CV: Kishio Daisuke (岸尾 だいすけ)

First Impressions: His last name.. (。_。). His favourite line is also 「やれやれ」 which is sort of an onomatopoeia to imply annoyance. He appears to have come from another place and he has the most knowledge out of everyone. He has enormous self-esteem and he doesn’t have problems with breaking as many laws as he needs to in order to achieve his goals. His fighting style involves magic and magical guns.

Nico’s back story starts with him coming to the holy shrine in Ingrid, on the continent of Anelheid 「アーネルハイド」(A-neruhaido). The god in Ingrid is the god of snow and ice and so the town’s waters are freezing. He sighs heavily and talks to himself about how he thought this place had changed, but it’s still the same and as boring as always. He doesn’t want to stay long but it seems like he doesn’t have a choice.

*** EPISODE 0 ***

Right now, other places are being engulfed in catastrophes but no one seems to notice it but him. That’s why he’s here in Ingrid because he wants to investigate. Ingrid doesn’t have the feeling of calamity like the other places have, but he’s unsure of how long it’ll stay like this. He’s not overly worried though since he’s confident in being able to find and stop the source even if it’s a big calamity.

But in order to do that he needs to collect a lot of data. Just as he tries to decide where he should start investigating first, something bumps into him. It’s just a citizen of the town and he quickly apologizes to Nico, but Nico just smiles politely and apologizes as well. Inside though, he notes at how Ingrid’s believers are always so polite and stiff. They don’t seem to have any sweet smiles and he hates people like that.

The civilian wishes a blessing on Nico from the god of Ingrid and Nico thanks him awkwardly and watches him leave. The moment he is out of sight, Nico’s smile disappears and his eyes narrow as he thinks about how these believers seem to bless people they don’t even know in their god’s name. He knew they were naive, but not this naive. He shrugs inwardly since it doesn’t matter to him anyway since he doesn’t believe in any of the gods.

Nico sighs again and mutters about how this place really is boring. He looks around as he walks through the streets and notes how quiet and stiff everyone seems to be. Even though there are shops open, no one is trying to attract customers by calling out to them. The atmosphere is completely different from the one in Dinus. He thinks about how they should love themselves more and think about themselves more so that they can move with purpose.

Just like himself. ARROGANT AREN’T WE? Anyway, he decides to go to the shrine in Ingrid as his first stop in investigating the calamity. The guards that are usually posted there are nowhere in sight and Nico smirks at his good timing. As he tries to walk in though he gets zapped by a barrier that is in place to prevent people from doing that. He thought there might be one, but he had been hoping that there wasn’t.

Oh well, he’s just going to use some magic to break it down. He prepares his spell and says 「レッツトライ」(Let’s try). HAHAHA PLEASE DON’T PRECEDE EVERY SPELL YOU CAST WITH ENGRISH. The barrier repels his spell forcefully though and flings his body a few meters away. Nico slowly climbs back to his feet and hisses in pain before grumbling at how this barrier is more stubborn than he thought it was. He sighs and says out loud that it seems like the god of Ingrid won’t welcome and accept him.

However, Nico just chuckles lowly at this and says 「ふふふ・・・わたしは絶対に諦めませんよ」(Hehehe.. I will definitely not give up). He won’t give up because it’s idiotic to come this far to investigate the shrine only to return home empty-handed. He even thinks that the god has balls to refuse him from entering. Nico reminds himself not to get too caught up in other thoughts and he starts to think about other ways to get in.

But he suddenly hears footsteps. It’s one of the guards of the shrine but he hasn’t noticed Nico’s presence yet. Nico smirks slowly as he realizes that he can steal the place of the guard and enter the shrine that way. He compliments himself on his brilliant idea. He walks confidently toward the guard, who finally notices him, and greets him in a cheery voice. The guard blinks in surprise and asks who Nico is.

