Kirite Asturias (キリテ アストリアス)
CV: Sakurai Takahiro (櫻井 孝宏)
What can I say? I definitely feel like Kirite is the canon route of the story. His character and past is immaculately intertwined with the main plot and his personality seems to mesh with Lilith’s personality perfectly. They bring out the best in each other and their affection for one another is very pure and earnest. Kirite is terrible at showing his emotions and talking but he manages to show his kindness through many small gestures that Lilith manages to pick up on. PLUS SAKURAI’S VOICE IS SEXY WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID?
(Since I basically wrote out the whole common route in Nate’s route, Kirite’s post will only have a rough outline of their adventure. This allows me to make the post shorter and focus more of my attention on the details in Kirite’s individual scenes. Therefore if readers want more details about the adventure and group interactions then they should read Nate’s route.)
The prologue of the game starts with Lilith thinking about how love was a gift granted to humans by gods. It allowed humans to sympathize and feel compassion for one another. It allowed them to be able to look at one another and share smiles. But then pain, sadness, and despair appeared and engulfed the world along with love. She wonders if love had been granted by the gods then who brought this pain and despair?
She doesn’t even remember who she is, but she hears a voice calling out to her. When she remembers that her name is Liltih she is immersed in a white light that brings her back to consciousness and her memories. The next scene shows Nayuta praying in Ingrid and then he is sent out by the high priestess to find the witch, living in Dodona, who will destroy the world. Nayuta also meets Kirite in Ingrid and finds out that Kirite has also been sent to bring the witch back, alive or dead.
*** EPISODE 「福音」(Good news) ***
Lilith wakes up late for her morning prayers and so she dashes towards the shrine with Camus on her head. Along the way she crashes into Kirite and apologizes for not looking at where she was going, but he tells her that it was just a bump and so it’s not a problem. She continues to stare at him though because she realizes that he’s a traveler. Kirite notices her staring at him and so he asks her if there’s a problem. She stutters a bit before she blurts out a question as to if he’s really alright.
She asks him if he was injured anywhere but Kirite tells her again that there’s no problem. Then he asks her if she’s alright but Camus answers by telling him that she’s fine. If she was any shorter though then she would have smashed her nose. IS THAT A REFERENCE TO THOSE GODLY PECS Σ(＾∀＾;)? Lilith blushes and tells Camus not to say embarrassing things. Anyway, Camus reminds her that they need to hurry before they’re even more late but before they leave Lilith introduces herself and welcomes Kirite to her town.
He’s also invited to come to the shrine at anytime if he needs help in the town. Camus introduces himself as Lilith’s protector and then just before they leave Kirite also introduces himself as courtesy. Anyway, they reach the shrine and listen to the beginning part of the morning prayers but it’s interrupted by a monster attack and the appearance of Rognar. He informs her that he’s going to kill her for being Yufisu’s chosen daughter but then Kirite shows up to fight against him.
Lilith picks up the staff after hearing a voice, who orders her to do it, and then she sees a vision of Yufisu. She also strengthens her determination to save Kirite and others with this power that she is granted. They almost lose the fight to Rognar but then Nayuta and Camus appear and so Rognar flees. Then Lilith tries to heal Kirite but he slaps her hand away, because of his pain at failing to defeat Rognar, and tells her that it’s not necessary.
She shouts back and asks him what he’s saying because those wounds are too serious, but Kirite raises his voice and tells her once again that it’s not necessary before he slaps her hand away again. She watches his face flash with anger, sadness, and then regret. Camus angrily asks Kirite what is with his attitude when Lilith is just trying to heal him, but she tells Camus to let it go. Meanwhile, Kirite only lowers his head in silence. To Lilith, it’s as if Kirite was crying with no sound or tears.
Lilith is certain that he’s angry at himself for not being able to defeat Rognar. She’s also certain that Kirite is sad and although she doesn’t know what Rognar did to him, she feels that Kirite was attacking him for that reason. She can also tell that he’s feeling regret and so she just reaches out to take his hand, for the third time, without saying anything. Then she tells him that everything will be alright. He looks up at her with a gasp.
Meanwhile, she doesn’t know if she is comforting him or herself. All she knows is that she wants to relieve Kirite of his pain. Then she realizes that his hand is cold and so she thoughtlessly casts a healing spell and it settles around Kirite but then a glowing light appears on his chest. She feels as if something is calling her while Kirite gasps out in a strained voice that his chest is hot. Then Nico’s teleportation spell starts to activate around them and so Nayuta and Camus jump in.
*** EPISODE 「聖女か魔女か」(A saint or a witch?) ***
Lilith wakes up on the road and finds out that Kirite is fine and uninjured. Then Nayuta and Kirite reveal that she is suspected of being a witch who will destroy the world by a high prietess and so they were to bring her back to Ingrid. Lilith agrees to go with them since she wants to clear herself of the accusation. The party decides to travel through Dinus to get to Ingrid.
Night falls while they’re on the road and so they decide to set up camp, but while they’re searching for a suitable place they want Lilith to be with someone since it could be dangerous. She chooses Kirite and then they end up setting camp in a cave. When she and Camus wonder out loud to each other why the two men chose a place like this Kirite teaches them that a cave will block the wind and prevent their fire from being seen.
Then he asks her to drop the honorifics with him because he isn’t a person who deserves it. Lilith has a hard time saying his name though and Camus makes fun of her for it. Nayuta returns back with food and then they prepare dinner and go to sleep. She wakes up in the middle of the night to see that Kirite is awake since he’s tending to the fire and keeping watch and then they have a conversation about how he thought she would become more familiar with him if she dropped the honorifics, but it’s not working.
Lilith apologizes for not doing anything useful but Kirite tells her not to concern herself since he and Nayuta are used to traveling while this is her first time outside of Dodona. She confesses that she’s having a bit of fun seeing the new scenery and then Kirite becomes pensive. He finally informs her that he hasn’t thanked her and apologized to her. When she looks at him in confusion he thanks her for saving him during the fight with Rognar and then apologizes for his attitude towards her when she was trying to heal him.
She informs him that he doesn’t need to thank her since she’s a priestess and that’s what they do. Kirite gives her a small smile and tells her that even so it’s thanks to her that he’s able to be here right now. He’s also able to continue chasing after Rognar. Lilith flinches at hearing his dark words and she wonders what happened to cause him to feel so much pain. Kirite shakes off his bad mood though and urges her to go to sleep since they a lot of walking to do tomorrow.
He explains to her that resting is also an important job to do since it’ll be a problem if she collapses. She nods and then wishes him good night, which he returns, before she goes to sleep wondering why Kirite is chasing after Rognar. She meets Nico in her dreams and he convinces her that she’s just dreaming before he informs her that he’s going to be watching over her and following her along her journey.
The party finally makes it to Dinus where they prepare to rest for the night before going to Ingrid, but a thief steals Lilith’s staff and the party splits off to chase him. Lilith goes with Kirite and they chase the thief into an alleyway where they both lose sight of him. Lilith is panicking because her i-scepter was in the bag and she doesn’t know what to do. When Kirite looks at her in confusion she explains to him that her staff was given to her by Yufisu and it’s called the i-scepter.
Anyway, Kirite informs her that there is still a way to find her i-scepter because thieves in towns use certain routes. All they have to do is find a person who knows those routes. Lilith is ashamed at her lack of knowledge about the underground activities in big towns like these, but Kirite reassures her that it’s natural since she was a priestess. Plus, he doesn’t think that she should need to know about these. Anyway, he suggests that they enter a bar to find their information.
Lilith confesses that the bar sounds scary, but Kirite reassures her with 「俺がついている。心配する必要はない」(I’m with you. There’s no need to worry). Lilith smiles in relief at that and then they both enter a bar. In the bar, Kirite asks the bartender calmly about any thieving activity. The bartender scoffs and asks Kirite why he thinks he would know. Kirite points out that he’s the owner of this bar and so he would overhear things. The bartender just shrugs and informs him that even if he did know he wouldn’t tell a tourist.
Kirite quietly says 「・・・なるほど。ではーー」(.. I see. Then-) with crossed arms but the bartender interrupts and tells them that he received some good from Midvan, but the drink is disgusting and extremely strong. He’s having trouble getting rid of it, but if Kirite engages him in a drinking contest and wins then he’ll tell them the information they want. Kirite agrees to it and when Lilith asks if he’ll be alright, he reassures her calmly that it’ll be fine and she should just watch.
Many drinks later and Kirite is completely intoxicated. When Lilith asks if he’s alright, he replies in a giddy voice 「うむ！ぜーんぜん問題ない！俺はまーだまだいけるぞ！！さあ、次だもってこーい！！」(Yep! Noo problems at aaall! I can definitely still go on!! Now, keep them coming!!). Lilith is alarmed and shouts in her head that there is definitely a big problem. At first, she was relieved to see that they might win but after a few drinks Kirite’s personality completely changed.
She wonders if she should stop him, but if they lose then they won’t get the situation. But if Kirite continues to get more drunk then the situation may become dangerous. The bartender’s face is turning red from all the alcohol and Kirite chuckles happily and asks him if he’s giving up already before asking for more alcohol. Lilith admits that it’s true the bartender’s face is completely red compared to Kirite’s normal face, but Kirite’s energetic state is strange enough.
Kirite grins happily and says in a baby voice 「どうした、手が止まっているぞ？いいのか？もうギブアップか？」(What’s wrong? Your hand stopped. Are you alright~? Have you given up~?). I’M LAUGHING SO HARD I HAVE TO STOP TO WIPE AWAY THE TEARS IN MY EYES ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵. The bartender refuses to lose though and continues to drink even though it sounds like he’s about to pass out or puke. Kirite notes out loud that he thought the drink would be more disgusting but it isn’t that bad. He asks Lilith excitedly if she wants to try drinking some.
She refuses with an alarmed face though because just the smell is enough to scare her away. Then she watches with wide eyes as he easily drains an entire cup. She asks him if he’s really alright, but he tells her loudly that he’s fine and he can finish all of the alcohol in front of him. Lilith reminds him about the thieving routes and remarkably he’s still lucid enough to ask the bartender about it. However, the bartender refuses to tell them yet.
Amazingly this actually pleases Kirite since that means they can continue drinking. After a while, Kirite asks again if the bartender will tell him the information and the bartender, who by now sounds extremely in pain and sick, confesses that he would tell them but his bar doesn’t serve those kinds of customers and so he wouldn’t know that information. Kirite and Lilith both pause in surprise, but then Kirite smirks slyly and asks if the bartender is trying to say that he wants to continue drinking.
Kirite pours more of the drink into their cups but the bartender tries to stop him frantically. Kirite just smiles and explains to him that he’s going to continue drinking until the bartender feels like talking or until they run out of the alcohol. The bartender’s face turns from red to pure white and Lilith tries to get Kirite to stop since the bartender seems like he really doesn’t know anything.
But he just shakes his head and informs her that it’s common knowledge that bartenders know about the underground world. The bartender finally passes out which makes Lilith and Kirite stare at him in silence before Kirite finally tells him in annoyance 「おい、主人。情報を喋って貰わないと困る」(Hey, bartender. It’ll be a problem if you don’t give us the information). Lilith hesitantly tells Kirite that she thinks it’s useless and he agrees calmly. Then she asks Kirite if he doesn’t feel any effects from the alcohol.
He looks at her in confusion though and points out that he didn’t feel anything from the beginning. Her eyes widen because she’s pretty sure that he was acting strange, but at some point he became sober without her noticing. Kirite notices her staring at him and he asks her 「・・・どうした？俺の顔に何かついてるか？」(.. What’s wrong? Do I have something on my face?). She hurriedly shakes her head and then tells him that it doesn’t seem like the bartender will wake up.
Kirite sighs in annoyance, since in the end they learned nothing, and then he apologizes for wasting their time. Lilith denies it though and points out that if she were by herself then she would be wasting even more time. She admits that she feels determination when she’s with Kirite. He thanks her with a small smile and suggests that they head to another bar to ask for information. She nods her head while giggling and when he asks her why she’s laughing, she can only say that he seems like he can do anything.
Even when he fails it seems like he’s able to do something. Kirite remains silent and she hurriedly apologizes for saying something rude, but he shakes his head and tells her that he’s not mad. It’s just that he thought of something. When she looks at him in confusion he tells her that it’s nothing and that they should move on. When the two of them leave the bar, Kirite curses because he forgot to pay for all the drinks. Their actions will count as drinking and running.
And so Kirite apologizes before telling her to wait here for him while he goes and pays for the drinks because he’ll be back soon. He runs off before she can anything and then she notices how scary the alleyway looks. It’ll be best if he can return soon. However, she spots the thief who took her staff and he gasps in surprise when he sees her before running off. Lilith is conflicted since she knows that she should wait for Kirite but she doesn’t want to lose the thief and so she runs off after the thief.
Kirite returns and apologizes because the shopkeeper woke up and so he was delayed, but then his eyes widen when he realizes that Lilith isn’t there. Lilith loses sight of the thief in the alleyways and then gets surrounded by a group of men who intend to sell her for money. She threatens to yell for people but they just laugh at her. In the end, she’s saved by Soo though and he comforts her when she admits that she was scared. Then the rest of her party finds her and names are exchanged but then Soo has to run away because more of his creditors are after him.
After Soo leaves, the party decides to have dinner before they resume their search for the thief. When they enter a restaurant to buy some dinner though Lilith recognizes their thief at a table. They quickly surround him and request a room from the shopkeeper so that they can conclude their business with the thief in peace. After a round of good cop/bad cop, they find out that the thief already sold the staff to a lady called Madam and so they also take the money that he received from the sale.
Kirite searches the thief to make sure that he isn’t hiding anything and he finds the thief’s wallet. Lilith tells him to return it to the thief though which makes Camus pout and point out that she’s too nice. Kirite doesn’t mind which action she chooses, while Nayuta understands her point about not wanting to be a thief herself. But while Kirite tells the thief to thank Lilith for the return of his wallet; Nayuta threatens the thief not to steal from her ever again. GOOD COP/BAD COP SCENE IS ALWAYS SO GOOD (〃ﾟ艸ﾟ):;*.
They decide to go find Madam to buy the staff back from her again with the money that they collected from the thief, but unfortunately Madam refuses to sell it to them at the same price. She wants triple the money which they don’t have and so she offers a job to Kirite and Nayuta. Lilith gets kicked out to the casino while they talk over the details and then she finds Soo gambling all his money away. Camus convinces her to gamble the money that they took from the thief when Lilith admits that she wants to help Soo.
Soo saved her in the alleyway and so now she wants to help him out somehow. Lilith ends up betting opposite of what Soo betted and she ends up winning 36 times their original amount. The amount that she won is huge and so the dealer has to inform Madam about this. When she comes, along with Kirite and Nayuta, they’re all shocked to find out that Lilith was betting. Anyway, this should allow them to buy back the staff but when Lilith tries to give the rest of her money to Soo, Madam changes her mind.
There’s going to be a battle tournament held in Dinus and she is going to make the staff the prize. Therefore, if they want the staff then they have to win the tournament. She suggests that the party hires Soo and Lilith agrees to use the money they won from the casino to hire Soo. Anyway, Soo takes them for a tour around Dinus and shows them where the battle tournament will be held. A group of men take offense to his boasting and threaten to beat him up.
Lilith tries to warn them that she’ll yell for people and she gets shoved by one of them in return. Kirite catches her though and then Nayuta, Camus, and Soo become angry at how the men treated Lilith. However, if they’re caught fighting by the battle tournament guards then they’ll be disqualified and so the men leave. When Soo escorts them back to their inn, the guys from before come back but Soo takes care of them. It also reassures Kirite and Nayuta because they can see that his form is good.
The next day, Soo resumes his job as a tour guide and Lilith chooses to stay close to Kirite in case anything happens. The party goes to look at the arena again but no one can enter while the arena is still being prepared. So then the party ends up at their inn to eat dinner but Lilith decides to get some fresh air and then Kirite joins her after a little while. She asks him if he came out here to get some air as well and he admits that he wanted to breathe in some of the fresh air.
Lilith giggles and points out that it’s very lively inside which Kirite also agrees to, but then he confesses that situations like these aren’t his speciality. Lilith looks a bit distressed at his words but then she smiles and tells him that she thought it was his speciality. He asks her why she would think so and she tells him that she heard from other people about how mercenaries have wild parties like this.
Kirite admits that mercenaries do tend to be rowdy, but he was never a part of it. He finds it easier to be alone. Lilith falls silent at this and wonders worriedly if he wants to be alone right now as well. She ends up asking him if she’s being a problem and if he wants to be alone then she can return back to the group first. Kirite responds by telling her that she isn’t, which makes her she smile with relief before admitting that she thought she might have been a bother.
He looks troubled at this and tells her that she isn’t before he apologizes for making her feel that way. Lilith shakes her head though and tells him that it’s her fault for not being able to skillfully understand people’s feelings. But Kirite refuses to let her blame herself and he tells her that it’s his fault. But Lilith tells him again that it’s her fault. He falls silent at her insistence and they both watch each other in silence before Kirite starts chuckling.
This makes Lilith giggle and she points out that it’s strange for the two of them to say that the fault lies on themselves. Kirite agrees with a nod and says 「・・・なんだろうな。君は不思議だ」(.. I wonder why. You’re a strange one). Lilith’s eyes widen in surprise and she asks him how she’s strange. Kirite explains that he didn’t mean it in a bad way, but it’s just that he didn’t think meals could be this lively and fun. When he’s eating with all of them he can laugh.
