverending darkness. In her dream she was completely lost and so because of this bad dream she woke up feeling awful despite it being winter. She ponders on what she should eat for breakfast and then thinks about the letter that her parents wrote which apparently has recipes on it, but she’s not sure what to make in her mini kitchen.
Then she gets the bright idea to make some food for Aoi and ask him to eat it with her, since she heard from Fuji that he has anemia and doesn’t eat properly. Her food isn’t inedible, but it isn’t fantastic either. However, she doesn’t think that Aoi wouldn’t eat it and so she heads to the clubroom first to look for him, but he isn’t there, and so then she goes to the rooftop and finds him. When she calls out his name he looks over and greets her calmly and points out that it’s unusual for her to be here during lunch.
She nods her head at that and then realizes that even though she came here to give him a bento, it’s embarrassing to just hand it out. Aoi notes that she’s hiding something behind her back and then asks her teasingly if it’s a love letter for him. Nazuna snaps out that it isn’t and that it’s a bento. When he looks at it she stutters out that she didn’t make it for his sake and that she had leftovers. Aoi laughs and asks her what’s with her tsundere response. She tells him that if he doesn’t want it then she’ll take it home.
He changes the topic though and asks her if she put any octopus weiners in it. She tells him that she didn’t. He grumbles and tells her that those things are what people look forward to in bentos like octopus-shaped weiners, quail eggs, meatballs, and omelettes. She tells him that she just has omelettes in there and so he grumbles about how he has no interest in it, but asks her to hand it over anyway and starts eating it. When he opens it he gasps in surprise and then tells her in an embarrassed voice that this is actually the first time he’s had a bento.
Nazuna asks him why he said those words from before then and he confesses that it’s said in mangas. Then he asks her if she made it all, to which she replies that she did, and he compliments her 「へー、すげぇ。ちょっと見直した。」(Heeh~, that’s amazing. I have to fix my view of you). She asks him with irritation what he means by changing his view of her, but he just laughingly tells her that he was just lying and then compliments her on the taste of the food. She’s glad that he’s pleased with her bento.
Then she hears him saying something under his breath as he divides the bento into parts. Suddenly he calls her name and tells her to open her mouth. She blinks in surprise and hesitantly opens her mouth only for him to shove food in there. She splutters a bit before asking him what that was for and not to divide the bento into things he likes and dislikes. Aoi’s voice is soft as he tells her that he doesn’t hate them, but that he can’t eat them. She flatly asks him if that doesn’t have the same meaning.
Aoi tells her that it’s different and then confesses that he doesn’t want to eat the fish and meat because they feel like victims. He feels like it’s cannibalism when he tries to eat meat and so it’s impossible for him. Then he apologizes for it, but Nazuna shakes her head and tells him that it’s not anything to apologize for. Some time passes and then he stands up thanking her for the food while musing on how it’s been a while since he had a meal. Nazuna chides him and tells him that it’s no good not to eat anything. She wants to say something about him collapsing again, but realizes that she shouldn’t bring it up.
He tells her that it’s not that he’s not going to eat anything and that it’ll be fine, because he can eat some of Atsumori’s chocolates. Nazuna tells him that chocolates won’t make him healthy and he tilts his head in confusion before telling her that Atsumori is always going on about how there are some people who live off of chocolate and that chocolate is amazing, but he adds under his breath about how annoying Atsumori is going on about the time.
Anyway, then he shrugs and tells her 「まーいいや、っと、それより、メシも食ったし・・・。」(Ma, anyway on another note, speaking of a meal..). He pushes her down and whispers 「今度は子ブタちゃんを喰うか。」(Next time I’ll eat you). She splutters at him to wait and he tells her lowly that she should understand that if she approaches him she’ll be eaten. Then he whispers if she wants a kiss mark, before laughing softly. She pushes him away and tells him to stop fooling around. Aoi just laughs some more and points out that her face is bright red.
Nazuna complains in her head about how he’s never serious but always doing these things. She also notes that Aoi seems to be the type to hide his honest feelings. Suddenly, the chime sounds and she tells him that she’s going to return to class now. Aoi tells her that he’s going to skip it since he doesn’t feel like attending class.
*** FORBIDDEN ROUTE ***
Surprisingly, she doesn’t chide him for skipping and instead just tells him that she’ll be leaving then. He sends her off with a cheerful grin. This makes her wonder about why he comes to school since he seems like the type to skip a lot of his classes. She remembers the words that Kazuya said about how there are people who have nowhere else to go but here.
Nazuna leaves the rooftop and runs to her next class since it’s about to start soon, but then she sees Suou talking on the phone and she freezes. He talks about how the situation is okay and the spare’s condition was only slightly damaged, but nothing serious. He confirms something and says that it’ll happen soon, but comments on how before christmas is a little early. And then he acknowledges that he’ll pass on the message of how there’s no more time.
As she’s listening to this, one of her pens drops from her pocket and Suou asks sharply who’s there. Nazuna reveals herself and apologizes and he tells her that eavesdropping is bad taste and then asks what exactly she heard. She thinks in her head about how telling the truth seems to be bad and so she lies and says that she just got there and didn’t hear anything. Suou asks if that’s true and then laughs sardonically before telling her that he’ll believe her. Then he tells her to hurry to class since it’s going to start soon.
She excuses herself quickly and notes that the conversation she heard sounded like something bad and that the word “spare” sounds frightening. Nazuna’s class ends quickly and she decides to return a book to the library since she doesn’t have to date anyone today. However, she’s a bit worried about Aoi, even though he ate at lunch, because she’s afraid that he collapsed from anemia somewhere. So she ends up going to the clubroom to check up on him.
Atsumori is standing in front of the clubroom door though and he’s just as surprised to see her as she is him. He points out that today isn’t the day for a date and she tells him that just wanted to check up on Aoi. This makes him laugh shortly before commenting on how she’s fallen in love with Aoi. Nazuna blushes and tells him that she would never and he teases her by pointing out that her face is bright red. He huffs and tells her that it’s not interesting, at any rate, and that he won’t give her anymore chocolate.
Nazuna is taken aback and tells him that she’s fine with that. Then she asks him why he’s standing in front of the clubroom door and apparently he forgot his key inside before walking out and the clubroom door locks automatically. Seri has the spare but he went out on a trip. Nazuna asks if Aoi doesn’t have a key, since he’s the leader of the date club, and Atsumori tells her that Aoi does but it’s sunken somewhere in his room. She blinks in confusion and asks him about that, to which he asks her if she’s ever been to Aoi’s room.
Of course she hasn’t and so Atsumori comments on how that’s a good thing then since if she went in then there’s be an increase in victims. This makes her wonder, with a bit of fear, what kind of room Aoi has. Atsumori sighs and then muses on how he’ll have to ask the principal for another spare key and this makes Nazuna reveal to him that she overheard Suou talking about some kind of spare thing as well and that it was a bit scary sounding, but then she smiles and comments on how it probably has no relation to anything. Atsumori is staring at her in shock though and then grabs her shoulder tightly.
He asks her frantically when she heard that and she tells him that she heard it during lunch. She also tells him that her shoulder is hurting from the strength of his grip, but he ignores her and asks her where Aoi was. She tells him that he wasn’t there and Atsumori curses loudly before running off. She calls after him in surprise and wonders what is happening with Atsumori and Aoi. She’s a bit worried and so she follows Atsumori to the chapel.
Atsumori storms into the chapel and calls out for Aoi, which makes him grumble as he wakes up from sleeping on the bench, but Atsumori cuts him off and tells him to run away. Aoi’s face becomes serious as he asks Atsumori what’s wrong all of a sudden and that his serious face doesn’t suit him. Nazuna is wondering what Atsumori meant by running away. Atsumori snaps at Aoi to shut up and listen to his words, but Aoi tells him that he doesn’t want to because he’s not going to take orders from anyone. Not even the head of his own family.
This makes Atsumori grit his teeth and then he asks 「それじゃあ・・・アイツの・・・アイツの言うことは聞くのか・・！？」(Then.. that person.. will you listen to that person..!?). Aoi asks him who he’s talking about and Atsumori yells at him 「とぼけるな！お前の本体だ！！」(Don’t play dumb! I’m talking about your real self!!). Nazuna watches the two of them and asks in her head what Atsumori means by real self. She hesitantly calls out their name but Atsumori tells her to shut up and then tries to explain what Aoi’s situation, however Aoi tells him lowly to stop it.
Atsumori inhales sharply and Aoi tells him again to stop saying anything more, because it has nothing to do with Nazuna. She flinches at that and thinks about how it’s true, but for some reason her chest hurts. Aoi tells Atsumori that he won’t run away, but Atsumori begs for him to say what he really feels and to reveal his true feelings. He tells Aoi 「本当は逃げたい、そうだろう？」(You really want to run away, right?), but Aoi tells him softly that he already said that he won’t run away. Atsumori shakily asks him if he’s alright with that decision.
Aoi says lowly that Atsumori is annoying and that he’s not going to repeat himself anymore. Atsumori tells Aoi slowly that he’s not going to forgive him. He won’t forgive him for being alone and putting on a carefree air like this. And then Atsumori runs out of the chapel. Aoi just sighs and grumbles about how he finally fell asleep and was feeling good. He calls Atsumori an idiot and asks what is up with him. Nazuna says Aoi’s name and he looks at her and asks her why she looks like she’s about to cry. Then he asks her if she heard anything from Atsumori and she tells him that the things she heard just made her more curious and confused.
He just sighs really loudly and comments on how he hates being like this. The chime sounds and he notes it before telling her that they don’t have a date today, but due to Atsumori his sleep was interrupted, and so he invites her to come with him to look for the first star. She says his name questioningly and he looks at her seriously before apologizing for saying nothing. He adds 「でも、オレ・・・お前には・・・。」(But, I.. to you..) and then he mutters about how he doesn’t want to say it. He grumbles out 「なんだろな、この気持ち。お前、変なヤツだよ。」(What is this feeling.. You’re so weird).
Aoi confesses that he honestly feels like telling her, but he’s scared. He continues on and says 「自分で決めたことなのに、揺れちまいそうなんだ。」(Even though I’ve already made my decision.. it’s starting to shake). He whispers that wishing for something that he shouldn’t wish for makes him scared. His voice becomes stronger as he recalls that she stopped him frantically on the rooftop and when she nods at that, he whispers 「そのことを思い出すと・・・オレ・・・。」(When I remember that.. I..). There’s a long silence before he curses sharply under his breath.
When Nazuna says his name again he puts on his usual smile and says to her that they should get going before it becomes dark. Nazuna agrees softly, but she feels troubled that he’s dodging the topic again. They end up going to the courtyard and she asks him why they’re here since they won’t be able to see the first star. He tells her with a grin that there is a star and then points to the christmas tree. Then he recalls that she wanted to decorate a tree with everyone in the club, and she’s surprised that he remembered.