Nico just tells him that he won’t be needing to know that and then casts a spell on the guard. The guard gasps but then collapses to the ground. Nico tells the unconscious guard that he’s going to borrow his body for a second and he uses his magic to send his soul into the guard. The guard regains his feet with Nico controlling him and he comments on how this body isn’t very easy to move but he won’t complain.

He hides his real body in a place where no one else will find or touch it and then heads into the shrine. The shrine is deathly silent and Nico doesn’t like the atmosphere since it’s too quiet. He doesn’t meet anyone along the way and so he starts investigating. He thought the calamity hadn’t entered the shrine yet but he feels that he’s a bit wrong. As he walks deeper into the shrine, the road splits into two paths and he takes the right one.

And so he walks down the path. And walks down it some more. And some more. He hums thoughtfully as he continues to walk, but then he finally narrows his eyes and considers what is going on. Even though he keeps on walking the road just seems to keep continuing and he hasn’t seen any doors or other corridors or anything. It feels painful to return back to the place he started from though and so he continues to walk. Finally, he snaps and angrily asks if the god of Ingrid is trying to pick a fight with him.

He talks out loud about how the god better not be making him walk needlessly for no reason on an endless road. Then he starts laughing evilly and says that he absolutely won’t forget this day. After promising this under his breath to the god, he returns back the way he came and chooses the other road and ends up in some sort of cavern. There are some voices coming from farther in and he decides to check it out.

Nico finds an altar at the very end. There is someone there praying for the god of Ingrid to respond. He realizes that it’s Ingrid’s high priestess, Remuna. He didn’t think that he’d be able to see her with his own eyes, but he doesn’t think that she’d speak to him openly if he appeared in front of her. It doesn’t bother Nico much and so he stays hidden and tries to figure out what she’s doing. It seems like she’s just trying to talk to her god.

Suddenly, Remuna makes contact with her god and Nico’s ears perk up in interest. He’s going to stay and eavesdrop since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see someone communing with their god. Remuna starts seeing visions and repeats fragmented words involving something that will be destroyed, a calamity, a witch, and Dodona. Nico stiffens at the word calamity because if it’s the same calamity that he’s been looking at then..

It seems this calamity has something to do with a witch. He feels like he misheard something though because there has been a calamity in other places already. Or is it that the witch in Dodona will bring calamity to Anelheid and destroy the world? Nico is feeling pained at being unable to hear the whole conversation clearly and debates on creeping closer, but he decides not to risk it.

After a while, he decides to retreat while he can before he gets caught with no way out. As he returns back to the endless corridors he chuckles lowly at all the information he managed to gather about the calamity. The next place to go is obviously Dodona to find the witch. He feels extremely pleased at all his data. It’s impossible for normal people to collect this much data and that’s why he’s a sage. Suddenly, another guard calls out to him and Nico yelps in surprise.

He quickly makes the guard talk though and asks about if the other guards have noticed anything going on with the high priestess. The other guard doesn’t know anything about what is going on. He only knows that whatever the high priestess orders, he will carry it out no matter what. The guard asks him if he isn’t the same and Nico has to reply that of course he feels the same. Then the other guard excuses himself to guard one of the gates and tells Nico to patrol around the treasury.

This delicious tidbit of information makes him smirk since he didn’t realize that there was a treasury here. After the guard leaves, he huffs softly since he thought he had been caught. It’s probably a good idea for him to return back to his body because the longer he’s away, the greater the chances are of someone discovering him. But the temptation of the treasury is too great and since he’s here anyway he might as well check it out.

It’s just filled with random piles of gold which he has no interest in, but then he sees a small black box and picks it up. When he opens it, he finds that it’s something he dreamed of. It’s the second of its kind and a powerful magical item. Just by touching it he knows that no one else knows that this is here, since the box was discreet enough to go overlooked. Nico whispers to himself with a smirk that it’d be a shame to let this magical item continue sleeping here.