Lilith asks him hesitantly if he thinks that’s a good thing, but he averts his eyes and confesses that he doesn’t know the answer himself. Then he talks about how he thought that feelings like fun and comfort were useless, but on the other hand he also finds that they’re nice. He gives a small smile and confesses that it’s strange but he finds himself becoming talkative when he’s talking to her. As if she’s a good priestess. She smiles at that and admits that those words make her feel happy.
Then she tells him that when she does become a priestess then he can always feel free to talk to her. Kirite smiles and tells her that he’ll be waiting for that then. The wind picks up at this point and so she tells him that she’ll be heading back inside. When she asks him what he’ll do, he tells her to head in first since he wants to feel the wind for a while longer. She reminds him not to catch a cold and he quietly nods.
There’s still time until the arena starts and the party continues to explore Dinus. Lilith gets called up to talk to Madam one day though, but it’s dangerous for her to go alone and so Kirite comes with her. When they meet with Madam she informs Lilith that she has a job for her because they’ve been busy lately while Lilith has a lot of free time. The only thing Lilith can say to this is to answer that she does.
Anyway, Madam wants her to mediate between a fight and it should be easy since she’s a priestess. Lilith recalls that the head priest in Dodona used to do this and so she wants to do the job, but first she asks for permission from Kirite. He’s silently staring at Madam though who is looking straight back at him. Lilith blinks in confusion at the strange eye contact between the two, but then Kirite answers her by saying that if she wants to do it then he’ll accompany her since he doesn’t mind.
Lilith thanks him with a bright smile and Madam chuckles at it before admitting that Lilith’s energetic response makes her happy. Then she gives them the information that the fight is taking place at a street stand and they’ll understand the situation when they get there. Before they leave Madam addresses Kirite quietly and tells him that it would be best if they solved it quietly and peacefully. He acknowledges her words curtly.
When Lilith asks them what they’re talking about Madam plasters a smile on her face and tells her that it’s nothing. If they can mediate the fight without any injuries occurring then she’ll reward them. Lilith and Kirite head out into the streets but Lilith immediately notices that there are a lot of people and so it might be hard to find the people who are fighting. However, the sound of breaking glass if heard and so Kirite leads her to the people who are fighting.
It turns out to be two people who both want to set up their stand in the same area. They both declare that they received permission from Madam but they won’t show each other their licenses, since the other person might do something like tear it up or throw it away. They just stand there hurling insults at each other and accusing the other as a liar for holding a fake license. Whenever Lilith tries to interrupt to tell them that she was sent by Madam to talk to them they just ignore her and continue yelling.
Kirite, who was standing silently off to the side, scoffs as he observes the scene and then he takes a step forward. Lilith is amazed at how, by just doing that, the two men fall silent. But they suddenly glare at Kirite and ask him what he wants since this doesn’t involve them. Kirite just calmly informs them that Madam sent him and Lilith to deal with their fight and she told them to solve it peacefully and quietly. However, and here he smiles dangerously, she only told them to solve it quietly if they could.
He informs them that people like them should understand the other meaning of those words. Lilith realizes slowly that Madam is also telling them that if they can’t do it quietly then they can stop the fight with force. The two men grit their teeth angrily but they stop arguing with one another. And so Kirite informs them that Lilith and he will be asking them a few questions. He confirms with them that the problem is the area where they both want to set up shop.
Guy B nods and explains that he’s had his shop here for many years and so it’s his land. He won’t let another guy set up his stand here. However, Guy A argues that Madam gave him permission and so the other guy can’t complain. The two start glaring at each other and so Lilith hurriedly asks if they both have licenses from Madam. Guy B snorts and tells her that he’s had it for way longer than the other guy. Guy A tells her that he does. And so Lilith points out that Madam must want two shops in this area then.
But Guy B complains by saying that having just his shop here is more than enough and that his customers are satisfied. Guy A scoffs and tells the other guy not to make him laugh, because if Guy B’s shop was enough then Madam wouldn’t give a license for him to set up shop here. The two men growl at one another and start glaring again. Then Lilith asks them hesitantly if they won’t consider moving to another spot, but Guy B explains that this street has a lot of people and so he’s not moving.
Guy A snaps out that he’s not moving either. Lilith slowly agrees that they seem to have a problem, but Kirite interrupts and tells her that there’s no problem and they can solve it easily. He asks the two men which of them was the first to set up shop here and Guy B answers that it was him. Kirite confirms with him that his desire is to have monopolization of this place and he wants all the other shops to be removed. Guy B nods vigorously.
Then Kirite confirms with Guy A that his desire is to set up more shops here. Guy A nods vigorously. And so Kirite points out that the problem is with Guy B then, because he should just approve of the other shop. Guy B refuses and points out that this is his spot and he doesn’t want to share with a stranger. Plus, a stranger won’t be able to make any profits. Kirite tells him lowly that this is why he said the dispute could be solved easily.
Kirite explains that, out of the two shops’ profits, Guy B just has to earn more by choosing a better way of selling his wares. If he doesn’t earn more then his shop will die off because customers will be flocking to the other one. Guy B is speechless while Lilith is amazed at how skillful Kirite is in speaking. Guy B finally gives in and growls out that he’ll allow the other shop to set up here. Guy A starts smirking and rubbing it in Guy B’s face but Kirite tells him not to celebrate so fast.
He reminds Guy A to think about why Madam is allowing two shops to be set up here. If the profits earned from this area aren’t any different than how they were before then she’ll change her mind. Guy A asks Kirite with a stutter what he means but Lilith is the one who explains, since she just realized it, that if the profits aren’t any different from how they were before then there’s no point in having two shops here.
Kirite nods to confirm her words and then also explains that if these two shops can’t make a profit then both of the shops will have their licenses revoked. He also reminds them that, like they said, this is a popular place and so many others will want to set up shop here as well. And they’ll get their chance to do so if both of these shops fail and Madam revokes their license. The two men start to realize that they shouldn’t argue if they want to survive and so they actually form an alliance.
This makes Kirite smile and he informs them that he and Lilith will tell Madam that the dispute has been solved peacefully. The two men tell him to leave this place to them, since they’ll take care of it, while he tells Madam exactly that. And so Lilith and Kirite head back to inform Madam that the dispute has been solved, although Lilith realizes that Kirite did most of it. On their way, Lilith expresses her awe at how easily he solved their fight.
She asks him if he’s used to doing those things and he admits that during his time as a mercenary there were quite a few disputes. She laughingly points out that Kirite might be more like a priest than her and he actually splutters in surprise at that. Lilith asks him if her words were really that surprising before she explains that mediating disputes like that is one of the things priests do. Kirite tells her that he thinks a priest would have mediated that dispute differently than how he did it.
Lilith just hums thoughtfully and so Kirite tries to explain that if a blunt and unsocial person like him was a priest then all the believers would stay far away from the shrine. Lilith giggles at that but then confesses that she thinks a priest like Kirite would be good. Kirite asks her if she really thinks so, but he seems uncomfortable because he quickly changes the subject to how they should return to Madam quickly.
And now it’s the day of the arena. The party is worried by how carefree and relaxed Soo is when they see him in the morning. And when Soo whines and asks if they can’t eat breakfast before they leave Lilith hesitantly agrees. Soo cheers at how she understands him while Camus just grins and tells her that she’s too kind because Soo deserves to go hungry. Meanwhile, Nayuta growls out that her kindness is becoming a bad habit. He thinks she should be more strict with Soo.
Soo pouts and points out that if he doesn’t eat then he won’t have any power. Nate asks with irritation why Soo isn’t nervous at all, but Soo just frowns and asks why everyone is so serious. Anyway, the party heads out to the arena and Soo splits off with them to enter the contestant area. When Lilith tries to find a seat though she gets bumped by someone and has to be steadied by Kirite. He asks her if it’s alright before noting out loud that there’s a lot of people around and so it’s hard to move normally.
Nayuta advises Lilith not to leave their sides. Anyway, the tournament starts and Soo instantly knocks out his opponent. Lilith and Camus are surprised and amazed at how strong he is, while Kirite and Nayuta critically analyze his skills. After the tournament ends for the day, the party returns to their inn to have dinner where Kirite and Nayuta reluctantly admit that as long as Soo continues to fight like that then they have no complaints.
After dinner, Lilith ends up outside with Soo where he asks her why she hired him. She informs him that it was a spur-of-the-moment choice which makes his eyes widen in surprise. Then he tells her his past about how he was taught by an amazing teacher who died from drinking too much alcohol. Before his teacher died though, he was told that he wouldn’t be able to grasp something if his hands were always fists. He never understood what that meant, and Lilith doesn’t either, but he feels that he’ll understand one day when he’s by her side.
The final round of the tournament is the next day. Soo starts losing because he seems distracted, but after making eye contact with Lilith and realizing something he easily beats his opponent. When Soo asks Lilith what she would have done if he lost, she tells him that she would think about it at that time. Soo looks a little depressed at her answer but he hands her staff over. However, the moment Lilith touches it a bond forms between her and Soo and his shoulder starts to glow.
Then Soo tells Lilith that he wants to journey with her so that he can find out what his teacher was trying to tell him. Madam gives the party a car for transportation and they make their way to Ingrid. In Ingrid, Lilith finds out that the high priestess had sent Kirite to bring her back dead or alive, which means that the high priestess is taking her vision, of Lilith being a witch who will destroy the world, seriously.
Lilith believes that everything will be alright though since she’s a priestess and so a person like the high priestess should be able eto see that she’s innocent. And so she goes with Nayuta to meet Remuna to prove herself. Nayuta takes Lilith to a waiting room and notices that she’s frightened, but she reassures him by telling him that it’s nothing and she’s fine. When Lilith is taken to meet the high priestess, Nayuta is dismissed from their presence, and then Remuna accuses Lilith of being a witch.
Since, unfortunately, Remuna doesn’t believe in Lilith’s innocence Lilith is thrown in jail to wait for her execution tomorrow. Nayuta releases her though and takes his punishment by allowing himself to be locked up to wait for his own execution. Lilith can’t just abandon him though, but he orders her to leave him and points out that her staff and the tattoos on Soo and Kirite have a meaning. Lilith leaves him with tears in her eyes and then she meets back up with the party.
There she confesses that she can’t leave Nayuta behind, which makes the rest of the party smile since they were thinking the same thing. And so they stage a jailbreak by deciding to go through the underground tunnels that Kirite remembered seeing from his time in Ingrid. She doesn’t want to make a scene and Soo is fine with her decision. Camus asks Kirite if he can guide them and he tells them that he can if it hasn’t changed from the past.
Lilith confirms with him that they won’t be seen by anyone and Kirite tells her that the probability of them being seen is low, since the tunnel is old and forgotten. Soo points out that for a tunnel that is supposed to be forgotten Kirite knows a lot about it. Kirite smirks and explains that children like to explore. Camus apologizes but tells Kirite that he can’t imagine Kirite innocently exploring for the sake of exploring and Soo agrees after apologizing as well.
Kirite narrows his eyes on them and then lightly tells them that he’ll be leaving all the monsters in the tunnel to them then. Camus and Soo shudder at the thought of monsters and Lilith asks Kirite if there really will be some. He just reminds them about how the tunnel hasn’t been used for a very long time so who knows what’s living there. Soo stutters out that he’ll beat the crap out of anything that appears and that should be fine, right?! Kirite compliments his determination and then suggests that they move out.
The entrance to the tunnel is in a forest outside of Ingrid and so they enter from there. Just as Kirite said, they aren’t seen by anyone and they don’t see or feel anyone. When they enter into the underground tunnel Soo energetically comments on how excited he is about walking through this tunnel. Lilith hesitantly asks him why he’s so excited and he asks her if she doesn’t find the tunnel interesting. He informs her that exploring underground tunnels stirs up a man’s blood.
Camus just rolls his eyes and tells Soo that he has no sense of nervousness at all. Soo snaps back that he doesn’t want to hear Camus saying that to him. Lilith just sighs at how relaxed the two are and she looks at Kirite who has been silent this whole time. He suddenly looks back at her and warns her to watch her feet since there are traps around. Soo asks why there would be traps around since he thought the tunnel was forgotten and Kirite sighs heavily.
This makes Soo pout because he doesn’t like how Kirite is looking at him as if he were a pathetic idiot ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵. Kirite explains that if anyone can easily get in and out through this tunnel then it would be a problem for Ingrid’s knights. And so the traps are just a simple defense. The priests of the temple also know how to disable the traps and this passage can act as an evacuation one. Lilith worriedly asks him how she should avoid the traps and so Kirite tells her to step where he steps.
As they continue through the tunnel the click of a trap is heard and everyone freezes. Lilith points out slowly that she just heard a click and Kirite nods before he looks at her sternly and asks her what she touched or stepped on. Soo pipes in though looking sheepish and apologizes because he’s the one who stepped on the trap. Camus looks down at Soo’s feet and informs everyone that he can see some kind of mechanism. Kirite informs them that it’s a trap which will activate the moment Soo steps off.
Soo laughs nervously and asks Kirite what they should do. Kirite hums thoughtfully and then tells him bluntly that it was nice knowing him even if they only knew him for a short time. Soo splutters and begs Kirite to wait before pointing out that he gave up way too fast. Camus snickers off to the side and Soo snaps at him not laugh. Then he pleads for Lilith to say something because he doesn’t want to die in this place. She looks at Kirite and tells him not to tease Soo and release him.
Kirite huffs and tells her that he was being half-serious but since she’s asking him then it can’t be helped and so he’ll free Soo. He commands Soo to step off from the trap, but Soo protests that the trap will activate then. However, Kirite just sternly orders Soo to step off and so he does screaming that he doesn’t want to die. An arrow is shot out at them but Kirite instantly cleaves it in too which makes Camus and Lilith compliment him on how amazing he is. He tells them calmly that any mercenary could do this though.
Meanwhile, Soo is panting and mumbling about how he really thought he would die but he’s not hurt at all. Then Kirite informs them all that they were lucky it was just a simple foot mechanism but there are more dangerous ones ahead and so they should be careful. Soo complains that being that careful is strange to him though and the rest of the party sighs and even Kirite face palms in exasperation. Anyway, the party makes it through the tunnel and into Ingrid and they find Nayuta.
Their jailbreak would be successful except for the fact that Nayuta refuses to leave his cell because he doesn’t know what to believe in anymore. He talks about how he can’t refuse his god and yet he doesn’t believe that Lilith is bad and so he can’t kill her. He’s torn and then a voice compliments his devotion before telling him to kill Lilith. The rest of the party is tense as they watch Nayuta raise his sword to Lilith, but he ends up throwing it to the ground because he can’t obey the voice.
Lilith asks the voice to provide them with proof that she’s the witch and then she talks about how cruel he is to force Nayuta into choosing her or his god. Her staff flashes and a ball of darkness appears in the corner which Kirite immediately notices. He asks the ball if the god of Ingrid is there and the voice gasps in surprise before mockingly asking him if Kirite thinks he can destroy his barrier. Kirite responds with 「・・・さあな。だが、俺は・・・、貴様の言葉よりも、リリスの言葉を信じる」(.. Who knows. But I.. believe in Lilith’s words more than someone like you).
Then Kirite snaps out that if the voice wants them to believe him then he should should his appearance. Lilith calls Kirite’s name but he slices at the ball of darkness and breaks it. Sacred Nebulim appears and Kirite notes out loud that he definitely doesn’t look like the god of Ingrid. Then the party gets attacked by Sacred Nebulim and Nayuta defends Lilith. This awakens his Vakista powers and then Nayuta swears an oath to serve as Lilith’s sword and then they escape from Ingrid with the help of another voice.
*** EPISODE 「その愛をもっと世界を救う」(This love will save the world) ***
Outside of Ingrid they meet the three gods Luverchi, Clear, and Horo who bring the car the party received from Madam to them. The three gods also inform them about Lilith being a saint, chosen by the goddess Yufisu, who needs to save the world from Rognar and a disease called love lost. She also has 6 protectors called Vakistas and she should find them all. Lilith promises the gods that she will stop Rognar and save the world. The gods advise her to find her Vakistas first and then they leave with a promise to watch over her and support her in any way.
The party decides that they should head to Midvan since Amafi and Melrond can’t be entered into easily, but first they return to Dinus to gather supplies and information from Madam. Madam informs them about the bounty that Ingrid placed on them and asks for an explanation. Lilith doesn’t want her to get involved though, but Soo and Madam reassure her that if she didn’t then she wouldn’t have asked. And so Lilith explains everything to her and Madam decides to support them in her own way.
She informs them about a person who called himself a great sage and visited her to talk about the love lost situation that is seeping into Dinus. He also talked about how he wanted to save the world. The party realizes that they should meet with him and so they request Madam’s help in finding him, but it’ll take some time and so she advises them to stay in her casino since it’ll keep them safe from bounty hunters. Then Nayuta suggests that they split up around Dinus to see if they can see the effects of love lost.
Lilith chooses to go with Kirite for her safety since there’s a bounty out on her. One day she goes to see if Madam has learned anything about Nico’s whereabouts, but she hasn’t and instead she asks Lilith to do a job for her. It turns out to be handling a blackjack table and soon the rest of the party find her. They all play a game together and Camus wins while Soo proves how much of an idiot he is. On another day, she decides to walk through Dinus with Kirite to give Madam more time and to see if they can understand the love lost more.
She asks Kirite where they are going, but he just asks her if she has a place that she wants to go. Lilith shakes her head slowly and informs him that she thought it would be useful if they asked around about the love lost. Kirite agrees that it’s a nice idea but he doesn’t think it’s very efficient if they randomly investigate around. She reluctantly agrees and so Kirite offers that they should head only investigate if something strange occurs while they’re walking to wherever they want to go.