He tells her that most of the preparations are complete and then surprises her by climbing the tree in the courtyard. She asks him with shock what he’s trying to do and he calls out that she can see that he’s climbing. He also tells her to start catching the ornaments as he plucks them off and throws them to her, which makes her ask him what he thinks he’s doing stealing the ornaments. He laughs and tells her that it’s not like the club is going to hold it and that they’re just borrowing.
The wind is stronger the higher up he gets and he slips a few times which makes her scared and so she calls out for him. Aoi tells her that he’s fine though and then mutters about how if “he” could do it then so can he. He finally grabs something that she can’t see, since she’s on the ground, and then a branch snaps and he falls down to the ground. Thankfully, he’s not hurt at all and then he tells her to take it. It’s the star on top of the tree and she’s surprised when he blushes and says 「・・・欲しかったんだろ？てっぺんの一番星。」(.. You wanted it didn’t you? The star at the peak).
She’s embarrased at the fact that he did it for her sake and then says 「欲しかったものが手には入ったときの気持ち、たまらなく、いいもんだろ？」(The feeling you get when you have what you wanted in your hands.. it’s an irresistibly good one, isn’t it?). Nazuna blushes and thinks in alarm that if he continues to have that kind of expression on his face then she’ll.. Aoi confesses to her that he’s had the same experience that she’s going through right now. He tells her that he used to be the person to make unreasonable demands and she asks if someone brought a star to him. He looks away and tells her that his brother did.
Nazuna is shocked but then remembers that picture she saw in Aoi’s phone and that person who looked a lot like him. He explains that his brother strove hard to grand his wish, despite the fact that it was just something Aoi selfishly said and that there would be no problem if it wasn’t granted. It was just a wish of his, but even still his brother desperately strove to grant it. A light shines and she sees that he has another star in his hands and she realizes that the light must have been this one.
Aoi looks away and softly says that his brother was always like that and forgave him for any selfish thing he said. Whatever his wishes were, his brother would listen to them. He talks about every year he thinks that christmas is the worst, but when he looks at this star he wants to experience Christmas again next year. His voice becomes strained as he whispers 「それなのに、オレはどうすればいいんだよ。なあ？」(Yet, what should I do? Na?). His voice becomes lower as he says 「お前の・・・せいだ。こんな望みはオレの中では、」(It’s.. because of you that this wish.. is inside of me).
She asks him what his wish is and he looks startled to find that she’s been there listening to him, but he refuses to tell her. Suddenly, Suou appears and asks them to stop their melodrama. Aoi is startled and then narrows his eyes as he asks Suou why he’s here. Suou chuckles darkly and informs Aoi that he’s been called out again, while calling him a spare. Aoi gasps and then stutters out that he thought they wouldn’t need him until christmas. Suou says something about how it’s a command from his superior and then he asks sardonically that Aoi seems to have a lot of time to give right now.
Suou tells Aoi flatly that his permitted selfishness ends here. Aoi inhales sharply and Nazuna is shocked to find a group of men in suits come up to them. Suou smirks and tells Aoi to come with him quietly and that if he doesn’t then they’ll inject anaesthesia and carry him off like a beast. He adds that he’s sure Aoi doesn’t want Nazuna to feel sorry for him like that. Aoi curses under his breath and tells Suou that he’s a demon before saying that he understands and he’ll go with them, and so they don’t need to inject him with anaesthesia.
Aoi looks off and admits that he might be spare, but he’s also a human. Suou mockingly thanks him for his understanding before commenting on how his lack of a reaction is boring. Nazuna calls out Aoi’s name in alarm and Aoi looks at her with a serious face, but tries to cheerfully tell her that he’ll be gone for a bit. He notes how they’re still in the middle of their bet, but the other club members can pick it up for a bit. Suou orders the men to move out and they grab Aoi, who shrugs them off while snapping out that he isn’t an invalid and that he’ll walk by himself.
Nazuna is worried as she watches him go and then suddenly yells out that he can’t leave. Aoi looks back and hisses at her to be quiet, but she begs Suou to let Aoi stay until Christmas since it’s coming soon. One of the men orders her to move away but she refuses and so he punches her and her breath is knocked out. Aoi becomes angry at this and lashes out at the man who hit her before running to check up on Nazuna. Suou asks lowly if Aoi is resisting. Aoi just scoffs and tells him that if he wants him to come with them then they’ll have to win against him.
He reaches Nazuna and asks if she’s alright before telling her to stay conscious, but she can only beg for him not to go before she passes out. In her monologue, she talks about how the feeling of being able to grasp a desired thing is a feeling unparalleled. Then she thinks about how Aoi’s wish is probably something that humans all have an equal priviledge to. She recalls how it’s like when he climbed up the tree to grab the star and how he managed to grab it. Then she thinks something about being grabbed by love and living for it. THESE MONOLOGUES ARE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER (ﾟーﾟ；*).
She wakes up in the infirmary and immediately springs up yelling for Aoi, but Fuji appears and quickly shushes her. Nazuna asks where Aoi is and he tells her to calm down and that Aoi is sleeping beside her. She sighs in relief and then Fuji comments on how even though Aoi is unconscious he’s still gripping her clothes and it makes him want to laugh. Nazuna blushes as she realizes that Aoi is holding onto her clothing again.
Fuji tells her that it’s been a long time since he’s seen Aoi struggle violently and it was all because she got hit. In the end they had to inject him with a tranquilizer. She asks about Aoi’s health and Fuji tells her not to worry, because Aoi is a strong in fights. Then he asks concernedly about her stomach, since that was where she was hit, and she tells him that it hurts a little but she’s fine. Fuji just sighs while complaining about the types of people that Suou hires, but Nazuna shakes her head and says that it was her fault for refusing to move out of their way.
However, she confesses that she couldn’t let them take Aoi because she had the feeling that she wouldn’t get to see him again. She apologizes for the trouble that she caused and Fuji just sighs again before asking her why she’s deep into this mess. Then he asks her if she likes Aoi and she tells him that she’s not sure what she thinks, but all she knows is that she doesn’t want to be separated forever from him. Fuji asks her if she still feels that way even though if she hears about the situation she might not be able to do anything.
Nazuna tells him that it doesn’t matter, but she just doesn’t want to be separated. Fuji sighs and tells her that he understands and that they should talk outside because they can’t wake Aoi with their conversation. They head outside into the hallway and Fuji starts their conversation by asking her if she’s ever heard of the saviour siblings. She repeats the word and he tells her that Aoi is about to become a saviour. He tells her that Aoi was prepared for the sake of his brother’s life and then asks if she’s heard of test-tube babies.
Fuji tells her that it’s a disgusting story but to allow her to make a decision he’ll tell her about it. Aoi’s brother was born with many illnesses and so there were a lot of malfunctions of his body. His brother’s life was basically precariously on the edge of life and death. By nature, he was supposed to die as a child with a body like that. And then using the power of their social position and money, Aoi was born to be used as spare parts for his brother. Nazuna recoils at that and tells him that Aoi is a human, not something to be used as parts.
He tells her that it’s too bad, because the Kano household doesn’t regard Aoi as a human. They regard him only as components and that his existence isn’t needed in this world. And so Aoi’s body has been chopped up and same with his heart. THIS IS LIKE SOME FREAKY SCI-FI ROUTE WITH CLONES AND SPARE BODY PARTS Σ(ﾟДﾟ；)! OH GOD I DON’T KNOW WHETHER TO PUKE AT THIS OR RUN AWAY SCREAMING. AO-AOI.. ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡! Nazuna gasps at how cruel it is and Fuji agrees before telling her that Aoi’s unhappiness doesn’t stop there.
The two brothers ended up developing feelings for one another. Fuji tells her that for the older brother to watch his beloved younger brother get his body cut up and to have Aoi’s organs planted into him, it would be painful. He asks her if she were in that situation, wouldn’t she want to die? But it’s impossible and so he has to carry the burden of wanting to die. And at the same time Aoi, who is getting his body cut up, is seeing his beloved brother rejecting his sacrificed body parts. Fuji asks her if she could say it in that situation, that she would want to live.
In her thoughts Nazuna is gasping out at how her chest hurts unbearably from hearing this story. She wouldn’t be able to say it in that situation since it would be like condemning the older brother to death. Suddenly, Atsumori is heard saying that he’s sure his brother-in-law, as in Aoi’s brother, is waiting. Then he apologizes for eavesdropping and then comments on his this is a conversation she probably didn’t want to hear. When she asks him about what he meant by waiting, Atsumori explains that Aoi’s brother is waiting for Aoi to refuse to give his body to him.
But Aoi isn’t able to do that, since he loves his brother. Atsumori talks about how Aoi doesn’t have a choice in his life and has to spend the days with Suou guarding him. And that’s why he and Aoi spend most of their days playing around wildly, because the Kano family needs Aoi’s body parts and so if he died they’d be troubled. He laughs hysterically at that and then asks what there is to laugh about. Nazuna can’t help but talk about how cruel that is and Atsumori talks about how wether it’s cruel, or unforgiveable, or a cruelty from god, Aoi has to bear it all.
In her monologue, Nazuna compares Aoi’s situation to the one with her brother even though it’s a bit different. She wonders if she got caught in this bet because Aoi could relate to her situation, as she has to decide whether or not to sacrifice herself for her brother. But she’s wavering in her decision to continue to try and win the bet for her brother, since she’s falling in love with Aoi and so she directs her thoughts to the cruel god and asks what he’s granting her permission to do.
Nazuna is brought out of her thoughts by Aoi who calls out softly and notes that she’s been here all this time. She nods and then realizes that it’s already morning, so she’s been here for a day now. Aoi looks away and then apologizes for yesterday, before asking if her stomach is alright. She reassures him that she’s fine before asking about him. He comments on how he still feels the remnants of the tranquilizer, but it’s been a while since he slept so soundly.
Then he looks at her in surprise before laughing and pointing out that she has traces of drool again. Her hands fly to her face, but Aoi brushes them aside tells her that it’s right here. She hurriedly tells him not to touch her, but he smugly says that it’s too late. He flinches back when he notices her suddenly crying and he frantically tells her not to cry. He also adds that it hurts before asking her if she doesn’t want his touch so much that she’s crying. Nazuna hastily tells him that he’s wrong.
In her mind she just thinks that Aoi’s hands are so cold that it feels like he’s going to die, and it’s painful. He inhales shakily and then says quietly 「・・・お前の手、あったけぇな？」(.. Your hand.. it’s warm). She tells him that it’s because her heart is hot and his smirk is tinged with pain as he says that his heart is broken and so that’s why he’s cold. CA-CAN I JUST STOP HERE? I DON’T WANT TO DO ANYMORE ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡.
Another monologue and Nazuna says that after the whole situation happened, it turns out that Aoi is only allowed one more day to be at the school. And so she’s prepared to be with Aoi on that one day and to create good memories, because no matter what kind of fate he bears he’s still a human. He has the priviledge of creating good memories. She’s not sure if she can beat the memories of him spending time with his brother for christmas, but she just wants him to be able to have memories of a fun time.
In the clubroom she finds her attention drawn to the charm that Kakeru gave her for some reason and she thinks about how strange it is. She also notices something about it, but then the chime rings and she realizes that it’s time for her and Aoi’s last date. She wants to spend this day with Aoi being himself and her being herself.