In other words, he’s going to take it. I THINK IT’S SOME SORT OF MAGICAL.. GUN? When he returns to his body he goes to the library in Ingrid to do some research and then decides to head to a magical library, but the guard that he possessed comes running up to him and accuses him of suspicious activities and breaking and entering. Apparently, he realized that he was possessed and Nico calmly watches as the guard calls for reinforcements.

They’re going to drag him to the high priestess so that a sentence will be given to him. Nico realizes that he can’t use his magic in a crowded street like this and so he dashes off and the guards yell at him to stop running because he won’t be able to get away. Nico cheerfully tells them that he’s not running away and then he stops to wait for them in an alleyway. When they run up to him, one of the guards tells him smugly that he has nowhere to run. Nico tells them not to get so worked up and then decides to test out the magical item that he stole from their treasury.

When one of the guards tells him to prepare himself for his fate, Nico just chuckles darkly and asks them not to request such impossible things. He whips out the guns and one of the guards asks what it is. Nico lightly tells him that they’re magical guns and that he took it from their treasury. SMART ALECK プッ(※థэథ)∵.*. Needlessly to say, the guards are extremely pissed at what Nico has done.

But Nico just tells them that their god gifted it to him and they have such a generous god. One of the guards tells him not to screw around and so then Nico informs them that he’s going to start then. He takes out his guns and fires them and they instantly knock out the guards. Nico is impressed with the power of the guns and then tries to head off to the magical library that he was going to in the first place, but he sees a larger group of guards heading his way.

Apparently, his departure from The streets was noted. Nico sighs at this in mild irritation because he didn’t manage to investigate to his heart’s content in Ingrid. But since it can’t be helped he’ll head over to Dodona to find the witch. He’s looking foward to meeting her and seeing who her enemies and allies are.

Yep, that’s why I’m usually most interested in the “playboy-ish” character. I want to hear sexy flirting lines and pinning scenes 8D! I’m just glad that none of them have been cliche so far and are like “BABY?! WHAT IS LOVE~!?” or else I’d hate them forever >w<. Guys who are super devoted (Takato and Jin) fall under this category too ww.

I think I just basically like characters that skip the whole dancing around the bush "Do I like you? Do you like me?" thing and go straight to "I like you, so I'm going to woo you" make me happiest :3.

      >///< I'm a harlequin romance reader too (preferably historical as well), but only when I'm really bored. But that's just because otome games fulfill that role really neatly ww and it has the added bonus of sexy voices (*´∀`*)えへへ.

I don't remember the authors of harlequin/romance novels I read ww, but some novels that I do read and have romance in them are Jane Eyre, Silver Wolf series (Alice Borchardt), Hannibal series (Thomas Harris), Fountainhead + Atlas Shrugged (Ayn Rand), and Dune series (Frank Herbert). I-if you squint you can see romance in the last 3? (/ω\).

      I'll check that out ^^!

It’s not over yet! There’s still one more, haha, the pixie boy who sits on the heroine’s head or shoulders. I’m not sure if he’s actually a route, but he has a back story as well. I doubt I’ll be as interested in him as the other guys.. I bet he fulfills the token shouta route in this game.

You like arrogant men xD? I do too, to an extent. The way you listed them is basically my order of interest too (*´ω`*). My favourite is still Nate though~ I want more puppies!

o.O I thought it’s over ^^ I never thought that fairy boy is included in this demo. Yupz I like arrogant man ( as long as he is not too overbearing lol), a lot of novels influenced me to like that type of man lol

Me too, my top fav is Nate, followed by Nico and Natuya xD. The other guys are so-so.

May I ask what kind of novels? I love atypical characters for novels.. like Byronic ones >w<! Yeah, too overbearing makes you want to throw him into the nearest pond www but just a little bit and sexy flirting makes me blush. Nico's CGs makes him look like he's that kind of person. Serious people like Kirite will maybe make me bored since they aren't very aggressive.