Lilith nods happily at that and then he asks her if she wants to head to the general store that she wanted to go to when Soo was giving them a tour the first time they were in Dinus. Lilith’s eyes widen in surprise when she realizes that he remembered that. Kirite blushes and confesses 「・・・君が、その・・・嬉しそうにしていたからな・・・記憶に残っていた・・・」(.. You, umm.. you looked happy.. and so it remained in my memory). Lilith blushes too in response to his words and thanks him quietly while using his name. THESE TWO ARE SO ADORABLE TOGETHER (〃ﾟ艸ﾟ):;*!!
So then she turns around to head towards the general store, but Kirite’s eyes widen and he tells her to watch out. Because she was talking to Kirite, she forgot to look at where she was going and so a person slams into her and makes her lose her balance. Just as she’s about to fall backwards she feels Kirite catch her and ask her if she’s alright worriedly. She can feel his breath brush the top of her head, the warmth from his body seeping into her back, and his arm around her waist.
She turns around with a blush to see him looking straight at her and he says to her in relief that he seemed to have made it in time. He ask if she’s uninjured and she stutters out that she’s perfectly fine thanks to him. In her mind, she’s panicking about whether or not she should consider this an embrace but then she firmly tells herself that he was just saving her. Kirite smiles and admits 「・・・大事なくて良かった。ん？・・・どうした？顔が赤い」(.. I’m glad it wasn’t serious. Hm?.. What’s wrong? Your face is red).
Lilith, who is still blushing, stutters out that it’s not but Kirite responds seriously 「いや、赤い」(No, it’s red). She blurts out in her head that his face is too close and he shouldn’t come any closer. Then he asks her if she has a fever and so Lilith quickly lies about how today is really hot. Kirite blinks in surprise and asks her if she really thinks so since he thought today was relatively cool. She stutters out that it’s hot to her and then thanks him for saving her before she hurriedly steps away.
Kirite warns her to be more careful next time and she nods before apologizing again. He just gives her a small smile before reminding her of how they should go to the store. In her head, she reminds herself that she really does have to be more careful or else her face will turn red again. Anyway, Lilith realizes out loud that while she thought they would be able to find something out by walking around it isn’t going to be that simple and Kirite agrees.
Then she asks him if he has a place that he wants to go to but Kirite shakes his head before asking her if she has a place that she wants to go to. She hums thoughtfully and admits that she’s been looking around for a place to go but this town is so big that it’s hard to find a place where one can leisurely pass the time. Kirite admits that he feels the same way even though he’s completed jobs that involve him guarding and escorting someone, but it feels different walking beside her like this.
Lilith giggles and points out that they’re comrades in being unable to become familiar with all the hustle and bustle of the city. Kirite gives a small smile and tells her that next time they should walk around randomly then to see if they can find something interesting. She agrees with his idea but then reminds herself out loud that she’ll have to walk carefully. Kirite asks her why and she reminds him that she had just crashed into someone and she was unharmed only because Kirite saved her. He makes a noise of acknowledgement when he remembers but he’s also blushing.
She doesn’t notice though and continues to talk about how she’s not used to walking around so many people. Dodona didn’t have this large of a population and so she was able to be more carefree. Kirite nods and tells her that even though he didn’t see very much of it he could tell that it was a calm and nice town. Lilith frowns and asks him if he doesn’t think of it as a boring and rural town since he travels around a lot and has seen many different things.
Kirite shakes his head though and informs her that his birthplace is very much like Dodona. It was an agriculture and quiet country. He confesses that he finds the countryside to be more calming and relaxing than the city. Lilith notices out loud that they’re very similar to one another and then she confesses that it makes her happy to see someone who is a bit similar to her. Kirite informs her that if she asked the rest of their party if they resembled each other everyone would deny it.
She laughs awkwardly and admits that she knows they aren’t similar if they’re comparing how he seems to be able to do anything and how mature he is. Kirite chuckles and says 「・・・はは、そうじゃない。リリスは、とても柔らかなイメージがある。だが、俺は頑なだ」(.. Haha, that’s not it. You have an image of being very gentle, but I’m headstrong). She frowns and looks at the ground before admitting quietly that she wishes she could be as strong as he is. He’s surprised by her words and asks her if she really thinks that.
Lilith confesses that she always thinks of him as being very determined and that’s better compared to her softness and light personality. She thinks that she would be crushed easily. Kirite becomes serious and informs her that he thinks that being gentle has its own power. When she looks at him in confusion he explains that stiff and unyielding things can break the other person, but soft and gentle things can stop the other person without harming them.
Winning isn’t everything. Instead of bouncing back to beat the other person, one stops them instead. To Kirite, he thinks that both of these things are strong in their own way. She thinks about it words and realizes that what he said has a point and so she thanks him gratefully. Kirite blushes quietly at that. Then Lilith confesses that she’s glad they’re able to have a conversation like this because Kirite doesn’t talk about himself very much.
He admits that it’s strange but he becomes very talkative when he’s with her. Lilith points out that since they’re going to be traveling together she wants to know more about him. Kirite informs her that he might not have anything interesting to tell her. She tells him that she doesn’t care about that because she’s not searching for interesting things, she just wants to know more about him. Kirite replies with a soft 「・・・そうか」(Is that so?) and she nods.
Madam finally has information for them. Nico isn’t in Dinus anymore and it looks like he was heading towards Midvan and so the party decide to travel there since they also have to find Midvan’s Vakista. They start to gather supplies in Dinus for their trip because they won’t be able to use the car as transport since they have to walk through a desert. Kirite organizes their supplies since he knows what they should get for a journey through the desert. Meanwhile, Camus and Soo are being idiots by drooling over fresh food which they won’t be able to take and so Nayuta cuffs them.
The party finally gets out on the road and they head towards Midvan, but Kirite and Nayuta notice someone who is following them and has been following them since they were in Dinus. They decide to try and lose their pursuer in the forest, but he catches up with them instantly and attacks them. Soo and Kirite try to find him and they leave Nayuta to protect Lilith from any attacks. Soo and Kirite come back empty-handed though and so the party decides to continue on warily.
When they reach the desert, Lilith nearly collapses from the heat and strain of walking through the sand. Just as Soo is teasing her and trying to get her to let him carry her, the ground starts shaking. Kirite instantly wraps an arm around Lilith and pulls her close to him while calling out a warning to everyone. An abnormally large sand worm breaks out of the ground to confront them and the men order Lilith to run away with Camus since they don’t want her to get caught in the fight.
She reluctantly obeys them and runs away but the sand worm chases her. As she desperately tries to run away she sees a wolf pup growling at the monster and so she turns around to protect it, but this causes the sand worm to catch up to her. The rest of the party is too far behind to save her but then the sand worm is barraged by arrows and it quickly retreats back under the sand. Lilith’s mysterious savior disappears and the party wonders why he saved her.
At any rate, they decide to set up camp for the night and Nayuta tells Lilith to stay close to someone just in case. She chooses to stay close to Kirite. Anyway, the party soon has dinner and everyone falls asleep but Lilith wakes up during the night to see that Kirite isn’t nearby. She goes looking for him and finds him on a rock away from the fire. When she asks him what he’s doing there though, he tells her that it’s nothing. He returns the question and chides her by telling her that it’s dangerous to stray from the fire.
Lilith looks down at the ground and apologizes but confesses that she was worried about him when she didn’t see him since a lot of things happened during the afternoon. Kirite is surprised to find out that she was worried about him and so he apologizes for worrying her but then tells her that he’s fine. She nods and then hesitantly asks if she can sit beside him. In response he shifts over to create room for her and then asks her 「・・・寒くはないのか？」(… You aren’t cold are you?).
When she looks at him in confusion he explains that they’re sitting far from the fire and the desert at night is freezing compared to the heat in the afternoon. She reassures him by telling him that Dodona was also a cold country and so the weather isn’t any different. He tells her quietly 「無理はしない方がいい」(It’s best if you don’t push yourself) and so she tries to tell him that she’s fine and she isn’t pushing herself but she sneezes at the end of her sentence.
Kirite stares at her intensely and she stutters out that she really is fine and that it was just by chance she sneezed. However, she sneezes again at the end of her sentence. Kirite asks her with amusement 「今のもたまたま・・・か？」(Was now also by chance?) and so she confesses that she might be a little cold. He sighs but then says 「はあ・・・なら、これでーー・・・」(Ha.. then, with this-) and he drapes his outer clothes over her, but it isn’t large enough to cover two people and so he wraps an arm around her shoulders and tugs her closer to him.
Once again he asks 「・・・寒くないか？」(.. Are you cold?). He explains that it’s a tight fit but it should be alright. In her mind she stutters out that it isn’t alright because he’s far too close. With a blush on her cheeks she blurts out that she’s really fine and if they sit like this then Kirite will be cold and he might catch a cold. He informs her that he’s used to traveling and so it isn’t a problem. She protests at this and continues to ask if it’s really alright.
Kirite averts his eyes, looking troubled, and tells her that she should be more worried about herself than him. Even in a place like this there are dangers. When she looks at him in confusion he explains that there are many scorpions in the desert and he points one out to her in their cave. They get their name from their sting which makes a person’s body feel as if it were on fire. Lilith is alarmed and promises him that she’ll be more careful.
He smiles at her and then tells her that he, Nayuta, Soo, and Camus will protect her with all their strength, but they can’t always be around her. It’s important for her not to approach dangerous situations and to be able to take care of herself. She nods and promises him again before noting out loud that he’s very knowledgeable about these things. Kirite admits awkwardly that he traveled around a lot when he was a mercenary. She asks him if he’s been to Midvan before and he nods.
It was only once for a job and so he didn’t stay for very long. She tells him that it sounds nice to travel around the world. He can’t help but smile at her enthusiasm and he asks her if she really thinks so. Lilith nods vigorously and confesses that she was scared while he talked about the scorpion but she was also excited. Kirite asks her in confusion if she wanted to poke it or if she was interested in its poison. Lilith tells him that’s not it and then points out that he makes her sound like a weird person.
Kirite teases her by pointing out that it’s already strange for someone to get excited at the talk of scorpions. Lilith has to concede that point with a grin but then she explains that she’s always been at the shrine and so she doesn’t know a lot about things. That’s why she gets excited when she learns about new things. Kirite averts his eyes and admits quietly that he’s never thought that way before. He’s only learned about things that were necessary for his survival.
She tries to lighten the mood by asking him if he also thought of poking the scorpion but he tells her seriously that he’s never thought about that. He wonders out loud if he could become excited at the thought of learning about new things if he thought like her. Lilith’s face falls as she confesses that she’s not sure if that’s true. The only reason she can be so carefree is because everyone else takes care of her. She’s sure that if she were journeying alone in the desert she wouldn’t feel any excitement.
Kirite disagrees though and tells her that if he was her then he would still probably be excited. He has a feeling that she would continue to push on. Lilith tells him that he’s complimenting her too much because even now she still feels like returning to Dodona. His face becomes somber as he admits that he understands her feeling of wanting to return to her birthplace. She murmurs his name quietly but he doesn’t respond and so then she asks him if she can ask him about it.
He looks at her in confusion and asks her what she wants to ask him, and so Lilith forges on and hesitantly asks about his birthplace. She tells him that whenever he speaks about it he has a gentle expression but then it becomes filled with pain. She confesses that she’s curious as to why he makes that kind of face. He averts his eyes from her again and remains silent which makes her tell him that if he doesn’t want to talk about it then she’s fine with that.
Kirite apologizes and tells her that he doesn’t want to talk about it. It’s not because he doesn’t want to talk to her about it though, but he’s hesitating because it’s her. Lilith blinks in surprise and repeats his words about it being because of her. Kirite nods and then asks her if she’ll give him some more time. One day, he’ll tell her everything. Lilith smiles brightly at him and tells him that she’ll wait until he wants to talk.
He smiles gratefully and thanks her. And then he informs her that she should sleep soon since they still have to walk through the desert tomorrow. She nods since she wants to reach Midvan quickly and he agrees before wishing her good night. She also wishes him good night and then they both go to sleep. The next day they reach Midvan and Nayuta finds them an inn to rest at. But then they get a knock on the door and Nate introduces himself and his job to the party.
However, he informs them that he won’t be hunting them any longer because Lilith saved his wolf pup. When he asks her why she saved his pup and if she only did it because she mistook it for a dog, Lilith confesses that she doesn’t know why herself. She just knew that she didn’t want to get the wolf pup caught up in the fight with the monster. Nate smirks and calls her weird before confessing that it might be a good thing that he didn’t kill her. Then he leaves but she notices how cold and beautiful his eyes are.
The party realizes that Nate walked out of there resigned to his death because he’s part of an assassin’s guild that doesn’t tolerate failures or people who quit. Lilith confesses that she wants to save him even though she doesn’t know why she wants to save him so badly herself. The rest of the party agree to help her and so they decide to split up to gather information about the sage in Midvan and the assassin’s guild in Zanas Valley. Lilith chooses to head out with Kirite.
They find out that the sage did come to Midvan and requested an audience with the king of Midvan, but he was kicked out after talking to the king for a short while. Then Lilith decides to ask him about Zanas Valley which makes the villager tell them that they don’t want to go there since anyone who does dies to the Fenrir of Death. However, Lilith persists and so he finally tells them the location of the valley. The party sets out for Zanas Valley to save Nate.
Lilith finds the journey hard but she doesn’t dare complain since she’s the one who wanted to save Nate. Suddenly, she hears Kirite ask her if she’s alright and she plasters on a smile before telling him that she’s fine. He doesn’t look convinced though and he stares at her silently for a second before he gives her a water bottle and tells her to drink it. She thanks him gratefully and he nods his head before informing her that it would be best if she kept on going without stopping.
He tells her that if she stops then she’ll feel more tired than she is right now. She nods in acknowledgement and then they continue to walk in silence although Kirite remains by her side. However, she soon realizes that walking seems easier all of a sudden. The water helped but it’s not just that. Lilith abruptly realizes out loud that Kirite is walking slower and Kirite inhales sharply in surprise. She thanks him while noting how subtle his acts of kindness are.
She’s sure that there have been times where he saved her but she didn’t notice. Kirite stares at her intensely but when she says his name questioningly he just shakes his head and averts his eyes. She wonders with worry if he didn’t want her to notice. Then Nayuta asks if the two of them are alright since he noticed them falling behind and so he came to check on them. Lilith apologizes and explains that she was a little tired and so Kirite slowed his pace down.
Nayuta nods and points out that it’s exactly like Kirite to do such a thing. Then he tells her that he’ll call for Soo and Camus to slow down as well. Lilith apologizes but Nayuta shakes his head and points out that this is her first time climbing a mountain and so they should have realized that they shouldn’t walk at their normal pace. Nayuta compliments Kirite on noticing this fact about Lilith and notes out loud that they should follow his example.
Kirite shakes his head and tells them that he only noticed it by chance when he was walking beside her. He didn’t do anything special. Lilith just smiles and points out that even if what he says is true, he still slowed down his pace without saying anything. She confesses that his subtle kindness makes her feel happy. Nayuta points out that this must be a samurai’s chivalry. When Lilith looks at him in confusion, he explains that it’s the chivalry of Kirite’s country.
Surprisingly, Kirite gives a small smile and tells them that he was taught the samurai code when he was small. Lilith grins as she points out that Nayuta is a knight, Kirite is a samurai, Soo is a martial artist, and Camus is a fairy. Nayuta frowns and mutters about how he thinks Camus is more like a glutton than a fairy. Camus flies to them and remarks on how fairy doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the party’s titles and so Lilith asks him what he is then.
Soo pipes in that Camus is a good-for-nothing deadbeat. Camus frowns angrily and asks him who he’s talking about and then he starts smacking Soo across his face while yelling at him to fall down the cliff. Nayuta sighs at how the two are so carefree and then he orders them to continue moving. Meanwhile, Lilith notices Kirite staring at her with a small smile on his face. When she calls his name he shakes his head and tells her that she called him a samurai, but it makes him wonder if he really is one.
When she looks at him in confusion he explains that Nayuta became a knight only by swearing an oath to the high priestess. Those who want to become a samurai must also be approved in a way like that. But he hasn’t done anything like that or received approval and so he wonders if he can be called a samurai. Lilith admits that she doesn’t understand difficult things well and so she might say something out of line, but then she asks him what he thinks about Nayuta.
Kirite looks at her in confusion and tells her that Nayuta is a knight. Lilith points out that Nayuta betrayed the high priestess, who he swore an oath to, so doesn’t that mean he’s not a knight anymore? Kirite disagrees and informs her that he doesn’t think that because Nayuta’s faith and way of life is that of a knight. Lilith giggles which makes Kirite ask her why she’s laughing. She points out that he’s exactly like Nayuta then and Kirite’s eyes widen in realization.
The party finally makes it to Zanas Valley and they find a building that they’re sure the assassin’s guild is housed in. Their surroundings are suspiciously quiet and they realize that Nate has already started to murder every assassin in his guild. They head in with Lilith staying close to Kirite for protection. A knife is thrown at them which makes Soo and Nayuta instantly form a protective circle around Lilith while Kirite deflects it with his blade. It drops to the ground harmlessly and Soo and Nayuta start wondering out loud where it came from.
Meanwhile, Lilith is exchanges a worried glance with Camus because Kirite is standing alone in the room but he quickly leaps into the shadows to cut down the assassin. He informs them that other than this assassin there is no one else which makes Soo realize that the rest of the assassins must be inside. Everyone takes a second to think about how strange this situation is, but when they head down deeper they find Nate fighting with the guild master. He ends up turning into a werewolf to finish off the guild master.