Their date starts off in the dungeons and she asks him why they’re here, especially because she hates the dark and depressing atmosphere. Aoi tells her bluntly that he wants it to be just the two of them without any disturbances. She looks around and notes that if they’re here then people certainly wouldn’t come and disturb them. She decides that even though it’s a bit scary and she dislikes it, if Aoi wants them to be there then she’s fine. She tells him this and he loses the smirk on his face. He looks at her seriously before abruptly embracing her.
Nazuna is startled and asks him what he’s doing, but he doesn’t answer her and continues to stay silent. She notices that he doesn’t have his usual appearance of wanting to push her down, but she says his name in annoyance anyway. However, Aoi tells her quietly that he wants to remain like this for a short while. Nazuna blushes and her heart skips a beat at how helpless his voice sounds, since it’s the first time she’s heard him like this. She notes that if he was being his usual self then he’d be having fun with her resistance.
She tries to say something, but he interrupts her and asks if she wants to run away from him. Nazuna confesses that she wants to remain with him and he tells her 「いいぜ・・・オレもお前を感じてぇから。一緒に、いよーぜ・・・。」(That’s good.. because I feel the same way. Let’s be.. together..). She says his name softly and then he whispers 「お前の体温、気持ちいいんだよな・・・。」(Your temperature.. it feels nice..). Nazuna blushes at how Aoi is making her heart pound for being different from his usual self, and how he doesn’t seem to be fooling around and instead seems depressed. Nazuna gathers her courage and tells him that she’ll be with him.
Aoi inhales sharply at this and she realizes that Aoi must not be used to people truthfully saying these things, since he’s always the one who decides to do things for himself. They remain hugging and Nazuna thinks about how being in Aoi’s arms makes her feel warm and how her heart is beating rapidly. She finally tells him that he’s not being himself and when he repeats her words slowly, she nods and tells him to be more energetic since they’re on a date. He laughs brokenly at this and then asks her 「オレらしいって・・・何？」(What am I.. even like?).
Nazuna tells him that he’s the type who hates taking orders from other people, and that he doesn’t care about what other people think. And he always does things that she doesn’t want and that’s why whenever they have dates her heart is pounding. He smirks at this and she realizes that she accidently blurted something that she didn’t want to say. She says some more things and he asks her if it doesn’t feel like something he would usually do, what they’re doing right now. She tells him that it might be.
He changes the topic and says to her 「なぁ、やっぱこんなんじゃ満足しねぇ。」(Na, in the end this isn’t enough) and she tries to tell him that it’s not it, but he interrupts her and adds huskily 「じゃあ、もう少し・・・もっと、オレのこと感じろよ・・・。」(Then.. a little bit more.. feel me a bit more) and he enfolds her deeper in his arms. (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ MAYBE IT’S JUST THE WAY I TRANSLATED BUT THIS JUST SOUNDS TOTALLY PERVERTED. And then he asks once again if he’s acting out of character and she tells him that he is, because he’s the type that doesn’t listen to people. And the more they hate it the more pleased he gets.
Aoi smiles at that and says 「ひでー言われよう。」(Those are mean words) and she tells him that it’s how he always is though. He asks her if how he usually acts is the type of guy that she likes, and then he comments on how even if that’s so she’s always disagreeing with anything he does. Nazuna tells him that it’s because what he does is embarrassing.
So then he asks her if she’s fallen in love with him and she tells him that she doesn’t hate him. He looks away and mutters 「・・・んだよ。『好き』じゃねぇのか。」(.. What’s with that. It’s not “love”?) and then he looks back and softly tells her 「なあ。ずっと、このまま・・・お前を・・・。」(Na, remaining like this forever.. I.. you..).
When she says his name questioningly he shakes his head and softly laughs while rhetorically asking himself what he was trying to say. He changes the subject and tells her that he understands how she sees him now and so he’ll show her a different side to her. Nazuna looks alarmed and says his name, but he just chuckles lowly and then softly says her name. She blushes because he’s breathing against her ear and then he tells her 「オレのこと、憶えててくれ。」(Remember me). She looks at him in confusion and he adds 「オレは、もう・・・。」(I’m already..).
Nazuna shoves him away from her and yells out that she doesn’t want this kind of date. He looks at her in shock as she angrily asks him what he means by remembering him and then she tells him not to say these things that make it sound as if this is the last time they’ll see each other. He laughs softly and when she looks at him in confusion, he apologizes while noting how in the end his dates weren’t enough to make her fall for him. Nazuna has nothing to say and she thinks about how she wanted to make good memories.
They leave the dungeons and go out into the courtyard where he apologizes for not being able to spend christmas with her. She shakes her head since they didn’t make a promise and tells him not to worry and he tells her that if that’s the case then he’s relieved. But then he looks away and mutters under his breath 「でも、オレは・・・オレがいなくなったあとに・・。お前が誰かと・・・。」(But.. I.. when I’m not around.. you’ll be with… someone). Nazuna says his name questioningly but he tells her that it’s nothing and that he’s being an idiot.
She asks Aoi if she could ask him something and when he looks at her she asks him why he became the leader of the date club. He confesses that he didn’t his life to end as just a spare and that it was fun to have a place where he was just himself. He notes that she might just think it’s a stupid club which got her caught up in trouble, but to him even if it was just a little he feels happy that he was needed.
Nazuna realizes with shock that Aoi wants to live. Aoi finally says to her softly 「・・・じゃあ、な？」(.. See you.. I guess?). She watches him walk off and wonders if there’s really nothing that she can do. In the end she decides that she wants to find some way to help him.
Dessert time! Aoi is remembering back to the moment when he embraced Nazuna and how he wanted to remain like that. Then he wonders if she feels compassion for him and that if he died would she say anything. Or would she just think that his situation was sad. Aoi laughs at himself and calls himself an idiot, while questioning when he started becoming like this and thinking of his situation as being pitiable. Then he realizes that it might have been because of Nazuna, but he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know anything about himself now.
She didn’t sleep well last night and instead has been thinking of how to save Aoi, and actually not just him but everyone in the date club and her own brother. However, no matter how much she thought about it an answer hasn’t emerged yet. She decides to speak to Aoi again. She checks the time and goes to his classroom first to find him, but the girl that she asks tells Nazuna that Aoi isn’t in the classroom and hasn’t shown up all day. It’s not unusual though and his health looked bad so he might be resting.
Nazuna thanks her and then goes to the infirmary, where Fuji greets her and asks if she has an injury or if she’s feeling bad. Nazuna shakes her head and asks if Aoi showed up here, but Fuji tells her that he hasn’t and asks her why she wants to know. She reveals that she hasn’t seen his appearance all day so she’s a little curious. Fuji asks if she tried his phone, but Nazuna doesn’t have Aoi’s number. Fuji nods in thought, since if Aoi is her opponent for the bet then there’s no way that they’d trade phone numbers.
He gives her Aoi’s and Atsumori’s number, since Atsumori might know here Aoi is. Nazuna becomes curious as to why Fuji is helping her so much and he tells her that he’s a teacher and it’s his job, plus he’s cheering for her and the reason he is probably because he himself can’t be so pure and genuine. Nazuna looks at him in confusion and he tells her that he’s just talking to himself and then urges her to call Aoi soon. She thanks him again and tries, but the phone call is immediately cut off.
She’s starting to become alarmed and even Fuji notes that the situation seems to be getting worse. He tells her to return to the classroom while he checks up on the dormitory, but she refuses and tells him that she wants to help too because she’s so worried that she won’t be able to listen to the lecture. He laughs and notes that even a serious student like her can say those kinds of things and Nazuna flinches before apologizing for saying that to a teacher. Fuji just shrugs and tells her that he’s not a serious teacher anyway.
Anyway, he tells her to check the clubroom while he goes to the dormitories. They can call each other after they’re done and so he gives her his phone number. She gives him her phone number and he tells her not to be seen by other teachers. Nazuna goes into the clubroom and as she thought Aoi isn’t there and her thought start spiralling down, but she reassures herself by saying that it hasn’t been confirmed yet that Aoi isn’t here. He might be sleeping in the dormitory and then she thinks about any other place that Aoi might be.
Her phone vibrates from a call and it’s Fuji. He tells her that Aoi isn’t in his room and doesn’t seem to be anywhere around the dormitory. She apologizes for making him go out of his way like that, but he just brushes her apology aside and tells her that if he learns anything new he’ll call her. She thanks him and hangs up the call and then recalls about Aoi and Suou’s conversation about how they changed the time from until Christmas to now. Nazuna phones Atsumori and tells him that she has something she wants to ask.
She meets him at the roof and comments on how she didn’t think he’d skip his class, but he just responds by saying that he doesn’t want to hear that from someone who phoned him during class. She laughs briefly at that and then they become serious as Atsumori asks her what she wants to know. She tells him to tell her the name of the hospital where Aoi is at. He asks her why she thinks that he’s at a hospital and Nazuna explains that she heard Suou talking about it and that Aoi is going to sacrifice his body for his brother.
Atsumori hums thoughtfully and compliments her by saying that she’s unexpectedly not an idiot, but ultimately if she goes it’ll be of no use because there’s nothing she can do. He asks her if she’s going to tell Aoi not to undergo the surgery and Nazuna says that she would. Atsumori scoffs and asks her if she would say that even though Aoi chose this path. He tells her that there’s nothing they can do because Aoi’s existence is for his brother and all he can see is his brother.
Nazuna asks if that’s why Aoi doesn’t care about if he dies and Atsumori nods and says that if it’s for Aoi’s brother then Aoi will do anything, for example even dying. She protests at that and Atsumori comments on how it’s uncomprehendable, isn’t it? She shakes her head and says that it’s not that she doesn’t understand Aoi’s feelings, but she knows that he wants to live and that’s why she can’t accept it. It’s strange to sacrifice his own life if he wants to live.
Atsumori is silent before finally saying that he, who has never thought about becoming a victim for someone else’s sake, doesn’t understand, however if that’s what she thinks then she should say it to Aoi. He doesn’t know if Aoi’s mind can be changed, but it might not be a futile thing to do. She says his name gratefully and he tells her to wait because he’ll arrange for some transportation. When she asks if he’s going to come, he smirks and says that if she just went by herself then she’d be turned away. She thanks him gratefully and he tells her to stop it, because it’s giving him unsavory feelings.
He tells her that taxi will come in 30 minutes and that the surgery probably won’t be today and so they don’t have to be impatient. He notices that she isn’t paying attention and Nazuna tells him to head to the gates first, because she has something that she wants to get first. She meets back up with Atsumori and they leave in the taxt. In her monologue she explains that the thing she went to get was the star on the christmas tree. It had been returned to the top of the tree when Aoi had taken it and collapsed, and so she had once again taken it.
They get to the hospital and Atsumori explains that there are men standing outside of the room to keep Aoi from running away since that’ll be troublesome. He’s going to go and distract them and that’ll be her chance to convince Aoi. Atsumori warns her that she won’t have a lot of time though and she asks if he’ll be alright. He just smirks and tells her that there’s no better time to use the Kano name then now. He walks off and Nazuna quickly seizes her chance to run into the room when it’s presented.