Then he glares fiercely at the party and asks them why they’re here. When Lilith tells him that they came to save him he snaps at her before trying to walk off. Kirite asks her if she can heal him and the rest of the party protests at leaving Lilith alone with Nate, but Kirite continues to stare at her silently and Lilith nods in determination and gratitude. She was the one who wanted to save Nate and so she needs to heal him. Of course, Nate snaps at her some more and tries to ward her off with his cruel words.
When Lilith hears about how he doesn’t want to be used anymore she embraces him tightly and cries out that she doesn’t want him to kill anyone. She doesn’t want to give him orders and she won’t use him. Nate wonders why he wants to remain in her arms and why he feels as if she’s made him lose his way. Somehow, these feelings connect the two of them and awaken his Vakista powers. Sacred Nebulim attacks but using Nate’s power they defeat his abnormal sand worm. Afterwards, Nate admits that he wants to join their group.
*** EPISODE 「祝福と呪いと」(A blessing or a curse?) ***
Anyway, the party decides to return to Midvan to talk to the king so that they can find out where the sage went. Kirite gives Nayuta permission to tell the king his heritage which shocks Nayuta and confuses the rest of the party. Nayuta asks if it’s really alright and Kirite nods grimly. Then Nate interrupts and informs them that he can help them meet the king too. After all, they can sneak in with his special skills. When Lilith asks him hesitantly what those are Kirite tells her flatly that it’s assassination.
She hurriedly shakes her head and tells Nate that they can’t do that or else the king will definitely not speak to them. Nate just shrugs though and points out that they don’t need to talk to the king, they can just ask him questions and force him to tell them. Lilith angrily tells him that if they did that then they’d get a bounty on them like what the high prietess of Ingrid is doing. Nate blinks thoughtfully and then informs her that he can take care of that for her.
Lilith stares at him suspiciously and asks him how, to which he responds by stating with a smirk that he’ll assassinate her. Nayuta forbids it. Then just as they’re about to return to Midvan to rest, Nate order Lilith to drop the honorifics with him. They get in a discussion of how old he is and Soo admits out loud that he thought Nate was like Camus. Camus tells everyone that he’s older than he looks because fairies live for a very long time and he’s even older than Soo. Soo snickers and tells him that he wouldn’t have thought that since Camus is so small.
Camus pouts and points out that size isn’t related to age. Anyway, Nate reveals that he’s 34 which makes everyone choke in surprise. Lilith refuses to drop the honorifics but Nate backs her into a corner and pressures her with his smile and aura until she gives in and promises him that she’ll say his name without honorifics. Anyway, they return to Midvan and go to meet with the king. This is where everyone finds out that Kirite is the prince of Savila and Soo is the prince of Dinus.
Their conversation with Kadash, the king of Midvan, ends up with the king not being able to believe in Lilith being a saint or a witch. However, he’ll let them travel through his country unhampered since they destroyed the assassin’s guild for him. He is also impressed with Lilith’s determination to want to be the saint that can save the world, because she doesn’t want the world to be destroyed. Anyway, he also informs them that the sage they are looking for has already left Midvan and is heading towards Savila.
The party thanks Kadash and then they return to the inn to decide what they should do. Since they already have Savila’s Vakista they won’t find one there. However, it isn’t easy to enter Amafi or Melrond and so they decide to return to Dinus first to see if Madam has any information for them. And then they can take a train and boat to Savila. On their journey back to Dinus, Lilith decides to stay close to Kirite for safety. They set up camp in the same cave that they used when they were heading to Midvan and they eat dinner before going to sleep.
Once again Lilith wakes up to see that Kirite isn’t around. She knows that it isn’t unusual to find him standing apart from their companions and it’s not because he hates them, but because he enjoys spending some time alone. But she’s curious about his expression when they found out that the sage was in Savila and so she goes to look for him. She finds him standing at the entrance of the cave and staring out over the desert and into the distance.
Lilith asks him what’s wrong and he startles for a second before telling her that it’s nothing. They stare at each other silently and she wonders how she should bring up the topic. She knows that she shouldn’t touch the topic and she was going to wait for him to talk to her, but since they’re heading towards Savila she realizes that she can’t leave the topic alone now. She asks him if Savila is his birthplace and he nods stiffly. Then she wonders if it’s alright for them to head to Savila.
Kirite looks at her in surprise and asks her what she means. She points out that when Kadash spoke of the great sage in Savila, Kirite’s became disturbed and agitated. Kirite tells her that she must think of him as strange for being so disturbed just by hearing the name Savila. She shakes her head and tells him that she doesn’t think that since she feels the same way when people talk about her being a saint. It makes her heart skip a beat when she hears people address her like that.
He continues to look away from her as he listens to her and then informs her that Savila is a country that doesn’t exist. The name remains but there is no country. She nods quietly and thinks in her head about how Savila is a country that disappeared. She wonders why Savila disappeared and realizes that it must be the reason why Kirite is chasing Rognar. He must have done something to Savila. Then Kirite confesses that he’s still afraid and she asks him if he’s afraid of Rognar.
His face twists with rage as he spits out that she’s wrong and he’s not afraid of Rognar. He detests Rognar for being the man who stole everything away from him and for being the man who destroyed his country. Lilith looks at the ground in distress as she realizes that he is really scared despite his quick and strong denial. But she thinks that it’s a given since Rognar destroyed Kirite’s family and country. He wields godly powers and is Kirite’s enemy.
Kirite confesses that what he’s afraid of is returning to Savila to see the destruction. He hasn’t returned to Savila once ever since it was destroyed 10 years ago. Even though he’s accepted that it hurts and that Savila is lost, some part of him still doesn’t want to face the reality of its destruction. Lilith says his name gently but he just repeats with a shaky voice that he’s really afraid of seeing how Savila has become nothing. He’s afraid of confirming how his country, people, and family are all gone.
That’s why he didn’t want to talk to her about Savila. Lilith looks at him in confusion and he points out that she didn’t know that Savila was destroyed. She apologizes with a wince, but Kirite shakes his head and tells her that it’s understandable that as a priestess she wouldn’t know much about the outside world. And it’s because she didn’t know that it was destroyed that allowed her to talk about it as if it still existed. She reaches over and grabs his hand.
She doesn’t know why she did that but her body just moved by itself. Kirite instantly looks at her in alarm and asks her what’s wrong. But all she does is ask him if he’s alright. It was the only thing she could say, but it manages to bring a small smile to his face. He says to her 「リリス・・・大丈夫だ。俺は、大丈夫だ」(Lilith.. it’s fine. I’m.. fine). And then he tells her that no matter what destruction and devastation his birthplace is in he’s decided to accept all of it.
To accept and advance forward. That is the duty of Savila’s royal family. Lilith thanks him for telling her about Savila and then she tells him strongly that she’ll be with him. She doesn’t know if she can aid him, but she’ll be by his side when they confront Savila. Kirite thanks her gratefully and then tells her that they should head back before the rest of the party start to worry. Anyway, the party finally returns to Dinus and Soo splits off from them to ask his father, the king, if they can use the train to get to Savila.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party returns to Madam’s place to inform her about everything that happened. She’s interested in how Soo is starting to change since he’s asking his father for something for the first time and she’s also interested in how the sage slipped by Dinus to head to Savila from Midvan. Then Soo comes back and informs everyone that his father, Banstine, wants to see them and so the next day the party heads to the palace.
There the rest of the party is treated to the spectacle of Soo and his father insulting one another. When Banstine asks Lilith how she feels about the bounty Remuna put on her, she tells him that she doesn’t resent the high priestess. He’s impressed by her and tells her immediately that he believes that she’s a saint who will save the world. Plus, his country doesn’t approve of Ingrid’s ideas about killing a young girl just because she might have the power to destroy the world.
During the train ride to Savila, Kirite tells the rest of his party the full story about the destruction of Savila. Rognar came and destroyed the country and murdered everyone there. Kirite is the only survivor and he escaped to Ingrid to seek refuge. There he met Nayuta and then he joined a mercenary group to improve his swordsmanship so that he could find Rognar one day and kill him to avenge his country. They soon get off the train and Lilith is amazed at the sight of the sea.
Then they board a boat but as they get closer to Savila, Kirite becomes more and more withdrawn. When they reach Savila, the whole party is horrified at the destruction and this is where they all become determined and vow to bring down Rognar. Anyway, the decide to head toward the royal palace because they don’t see the sage anywhere around them and they figure that the best place to find him is there. Along the way they meet a man of Savila heritage.
His family lived on the continent and so they managed to be spared from the destruction of the country. He decided to come back to rebuild the country because he can’t ignore his routes. He extends an invitation to Kirite which Kirite accepts, but he refuses to see the man’s village for now because they have a mission. As they continue on, Lilith has a conversation with Kirite about how he’s jealous of their strength. While they chose to rebuild, he chose revenge.
She tries to reassure him by saying that she thinks both choices are reveal the inner strength of the person, but while she won’t get in his way for revenge she does think that he should move forward and find another goal in life. The party manages to reach the palace without any more interruptions and they head in to find Nico who introduces himself with a flourish. He reveals that he was there in Dodona and was the one who teleported them away from Dodona.
The reason why he did that was because he didn’t want the newly awakened saint to die, which she would have if she was brought straight to Ingrid. Lilith asks him if he’ll tell them how to stop the love lost, but he can’t because he doesn’t know how. He plans on raising the king of Savila, Kaien, to discover why Savila was destroyed and if it was the origin of the love lost. Nayuta is strongly against this but Nico ignores him and asks Lilith if she’ll stop him. She wants to know why Savila was destroyed but it isn’t her decision to make.
Kirite allows it because he wants to know the reason why as well and if Savila is the origin of the love lost then his father wouldn’t be able to rest in peace. Nico summons his father but Sacred Nebulim interrupts and Kirite freaks out at the sight of his father disappearing for a second time. He attacks Sacred Nebulim in a blind rage and nearly dies but Lilith’s desperation for someone to help him summons his father back and his father cuts off Sacred Nebulim’s arm.
Kaien lectures his son before ordering him to fight with the skills that he’s honed. And so Kirite calms down and apologizes to everyone for worrying them before he slaughters Sacred Nebulim with his Vakista powers. The arm that was cut off though lunges at Lilith while everyone is unaware but Nico intervenes and shoots it down. She thanks him gratefully but he tells her that thanks aren’t needed since he got to see interesting things because of her.
Anyway, the party finds out that the reason Rognar destroyed Savila was because he was stealing the sacred sword that Savila was protecting. Kaien also bequeaths his sword to Kirite even though Kirite protests and then Kirite ends up vowing to take over his father’s duty. He’ll defeat Rognar and return the sacred sword to Savila’s protection. Fortunately, Savila isn’t the origin of the love lost and Nico can tell this just by looking at Kaien’s soul.
Then Kaien reveals how Kirite was as a child and the party teases him about it until he shouts at them to quit it out, but he’s blushing. His father is glad that he has such good friends and that he’s grown up so well. Kaien thanks Lilith gratefully and then he disappears. And then Nico informs everyone that he’ll join their group which surprises them but Lilith realizes how useful a sage will be in their party and so she accepts. He also forces her to drop the honorifics with him.
Nico suggests that the next place they should go to is Amafi since he has things he wants to ask Heathcliff, the king of Amafi, about. Luckily they have Camus who is a fairy and so he can guide them to Amafi since it’s a country of fairies and it’s sealed against outsiders.
*** EPISODE 「敵の姿」(The enemy’s appearance) ***
On the boat to Amafi, Soo asks why the three gods can’t stop Rognar and Luverchi appears to explain everything to them. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know how to stop the love lost or what its origin is but her brother Clear is investigating that. Horo has gone ahead to wake up Heathcliff for them. Anyway, the reason why they can’t stop Rognar is because gods are forbidden from harming other gods. That and Rognar is still fulfilling his duties of protecting humans by killing them to give them salvation from the love lost.
Lilith promises to stop Rognar and Luverchi thanks her and compliments her on her strong heart for opposing her mistaken brother. Anyway, the party finally reaches the Forested Marjune which is the forest that encircles Amafi and Camus borrows the powers of the spirits that reside around the forest to transform into a young man. Then he reveals that Lilith will be able to enter Amafi because she’s the saint, but everyone eles might have a hard time.
And so, in order for the party to get in, Lilith has to prove that her bonds with one of the party members is strong enough. She asks Camus for a hint and he tells her the location of several beautiful areas where the entrance is likely to be. Lilith decides to explore the lake with Kirite though the rest of the party come along too. Soo remarks on the beauty of the lake and Lilith agrees with him happily. Nate talks about how his heart feels at peace beside the lake.
Kirite notes that the lake reflects everything like a mirror and Camus informs them all that this lake is said to reflect the inside of people’s hearts. Lilith gasps in surprise and asks if that’s true, but Camus shrugs since he hasn’t experienced that whenever he comes to this lake. Nayuta interrupts and adds that whether or not one believes in that tale, the lake is still beautiful. Lilith asks everyone what they think they’ll see if they look into the lake.
Camus grins and tells everyone that he’s full of pure innocence and so that’s what he would see. Nayuta believes that he would see the god of Ingrid’s appearance. Soo snorts at how confident the two of them are and asks them to test it out. Kirite smirks and points out that Soo should try first before he tells others to do it. Soo looks nervous at this and stutters out that he’ll pass. Nate smirks and points out that Soo’s reflection would show all his impurities and dishonesty.
The party laughs at each other cheerfully and then Lilith decides to take a walk with Kirite. They end up sitting down by the lake where he sighs heavily. She comments on how beautiful the lake is and he agrees quietly before saying that it’s peaceful. Then she asks him hesitantly if she’s a bother and he quickly tells her that she’s not before asking her why she would think that. She explains that he looks deep in thought and so she wondered if it was bad of her to invite him for a walk.
Kirite just shakes his head again and confesses that he was entranced with the lake since he hasn’t seen many beautiful lakes such as this one. Lilith agrees and then admits that it wouldn’t be strange for such a beautiful lake to have the power to reflect the inside of people’s hearts. Kirite doesn’t believe that it’s possible, but Lilith points out that the lake is so beautiful it almost seems gifted with godly powers. He tells her that if the lake could truly reflect people’s hearts then he would like to see his reflection.
She falls silent in thought before informing him that she thinks his heart would be as peaceful as the waters of the lake. Kirite is surprised at her words and asks her if she really thinks that. She nods and points out that he’s always collected and calm. He gives off the image of being peaceful and untroubled. Kirite tells her that she’s praising him too much because he always feels troubled. Lilith looks at him skeptically and confesses that she feels that she can rely on him since he’s so level-headed.
Kirite’s response is to tease her with 「・・・まあ、君と比べたら落ち着いている自信はある」(.. Well, compared to you I do believe that I’m calmer). Lilith pouts and calls him mean before she tells him seriously that she really does think of him like that. And she thinks that having such a heart reflected by the lake would be a nice thing. He falls silent and she says his name questioningly before asking him what he’s thinking about since he’s doing it again. He admits that talking isn’t one of his specialities.
And so he was wondering if that made her feel unhappy. She blinks in surprise and tells him that she’s not unhappy, because she believes in him. It’s just that she becomes worried whenever she sees him troubled and thinking by himself. He frowns and confesses that he feels like it would be better if he had the ability to talk about anything. Lilith just smiles gently and points out that that’s what makes him Kirite. She thinks it’s good for him to be himself.
Then she admits that trying to imagine a Soo-like Kirite is frightening. ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ JUST ONE IS ENOUGH. I DON’T THINK I CAN IMAGINE WHAT THE PARTY WOULD BE LIKE WITH TWO. Kirite chuckles and says 「・・・くく。それは確かに怖い」(.. Heh. That really is scary). Then his face becomes troubled as he admits quietly that if this lake can really reflect the inside of his heart then it might also show something that he wants to tell her. Lilith becomes serious and tells him that it would be a bit unfair.
If he has something to tell her then she wants to hear it from his own mouth, rather than seeing it through a reflection. Kirite agrees quietly and says that if he could leave it up to the lake then he might run away. He stares at her intensely and tells her that he wants to be able to say these words even when he’s unhappy and troubled. He doesn’t want to convey his feelings to her by means of a lake. Abruptly, she tells him that she thinks he’s changed a little. He asks her if that’s true and she nods.
Lilith explains that before he always seem troubled and indecisive. He asks her how he is now and she tells him that he seems very relaxed and calm. He doesn’t look any different than how he was before, but it seems like he can cope with himself now. He asks her if she’s trying to say that he’s as clear and serene as water. When she looks at him in confusion he reveals that in Savila, when he was saved by his father, he was reminded of his father’s words.
Kaien told him that he wouldn’t be able to defeat his enemy if his eyes were clouded by hatred. One almost has to look at an enemy as if the enemy was one’s self. Lilith asks him what he means by that and he explains that his enemy isn’t just Rognar, but it’s also his heart. In order for him to cut down Rognar he has to be careful not to let himself become lost and clouded with hate. Then he confesses that the only reason he can think this way is thanks to her influence.
She blinks in surprise and says his name quietly, but he just nods and repeats 「・・・ああ。君のおかげだ」(.. Yes. It’s thanks to you). A light suddenly appears around them and Lilith jumps in fright. Kirite asks in alarm if it’s a monster, but Lilith quickly denies it and informs him that the light feels very kind and warm. They both reach the conclusion that it’s Amafi’s entrance at the same time. Lilith tells him excitedly that they have to let everyone else knows.
Kirite agrees but he raises the question of why it suddenly appeared. She points out that it must have approved of the bond between her and Kirite. He blushes at that and mutters 「それは・・・なんだか、照れくさいな」(That’s.. somehow, a little embarrassing). When she looks at him in confusion he shakes his head and tells her to hurry and call everyone over. Anyway, the party finally manages to enter Amafi and Camus explains how the village works to everyone. Then Horo comes to greet them and informs them that his voice managed to reach Heathcliff.
He also pleads for them to stop Rognar who turns out to be his twin brother. However, since it’ll take some time for Heathcliff to properly wake up and speak to them, the party decides to relax in Amafi. Camus guides them to an inn and Lilith collapses onto her bed. The trip from Dinus to Savila and Savila to Amafi completely wore her out and now she doesn’t feel like moving. Kirite knocks on her door though and asks to come in, which she allows him to.
It turns out that they’re going to meet with Heathcliff tomorrow morning and so he came to inform her about this so that she would be prepared. Lilith thanks him and comments on how fast it is, but Kirite points out that it’s probably because Heathcliff was woken up by one of the three gods. Anyone who is woken up by one of the gods wouldn’t be able to easily go back to sleep after that. She giggles at that and agrees and then they fall into a silence. It’s only broken when she says his name questioningly and asks him if there was anything else.
He ends up asking awkwardly 「・・・いや、その。どうして、俺とリリスがここに入ることを許されたのかと思ってな」(.. No, well.. um.. I was wondering why we were allowed to enter). She tells him that it’s probably because the god of Amafi approved of their bond. Kirite repeats her words 「・・・俺と、リリスの間にある絆」(.. The bond between me and you?). Lilith points out that they’ve been traveling together since the very beginning and so there surely has to be a bond between them. She tells him that’s what she thinks at any rate, and then she wonders uncertainly if he thinks differently.
Kirite murmurs to himself in a strained voice that he seems to have built up bonds with other people again. Lilith says his name quietly and he confesses to her that he lived only to think about killing Rognar. He thought that he shouldn’t think about anything else. She softly asks him why and he explains that somewhere inside of him knew that he wouldn’t be able to win against Rognar because Rognar is a god. A god who he’s seen with his own eyes wield a terrible power to destroy Savila. There’s no way a human like him can win against that.
Lilith points out that he never gave up though. Kirite nods forcefully and asks her who will avenge his mother and father and who will avenge the people of Savila if he gave up? He was aware that chasing down Rognar would mean his death. Lilith finishes his train of thought and asks him if that’s why he never wanted to get close to people. He averts his eyes and confesses 「その通りだ。人と関わり、そのぬくもりにほだされてしまったら・・・」(That’s right. If I get involved with people and become moved by their warmth..).
「死にたくないと思ってしまったら、そこで俺の復讐は終わってしまう。だから、人との関わりを避けた」(If I started to think that I didn’t want to die, then my desire for revenge would end. That’s why, I avoided getting close to people). As a mercenary he traveled from place to place to avoid making connections. Kirite tells her 「俺はもう、自分には感情などないのだと思っていたんだ」(I thought that I had already lost the ability to feel emotions). Lilith disagrees and tells him that she thinks he’s a strong person because he’s always suppressing his emotions.
Kirite confesses that he’s not strong. He’s a fake who wants to become strong. He tells her 「・・・それに、気づかせてくれたのは、リリス、君だったんだ」(.. And the only one to notice that was you, Lilith). She looks at him in shock and repeats his words. He just points out 「そう、君だ。君は、俺に対していつもまっすぐに接してくれていただろう？」(Yes, you. You’re always connecting with me honestly and frankly, right?). He reminds her with 「最初など、俺は君の手を払いのけたぐらいなのに」(Like the beginning, where I brushed away your hand).
Lilith is reminded of the time when they first met and she grabbed his hand, despite his protests, when he was wounded after the fight with Rognar. She smiles as she thinks about how nostalgic that makes her feel. She remembers that she felt really strongly that she needed to save him from the burdens that he was carrying alone at that time. Kirite shifts his weight and murmurs awkwardly 「・・・なんだか、言いたいことがまとまらないんだが・・・」(.. Somehow, I can’t decide on what I want to say but..).
A blush appears on his cheeks as he tells her 「その・・・。君に、感謝している」(Um.. I want to give you my gratitude). Then he continues on hurriedly to confess 「君との絆が、アマフィーに認められたということを、俺は誇らしく思う」(The fact that my bond with you was approved of by Amafi makes me feel proud). Lilith turns bright red in response to his words, because even though she knows he didn’t mean it in that way she can’t help but be aware of that. She looks up hesitantly only to realize that Kirite’s face is also bright red.
However, he still manages to say 「・・・それだけだ。君に、伝えておきたかった」(.. That’s all. I just wanted to tell you that) in a strangled voice. Lilith desperately smiles brightly at him and stutters out her thanks before telling him that she’s also happy that her bond with him was recognized. However, by this time her words were directed to his back because he had dashed out of her room as if he were running away. Lilith has the strange feeling of wanting to burst out laughing as if she were tickled. She knows that she’ll have good dreams tonight.
The next day the party meets with Heathcliff and finds out that the love lost is a curse on Yufisu. Rognar and the love lost are two separate things and so along with defeating Rognar, Lilith also has the task of saving Yufisu. Anyway, Heathcliff goes back to sleep after that without telling them how to stop the love lost because even he doesn’t know. The group loses a bit of their morale after learning that they also have to save a god, but Kirite reminds them that saving a world and saving Yufisu are the same thing.
Anyway, everyone returns to their rooms to sleep and think about things but Lilith is unable to fall asleep. She suddenly hears Luverchi’s voice and finds out from her that Clear is dead and she wasn’t able to contact Horo. Luverchi screams in pain and disappears but that’s after she tries to warn Lilith to run away. Lilith is crying at the events that are happening and so she’s helpless against the Sacred Nebulim who appears in her room and prepares to attack her.
The rest of the party bursts into her room though and they manage to defeat Sacred Nebulim through their combined powers. Afterwards, Lilith tells them what happened to Luverchi and Clear and then she decides to return to Dodona because it’s the place where everything began.
*** EPISODE 「聖女として」(As a saint) ***
And so the next day everyone gathers in her room to decide on their next course of action and Camus informs everyone about how they can teleport from Amafi to anywhere in the world. He reveals his past to them and how he met Lilith and then tearfully confesses that he wants to continue to be able to protect Lilith by remaining big. This activates his Vakista powers and he’s able to remain big with its powers. Anyway, Nico proposes that they head to Midvan first because there’s something that he wants from the king.
Lilith still wants to return to Dodona though and she doesn’t like the thought of heading to Midvan first, but Nico informs her that he can make it so that they don’t have to waste time traveling from Midvan to Dodona. And so the party heads to Midvan first only to find out that it has been infected by the love lost. They hurry to talk to Kadash and Nico tries to convince the king to give him something. He even whispers for Lilith to help him out and lie to the king, but she isn’t able to do that. She can only honestly tell him about how she’ll try to save the world.
Surprisingly, this manages to work and Kadash finally believes that Lilith is a saint who will save the world. He also gives Nico the airship which strikes amazement and awe into everyone in the party. Everyone gets on after being reassured that Nico can control the lost technology of Melrond, but it’s only when they’re on it that he reveals that this is his first time flying an airship. Everyone starts panicking but it’s too late and Nico forces the airship to take off.
While they’re in the air, Nico offers to fly them to other places first before they head to Dodona since the airship makes traveling very easy. Lilith picks Savila and Kirite is stunned at the view of Savila from above. Meawhile, Nate comments quietly on how the destruction still looks horrifying from above and Kirite agrees tensely. Soo asks, without cheer, if he wants to go down and take a look. Nayuta recalls that there was a group of people who wanted to revive Savila.
He asks Kirite if he isn’t curious about how those people are doing. Kirite agrees reluctantly and so Lilith tells Nico about their new destination. Kirite apologizes quietly to her, but she tells him that Savila is a part of the world and so it’s natural for them to be concerned about it. He doesn’t need to apologize for that. Kirite thanks her with a small smile when he hears her words. Nico lands the airship on the coast and the party start to walk to where the people are.
Along the way Lilith asks Kirite if he thinks the effects of love lost can be felt here as well. He asks her if she’s thinking about the people and she nods worriedly while wondering out loud if they’ll be alright. Kirite asks her if she’s uneasy and she nods before confessing that she’s scared that she’ll see hopeless people like what they saw in Midvan. The two of them fall silent and all they can hear is the sound of waves. But the wind suddenly carries another sound to them.
It’s the sound of laughing children and Soo points out how happy they look while Nayuta is surprised at the population. Lilith is relieved at how healthy everyone looks. They approach the small village and the man from before greets them excitedly before telling the others in the village that their friends have appeared. Lilith tells him that they were worried about everyone here and so they came to check up on them. He looks at them in confusion and Lilith asks if he knows about what’s happening in the other towns.
He’s heard about how the people in the other towns are becoming more listless and depressed, but everyone here is happy and healthy. However, there are some who seem to be easily tired and sad. Kirite and Lilith exchange painful looks and Lilith looks at the ground in despair at the thought of this place experiencing love lost. However, the man cheerfully reassures them that the revival of Savila will take a long time and so there’s no way they’ll stop because of this.
Lilith can see that he’s tired but he’s still smiling. The people in his small village are much different from Midvan’s people. Even though they look tired there’s still life in their faces. After spending some time with them and the villagers, the party decides to return back to the airship with their hearts and faces cheered up and brightened.
Soo comments with a smile on how even though they’ve seen depressed faces everywhere else, the people here are still happy and healthy. Nayuta agrees and points out how these people have thrown away their despair and chosen to continue advancing forward. Nate cheerfully tells them that the happy faces of the villagers are nice and it makes him want to increase their happiness. Camus remarks on how everyone is working with their utmost efforts and this makes it hard for the love lost to affect them.
Nico agrees with Camus’ words and thinks out loud that they have no room or time to be affected by the love lost. Their situation piques his interest. Meanwhile Kirite has been silent and so Lilith calls his name gently, which brings him out of his thoughts. He startles at her voice and asks her if something is the matter, but she just shakes her head and points out that he’s been silent all this time and so she was wondering if something happened.
Kirite averts his eyes and shakes his head before telling her that he was just thinking about things. All this time he had thought that Savila was destroyed, but there are people who are working to revive Savila and so it isn’t destroyed. He’s smiling as he says this and Lilith tells him that she believes that Savila can be revived. Kirite nods in agreement because they need to stop the love lost and Rognar. Lilith believes that with things like this riding on the line there’s no way they can lose.
Then Kirite informs her that he has a place he wants to go. He asks if she wants to come with him and so the two of them leave the rest of the party at the airship and return to the royal palace of Savila. When they reach the palace she wonders if he has a goal in mind, but they just walk quietly through the ruins. They return back to the room where they fought the Sacred Nebulim and Lilith notices that Kirite looks as if he’s searching for words to say.
And so she speaks first and comments on how Savila must have been beautiful before its destruction. She points out the remnants of the building and then confesses quietly that she would have like to see the Savila of the past. Kirite tells her with grief in his eyes 「・・・そうだな。俺も君に、かつての美しいサヴィラを見せたかった」(.. That’s right. I also want you to see the beauty of Savila before this). He sighs heavily and then they both become silent. Lilith breaks the silence by asking him if he’s thinking about his father.
He nods quietly and says 「・・・ああ。父はもうここにはいないと分かっているはずなんだが・・・」(.. Aa. I understand that my father is no longer here but..). Lilith tells him that it can’t be helped. No one can easily forget about a person who was precious to them. Kirite agrees painfully. Then she asks him if he wants to ask for Nico to call upon his father’s spirit one more time. He appears shocked by her suggestion before shaking his head and refusing it. His father has already found his peace and Kirite is the head of the family now.
If he called his father back right now and disturbed him from his peace then his father will surely be angry. Lilith giggles and tells him that he’s very kind. He blinks in surprise and repeats her word, which makes her explain to him that he’s kind for not wanting to disturb his father’s rest. He stutters out that he’s just trying to fulfill the duties of being the last remaining person of the royal bloodline. She just giggles again and tells him that he doesn’t have to be so embarrassed.
Kirite blushes at that and blurts out 「て、照れてなど！」(Embarrassed?!) but then he smiles shyly and confesses 「・・・だが、このように考えられるようになったのは、きっと君のおかげなんだろうな」(.. But, being able to think like this is all thanks to you). And so then they spent the rest of their time in that room. Sometimes he spoke to her about his past, but other times they just spent the silence in the comfort of each other’s presence. After a while, Kirite brings up the topic of how they should return to the airship now before everyone becomes worried.
Lilith nods quietly but before they leave the room Kirite turns to face an empty chair and calls out strongly that with the blade that his father bequeathed to him he will swear a vow to return the sacred sword, that Rognar stole, back to Savila and he will stop Rognar. Kirite draws his blade as he vows this and Lilith is struck by how beautiful it is and how it reflects the light. There’s no one there to listen to his vow, but she wants to believe that Kirite’s father could hear his son’s voice.
They return to the airship and Lilith decides to return to the Forested Marjune for a break and everyone agrees. While everyone splits off to go to the places that they like, she and Kirite head to the world tree. There she sighs loudly and Kirite comments on her explosive sigh. She looks at him with surprise and asks if he knows how she’s feeling. Kirite crosses his arms and informs her 「リリスは緊張しているときは、右の眉があがっている」(When you’re nervous, your right eyebrow goes up). JUST HOW INTENTLY DO YOU STARE AT HER?
Lilith’s eyes widen and she asks him if she really does that. However, he just smiles and says flatly 「冗談だ」(I was joking). HE CRACKED A JOKE?! IS THE SKY FALLING?! She frowns and points out that there’s no difference between his expression when he’s being serious and when he’s telling a joke and so it’s hard to tell. Kirite chuckles but says 「・・・はは。右の眉云々は嘘にしても、緊張しているのがわかるのは本当だぞ」(.. Haha. Although I was lying about your right eyebrow, I do know that you’re feeling nervous).
She asks him if that’s true and he nods before pointing out that she’s different from him in that her forehead isn’t permanently furrowed. She giggles and tells him that if he’s going to say that about himself then he should at least laugh as well. He just teases her by saying that his brows are already furrowed like that and so she should relax herself more so she doesn’t become like him. Even if they don’t know what will happen in the future.
Lilith nods and then thanks him for his worry, but then she confesses that she can’t help but think about what has happened and what will happen. She knows she won’t accomplish anything by thinking about it, but she still becomes unhappy. Kirite asks her hurtfully 「リリスは・・・俺達のことを信頼できないか？」(Do you.. lack confidence in us?). She hurriedly denies his words and tells him that she believes in them, but that’s why she’s insecure and anxious. What if everyone’s best, including her’s, isn’t enough? Kirite stares at her in silence.
But then he finally tells her seriously 「・・・・もっと、俺達を・・・、いや。俺を信用してくれ」(.. Have more faith in us.. no. Have more faith in me). He informs her 「頑張ってない、駄目な聖女についていくほど俺達の目は節穴じゃない」(We wouldn’t be following a worthless saint who doesn’t try their best). Then he tells her 「君が一生懸命頑張っているから、俺達ヴァキスタも君についていくんだ。だから、君は大丈夫だ」(It’s because you’re trying your best with all of your might, that we Vakistas are following you. That’s why, you’re fine). He adds with a smile 「・・・頑張っているよ」(.. Do your best). Lilith smiles at him gratefully and thanks him.
She confesses that it feels as if a burden has been lifted from her shoulders and he tells her that he’s glad for that. Then she tells him that it might be a little late, but she has something she wants to ask. From here on there will surely be more troubling situations filled with sad and painful things. Kirite agrees quietly and then she continues on to say that these things will most likely force her to the ground. When they do, she asks him if he’ll lend her his hand to pull her up.
Kirite’s eyes widen and then he asks her gravely 「・・・リリスは、そのまま座って休みたいとは思わないのか？」(.. Will you not want to just sit there and rest?). Lilith shakes her head and tells him that she wants to stand and walk. She wants to be able to walk directly forward, but she feels like she won’t be able to stand on her own. Lilith averts her eyes to the ground and confesses that she feels like she’ll be able to stand in times like that if Kirite is by her side. He releases his breath slowly and she apologizes for sounding like a child.
But he just informs her with a blush 「・・・立たせるよ。君がそう望むのなら、何度でも君の手を引いて、立ち上がらせる」(.. I’ll help you stand. If that is your wish, then I’ll lend you my hand any time to pull you up). She starts to smile and say his name, but he continues on 「だから、たまには安心して座るといい。万が一君が一人で立てなくても、俺がいる」(That’s why, it’s fine for you to occasionally sit down. If by any chance you can’t stand by yourself, I’ll be there). He confesses 「君は、道を誤りかけた俺を導いてくれた。その手を引いて立ち上がらせるぐらい、お安い御用だ」(You showed me the mistakes of my path, so it’s not a problem to lend a hand to pull you up).
Lilith thanks him with a bright smile and admits to him that she feels greatly relieved upon hearing his words. She breathes out loudly and then closes her eyes as she feels herself relax. Beside her, Kirite is silent and so she loses track of the time that passes by them. From far away she can hear their companions calling for them and so she opens her eyes only to see that Kirite has already stood up. He asks her 「・・・行こうか」(.. Shall we go?) and without saying anything more he extends his hand to her.
She places her hand in his and he pulls her up easily. She doesn’t say anything other than mentioning how they should get going. But she has a smile on her face and Kirite returns it with his own small smile. She can feel the warmth of his hand against hers and the two of them return to the airship with their hands clasped. Back in the airship, they finally make their way to Dodona only to find that everyone in the village has disappeared.