She bursts into the room and calls Aoi’s name and sees him lying on the bed. In her monologue she notes how sickly he looks and how pale he is. If he undergoes the surgery then there is no doubt that he’ll die. Aoi asks her lowly what she’s doing here because there are people outside, but Nazuna interrupts him and tells him to run away. She tells him that in the end she can’t accept this, because he’ll die at this rate. And then she points out that he really wants to live, doesn’t he? Aoi falls silent and Nazuna continues to tell him to run away with her, because they can still make it in time.
Aoi tries to protest but Nazuna grabs his hand and tells him that they have to leave right now or else they’ll be seen. In her monologue she talks about how she’s lost herself to keeping Aoi alive, because she knows that at this rate he’ll die. His body might live on but his heart will surely die and she’s not going to allow that. She takes him to another room and and shuts them inside. Aoi is panting from their run and gasps out that he can’t believe how serious she was and asks her what she’s doing.
She apologizes for grabbing him like that and doing things for her own convenience, but she just can’t accept his face. Aoi stares at her before saying flatly that he doesn’t understand her and so he’s going to return. She’s shocked and asks him if he’s going to return back to that room and he tells her calmly that there’s nowhere else to return to. She tells him to wait and grabs him, but he tells her lowly to release him. Nazuna tells him that she won’t and so he tells her that if he’s not there then his brother will die.
Her response is that if he goes then he’ll die and then she tries to say something about how he shouldn’t exchange his life for someone else’s like that, but Aoi interrupts her and asks her why she’s crying. She apologizes and tries to tell him that in the end she.. but he interrupts her again and yells at her not to do things that he doesn’t understand. He angrily snaps 「お前はただの他人だろ！？オレが死んだって何ひとつ困らねぇだろうが！」(You’re just a stranger! What is there to be bothered about if I’m dead!?). His voice cracks as he says 「それなのに・・・、なんでこんなことすんだよ！？」(And yet.. why are you doing this kind of thing!?).
Nazuna snaps out that it’s because she likes him. Aoi gasps in surprise and she elaborates saying that it’s because she likes him that she doesn’t want him to die. Even if it’ll be the cause of his brother’s death she wants him to live. Aoi grits his teeth and then grabs her while asking her if she understands the meaning of what she’s saying. And then he asks her if she can have the resolution to let someone become a victim, as in the death of his brother. CONSIDERING SHE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW AOI’S BROTHER OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT HE’S USING AOI AS SPARE PARTS I THINK SHE CAN MAKE THIS RESOLUTION PRETTY EASILY Σ(＾∀＾；)!
Nazuna is silent before strongly saying that she does and that it might be egotistic, but she wants Aoi to live even if that’ll make his brother become a victim. Aoi is silent and so then she apologizes for saying selfish things, but Aoi interrupts her and kisses her. In her thoughts she notes that Aoi’s lips are really cold, and then Aoi embraces her tightly and she sees his hands trembling. Then he tells her in a shaky and teary voice 「本当は・・・死にたくない。まだ生きてたい。」(Really.. I don’t want to die. I still want to live). AOI’S VOICE HERE IS SO BROKEN AND SHAKY ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡.
He adds 「なずなとだって・・・一緒にいたい。」(If it’s you.. I want to be together). She says his name softly and Aoi tells her that he finally understands his role, the significance of why he’s here, the meaning of why he was born, and the meaning of his life up to now. He explains that he was born for the sake of his brother and he lived to be able to save his brother. His voice cracks as he says that he understands that, but he can’t stop himself from thinking about wanting to live. He tells her 「なずな・・・。オレ、まだ生きていたい。死にたくねぇよ・・・。」(Nazuna.. I want to continue living. I don’t want to die..).
*** FORBIDDEN HARD ***
She tells him that she also wants that and that she doesn’t want him to die. He breathes in shakily and says her name while hugging her tightly. In her monologue, she talks about how they embraced each other strongly as if they were protecting each other. And they touched each other to reassure that they were living although wherever she touched Aoi his skin was cold. Anyway, her monologue continues more about how she wants Aoi to live and then she wakes up naked. They consummated their relationship in the hospital room.
Nazuna wakes to Aoi beside her and she apologizes for falling asleep, but he tells her that it’s fine since she only slept for 15 minutes. Then she thanks him and he looks at her strangely while asking what for. She tells him that she was afraid she’s wake up to see him gone from beside her and that if he was then she wouldn’t know what to do. He’s looking at her intensely and she calls his name. Aoi just shakes his head and asks her if her body is alright. She tells him that it is and so then he urges her to put on her clothes before she catches a cold.
As she gets dressed she continues to look at Aoi and he looks calm even though he’s staring at the door. Their eyes meet and she notes that he has a face that looks as if he’s about to cry, but then she corrects herself and says that it looks more like a face that has a hint of being about to break. Aoi asks her what they should do from here on. She responds promptly that they should run because if they stay here then he’ll die.
He repeats the word to run quietly and then tells her that if he runs away then his brother will die. Nazuna tells him that she understands, but she points out that Aoi said so himself that he wanted to live. She begs him to come with her so that they can be together. His breath becomes shaky before he tells her that it’s impossible and that he can’t choose. If he chooses his brother then his life will be gone, but if he chooses her then his brother’s life will be gone. He yells out that he’s scared of both choices and that it’s impossible for him to decide.
Nazuna asks him why since he said so himself that he wanted to live, and if that’s the case then he should just live. She points out that he doesn’t want to be a victim, right? Aoi finally tells her to kill him and when she asks him what he’s saying, he tells her that living is too painful and so he just wants to disappear. Nazuna is stunned into silence from shock, but Aoi continues on and says that if he were to die he wants her to be the one to kill him. MY GOD STOP IT WITH THIS FUCKING INDECISION. I’VE HAD TO TYPE OUT THIS BACK AND FORTH CONVERSATION FOR LIKE FIVE PARAGRAPHS.(╬ ಠ益ಠ)
She tells him that there’s no way she could do such a thing and so he angrily tells her that he can’t bring himself to care anymore then. He tells her that if she likes him, that if she even loves him just a little bit, then she should listen to his wish. Nazuna tells him that it’s because she loves him that she can’t kill him. Aoi says to her that he’s begging her and that there’s no one else he can depend on to do this other than her.
He whispers 「オレのことを愛してるなら・・・殺してくれ。」(If you love me then.. kill me). She calls out his name in shock and he tells her calmly to use this and gives her a knife, which makes her wonder where the hell he was keeping it. He once again tells her that he’s begging her. In her monologue she talks about how the knife was glinting in front of her, but she couldn’t bring herself to take it and so Aoi grabbed her hand and made her hold onto it as well as directing it to himself.
Nazuna tells him to stop it and that she doesn’t want to do it so he should release her. Aoi tells her flatly that it’s simple and that all she has to do is slit his throat. She struggles against him and continues to refuse to do it and so finally he snaps at her and asks her why she won’t listen to him and why she can’t do it, especially if she loves him. Nazuna tells him again that it’s because she loves him that she can’t.
Suddenly there are footsteps heard outside and angry voices talking. It seems that they’ve finally realized that Aoi disappeared. Aoi mutters under his breath about how it seems the time limit has come and then he tells her that he really wanted to die by her hands. He lets go of her hand and the knife is dropped and then he starts to head toward the door which makes her yell at him to wait before asking him if he’s going to go outside.
Aoi says to her in a distant voice that he is and that it seems like his fate in the end is to die as a spare. WHAT IS YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM AOI!? I CAN UNDERSTAND BEING CONFLICTED OVER CHOICES BUT WHAT THE HELL MAN. HOW IS DYING GOING TO SOLVE ANYTHING? （╯ಠ益ಠ）╯︵ ┻━┻. WHY CAN’T YOU BE SELFISH? WHY CAN’T NAZUNA BE A BOSS AND ORDER AOI TO LIVE FOR HER? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME. She tells him that he can’t go and he tells her that they’ll be found if they remain here, and then her life won’t just end easily when she’s found to have a part in his disappearance.
She tries to protest but then footsteps come to their room and the door is opened, but it’s just Atsumori. He’s panting as he asks if this is where they’ve been, and Aoi calls out Atsumori’s name in shock, but Atsumori ignores him and tells them to go to the back entrance in 5 minutes. Atsumori is going to clear the way and lead the men in suits to look for Aoi in a different place and so they can leave by taking the back entrance in 5 minutes. Nazuna thanks him, but Aoi asks him lowly what he’s doing.
Atsumori replies that it’s simply a whim and Aoi scoffs, but drops the subject. He repeats that they need to leave in 5 minutes and then walks back out. Nazuna turns to Aoi and tells him that this is good, but he replies that it isn’t good at all. Finally, she becomes a boss and tells him that she’s decided that he’s going to definitely live and that’s why he’s going to come with her. Aoi uncertainly asks her if it’ll really be alright for him to live. Nazuna tells him forcefully that it’s obviously alright.
Aoi whispers that he doesn’t understand and she tells him that she’ll continue to say it until he does. He laughs softly and says 「・・・ククッ・・・お前らしいな。」(.. Hehe.. That’s just like you). Nazuna smiles at the fact that he finally laughed. Then Aoi exhales before telling her lowly 「・・・もういい。そこまで言うんなら、お前に全部委ねてやるよ。」(.. This is enough. If you’re going to say that much, I’ll abandon myself entirely to you). YOU’VE FINALLY RETURNED AOI! I HAD TO PUT UP WITH YOUR LOSER OF A DOPPELGANGER FOR THE PAST 4 SCENES BUT NOW YOU’RE BACK WITH THAT DELICIOUS LOW VOICE (*´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ.
She repeats his words in shock and he tells her with a serious voice 「オレの生死は、お前の手の平の上だ。・・・好きにしろ。」(My life and death are in the palm of your hands.. do with it as you wish). Nazuna accepts it and says that she understands and so she’s going to do with it as she wishes. After 5 minutes passes, she takes Aoi by the hand and they head outside. Like Atsumori promised the men in black suits are nowhere to be seen. They manage to leave the hospital and so their life on the run begins.
In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how they don’t know where the Kano family has their people and eyes and so they take care not to be seen by anyone and continue to run. She talks about how their journey is painful because they can never stay in one place for long, since they’re both frightened of meeting people’s eyes and being recognized or found. However, because it’s just the two of them living together they won’t become unhappy.
Aoi asks her what she thinks happened to his brother. Nazuna tells him that she doesn’t know, and Aoi wonders if he’s still living. She tells him that his brother is probably fine and so he shouldn’t concern himself over it. Aoi asks her if she isn’t curious and Nazuna asks about what, to which he asks if she’s curious about what happened to Wabisuke. She tells him quietly that she’s not curious or concerned. In truth, she is but she can’t say it because then they would be sharing the same pain. Aoi just hums thoughtfully.