It seems like the high priestess of Ingrid has kidnapped them in an attempt to lure Lilith back to Ingrid. She starts to blame herself for everything, but Kirite tells her to calm down and that nothing has been decided yet about what happened here. She tries to protest but Kirite points out that there are no signs of struggling and so there’s a high possibility of everyone being safe. She tighten and press together as she gathers herself together and accepts Kirite’s words.
She leads the rest of the party to the shrine and there she promises to never forget what happened here when Rognar attacked and her powers were awakened. She also receives a vision from Yufisu at the shrine and this is when she really becomes serious about saving the world. Everyone gives her their support after teasing her gently about how late her words are. They return to the airship to head to Dinus because Lilith wants to know the state of the world and Madam has informants everywhere.
Lilith asks about Ingrid and finds out that people are starting to lose faith and their will to live. Midvan is in a terrible state since its desert is expanding. Savila is starting to rebuild and has been affected the least by the love lost. The other countries are giving it aid. Amafi’s condition is unknown but Nico thinks that it’ll be fine so long as Heathcliff’s barrier continues to hold. And then Nico suggests that everyone goes out to conclude their individual business.
After learning about the state of the other countries, he knows that everyone here will be curious about their birthplace. Therefore it’s better to get everything out of the way before they head after Rognar. Nico presents everyone with a magical orb that will teleport them to the Forested Marjune when they’re done. But first he’ll drop them off with his airship. Soo is going to visit his father and ask about Dinus. Camus wants to talk to Heathcliff again. Nayuta is going to attempt to meet with the high priestess of Ingrid.
Nate will head to Midvan and then he tells everyone to leave the place to him. But then he asks what Lilith will do and so Nico offers for her to watch over the airship with him. As she thinks about it, Kirite asks her quietly 「俺と一緒にサヴィラに来ないか？」(Will you come with me to Savila?). When she looks at him in surprise he hesitantly repeats 「俺はサヴィラの様子を見に行くが・・・。その、リリスも一緒に来ないか、と思って」(I want to check up on Savira.. umm, so I thought you would like to come with me).
Lilith is still a bit surprised as she stutters out her agreement. But then she nods her head firmly and informs everyone that she will go with Kirite to examine Savila’s situation because she’s curious about how everyone is doing there. Camus sighs heavily but Soo tells him not to make that face because he should be glad that it’s Kirite. Camus pouts and agrees reluctantly but he’s interrupted by Nate telling everyone that they should move out then since their plans have been made.
Nayuta agrees and so Nico drops everyone off with Lilith and Kirite being the last at Savila. There they walk along the beach until they see that the village is expanding. Everyone there still seems to be cheerful and so the two of them are relieved to see that the love lost still hasn’t affected them. Kirite confesses in an emotional voice that he thought Savila was destroyed, but here is evidence of it thriving and being revived. They meet with the man who is leading the revival and he greets them cheerfully.
He basically confirms what they see in that everyone is still healthy and working hard. He promises that Savila will one day return to the country that it was in the past. Kirite closes his eyes and promises him in a rough voice that he’ll definitely see that it does. The man chuckles and points out that when Kirite says it like that he feels stronger. Then he offers for Kirite to join them and Lilith realizes that everyone around them is looking at Kirite with kind eyes.
However, Kirite shakes his head and tells them that while he’s happy to be invited he wants to take a look at the mountains. The man blinks in surprise but then tells him to be careful with a warm smile. Kirite thanks him quietly and then calls for Lilith to come with him. She asks him why they’re going there and he tells her that the mountain they’re heading to is one of Savila’s symbols. It’s the tallest mountain in Savila and the world.
She asks him worriedly if they can climb it and he tells her that it’s fine and not to worry. They won’t climb to the peak. Instead, they’re going to a place where they can overlook all of Savila and there’s also a stone monument there. It’s a monument where all of Savila’s dead dwell and they watch over Savila. Lilith nods firmly and tells him that she’ll work hard to climb up there then. And so they start heading up the mountain, but after a while Lilith starts panting.
Kirite asks her if she’s alright to which she gasps out that she’s fine. However, the rocks are unstable and the road just continues to go up and up. Kirite finally tells her 「・・・リリス、手を」(.. Lilith, your hand). When she looks at him in confusion, he explains with a small smile 「・・・俺が手を引けば、少しは楽になるだろう」(.. If I hold your hand, it’ll be a little easier right?). She returns his smile with her own before she thanks him and gives him her hand. She can feel the strength in his arm and hand as he helps her climb over the rocks.
It’s much easier now than when she was trying to do it alone. He’s not just strong either because without saying anything he slowed his pace down for her. Soon the path they’re on opens up to a cliff overlooking all of Savira and Kirite points out the stone monument to her. He informs her that, up to now, all of Savila’s dead are resting here. Lilith adds that they’re protecting everyone from here. The two of them look down at Savila’s blackened landscape, but then Lilith points out a small bright area near the sea.
She asks him if he can see it and he nods before commenting on how the people who are reviving Savila are there. Lilith thinks about how they haven’t been ordered to do it and that they’re doing it out of their own desires to see Savila return to the way it once was. All of the people down there are Savila’s people. Then Kirite asks her 「・・・リリス、一緒に祈ってはくれないか？」(.. Lilith, will you pray with me?). He adds 「俺の旅が、よいものになるように。いつの日が、再びサヴィラが栄えるように」(For my journey to be well. For a day when Savila can shine once more).
Lilith nods and their hands separate temporarily as they pray with bowed heads to the stone monument. Afterwards, Kirite wonders quietly if his prayer and vow reached Savila’s people. Lilith tells him with a smile that she believes it did. At that very moment Kirite’s blade lightly trembles and a bell-like sound rings out of it. They both stare at it in shock because it was as if the blade was answering him. And so she smiles and points out that it seems like Savila’s people heard his prayers.
Kirite smiles back but then he tells her solemnly 「もう一つ、誓おう。俺はかならず、君を守る」(There’s still one more vow.. I will definitely protect you). Lilith starts blushing because his direct words went straight to her heart and made it skip a beat. Kirite seems unaffected by what he just said though because he soon tells her 「行こうか。もうすぐ、暗くなる」(Shall we leave? It’ll be dark soon). She stutters out her agreement and then thinks about how glad she is that it’s almost dark. That way her red face won’t be able to be seen.
They walk back using the same path and Kirite once again holds her hand to help her down the mountain. Once they reach the bottom they use Nico’s magical item to teleport them to Marjune and then they head to the meeting place where everyone is. However, it seems like they’re the first to get there because they don’t see Nico’s airship or any of the members. And so Kirite and Lilith decide to walk through the forest, but somehow she gets split from him.
Lilith sighs heavily and then footsteps are heard before Kirite appears. He looks surprised to see her and asks 「こんなところで何をしていたんだ。探したぞ」(What are you doing in a place like this? I was looking for you). He informs her that even if this place is part of Amafi’s territory it’s still dangerous to be alone. She apologizes but explains that she was just thinking. He asks for her to elaborate and so she explains that she was thinking about the state of the world and what the destruction is.
Thinking about these things made her become uneasy and insecure. Kirite points out that it seems natural she would become unhappy when she thinks about those kinds of things. If she didn’t then it would be strange. Lilith continues to explain that she’s a saint. It wasn’t something she chose to be because she wanted to, but because fate chose her and so she has no choice but to stand and face it. Kirite murmurs about how her fate seems heavy.
She admits out loud that she has no special powers. All she can do is listen to the voice of gods in their shrines. But even so there are things that she would like to do. And so, above all, she doesn’t want to have any regrets. That’s a resolution that she decided upon. Kirite compliments her on her strength and then confesses that if he was in her place then.. but Lilith interrupts him and points out that he’s also strong. After all, he still has the resolution to fight Rognar.
Kirite confesses that he’s still unsure of what that truly is. Is it really to avenge everyone by defeating his foe? Or is it because he doesn’t want to face the fact that his country is destroyed. That’s why he thinks she’s strong for being able to decide on a resolution. Lilith disagrees though because she thinks she’s still full of doubts. Even if she’s decided on a resolution, she might soon hesitate in indecision. Kirite comments on how they’re the same then and she nods because she thinks everyone is lost.
However, just because everyone is full of doubts doesn’t mean they can’t continue to advance forward. Kirite crosses his arms and confesses 「俺はあの日、リリスと出会えてよかったと今も思っている」(On that day, I was glad when I met you, and I still think that even now). Lilith blinks in surprise and asks him why he’s saying this all of a sudden, but he just continues on to say 「あの日、出会い、そして今もリリスの隣にいる。それには意味はあったんだろう」(That day, when we met, and now being by your side. I’m sure there’s meaning in it).
He points out that it might have been fate for her to meet him in that place. Lilith repeats his words about fate and then agrees softly about how there seems to be a reason they met. He adds 「それは聖女とヴァキスタというだけでなくーー」(And it’s not just because you’re a saint and I’m a Vakista–). He confesses 「世界を救うその手助けをする。リリスが俺に与えてくれたものを、今度はリリスに返せるように・・・」(But to help you save the world. You gave me something, and so this time I want to give you..). Lilith interrupts him and asks him what she gave him.
Kirite tells her solemnly 「俺が進むべき道ーー迷っていたところに明かりを灯してくれた」(A path to walk on — you lit a light in a place that I was lost). He blushes as he finishes with 「だから、今度はリリスの進む道を俺が・・・俺達が切り開く手助けをする番だと思っている」(That’s why, this time for your path to walk on I-.. it’s our turn to help open up a path for you). I SAW YOUR SLIP THERE KIRITE. Lilith blushes at his words and says his name quietly, but he quickly changes the topic to how they should return to the world tree. It’s about time for everyone to be back.
She nods and so they head back to find everyone at the tree. Soo received a new set of clothes from his father while Nate received a legendary bow from the god of Midvan in his forest. Unfortunately, none of them have a lead on where Rognar is but then they suddenly hear Rognar’s voice addressing everyone in the world. Lilith starts trembling at his words and Camus asks her if she’s alright, but then she starts angrily talking about how they’ll stop Rognar because he’s wrong and he’s hurting people.
Kirite points out 「・・・そう熱くなるな」(.. You’re that angry, huh?). Lilith tells him that Rognar is going too far with his words. He just smiles and says 「・・・ありがとう。君に、そう言って貰えて・・・。一人のサヴィラの民として嬉しく思う」(.. Thank you. Hearing you say that.. makes me, a person of Savira, happy). Nico suggests that they return to Madam for information and so they do. She informs them that everyone heard Rognar’s voice and some people are freaking out and just locking themselves in their houses to await death. Lilith decides that there’s nothing they can do but fight Rognar.
Then they receive a message to see Banstine, the king of Dinus, and so they go to meet him. There Nico reveals that Rognar is in Melrond, because that’s the only place with the technology to project his voice. If they want to enter Melrond though they’ll need to remodel the ship. Banstine informs them that he’ll help them gather the parts and so Nico takes them to Midvan because there’s one last part there. Kadash asks to hear Lilith’s opinion and what she will do and so she tells him that if they throw away hope and give into despair then they will have no chance of winning.
He’s impressed by her words and so they collect the parts that they need and return to Dinus. Nico kicks them all out because he needs time and silence to remodel the airship. And so the party leaves to spread out over Dinus and Lilith finds Kirite in the basement of a bar. She asks him if he has a moment and he tells her that he doesn’t mind, before asking her if she has business with him. Lilith shakes her head though and tells him that she was just wondering what he was doing here alone.
Kirite informs her that he’s tending to his sword and cleaning it. It would dirty his room if he did it there. She hums thoughtfully and comments on how she didn’t know that one had to maintain their sword. Kirite is silent and so she asks him hesitantly if she’s in the way. He tells her curtly that she’s not but she slowly points out that he has a frighteningly serious expression. He explains that it’s necessary for him to be in deep concentration when he’s maintaining his sword.
Lilith eyes him skeptically because she’s seen him clean his sword before and he’s never done it with such a scary face. She hesitantly asks him if he’s thinking about his revenge. Kirite’s serious mask crumbles and he averts his eyes 「・・・・・隠し事はできないか」(.. I can’t hide it, huh). She looks down at the ground in distress and then Kirite tells her that he was trying to concentrate to tend to his sword but he couldn’t. After hearing Rognar’s voice he can’t seem to calm down.
She asks him if he wants to try talking about things then. However, he tells her 「話してどうなるものでも・・・いや、べつにリリスがどうとかではないんだ」(No matter what we talk about.. No, sorry, you haven’t done anything) and then he adds hurriedly 「だから、そんな哀しそうな顔をするな」(That’s why you shouldn’t make such a sad face). She informs him that she’s not sure what heavy burdens he’s carrying but she can be someone who he can talk to. Kirite tells her that she’s bearing a heavier burden than he, since she has to save the world. Although he shares that responsibility too.
Lilith blinks in surprise and asks him if his burden isn’t his revenge anymore. Kirite shakes his head and explains 「もちろん復讐を忘れたことはない。だが、世界を救う。それが今の俺にとっては同じくらい大切な意味を持っている」(Of course I can’t forget about my revenge. However, saving the world is something that has become just as important to me). Saving the world will result in him being able to get his revenge. He releases his breath and she asks him if he feels lighter. Kirite nods slowly before commenting on how it might have been his own fault that he became so worked up.
She just smiles and points out that if he didn’t feel lighter then when the time comes he might not be able to fight Rognar. Kirite’s eyes become serious as he agrees and then tells her that the next time he meets Rognar, this blade that he holds in his hand will decide everything. Anyway, the two of them return to the airship to find the rest of the party there and Nico informs them that he’s finished remodeling. Everyone finishes their preparations and they head towards Melrond.
However, to get to Melrond they have to enter through thick storm clouds and a lightning storm. Everyone panics when they realize they have to go through that and Lilith desperately suggests that they pray to a god. The roar of thunder makes Lilith scream in fright and so Kirite quickly asks her if she’s alright. She trembingly nods and tells him that she’s fine and she was just surprised. Kirite tells her not to worry because he’ll be beside her. She nods again and thanks him quietly.
They continue to fly to Melrond and Nico reassures everyone that the ship will hold through the lightning. However, Nate points out that something is coming and it turns out to be a Bahamut. They try to lose it but it continues to chase after them as if they were prey. The party wonders what they should do and Lilith screams again when the ship is rocked by Bahamut’s claws. Kirite grabs her and asks her if she’s alright in worry, to which she nods shakily. His eyes narrow in thought though which makes her call his name out questioningly.
Kirite ignores her though and asks Nico if he can turn the ship around and ram it into the Bahamut. Nico tells him slowly that he can do that, but what exactly is Kirite planning to do. Kirite tells him that he’s going to do the only thing he knows how to do. If they can’t shake the Bahamut off then he’s going to launch himself at it. Lilith frowns and points out that they’re in the sky. Kirite just tells her that Bahamut is getting closer and so he’ll cut the dragon down before it can attack them again.
Lilith asks him if he’s serious in an angry voice, but he replies calmly that he’s deathly serious. Lilith reluctantly nods and tells him that she’ll leave everything to him. Kirite averts his eyes and apologizes quietly, but she tells him not to. She’ll believe in him returning to her after defeating Bahamut. Kirite smirks and informs her that he has no intentions of losing to a dragon in this place. Then he orders Nico to pull up to the dragon which makes Nico sigh.
Nico wants to tell them that this isn’t a good idea, but he realizes that he can’t win against Kirite right now. Nayuta apologizes to Kirite for leaving everything to him. Kirite just informs him that if anything were to happen to him then he leaves the rest to Nayuta. And so he climbs out to the top of the airship and draws his blade before lowering himself in position. Even though the footing is unstable, Kirite doesn’t move at all and closes his eyes to center himself. Nayuta notes Kirite’s posture and comments on how Kirite is seeking to end this with one blow.
Meanwhile, Nico is turning the airship around and the airship is shuddering as if it were tired. The Bahamut immediately notices Kirite and attacks him with its claws. They manage to slip by Kirite’s guard and injure him. It’s not life-threatening but he’s bleeding and so Lilith screams his name, but the wind carries her words away before they can reach him. Even though she’s sure her words don’t reach him she can see him smile and move his mouth. His lips spell out 「俺は大丈夫だ。心配するな」(I’m fine. Don’t worry). The Bahamut rears back for another strike.
Lilith closes her eyes and clutches her i-scepter to her chest as she calls Kirite’s name out in her mind. She prays for her feelings to reach him and she prays for these feelings to give him power. Bahamut strikes at Kirite again but he dodges it and leaps at Bahamut to strike it with his blade. Everyone is tense as they look at the results, but Bahamut’s skin repels most of the damage and it roars in triumph. However, Kirite sharply tells the dragon not to look down at the sword of Savila.
His blade starts to glow and it slices deep into the dragon making it roar in pain. Kirite yells out for Lilith to give him more power and so she prays harder. In response, her i-scepter starts to glow just like his sword and the two lights resonate. The next hit finishes Bahamut off and the dragon drops slowly through the clouds. Lilith only has eyes for Kirite though and when he starts to slump over she runs outside without a word to the other party members.
She clutches at him and yells in her head that she told him to return safely. Then she tells him that she doesn’t want him to die here. Kirite’s eyes open and he gasps in surprise, but she just angrily asks him what he’s looking at. He smiles slowly and tells her 「俺は女の腕の中で死ぬつもりは・・・ないから・・・な」(I don’t plan.. on dying.. in a woman’s arms). She calls him an idiot and tells him that she was really worried. He just says 「なに・・・ちょっとばかり力を・・・使いすぎただけ、だ・・・」(What.. I just used.. a little too much power..).