She confesses that she’s not going to look at anything else aside from him, because her family is just Aoi. His response to that is 「・・・そっか。オレにも、もう・・・お前だけだ、なずな。」(.. I see. I also.. have no one else but you, Nazuna). She nods and then he orders for her not to die and when she looks at him in confusion, he explains that if she dies like his brother before him then he’ll quickly follow her into death. Nazuna realizes that he thinks that his brother is already dead.
Aoi’s voice becomes strong as he tells her 「だから・・・オレに生きててほしいんなら・・・お前は、オレより先には絶対に死ぬな。」(That’s why.. if you want me to live.. You will definitely not die before me). Nazuna tells him that she won’t die so long as he doesn’t want to die. Then she adds that if he dies before her then she’ll also follow him into death, so he should be relieved. Aoi blinks in confusion and she explains that it’s because she can’t let him feel lonely in death. He laughs and she asks him that she’s making it a promise. He thanks her, but Nazuna tells him that he doesn’t need to thank her, because if it’s them then that course of events is natural.
He agrees with that and then tells her to come closer to him because it’s cold. She obeys with a nod and then he forcefully says 「・・・愛してる。」(I love you), to which she responds by saying that she also loves him. In her monologue she talks about how his lips were cold and how his hands were also cold, but because he’s beside her and because he’s laid his life and death in her hands, she feels as if he’ll only look at her. Because Aoi’s world is just her, her world also consists of just him. It’ll just be the two of them together forever, including the time when they die.
*** FORBIDDEN NORMAL ***
Nazuna doesn’t ask what Aoi’s wish is because she doesn’t want to get caught up in anything, but she wonders if that’s what she really wants. Aoi just sighs and then Suou appears as usual. Everything is the same as it was in the FORBIDDEN HARD route all the way up until Nazuna brings Aoi to another hospital room to hide.
In her monologue she talks about how Aoi is holding her hand tightly and licking her tears away and then in that room they just spent time being together. Aoi calls for her attention and when Nazuna looks at him, he suddenly asks her 「お前、こんなに可愛かったっけ？」(Were you always this cute?). She asks him stutteringly and with a blush why he said that all of a sudden, but he just shrugs and says that he felt like asking it. She giggles and calls him strange, to which he responds with 「変とか言うな、馬鹿。」(Don’t call me strange, idiot).
She apologizes and then they both freeze when they hear footsteps coming, but it passes by their room. Nazuna knows that they’ll be found if they remain here though so she tells him this and he agrees, but he looks conflicted. When she prompts him by calling his name he tells her that more than she thinks he’s been happy but that there’ll be no more after this. He no longer cares though and that’s why he’s going to go.
Nazuna is shocked and tells him that if he goes then he’ll die, but Aoi tells her not to be so surprised and that the best time for a person to die is when they’re happy. Then he asks for her to also be happy and that if it can’t be helped he’ll watch over her to make sure that is. Nazuna splutters at that and then he runs out of the room. She chases after him calling for him to stop and he stops to call her and idiot before telling her that he’s not going to wait for her.
Instead, he tells her to hurry up and return to the dormitory because Wabisuke is most likely worried for her. Nazuna flinches at that before telling him that she won’t go home because she wants to be by Aoi’s side forever. He just laughs and then asks her if she loves him that much. She blushes and tells him bluntly that she does, which surprises him and also makes him blush. She repeats that she loves him and he inhales sharply at that, but then he tells her that there’s no going back because he needs to go.
Suddenly Suou is heard telling them to wait. Nazuna and Aoi are both surprised and call out his name, but Suou just tells them not to make that kind of face and the reveals that he has something that he has to say to Aoi. Nazuna is worried that at this rate Aoi won’t be able to run away, because he’s standing there echoing Suou’s words. Then Aoi laughs sardonically and then angrily tells Suou that he doesn’t need to say anything, because he already understands.
He guesses that Suou is going to tell him that if he runs away then Suou will be angry. Aoi smiles mockingly and tells Suou to be at peace because he’s not going to run away and then he asks for Suou to take him back, because that’s Suou’s wish. Nazuna begs Aoi not to do that but Suou remains silent. Aoi continues to talk and sneers at how Suou has an ill-nature to be preaching him before he dies. At this, Suou snaps at Aoi to shut up and then asks if they aren’t able to listen to what he has to say.
Aoi looks at him in confusion and then Suou reveals that Aoi’s brother refused the surgery. Nazuna and Aoi are both stunned by surprise and then Aoi frantically asks Suou what he means and why. Suou tells him that his brother doesn’t want to borrow Aoi’s power anymore. Aoi tells Suou not to fuck around with him and that he doesn’t care what happens to him, he’s already made that resolution. Suou just quietly notes that the two of them really are brothers because Aoi’s brother said the same thing. Aoi can’t understand this and asks why his brother waited until now to say it.
Suou explains that it’s because it reached this point that his brother finally decided. Aoi inhales sharply at this and then realizes out loud that at this rate his brother will die. Suou tells him that his brother has made his resolution. Aoi starts crying and curses quietly while asking why this is happening. Suou quietly calls for Nazuna’s attention and tells her 「あとは頼んだ。」(The rest is up to you). Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ I WANT A SUOU ROUTE SO BAD~! I WAS KIND OF ANNOYED AT HIM IN THE FORBIDDEN HARD BUT AS I SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED HE’S COOL TO THE END.
After Suou said his words and left, Aoi just stood there silently crying. She embraced him and he returned her embrace with enough force that it hurt. The strength of his hands on her back was proof that he was alive, but they were trembling. And then the two of them returned back to the school. Atsumori didn’t say anything to her, but she could see that he was grateful. Because she lost the bet she still has to make up the money, and so her brother can’t leave the date club, but it’s alright because he seems to be having fun.
The days pass like this until Christmas comes. Nazuna meets Aoi outside the dormitory and he grumbles about how slow she is. She apologizes because she was carrying something and he tells her that if she had been 5 more seconds late then he would have left to find other women. Nazuna gasps in shock and then he affectionately calls her an idiot before telling her that he was lying and she’s too easily tricked.
Aoi tells her 「オレはもう他のヤツとデートしたりしねえんだよ。」(I don’t want to date anyone else now) and he adds with a teasing smile 「お前がヤキモチやいちまうからな。」(Because you’ll get jealous). Then he smirks and says 「オレのこと、大好きみたいだし？」(After all, you seem to really like me). She blushes bright red at that and he laughs cheerfully before informing her that time is wasting and so they should quickly head to the town. She’s glad that he’s cheerful, but she feels a bit like he’s pushing himself.
When they pass by the courtyard, Aoi stops and sighs largely. Nazuna asks him what’s wrong and he tells her that the star on the tree isn’t there and then he asks out loud if someone is playing a prank. Nazuna blushes at this and reveals that she was the one who took it. Aoi’s mouth drops open in shock and when she shows him, he’s surprised that she was serious. Then he asks her why she took it. She explains that she wanted to give it to him and so she climbed the tree like he did.
He blushes and then hastily calls her an idiot before saying that climbing a tree isn’t something a girl should do. She laughs at that and agrees with him. Then Aoi smiles and thanks her and confesses that it makes him extremely happy. He adds that it seems like there are still things out there that he doesn’t know about that would make him happy. He thanks her again saying 「ありがとう、本当に・・・ありがとう。」(Thanks.. really.. thank you), but then his face falls and he asks 「でも・・・オレは幸せになっていいのか？」(But.. is it really alright for me to be happy?).
Nazuna softly says his name and then he asks her 「・・・生きてていいのか？」(.. Is it alright for me to live?). He confesses that without his brother then his live doesn’t seem to have a meaning. His voice trails off as he says that it can’t be helped that he’s living, yet why does he.. Nazuna interrupts him and tells him that it’s fine for him to live. She tells him that no matter what anyone else says, she wants Aoi to live.
Aoi is taken aback and then tells her that he doesn’t know if he’s allowed to think this, but at that time when he had prepared himself to undergo the surgery he had thought about what would happen after his death. He imagined seeing her with a man that wasn’t him. They were holding hands and happily smiling and laughing with the others. But when he imagined that kind of thing he didn’t want it. He mocks himself and says that he must be the worst for thinking that in that time when his brother’s death was uncertain.
He adds in a shaky voice 「でも・・・嫌だったんだ。お前を幸せにするのはオレなのに！って。」(But.. I didn’t want that. “I should be the one to make you happy!” is what I thought). He muses out loud on how strange that is for a person who is about to die to be troubled by that. Nazuna disagrees and says that it isn’t strange at all and then she confesses that she wants to be receive the happiness he gives her. He inhales sharply before vowing strongly that he’ll grant her happiness along with his brother’s share.
His vow is to 「めちゃくちゃ幸せにしてやる。」(I’ll make you unreasonably happy). Nazuna nods at that and then confesses that she also wants to make him happy. She wants to be the one over everyone else who will make him and his brother, who is in his heart, happy. Then she tells him Merry Christmas and he tearfully replies the same. In her monologue, Nazuna describes how no more words were said and Aoi lowered his face to hers. She slowly closed her eyes and then received her first kind kiss from him.
*** PURE LOVE ROUTE ***
When Nazuna hears about Aoi wanting to skip she wonders out loud if she should skip too. Aoi laughs and asks her what she’s saying since she’s an honor student, and then he smirks and says 「それとも、ここに残ってオレにまた押し倒されたいって誘ってんのかぁ？」(Or else, are you inviting me to push you down again by remaining here?). At this she tells him flatly that she’s going to leave and he sends her off with a grin. The rest of the route is the same in FORBIDDEN HARD.
Nazuna can’t bring herself to ask Aoi what his wish is and Aoi just exhales quietly. Then Suou comes as usual to take Aoi away but Nazuna prevents it. The rest of the scene is the same up to Fuji asking her if she wants to ask anything. She tells him strongly that she does, because she doesn’t want to remain in this state of not knowing anything and not being able to do anything. Fuji is surprised by how quickly she answered and then takes her out to hall to tell her about Aoi’s past and brother.
Everything continues like in the FORBIDDEN HARD until Aoi and Nazuna’s last date. When Aoi asks her if she wants to run away from him, she replies that she does and Aoi laughs bitterly before saying that he expected that because he’s not necessary to her. WHAT KIND OF PURE LOVE IS THIS? AS IN I DON’T LOVE YOU AFTER ALL Σ(ﾟДﾟ；)? Nazuna interrupts him and tells him that she didn’t mean that and so he asks her what she meant then. She stutters out that she’s confused and so he whispers 「一緒にいてくれんの・・・？」(Will you stay with me..?). Nazuna doesn’t have an answer.
Then Nazuna tells him that he’s not acting like himself and he asks her if what he’s doing right now, as in embracing her, doesn’t seem like he’s about to do what he usually does to her. Nazuna tells him that it doesn’t at all and he sighs and tells her that she doesn’t have a sense of humor and then mutters that it’s a shame. She explains in a hurry that he’s not doing anything like restraining her and he notes that it does seem to be like that.