Lilith is still frowning and she points out that he’s supposed to say something when he comes back. Kirite’s response is to look at her with wide eyes and 「・・・ん？」(.. Huh?). She continues to stare at him seriously and tells him to hurry. A smile appears on his face again as he realizes what she’s getting at and he whispers 「ただいま・・・」(I’m home..). Lilith’s face softens as she replies 「うん、おかえりなさい、キリテ」(Un, welcome home, Kirite). I LOVE LOVE LOVEEE THIS CLICHE （人´∀`*）. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES IT’S USED I STILL GET TEARY AT HEARING TWO PEOPLE SAY THIS TO ONE ANOTHER.
Back in the airship, Nico reveals that the airship has sustained too much damage for them to safely continue the rest of the way. They won’t make it if they turn back though and so there’s no way but forward. Lilith protests at Nico’s actions and asks if there isn’t any other way, but it’s too late. As the ship starts to shudder and creak, Lilith trembles violently but Kirite murmurs to her 「リリス。大丈夫だ。俺がいる・・・」(Lilith. It’ll be alright. I’m here…) and then embraces her.
She can feel his body heat through their clothes and the sound of his beating heart. She manages to relax slowly in his arms. Meanwhile Nico, Nayuta, and Camus form a triumvirate to cast protective magic to aid the ship in its crash landing. And so the airship plunges into the storm and everything becomes dark.
*** EPISODE 「愛のすべて」(All of love) ***
Lilith dreams about Melrond and how he fell into a healing slumber due to the arrogance and damage that the humans caused him. She realizes through her dream that the gods still love humans though and then she hears Kirite calling her name. She tries to respond but her voice can’t seem to come out and she hears him start to become more frantic as he says 「リリス・・・リリス、目を覚ませ！」(Lilith.. Lilith, wake up!). She tries to tell him that she’s right here but then she finally manages to wake up and say his name groggily.
He exhales loudly in relief when he notices that she’s finally conscious. She tries to ask him where they are, but he ignores her question and asks her worriedly 「どこか打ってないか？痛いところは？」(Did you hit anything? Are you hurt anywhere?). She shakes her head slowly and tells him that she seems to be uninjured and so he doesn’t need to be that worried since she’s fine. A blush appears on his cheeks as he murmurs 「い、いや・・・だが、当然だろう。何度呼んでも目を覚まさないんだから」(N-No.. well.. it’s natural. No matter how many times I called you didn’t wake up).
She starts to blush as she slowly tells him that since she’s fine he can release her now. Kirite stutters out 「こ、これはだな、べつに他意があったわけではなく・・・振り起こそうとしただけで、抱きしめたとか・・・そういう・・・」(Th-this thing is-.. it’s not that I had another intention.. I was shaking you awake, so that’s why I was hugging you.. I mean..). Lilith smiles and tells him that it makes her happy. His brows furrow as he repeats 「うれし・・・ん？」(Happ-.. Hm?) because he didn’t catch all of it. Her smile becomes larger as she shakes her head and tells him it’s nothing.
Anyway, she asks him where they are because she remembered being on the airship. Kirite asks her if she remembers hitting the barrier of Melrond and she nods before also recalling that the airship started breaking at that. She asks him what happened to the airship, but Kirite can only remember everyone falling out of it. Lilith realizes that they’re in Melrond and she asks where everyone else is but Kirite doesn’t know. She hopes they’re safe but he’s sure that they are since the two of them are fine.
Lilith falls silent for a second before she tells him to show her his arm. He tells her that it’s nothing though, but she frowns and tells him that it isn’t nothing because she remembers it being hit hard. Kirite just continues to protest and tell her that it isn’t deep and so it’ll heal quickly. However, she remembers that when they were being thrown out of the airship someone had wrapped an arm around her. She states that it was him wasn’t it, but he just tells her not to worry about him.
She looks at him in distress though because he hurt his arm by protecting her. She thanks him deeply and his eyes widen as he tells her 「そんな・・・頭を下げられるようなことじゃない。きっと俺でなくとも皆同じことをする」(It.. It isn’t something to bow your head for. I’m sure that it’s not just me, the others would do the same). Lilith tells him sternly that she’ll cast her healing magic on him right now. He thinks that casting her healing magic is a bit too much for his injury, but she just tells him that it’s fine and he shouldn’t move.
After she heals his wounds she points out that if he didn’t protect her then he wouldn’t have been injured like that. He reluctantly admits that she’s right and then she thanks him again. Kirite informs her 「何度も言わなくていい。わかってる」(You don’t have to say it so many times. I understand) but she protests that he’s always becoming injured for her sake and so she feels like she has to thank him for those countless times. He chuckles and points out that it’s so like her to be that way.
Then he murmurs with a blush 「・・・すまなかったな。治癒魔法のおかげですっかり傷もなくなった」(.. It’s a bit sad. Thanks to your healing magic, the wound is completely healed). She tells him that she’s glad and then he suggests that they look around for the others because he’s sure they’re all separated like them too. Lilith agrees with his plan but before they move out he asks her 「俺は大丈夫だが、リリスはもう歩けるのか？」(I’m fine, but can you walk?). He explains 「頭でも打っているかもしれないんだ、少し休んでからにした方が・・・」(You might have hit your head and so it might better if we rest..).
Lilith interrupts and tells him firmly that she’s fine. He nods at that and then tells her that they need to find everyone before it becomes dark then. The two of them walk into the ruins of Melrond while searching for the others and Lilith notices that he’s deep in thought. She asks him about it since he sighed loudly and so Kirite confesses that looking at these ruins in Melrond reminds him of Savila. He wonders if Melrond suffered the same fate as Savila and was destroyed by a god.
She shakes her head though and informs him that it’s different. He asks her how she knows though because the destruction is similar between the two countries. In fact, he wonders if this country was destroyed by Rognar as well. She shakes her head again and confesses that she had a dream while she was unconscious. Kirite looks at her in surprise and asks her what kind of dream. Lilith doesn’t know, but in the dream someone was talking to her in a kind voice and it told her that the hubris of men wounded Melrond.
And so right now the country is in a deep slumber with the god of Melrond healing it slowly. Kirite repeats some of her words and she nods before informing him that the darkness of Melrond is a healing darkness. Embraced in darkness, Melrond is quietly healing. Kirite remembers hearing about the lost technology Melrond had and he realizes that with this technology the people of Melrond destroyed their own country. He wonders out loud if Melrond was destroyed even though it chose a different path than Savila.
Lilith agrees hesitantly and then she wonders if the sacred sword of Savila is one of Melrond’s technologies, because Rognar used it to destroy Savila. Kirite confesses that he can see the sword as being part of a lost technology but Savila is different from Melrond in that it was just protecting the sword. His country did nothing to deserve punishment from a god. Lilith tells him loudly to calm down because she can hear the anger rising in his voice.
He nods in agreement and apologizes for becoming distracted. She understands that it can’t be helped since he wants to know why his country was destroyed. Kirite confesses that he doesn’t want to think that the reason Savila was destroyed was just because it could be. She nods in pain because the thought of it is cruel. Kirite decides that the first thing to do is to beat Rognar and then he wants to hear his reason. Then he calls for Lilith’s attention because he sees a human shape.
They manage to meet up with the rest of the party. Nico informs them that the ship is in bad shape but he can find the parts to fix it here in Melrond. Rognar appears to address them and calls them idiots for trying to stop him when he’s giving people salvation in the form of death. Nayuta addresses him as the black winged god and tells him that they’ll stop him even if they can’t kill him. Rognar just sniffs in derision and tells them that if they can’t accept his goals then they should just die.
Nico leads them into the government office and Nate brings up the question of how Nico knows this place so well. This prompts Nico to ask the party if they don’t mind the fact that he has so many secrets and everyone admits that he’s their friend and companion and so they believe in him. The party advances into the control room and find Rognar there. There he talks about his noble goal is to give humans salvation from the love lost by killing them. Lilith vows to stop him though and so they prepare to fight.
Kirite calls out to Rognar and tells him that the time has come for them to end this. Rognar addresses him as the remnants of Savila and notes how he seems to have joined the group to chase after him. Kirite harshly tells him to shut up. Then Rognar admits that he doesn’t understand why Kirite is staring at him with so much hatred, because he bestowed salvation to Savila’s people and so Kirite should be proud. Kirite snarls out an insult to Rognar, but Rognar just asks him calmly why he’s so angry.
He prevented Savila’s destruction by granting them salvation. If they can’t accept that then he will go on killing countless people and destroying countless countries until humans remember to love him as a god and return him to their hearts. Lilith finally realizes that Rognar has descended into utter madness. There’s nothing left but this sad existence of believing he can save people by killing them. Kirite shouts out that Rognar is insane, because he can’t accept Rognar’s reason for destroying Savila.
Lilith speaks up though and tells Kirite that he can’t be blinded by his hatred. His eyes widen as he says her name and she reminds him not to forget that a blade clouded by hatred and pain can’t defeat its enemy. Kirite nods slowly and finishes her sentence by saying that the enemy is one’s own heart. Lilith returns his nod and is relieved to know that he’ll be fine from now on. Kirite thanks her for reminding him and then draws his blade.
He faces Rognar again and informs him that he’s wielding this blade for the future. It’s not for his revenge but to stop Rognar. Rognar’s face twists into a snarl as he asks why they think that they need to stop him. Kirite takes a step towards Rognar who is still standing there with a twisted smirk on his face. Then Kirite tells Rognar not to make light of Savila’s blade and then he attacks. His blade is repelled by Rognar’s sword and Rognar sneers at this show of power from Savila’s samurai.
Rognar launches arrows of darkness at Kirite and though he doesn’t get injured, he has to take a step back at the pressure. Rognar makes more derisive remarks but Kirite just ignores him and calls upon the power of his ancestors. His blade glimmers with power and the next slice manages to injure Rognar which pisses him off. The two of them separate again and Kirite calls for Lilith to lend him her power. She nods and starts to pray and his sword once again glows with an unearthly light.
Kirite informs Rognar that the next strike will decide everything and Rognar sneers at how they think that they, as humans, can defeat him, a god!? The two leap at each other and through each other with their blades but Kirite wins and Rognar collapses in disbelief. His feathers start to fall down but Rognar still tries to continue talking about how he needs to save the world. Nate asks him how he still can’t understand that he’s wrong and then Nico interrogates Rognar. He doesn’t have any information for them though and he’s starting to disappear.
Rognar asks Kirite painfully if he’s not going to kill him, but Kirite averts his eyes and tells him that his revenge has already been fulfilled. And then Yufisu’s warm light envelops Rognar and purifies him. He fades away and all that is left is a single white feather. Anyway, Nico helps Lilith send out a message to the world about how Rognar is defeated but then she hears a sinister voice start to curse her and orders for her to die. She feels as if her heart is being torn into pieces and everyone in the party starts to become frantic with worry.
However, she collapses and her consciousness fades into darkness. Melrond embraces her though and tells her to sleep and rest in the darkness because it’ll heal her. Lilith asks who’s talking to her because although the voice is kind it’s too kind and she’s becoming scared. She’s scared of how dark it is and how there is no light. Then she hears a voice call her name and she asks who it is. It’s Kirite’s voice and he once again calls out 「リリス・・・戻って来い・・・」(Lilith.. come back). A light slowly starts to appear and he tells her 「君は俺を導いてくれた・・・。今度は俺が・・・」(You showed me the way.. It’s my turn..).
Lilith asks slowly who this voice is but then she realizes that she knows it. Kirite continues on to say 「約束・・・そう約束だ・・・。今度は君のことを俺が導いて・・・」(Promise.. yes, I promised.. This time, I will show you the way). His silhouette starts to walk away and she calls for him to wait. Her words come out slowly as she tries to speak through her pain. She remembers their promise that he would lead her and she tells him not to leave her. Kirite tells her 「置いていったりはしない・・・」(I won’t leave you..). But she frantically points out that his silhouette is becoming more and more distant.
Kirite’s voice tells her 「自分の足で・・・さあ立って・・・。俺のところに・・・。その足で・・・」(With your own feet.. now stand.. To the place that I am at.. those feet..). Lilith sobs out that she can’t stand and she can no longer run. Kirite’s silhouette crosses its arms though and tells her 「リリス・・・君はそんなに弱くなかった・・・はずだ。だから自分の足で・・・さあ・・・立てるから・・・まだ歩けるから・・・」(Lilith.. it’s impossible for you to have become so weak. That’s why, with your own feet.. stand.. you can still walk). Lilith nods determinedly at that and figuratively pulls herself up.
His voice sounds proud as he tells her 「そう、自分の足で立つんだ。そしてまた歩き出すんだ・・・一緒に・・・」(Yes, you’re standing on your own feet. Now you can walk again.. together with me..). Lilith nods and starts to stumble to where his silhouette is while repeating that she wants to be together with him. The shadow over his features disappears slowly the closer she gets and she calls out his name in surprise. He just tells her 「リリス・・・君ならきっとまた歩き出せる。そう信じていた」(Lilith.. if it’s you then you’ll definitely be able to walk. I believe that).
Lilith nods and informs him that it was because his voice was guiding her. Everytime she feels troubled or sad it’s he who brings her out of it. Whenever she’s full of doubts and in pain, the one who helps her continue to walk is him. She doesn’t believe that she can guide him out of the deep pain in his heart, but if they’re walking together then she thinks they can do it. That’s why she wants to walk by his side.. one more time. No matter what pain lies in wait for them, she knows that she can continue to walk with him to wherever he goes.
She asks him if he doesn’t think the same and then pleads for him not to make such a solemn face. She wants him to laugh and smile with her. Kirite’s image smiles softly and fades away as she walks towards him which makes her call out for him to wait and to take her with him. Melrond notes how she wants to return to the light and tells her that he’ll escort her there with the blessings of darkness. She wakes up to see Kirite hovering over her and she calls out his name in a whisper. He inhales sharply and asks her if she’s conscious and aware of everything now.
Lilith asks him slowly where they are and what happened to her. But he just tells her in an emotional voice 「良かった・・・このまま目を覚まさないかと思った・・・。良かった・・」(I’m glad.. I thought you’d never wake up… I’m so glad..). She tells him that she wouldn’t do that because they promised. Kirite looks at her in confusion and asks her what promise. She explains that they promised to walk together through thick and thin. Then she gets back to her feet and asks everyone where she is. Kirite explains that they’re in Melrond after she collapsed. SERIOUSLY, WHERE DOES THE BLUE SKY COME FROM?
Nico tells everyone his suspicions of her being cursed by the love lost because her symptoms were like it. Lilith informs everyone that she was cast into darkness by the voice but then Melrond saved her and hid her in the darkness. She was also saved by someone else. Kirite asks her if another god lent her their hand, but she shakes her head because the other person who saved her was.. she looks toward Kirite. It was her bond with Kirite. Kirite notices her staring at him and he asks her if something’s the matter. She hurriedly shakes her head and tells him it’s nothing.
Anyway, everyone is glad that she’s safe and unharmed. Then Lilith informs everyone that she wants to meet with the high priestess in Ingrid. Soo suggests that they examine the state of the world now that Rognar is defeated though and the rest of the party agrees. And so Lilith shatters the barrier around Melrond with the help of Melrond’s power and Nico reveals that he’s fixed the ship while she was unconscious. The party returns to Dinus to learn about the state of the world from Madam. Love lost is still destroying the world and so Rognar really was unconnected.
However, there are still plenty of things to do and Madam finally believes in Lilith and addresses her as the saint. She tells Lilith that her voice did bring hope to her and so she should go out and save more people. The party heads to Amafi and everyone becomes frustrated at Heathcliff’s lack of care to the destruction of the world. Lilith protests and points out that tells him that it’s weird not to resist and fight against the destruction of their world. Heathcliff gives them a speech about how there is no right and wrong and the future is undetermined.
Kirite tells him that they’ll make their own justice and decide what is right then. He definitely doesn’t think that what happened to Savila was the right thing and so he won’t let the world become like Savila. He finishes with 「ならば、俺がやることはひとつだけ。どこまでもリリスと共にある。それだけだ」(In that case, there is only one thing for me to do. To be with Lilith no matter where she is. That is all). Heathcliff chuckles and tells them that they should go and save the world then. The next place the party goes to visit is Dodona and Lilith visits the shrine there.
She is attacked by a wave of depression at her inability to do anything or save anyone despite the fact that she’s a saint. And so she starts praying to Yufisu. Kirite comes in at the end though and sighs quietly while saying her name. She glances at him in surprise and then asks him if he heard her prayers. He answers her by noting how she seems to be trapped in depression and he wants to tell her that she can talk to him if she wants, but he can already tell that it wouldn’t be a solution.
Lilith tells him that she’s fine after a long pause and he tells her calmly that he can’t see her being fine at all. He suggests that she talk to someone to feel more at ease. Lilith nods glumly and so they take a walk around her village as she unloads all her worries and troubles onto him. Afterwards, he asks her if she feels better. But she asks him if he can remain by her side a little longer. He tells her softly 「ああ・・・それでリリスが落ち着くなら」(Aa.. if it’ll calm you). She nods and confesses that she does feel calmer with someone beside her.
He wonders out loud if it would be better if she heard some uplifting words too, but then he admits that he’s terrible at that. Lilith shakes her head though and confesses that just him being by her side like this calms her down. Then he tells her 「そうか・・・なら、こうするか」(I see.. then, how about this?) and he takes her hand in his. She splutters in surprise and a blush rises on her cheeks as she says his name questioningly. He explains 「言葉はかけられないが、これくらいならしてやれる」(I might not be able to find my words, but at least I can do this). She stutters out that she can’t exactly relax like this.