After she talks about how he’s the type of person to ignore what people want and to cause them embarrassment as well as do things that they dislike, he asks her if that’s her type of guy and if she’s fallen in love with him. Nazuna tells him that what he’s saying as nothing to do with the conversation and he laughs sharply before asking if she’s just being nice then. She tries to stutter out that he’s wrong, but he interrupts her and tells her that it’s alright like that. She says his name in surprise, but he just repeats that it’s fine in a strained voice. The rest of the date and route is the same as the FORBIDDEN HARD.
Dessert time! Aoi thinks about how it would be nice to spend the christmas with Nazuna, but he knows that he can’t do anything. He tries to convince himself that Nazuna’s invitation was just extended out of surprise and then he talks about how his heart hurts from that, but in the end his brother is more important than anything else. And that’s why he’s not going to be able to protect his promise to spend christmas with her.
Then he thinks about how it should be natural for promises to be broken, especially since he always does things out of his own convenience. But because it’s Nazuna he can’t bring himself to be as selfish as he always is with his promises. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS ROUTE.. PLEASE DON’T LET AOI DIE Σ(ﾟ×ﾟ；).
Nazuna is rolling around in her bed and realizes that in the end she can’t sleep because she’s worried about Aoi undergoing surgery tomorrow and if that happens then she’ll never see him again. She really wants to see him now even though it’s 11pm because she can’t just let them be parted like this and do nothing. She exits the dormitory and breathes in the cold hair while thinking that there’s not much she can do, but she wants to see Aoi’s face at this time so much that it’s unbearable.
She thinks that she might be able to see him tomorrow, but she has the feeling that if she doesn’t meet him now then she won’t ever see him again. The feeling makes her depressed. At any rate, she’s nervous about sneaking into the boy’s dormitory and tells herself that she can’t be seen, but suddenly she hears a voice mutter about how cold it is. It turns out to be Aoi who is just as surprised as she is when they see each other.
Aoi asks her what she thinks she’s trying to do at this time and she tells him that she wants to ask the same thing, since he’s walking around outside in the middle of the night. He tells her exasperatedly 「いや、だからそれオレの台詞。」(No, that’s why that’s my line), but then he shrugs and says that it’s fine anyway since that means he doesn’t need to sneak into the girl’s dormitory. Nazuna asks him what he means by that and he tells her 「お前に会いに行こうと思ってたんだよ。」(I thought about going to meet you).
When she looks at him in surprise he confesses that he couldn’t sleep and that 「そしたらなんでか、すげーなずなに会いたくなって。」(And then for some reason, I really wanted to meet you). Nazuna blushes and asks him why, but Aoi doesn’t know himself other than the fact that when he sees her face he feels sleepy. Then he asks her why she left her dormitory at this time and where she’s going, but when she tries to stutter out an answer he smirks and says 「もしかしてお前もオレの部屋に忍び込もうとしてたとか。」(Could it be that you were also going to sneak into my room?).
Nazuna frantically tells him that she wasn’t going to sneak into his room, but that she just wanted to see his face and meet him. He hums thoughtfully and then she points out that it’s cold and so they should go somewhere else. Aoi hesitantly asks if she wants to go to his room then. When Nazuna recoils in surprise, he points out that she came here to see him and so it should be fine. She confesses that she didn’t want to just see his face and return home, but she also wasn’t going to enter his room.
Aoi mutters under his breath 「なんだ、つまんねぇの。」(What’s with that, how boring) but then he cheers up and tells her that they can head to the chapel then since no one will stop them from entering. Then he says 「ほら、手貸せよ。暗いし危ねぇから。」(Here, give me your hand. It’s dangerous becasue it’s dark). She slowly agrees and then thinks about how his hand is cold, but she doesn’t want it to be gone when tomorrow comes. When they reach the chapel Aoi talks about how it’s just as cold or even more cold than the outside.
She looks around and tells him that the atmosphere is different in the night. He asks her if she’s scared, but she tells him that she’s fine and that she actually thinks that it’s beautiful and full of mystery. Aoi recalls that the end of a story had this feeling too. When she asks him what kind of story he explains that it’s a story about a poor kid and his dog. He watched it on the television. Nazuna is surprised that he watched those kinds of things and he tells her that it was a children’s story and he felt like it was similar to him.
In that story, the last scene was also on a cold night like today. When the angels came to take the kid and his dog up to heaven it looked really fun and Aoi confesses that as a kid he thought that if he dies like this then there’s nothing to be afraid of. Nazuna is silent before asking him if he’s realyl going to undergo the surgery. Aoi tells her that it’s obvious because if he doesn’t then his brother will die. She protests that in exchange Aoi will die then, but he just tells her that there’s a risk and he’s fine with that.
Nazuna tells him that she doesn’t understand how he can just say those kinds of things. He explains that he knows that his existence was born for his brother, but his brother was the only one out of everyone who didn’t look at him as spare parts but as a proper younger brother. Even though his brother had a weak body, he pushed himself to grant Aoi’s wishes. His voice falls into a whispers as he confesses that his brother was his salvation as he lived the life of a spare, and so Aoi will do anything he can to save him.
She says his name quietly and then he laughs briefly before musing out loud about how she probably can’t comprehend it, but she tells him that she can because she also has a precious brother. But it’s also because of her brother that she thinks he might be mistaken. Aoi asks her dangerously what she means and she tells him that she’s sure his brother is also thinking the same thing about Aoi and that he wants Aoi to be happy and live, because they’re siblings and those thoughts are normal.
Aoi tells her to stop it because those words sound like someone is just twisting things to suit their own convenience. She tells him that she might be wrong, but that if she were his brother’s position then she’d think the same thing about wanting Aoi to live. Then she asks if he wouldn’t think the same thing, but Aoi snaps at her and raises his voice to ask what she thinks she knows. He shouts about how she’s not him and so she doesn’t know anything about his situation.
Nazuna flinches at this but presses on and tells him that it’s true she’s not him and so she can’t place herself in his situation, and so that’s why she’ll say this from her position. She wants Aoi to live because she loves him. He gasps, but Nazuna continues on and tells him that his brother also loves him and so his brother would think the same thing. Aoi is stunned into silence and then sinks down to the ground which frightens Nazuna as she asks him what’s wrong and if his health is bad. He tells her 「ちげぇよ・・・お前のせいだろーが。」(No.. it’s because of you).
She apologizes for saying something so selfishly, but Aoi steps closer to her and tells her that she’s wrong and that it’s just because she said something so strange. Nazuna blinks in confusion before she smiles and points out that his face is bright red. He tells her not to say that and grumbles at how his composure is broken. She wonders if he’s embarrassed and asks him if it’s because of her confession. Aoi tells her that when she says it so frankly like that, of course he would be embarrassed. Then he tries to say something to her but when she questions him, he tells her not to stare at him like that.
Finally, he huffs and says that he can’t do it anymore and he can’t look at her face, because he’s so embarrassed. He steps away from her and then becomes serious as he returns to the topic about how what she said might be true, and that if their positions were reversed then he would also want his brother to live. Nazuna nods in support, but Aoi looks away and whispers that in the end he still doesn’t want his brother to die. He asks her desperately what he should do but just as she says his name the door slams open and Suou appears.
In her monologue she talks about how Suou is walking slowly towards them with his usual cool expression on. Beside her she can hear Aoi’s breathing become laboured, but still Suou approaches them one step at a time. Nazuna hurriedly asks Suou not to take Aoi away and tells him that she knows Aoi is necessary to his brother, but even still she doesn’t want Aoi to go. Aoi looks at her in shock, but Suou ignores her and tells Aoi to take something because it’s for him. Nazuna is relieved to see that it’s just a phone and that Suou isn’t going to take Aoi away.
Aoi grumbles under his breath asking what this is because he has a terrible feeling. Suou just tells him to hurry up and answer the phone because there’s no time. And so Aoi answers the phone and it turns out to be his brother. There’s a one-sided conversation where Aoi asks if his health is alright enough to talk on the phone and then he gasps in shock before asking frantically what his brother is suddenly saying. He yells at his brother asking him what he’s trying to do by saying his last goodbyes. Aoi’s voice cracks as he tells his brother not to apologize, because if his brother does then he’ll feel pained for his brother.
He laughs shakily and says tearfully that he understands because they’re both thinking the same thing in this situation. Then he agrees softly with something and tells his brother that he thinks the same thing. The phone calls ends but Aoi still doesn’t stop gripping the phone and he doesn’t move. Nazuna asks Aoi what his brother said and Aoi repeats brokenly that his brother said that he’s sorry for everything up to now and he thanks Aoi for everything. Nazuna gasps in shock.
Then Aoi turns to Suou and asks Suou to take him with him to the hospital since he knows that Suou is going to return. Suou’s face is pained as he tells him that even if they went it’d be useless, because his brother already no longer has the health to withstand the surgery. Suou also adds that they can’t separate Aoi’s brother from his resolution to die. Aoi just tells him flatly that this has nothing to do with the surgery, but that he just wants to see his brother. Not as spare parts but as a younger brother.
He adds that it might be futile but there’s still meaning in that. Suou laughs softly but tells Aoi that a car is waiting outside and that if he wants to go then he needs to come quickly. In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how she feels like she knows Aoi’s precious brother now and she hears Aoi talk about his brother with a teary smile, and then he follows after Suou and disappears into the night from the school.
Then after a few days Aoi still hasn’t returned to the school and she’s a little worried with thoughts of him maybe undergoing the surgery or some other thing happening. It makes her impatient for him to come back but she knows that he has to make resolutions with his brother’s death since they were close siblings and so she tells herself that she’ll continue to wait for Aoi. Nazuna is on the rooftop when she gets a phone call from Atsumori. He tells her that his brother-in-law has finally passed away and she asks about Aoi.
Atsumori informs her that Aoi is still in the hospital and still standing beside his brother’s bed. He adds that he doesn’t know if Aoi is just putting on a strong front for her, but there’s no doubt that he’s damaged inside. Atsumori is going to return back to the school today, but he doesn’t know when Aoi is. But he asks her if she’ll wait for Aoi. Nazuna smiles and tells him that it’s obvious she’ll wait for him. There’s a smile in Atsumori’s voice as he tells her he understands and then he apologizes but he’s being called for and so he’ll cut the phone call.
Nazuna thanks him for the phone call and then thinks with a smile that Aoi won their bet. From the rooftop she can see the christmas tree, but there’s no longer a star on it. However, she doesn’t mind that because the star is in her hands and as she stands on the rooftop she looks at it.
*** PURE LOVE HARD ***
In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how Aoi finally came back but he wasn’t his usual self. He was lethargic and apathetic to everything as if he were in some deep depression. She wonders how about how painful it is to lose a precious person. She tries to imagine if her brother died and she feels painful, but even she understands that it probably can’t compare to the pain that Aoi is feeling. She goes up to the roof and wonders if he’s there it turns out that he is and he’s staring at the sky silently.
She notes that hasn’t spoken to a lot of people at all and she realizes painfully that she can’t seem to do much at all. Suddenly Aoi speaks up and tells her that after his brother died, he had wondered about whether he would become free. But he was wrong, because without his brother around then his life has no meaning. He’s not looking at her as he whispers about how he had thought that he wanted to live and that he wished for it. However, because the person who absolutely needed him is no longer alive then his existence has no meaning.
Nazuna tries to protest to his words, but Aoi just overrides her and continues on to say that the meaning of living is profound. In the end, he was living for his brother’s sake and that’s probably why he wanted to live. She desperately tells him that it’s a lie and that he’s wrong, but he chuckles softly and tells her that he’s not wrong. He adds 「オレん中になんて、なんにもねぇんだよ。スゲィ、空白。」(There’s nothing inside of me anymore. It’s extremely blank). He continues on and talks about how his chest is completely empty and how interesting it is that he doesn’t feel anything.
She angrily tells him that it’s not interesting at all and asks him how long he’s going to live thinking like that. And how long he’s going to be alone caught up in thoughts about his brother. Aoi asks her flatly what’s wrong with that and tells her that she doesn’t understand anything. Then he tells her that how he lives his life is no business of hers. Nazuna steps up to him and slaps him across the face. WHILE I APPLAUD YOUR BOSSY ATTITUDE I’M NOT SURE IF YOU NEEDED TO DO THAT YET. EVEN I WASN’T ANGRY AT HIS BROTHER-ANGST YET.. IT’S NOT AS BAD AS HIS FORBIDDEN ROUTE YET Σ(＾∀＾；).
Nazuna tells him not to think about these things at his own convience about how he has no reason to exist because the person who needs him is no longer there. Aoi angrily yells at her to shut up and not to talk as if she understands. She snaps at him and tells him that she doesn’t understand his feelings, but there is a person who thinks about him the same way that his brother did. He growls out that he doesn’t know that person and that he doesn’t want that person. She flinches but tells him that she considers him important.
Aoi asks her furiously if she’s trying to become a substitute for his brother and Nazuna tells him that she does. He’s taken aback by this and falls silent and she tells him hesitantly that she’s not sure if she can take his brother’s place, however Aoi interrupts her and tells her that he doesn’t want it and he orders her to leave him alone before he runs off.
In her monologue she talks about how there are a lot of people who think of Aoi as being necessary like Atsumori, the date club, the teachers, the school, and the students. She also that despite what Aoi thinks there’s also someone left who loves him and that it’s her. She bumps into him in the hallway but he tells her not to come close to him and runs off. She wonders in pain if it’s going to continue like this where she can’t approach him.
Nazuna goes into the clubroom and asks if anyone in here has spoken to Aoi, but none of them have. Wabisuke asks if she’s troubled by her fight with Aoi, and she tells him that she is, but he tells her that it’s not her fault if his attitude doesn’t change and so she shouldn’t worry about it. Daria agrees and tells her that if she said the things she wanted to say then the next step is up to the person. Fuji tells her that from his position as a doctor she should leave Aoi alone since he won’t listen to anyone’s words during this time.
Everyone in the club is worried for Aoi and Nazuna thinks that it would be nice if he returned to them quickly. Suddenly, Kazuya bursts into the room and calls for Fuji to come with him. Nazuna is shocked at his appearance and asks him what’s happening since his clothes are covered in blood. Fuji also asks him what happened and Kazuya explained that Aoi slit his wrists. (ﾟДﾟ )ﾊｧ?… ヾ( ﾟдﾟ)ﾉ゛ﾊｧｧｧｧｧ･･･････! Fuji quickly asks about the situation and Aoi’s condition.
Kazuya tells him that it’s considerably deep and that Aoi is in his room in the dormitory. Suou is with him and the ambulance has been called. Fuji acknowledges this and tells everyone else to remain here and then he and Kazuya leaves. Nazuna is hyperventilating and saying that this can’t be happening and so Wabisuke tells her to calm down. Atsumori is gritting his teeth and tries to leave, but Seri stops him and tells him that even if they go they can’t do anything. Atsumori snaps out that he’s Aoi’s family and runs out.
Nazuna tries to follow him but Wabisuke holds her back, however Daria intervenes and tells Wabisuke to let go and so Nazuna finally escapes. She runs out onto the soccer field and sees Aoi’s pale face which makes her think that she had thought she wouldn’t ever see it again. Atsumori is shocked to find her here and she tells him that she wants to go with him too and he allows her too.
In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how Aoi’s life managed to be saved. However, everyone in the club received a great shock because even though they were waiting for him, he tried to end his own life. She’s standing outside of Aoi’s hospital room and is unsure if she should go in or not, but suddenly the door opens and Atsumori tells her that there’s only Aoi in there and so they can talk slowly. She thanks him quietly and he leaves. When she enters the room Aoi greets her softly. She notices the bandages around his wrist and asks him if he’s alright, to which he replies that he somehow is.
They both fall silent and Nazuna wonders what she should say, but Aoi suddenly tells her that when he was about to die he became really scared. Even though he did it himself, when he understood too late that his life was about to end he suddenly remembered her face. Nazuna looks at him in shock and Aoi continues on saying that then he felt regret. He softly laughs at himself after this. Then Aoi confesses that when he was death’s door his brother came and preached to him asking him what he thought he was doing.
He chuckles and asks her if he’s an idiot since in the end his brother turned him away again. Nazuna tells him quietly that his brother is a wonderful person. Aoi agrees softly and she starts crying. Then Aoi confesses that at that time he knew well what his brother wanted to say. Something about how he still has an attachment left in the world and that Nazuna is his most highest attachment. Nazuna can’t stop crying and it’s not because she’s sad, but that she’s really happy for some reason.
Aoi looks at her intensely before blushing and asking her 「オレと、一緒に生きていってくれるか・・・？」(Will you.. live together with me..?). She looks at him in shock but then tells him that she will in a strong voice. He thanks her quietly and Nazuna thinks in her head of how she wants to live with him and how she wants to be together with him. Aoi suddenly chuckles and tells her to stop crying because it makes her face ugly. She tells him to shut up, but he tells lowly that he can see her hiding her embarrassment.
Nazuna thinks about how if he continues to pat her head with that gentle face then she won’t be able to stop crying. Afterwards, they returned to the school and the rest of the club members had a lot of things to say to him like calling him an idiot, but also spending time laughing and smiling together. Their days passed like that and then spring came. Nazuna is on the soccer field telling Aoi excitedly that the sakura trees are beautiful.
He agrees with her but then laughingly tells her not to frolic around like that, but she tells him that it’s too wonderful not to. In her mind s he thinks about how being able to see the sakura with Aoi makes her happy. Aoi says her name quietly and then embraces her tightly. He tells her softly that he threw away the Kano family’s name, because there’s no one other than his brother that he wants to call family. He had to ask Atsumori for help, but leaving them was the best thing. Aoi confesses that from now on he wants to live without being entangled in that house.
Nazuna nods and thinks about how this must have been necessary for Aoi be able to live strongly alone without being a substitution for anyone. She thinks that it’s good that he made this decision. Also, she’ll always be by his side and they’ll live together. She doesn’t want him to experience his sadness a second time and that’s her vow. She tells him that it tickles, but Aoi just huskily tells her 「これくらい、ガマンしろよ・・・これからずっと一緒なんだからな。」(You’ll have to endure this.. because from now on we’ll be together).
Then he adds 「こんなこと、しょっちゅうしてやる。」(This thing, I’ll be doing it constantly) and Nazuna just sighs in exasperation. His voice becomes teasing as he asks 「もしかして、もっと激しいのがいいのかよ？」(Could it be that you want something more intense?) and then 「それとも、言葉攻めのほうが好きってか？」(Or, do you love being attacked with words?). Nazuna gasps in shock, but Aoi just whispers lowly 「いいぜぇ。どっちだってお前の好きにやってやる。」(That’s fine. Whichever one you like I’ll do it to you). Nazuna tells him with a stutter not to whisper that in her ear.
Aoi asks her lowly if she doesn’t like it, but Nazuna just tells him that it’s because it’s embarrassing. Aoi chuckles and asks her when she’ll get used to it and then he asks her when she’ll accept his actions. Nazuna stutters out that she doesn’t understand what he means, because wasn’t she allowing him to do it before? He pouts and tells her that he can’t wait, but she tells him to wait because they’re going to be together from now on and so she’ll grow accustomed to him.
He sighs and mutters about how he’s no match for her, but then his voice becomes soft as he says that 「・・・そうだな。ずっと、一緒だ。いつまでも、ずっと・・・。」(.. That’s right. We’ll always be together. No matter what, for a long time..). (ﾉ´∀｀*)ﾉ I REALLY LIKED THIS ENDING FOR SOME REASON. IT MADE MORE SENSE FOR HIM TO SINK INTO DEPRESSION THAN FOR HIM TO ASK NAZUNA TO KILL HIM SO I DON’T MIND THE WAY THE WRITERS WROTE HIM. THIS ENDING MANAGES TO SHOW AOI’S MYSTERIOUS BROTHER BEING ALL AWESOME TOO.
*** PURE LOVE NORMAL ***
Nazuna doesn’t ask what Aoi’s wish is because she doesn’t want to get caught up in anything, but she wonders if that’s what she really wants. Aoi just sighs and then Suou appears as usual. Everything is the same as it was in the PURE HARD route up until she gets the phone call from Atsumori about the death of Aoi’s brother and how Aoi is still at the hospital.
In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how Aoi finally came back to school and he threw away the Kano family’s name. Then she goes to find him in the chapel and she makes conversation about how the stained glass is beautiful, while Aoi gives her monosyllabic answers. Suddenly, he tells her that he doesn’t believe in god at all but he’s wondering about whether or not his brother is having fun up there. He comments on how if he’s here it feels like he’s closer to his brother.
She agrees with him quietly and thinks about how his sadness won’t disappear quickly, but Aoi has a really calm face. He confesses that it’s thanks to his brother that he became free. All this time he felt as if he were living for the sake of his brother’s life, but his brother released him. Now that he’s become alone, the feeling of living makes him excited. Nazuna smiles and knows that she can’t say anything about how glad she is, but she does tell him that she’s happy he’s returned.
Aoi says her name quietly and then he embraces her tightly. He tells her that he doesn’t think she was mistaken at that time when she told him that his brother was probably thinking about how he wanted Aoi to live. He mutters under his breath that he and his brother were most likely thinking the same thing. Nazuna tells him that he’s holding her too tightly and it hurts, and so Aoi apologizes to her and notes that it seems like he still hasn’t calmed down. His voice is quiet as he says 「急にひとり、だからさ。」(Because I’ve suddenly become alone..).
However, he inhales slowly and tells her 「・・・けど。こうしてると、やっぱいいよなぁ・・・。」(… But, as I thought it feels good to be like this..). Nazuna’s eyes widen in shock and she yells at him not to touch strange places. Aoi’s voice is low as he tells her 「変なとこって、ドコだよ？」(Where exactly is a strange place?). She growls angrily and punches him while telling him not to change the mood. Aoi bursts out laughing and tells her that it’s been a while since he saw her bright red face.
When she sees him laughing she feels relieved that he’s returned to being the usual Aoi again and so she starts laughing as well, which makes him ask her teasingly if she’s actually happy with what he did. Nazuna just ignores him and points out that he’s returned. He agrees quietly and then she asks him what he’s going to do from here now that he’s split from the Kano family. He doesn’t know himself because everything he’s done so far has been for the goal of trying to trouble the Kano family. Now he doesn’t know what he should do.
Nazuna hums thoughtfully and then asks if there’s anything that he wants to do, like a dream. He laughs a bit and confesses that he’s never thought about a dream to achieve, because he’s always known that he was going to die. Nazuna asks him that he has to have something though, like something he likes. He reveals slowly that he likes music, since he likes to sing songs that he’s heard. Nazuna happily thinks that his voice sounds wonderful already and so she wants to hear him sing. Anyway, so she suggests for him to enter the music club.
Aoi thoughtfully tells her that he could do that, however he tells her excitedly that if it’s him then he could perform an amazing debut and enter the world of show business. Nazuna blinks before asking him in shock if that isn’t too big, but Aoi asks her if dreams aren’t supposed to be grand since that’s what is written in mangas. She just tells him flatly that those are mangas but in her mind she’s smiling since it’s such an Aoi-like thing to say. Then he excitedly asks if they should do street live performance.
Then he talks about how he definitely won’t lose to Daria at this and thinking about it just makes him excited. He asks if she’ll look forward to it and Nazuna tells him that she will, but her face looks depressed and he asks her why her mood is bad. She tells him that if he does that then even apart from school he’ll be surrounded by a lot of fangirls. In her mind she thinks about how she doesn’t really want that. Aoi is blushing a bit but then he asks her teasingly why she has a sullen face on. Nazuna tells him that it’s nothing.
He sighs and asks her why she’s worrying now of all times about that. He muses out loud with amusement that she must truly be an idiot. Nazuna angrily tells him that he’s being rude, but Aoi just tells her gently 「心配する必要なんか、ねーってわかってんだろ？」(You should know that there’s no reason to worry). Nazuna blushes and nods quietly while noting that he has a really kind smile on his face. Then she tells him that she’ll definitely cheer Aoi on, because if it’s him then there’s nothing that he can’t do. In her mind, she talks about how she didn’t think that this day would come. She’s happy even though she lost the bet, but that’s something that has already ended.
The next scene is Atsumori commenting on how he heard that Aoi was going to be a singer. Aoi angrily mutters out of the side of his mouth why she revealed it to everyone and she tells him hesitantly that it’s because she was happy for him. Aoi snaps that she shouldn’t have told Atsumori at least because then he’ll be mocked. Atsumori tells him that he’s not really laughing, but chuckles are slipping out of his mouth. Aoi points out that he’s laughing right now and calls him “damned glasses”.
Fuji tries to calm the two of them and tells Aoi that Atsumori is pleased for him, which makes Aoi ask him with sarcasm where Atsumori is pleased for him. Seri comments on how it’s surprising for Aoi to want to be a singer and then asks if he’s going to do visual kei. Aoi tells him not to decide that just from looking at him, but Seri asks him innocently if he’s wrong, which makes Aoi mutter with embarrassment that he’s not exactly wrong. Seri chuckles and Aoi becomes angry again and points out that he’s also laughing while calling him a “little brat”.
Wabisuke tells Aoi that it’ll be fine because he’ll succeed and be a hit, but Aoi just tells him to shut up and be quiet while calling him a “half-wit”. Wabisuke’s reply is to fake sob and say 「わ、笑ってないのにひどい。・・・なずな、今の、とばっちりだよね？」(I-I didn’t even laugh.. so mean!.. Nazuna, right now, you saw that blow?). Nazuna nods and apologizes to her brother. Meanwhile, Daria is sighing about how no one has changed. Aoi just grumbles under his breath and flops into a sofa to sulk, but Nazuna understands that this is how they show their affection to one another.
Daria suddenly tells Aoi that if he’s serious then she’ll introduce him to some singers that she knows. She tells everyone that she thinks Aoi has a high chance of making it to the stage and Aoi thanks her sincerely. Atsumori adds that he’ll also ask Daria for that favour, because if Aoi has thrown away the Kano name then his pride is on the line now. Then he also adds that the thought of seeing Aoi on the stage.. Atsumori bursts out laughing.
Aoi angrily yells out Atsumori’s name, which makes Atsumori ask him what and then he teases him by saying that since he’s going to be singing anyway, why doesn’t he try singing now. Or is he embarrassed? Aoi asks Atsumori if he’s trying to make fun of him. Fuji comments on how the siblings are fighting and that they’re so close to one another. Seri adds that Atsumori is hiding his feelings and that he should just be honest and support Aoi. This makes Atsumori ask him lowly if he wants to cry. Seri tells him that he’d rather not.
Anyway, Aoi sighs in exasperation before finally informing everyone that he’s going to leave the school. Nazuna gasps in surprise and Aoi tells her gently not to be so shocked, since he left the family he doesn’t want to remain like this forever, especially since he’s decided on what he’s going to do. He adds that he can’t be trapped out here in the mountain recesses. Nazuna realizes that what he’s saying is true, but she becomes depressed at the thought that they can’t stay here together like this forever.
Wabisuke tells her that it’s not something to be depressed over since it’s what Aoi chose. She softly says her brother’s name before brightening up, because she already decided that she’ll cheer Aoi for whatever he wants to do. Aoi becomes serious and tells Daria that he’ll be relying on her and that he doesn’t know how far he can go, but he wants to work using his own power. Fuji tells Aoi that his speech was good and if he’s now more of an adult.
Aoi tells him that he was never a kid, but Fuji laughs and says that to him Aoi is still a kid. Then he tells Aoi that he’ll handle Aoi’s resignation from school. Wabisuke tells Aoi to enjoy the rest of the time he has here at school and Seri agrees. Aoi nods and says that he understands. Nazuna watches them all and feels extremely happy that everyone is supporting Aoi.
In her monologue, Nazuna talks about how after everything was decided the days passed quickly. She and Aoi spent their remaining time together, but she couldn’t help but continue to think about Aoi having to leave soon. She couldn’t reveal her thoughts to him though or else it’ll trouble him, and so she concealed her loneliness. And so the days passed until it was finally spring and the day finally came when Aoi was to leave.
They’re standing in the courtyard and Nazuna comments on how it’s warm. Aoi quietly agrees and then they both fall silent. She doesn’t know what else to say now. She wants to cheer him on, but she’s sad because the school will be different and they won’t be able to have these kinds of exchanges anymore. He chuckles and when she looks at him, he tells her not to cry. She blushes and tells him that she’s not crying and tries to force a smile on her face.
However, Aoi tells her quietly that at last they’ve reached the day when they have to part from the school. She’s silent and so he tells cheerfully not to make that kind of face because it’s not like they’re breaking up. She mutters that it’s true, but her face is still down and so Aoi steps closer to her and tells her 「・・・ったくよ！暗い顔すんなっつーの！」(Geez.. don’t make such a sorrowful face!) and then he picks her up bridal style. I THINK I’M TOTALLY SPOILED BY AOI~ (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ! THIS WAS DEFINITELY A GOOD CHANGE FROM THE CRAZY WABISUKE ROUTE WHICH HAD NO HAPPY ENDINGS.
Nazuna squeals in surprise and says his name, but he just asks if she’s ever had this done to her, being carried bridal style. She stutters out that she hasn’t, but then asks him why he’s doing this all of a sudden. He just ignores her and says 「ん？なずな、ちょい重い？」(Hn? Nazuna, aren’t you a bit.. heavy?). She gasps in shock and calls him a liar before telling him to put her down. Aoi bursts out laughing before telling her 「ははっ、冗談だって。軽い、楽勝。」(Haha, I’m kidding. You’re light, so it’s no strain).
She asks if he’s saying the truth and he answers 「ああ。つーか、下ろさねぇ。」(Yep. Also, I’m not going to put you down). When she looks at him questioningly he tells her 「ホンとは、このまま連れてっちまいたいけど。」(I really want to carry you off like this) and adds 「どこにいても・・・。」(Regardless of the place..). His voice becomes low and serious as he says 「お前はオレのものだ。この両手でいつもお前のこと抱いてる。」(You’re mine. I always want to use both these hands to embrace you). Then he adds 「そしてその腕に、今度は夢を掴んでみせる。」(And then in these arms, next time I’ll grab my dream). He tells her that he’s going to decide everything in his life and he’ll be holding her hand as he does it.
His voice becomes cheerful as he says 「すっげぇ、いい気分。生きるってこういうことなんだな。」(This is such an amazing feeling. So this is what it means to live). Nazuna smiles happily and tells him that his brother is watching over him right now and he’s most likely pleased at this. Aoi agrees and tells her that the next time he goes to the place where his brother is he’ll tell his brother that he managed to do it all. Then he softly says her name and asks her if she’ll always watch him as he does it all by his own power. Nazuna nods and tells him that she’ll definitely watch him. Aoi quietly thanks her.
Then he tells her that the time is coming for him to go and she quietly agrees. Suddenly he says to her 「あ、オレがいねぇからって変な男とデートなんかすんなよ？」(Ah, when I’m not around don’t go dating strange guys). Nazuna splutters out that she wouldn’t do such a thing because they won’t be Aoi. He laughs at her and affectionately calls her an idiot while saying that he won’t take notice of any woman other than her, either. Although he can’t make a definite promise. Nazuna looks at him in shock and he bursts out laughing before telling her that he was just lying.
Nazuna sighs in exasperation, but then Aoi tells her that he’ll be leaving now. He’s going to come back to play with her though, when the after school chime rings. He’ll also come to tease the date club members. She grumbling asks him if he’s going to pick another fight with them and he smugly tells her that it’s alright, because it’s an honor to get in a fight with him. She laughs at that and comments on how he never changes.
At this Aoi says softly 「お、やっと笑ったな。」(Oh, you finally laughed) and then he adds 「・・・そうやって笑ってけ。そうしたら、オレもずっと笑ってるから。」(… smile just like that. That way, I will also be smiling). Nazuna agrees happily and in her monologue she talks about how the two of them continued to smile a lot amidst the sakura petals. And then in the spring wind Aoi left the school. Nazuna thinks that with this, Aoi is going to become a stronger and more wonderful person. She’s going to make sure of it by being by his side.
Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ 萌えぇぇぇぇ I THINK I REALLY LOVED AOI’S ROUTES IN THE END EXCEPT MAYBE HIS FORBIDDEN ONES. FOR SOME REASON HIS FORBIDDEN ONES WERE MORE BITTERSWEET SINCE THEY ALL INVOLVED AOI BEING MORE TORN UP OVER HIS BROTHER’S DEATH WHILE IN THE PURE ROUTE HE ACCEPTED IT AND MOVED ON. THEY’RE ALL LOVELY THOUGH. HE’S STILL MY FAVORITE CHARACTER BUT IT’S NOT REALLY FAIR TO COMPARE HIM TO THE FOREVER RUINED WABISUKE (＾∀＾；).