And even he admits that he’s also can’t relax because he’s not used to holding people’s hands. Lilith cracks a smile as she notes how weird they both are. Kirite smiles back and tells her gently 「・・・かもしれない。だが、このつないだ手の温もり・・・喪いたくはないな」(.. Maybe. But, the warmth of our clasped hands.. I don’t want to part with it). He tries to tell her that he doesn’t want to lose the things precious to him anymore, but then he cuts himself off and tells her with a wry grin that right now it’s her time to unload everything.
Lilith hums at that and then confesses that she also thinks of the warmth in his hand as a precious thing. And that’s why she also doesn’t want to part with it. So then he asks her hesitantly 「なら、しばらくこうしているか」(Then, let’s remain like this for a little while). She nods quietly with a blush. Later on he notes how she seems to have become relaxed. Lilith tells him that it’s all because of him and she thanks him for accompanying her. He tells her that he didn’t do anything though because all he did was listen to her.
But she assures him that she really does feel at peace and she’s glad that she decided to talk to him. He gives her a small smile and tells her 「話を聞くくらいなら、いつでもつきあうぞ」(If it’s just to talk, I’m always free). She asks him 「話を聞くだけ・・・？」(Just to talk..?) and he gives her a look of confusion because he didn’t catch her words. Lilith hurriedly shakes her head and tells him that it’s nothing and she was just talking to herself. I’D LIKE TO DO MORE THAN “JUST” TALK, ISN’T THAT RIGHT LILITH ﾌﾟｯ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵.?
Anyway, they return to the airship and the party heads to Ingrid only to find out that it’s completely enveloped by the love lost. The villagers have all but given up and some are so crazy that they attack Lilith. Lilith orders everyone to go to the shrine and along the way they meet a knight who reveals that the holy knight brigade has been disbanded. In her throne room, Remuna is stuck in an infinite depression and she’s given up on everything. Lilith asks Nayuta to lead the party into the shrine because she’s figured out who the person is behind the love lost.
Horo appears after Lilith breaks his concealment and he reveals that he wishes destruction upon the world because it has forgotten his poor mother. He’s destroying the world in the name of love and then he’ll resurrect it with his mother in the seat of honor. Anyway, Horo disappears after telling them all that he’s going to destroy the world. The party run out of the shrine to find that the city is under attack by monsters and so they defeat the monsters. Then Nayuta convinces Remuna not to give up hope.
Finally, Remuna believes in Lilith to be a saint who will save the world. Anyway, the party decides to split up to save the rest of the towns in the world from the monsters. Lilith manages to get Nico to give them all his magical items that will teleport them back to Marjune when they’re done and then he drops everyone off at their destination with Lilith and Kirite going to Savila. They reach Savila only to find that the revival village there is being attacked by monsters led by Sacred Nebulim.
Kirite immediately attacks him and drives him back and away from the villagers in the village. Lilith asks the man if he’s alright and he nods shakily and then tells them that he can’t run away from this place since they’ve just started rebuilding it. Kirite orders them to retreat to the palace though because they can fight from there. The man tries to protest and Lilith does as well, but Kirite commands her sternly to listen to him. He’ll cover their backs and she should believe in him.
And so everyone ends up listening to him and they retreat to the palace. When they’re there Kirite orders everyone to search this room for a weapon, because he knows that it used to hold weapons. The people are talking amongst themselves and one of them wonders who Kirite is. Another notices that Kirite is wearing their style of clothes but he’s never seen Kirite before. Another man tells the rest that he heard Kirite was traveling to save the world with the saint and so they should listen to him.
Another wonders about how Kirite knows this place so well. Then one of them recognizes the blade that he’s carrying to be a blade that is passed down the royal bloodline. Another guy remembers hearing that 10 years ago, when Savila was destroyed, the only survivor was Kaien’s son, Kirite. One of them tries to recall Kirite’s name but then Lilith calls for Kirite’s attention and tells him that Sacred Nebulim is here. When the group of men hear Kirite’s name they all gasp in shock.
Anyway, a battle starts between the monsters and the men and Lilith notes how their faces are filled with nervousness but not despair. She comments on how strong they are and Kirite agrees because he thought they’d have been affected by the love lost. He’s filled with pride at how they’re able to advance forward without a king. She agrees with him and he chuckles at her immediate agreement. She wonders if Savila’s god is protecting its people from love lost and giving them strength. Kirite looks at her in confusion.
Lilith explains that she’s sure Savila was heartbroken when Rognar destroyed the land and all the people. And so, the god must treasure its last remaining people. Kirite falls silent in thought and then he asks Lilith to come with him because he just remembered that there was a shrine to Savila in the palace. When they reach the shrine, Kirite tries to look for the shrine but it’s hard to see in the dark. He suddenly feels something though and asks if she can feel it. She can’t, but she does see a glowing light.
Kirite is stunned as he can feel power entering him bit by bit and Lilith comments on how his Vakista powers seems to be increasing. Kirite realizes that the light is Savila’s hope and wishes. But he realizes that there’s a bit of despair in there too, however Lilith tells him to believe in Savila’s people. After all, they are reviving the destroyed city and Kirite realizes that she’s right. If he doesn’t believe in Savila’s people then who will. He cups the small light in order to bring it out to the people.
But the moment he does, the light expands and floats up into the sky to shine down on everyone. Lilith realizes that the people of Savila never lost their hope. This light is a symbol of the hope that remains in their hearts. Kirite addresses the people of Savila with a yell and tells them that this is the light of hope and as long as it remains in their country then they will never give in to despair. They will never let Savila be destroyed no matter what comes to them.
Lilith comments on the people’s enthusiasm and Kirite remains silent. She takes a peek at him and asks him if he’s so moved that he’s crying. In response he starts blushing and stutters out that he’s not crying. It’s just that he didn’t realize there were so many people waiting for his return. She gently points out that the revival project is a call out to the other people of Savila that are still out in the world. Kirite disagrees softly.
He thinks that the people are enthusiastic about the return of Savila. As long as one of them remains then Savila will never be destroyed. Lilith smiles and tells him that she thinks the revival project will be a success. He agrees that in 5 years, maybe even 1, the country will become a beautiful place again. Lilith comments on how that would be nice if it happened but Kirite tells her seriously that they’re going to make it happen.
One of the men enters the room and informs Kirite that the people want to hear a word from their new king. Kirite’s eyes widen in shock as he blurts out that he’s not a king. The man just gently tells him that he’s Lord Kirite, the last of the royal bloodline. Kirite remains silent with a troubled face but then he finally decides that if it’s the people’s wish then he’ll stand in front of them not as their king but as one of them. And so Kirite steps out onto a balcony and everyone looks up at him in silence.
He takes a deep breath and addresses them as the people of Savila. He tells them that they are Savila. They are what make up this country. The road to the rebirth of Savila is rugged and steep, but he will walk with them as one of Savila’s people. He thanks them and tells them that the people gathered here today are Savila’s people. Lilith notes that the person in front of her, who used to be bad with words and found it difficult to talk, has been transformed. It’s as if she’s seeing a different person.
Looking at his bright smiling face, she couldn’t help but smile along with him. She’s sure that as long as the people of this country smile like that then the revival project will be successful. The building suddenly shakes and one of the men report to Kirite about monsters and a black winged man appearing. It’s Sacred Nebulim! Kirite orders the rest of the people to find a safe place to hide and when one of them asks if he’ll fight, he tells them that it’s natural he would.
A king has the duty of protecting his people. Then he looks towards Lilith and tells her that he also has a responsibility of saving the world with her. Lilith nods determinedly and tells him that they won’t let Savila experience destruction a second time. Everyone starts fighting the monsters in the palace but there’s too many of them and Lilith thinks about how nice it would be if they could end it in one blow. She wishes that she had the power to help fight and so she starts praying. She prays for the power to help Kirite and to protect Savila.
She prays for Savila to return to its beautiful state and for hope not to be lost. A flickering light starts to glow softly around her i-scepter but then it starts to become bigger as she thinks about the love that Kirite holds for his country. It becomes even greater as she thinks about the love that the people around them hold for the country. For a split second, doubts about whether or not they can finish this in one blow assault her but Kirite lays his hand on her shoulder.
He tells her 「不安か？だが、お前自身の力を信じろ。そしてーー俺を信じろ」(Uneasy? But you should believe in your own power. And.. believe in me!). BELIEVE IN ME WHO BELIEVES IN YOU (ﾉ´∀｀*)ﾉ. Strangely enough, hearing his warm and strong voice dispels all her doubts. She returns his intense gaze and then looks towards the monsters. In one slice he defeats Sacred Nebulim and the rest of the monsters are soon finished off by the rest of the people. Lilith thanks him for supporting her when she started faltering. But he just smiles and tells her that she worked hard until the last moment.
Then he’s quickly surrounded by his people who start cheering for their new king. Kirite can’t help but continue to thank them in an emotional voice. Lilith watches over him with gentle eyes and thinks about how as long as they don’t throw away their hope and as long as they’re beside their precious person then they’ll be able to defeat Horo with their powers of love. Afterwards, Kirite and Lilith retreat to the throne room to relax and he faces the empty throne before addressing his father and telling him that he thinks Savila will be alright from now on.
They’ve defeated the monsters and Sacred Nebulim. He’s sure the people will be fine without him and his Vakista powers. He believes in that. He also has the confidence that the people of Savila hold within themselves the power of Savila’s light. He feels as if the country will be revived into one that was more beautiful and more abundant than it was before. Then he requests for his father to watch over and protect it. Kirite silently bows his head to the empty throne.
Lilith finally congratulates him on working hard and confesses that he looked really cool. Kirite instantly blushes and asks her if she really thought that in a stutter. Their moment is interrupted by men rushing in to tell Kirite that they were really moved by his speech. Another one tells him that the people would love to be led by him. Kirite frantically tells them to wait because he didn’t hear about this and he had no plans to do such a thing. He looks over at Lilith and desperately asks her what he should do.
She smiles teasingly and tells him 「王様になっちゃう？」(Become their king?) to which he responds 「冗談はやめてくれ」(Please stop joking) with a blush. Lilith tells him that she’s not joking because she thinks Savila needs a royal family. He doesn’t think that he has the right to lead the country since he threw it away once. She tells him that she thinks he has more than enough rights to it. She’s not sure if she’s saying something arrogant, but she believes that a king is chosen by the people of the country.
He repeats her words quietly and then one of them interrupts to say that they would willingly lay down their life for their king. Kirite immediately narrows his eyes and tells them to listen carefully but he won’t permit them to toss away their lives like that. He wants them to live and bring Savila back to the country that it was. For that sake he won’t let them toss their lives away. Unfortunately, he still has unfinished business and so he wants them to continue rebuilding without him.
The man tries to protest but Kirite tells him not to worry because after his business is finished he’ll return to this country to help bring it back to life. He apologizes quietly and then tells Lilith that they should leave now. She asks him if he’s really alright with his decision because there seems to be things to do here still for him. Kirite gives her an intense stare and asks her if she’s serious. Did she really think that he would let her be alone at the very end?
Lilith giggles and tells him that in truth she thought he’d say that. Kirite just tells her that as a king he’ll use his sword to open up a new future. A king like that is good right? And so the two of them leave Savila to continue their journey of defeating Horo. The two of them use Nico’s magical item to return to the Forested Marjune. The rest of the party members haven’t made it yet and so the two of them take a stroll around the forest. She sighs loudly and he asks her if she’s tired.
When she looks at him in confusion and asks him how he knew, he explains that he’s been by her side through everything. And so he knows of how the tiring things are slowly piling up on them. He thinks that a woman like her shouldn’t have to bear such a burden. Lilith explains that she’s not exactly tired, but it’s just that a lot of painful things have happened. However, coming to this forest makes her feel as if she’s being healed. Kirite agrees quietly and she comments on how she’s happy they came here.
He’s glad for that since it would be troubling if she collapsed to the burden of her responsibilities. But then she tells him that it’s because everyone is with her that she’s able to try her hardest. They walk together in silence for a few minutes before she comments on how this place is really beautiful. The waters are cold but clear and there are many beautiful flowers. She can almost forget about the state of the world when she’s here. Kirite softly agrees with her about how this place is beautiful and it relaxes him.
Then he confesses that he has her to thank for that. Lilith looks at him in surprise and he explains that the past him wouldn’t have been able to appreciate the beautiful flowers or the sweet atmosphere. He feels like she taught him about a lot of new things. Lilith thinks that she’s the one who should thank him though. It’s because he’s by her side that she’s able to look around and think about how beautiful everything is. After all, it’d be lonely if only one person thought about it by themselves.
She asks him if he doesn’t think that it’s fun to talk together like this? His response is simply 「なるほど」(I see). A MAN OF FEW WORDS.. MY KIRITE Σ(＾∀＾;). Lilith asks him if they can spend a little more time here looking at the scenery and he nods since he realizes that this is the only time that they have to do this. Lilith asks him if they can talk after as well. He seems surprised and then he asks her hesitantly 「・・・君は、俺と話をしていて・・・その、つまらなくはないか・・・？」(.. You want to talk with me.. umm, you don’t find it boring..?).
Lilith tells him fiercely that she would never think that and she has a lot of fun when she talks to him. He murmurs 「そうか・・」(Really..?) and she nods in reply. Then he tells her that he thinks taking a break like this is a good thing since it’s allowed htem to realize how beautiful the world is. Lilith agrees since it reminds them of why they want to save the world. Kirite stares at her intensely as he says 「・・・そうだな。この美しい世界を・・・もっと君と一緒に見ていたい」(.. That’s right. This beautiful world.. I want to see more of it with you).
She smiles and tells him that they will but first they need to defeat Horo. He agrees and then the two of them meet up with their companions again. Nayuta reveals that he’s ascended from a knight to a priest and so he received a change of clothes. Meanwhile, Nico informs everyone that he finally became a Vakista. He was in Melrond thinking about why he’s a part of their group and then realized that it’s because of the saint’s love. Everyone is flabbergasted.
Unfortunately, while everyone was saving their birthplace from monsters released by Horo they didn’t manage to find out where Horo was hiding. Lilith suddenly hears a voice though and Kirite asks her if she’s alright, but she just nods distractedly. Luverchi and Clear appear to her because their powers have been released after most of the Sacred Nebulim were defeated. They inform her that Horo is in the Sea of Oblivion and then beg for her to stop him. They disappear and Kirite asks her worriedly if she’s alright.
Lilith nods shakily and then explains to everyone that she just saw Luverchi and Clear and they told her where Horo was. The whole party returns to the airship and they prepare to set off to where Horo is, but before they do Kirite asks her if she’s ready. Lilith nods and then he tells her that if they can defeat Horo then they’ll save the world. All their fighting against gods will soon be over. She smiles and tells him that it’s because of him and the other Vakistas.
Kirite shakes his head though and tells her that it’s not just them. Everyone in the world is standing up to fight. Lilith agrees because they only came this far due to everyone’s wish to save the world. Kirite reminds her that defeating Horo is their duty though, because only they can do it. Lilith nods and orders Nico to move out to where Horo is.
*** EPISODE 「ビヨンド・ザ・フューチャー」(Beyond the Future) ***
Before the everyone sets off on their last adventure, Lilith and Kirite decide to spend some time alone together in Dodona. She finds him out on the streets and she asks him what he’s doing here. He tells her that he was just remembering everything that happened up to now. She nostalgically recalls how long it’s been and how many things have happened. The place that they’re both standing at is the place where she met Kirite for the first time. He asks her what her first impression of him wasn’t good.
Lilith giggles and shrugs at him teasingly before admitting that her first impression of him was that he frowns a lot and has a stern expression. Kirite blushes at that and says 「そう・・・か？」(Re-really..?). She nods and confesses that she thought he was a scary person and she saw that he was the kind of person who wanted to bear his heavy burden alone. Kirite becomes serious and admits that at that moment he had nothing in mind but his revenge. But somewhere along the way, by being by her side, he changed.
He was troubled about how he couldn’t face his ancestors. She smiles gently at him and tells him that he thinks too much. Kirite tells her that even if she says that, he wouldn’t be able to change because that’s just his nature. She just laughingly points out that he’s doing it right now with his serious answers. Kirite just smiles at her gently and then confesses that he, who was never able to change the way he did things, became more at ease when he was beside her.
And then he was able to think about things other than his revenge, like how large the world is. He starts blushing again and mutters 「・・・なんだろうな、今日の俺は少ししゃべりすぎている・・・」(.. What is this, today I’m a little talkative..). She points out that it’s occasionally a good thing. Kirite says to her softly 「そうか、こんな俺でもいいのか。リリス・・・君は本当に自由で、俺のすべてを受け入れてくれるーー」(Really, you’re fine with this kind of me as well? Lilith.. you’re really liberating, to accept everything of me–).
He adds solemnly 「なんて言っていいのか、言葉が出てこない。けれどただ一言・・・・・ありがとう」(What should I say.. the words won’t come out. I can only think of one word… Thank you). Lilith asks him teasingly 「言葉だけ？」(Just words?) and this makes Kirite look at her in confusion and say 「ん？・・・俺は女に贈り物をしたことがないし、お礼になにをあげるものなのか、わからないんだが」(Hn?.. I’ve never given a woman anything, and so I don’t know what to give other than my thanks). STOP TEASING HIM LILITH! IT’S SO UNFAIR BECAUSE HE’S CLUELESS TO THESE THINGS (〃ﾟ艸ﾟ):;*.
Lilith looks down at the ground in disappointment as she confesses that she’s not trying to say that she wants an object. Kirite frowns as he tells her 「モノじゃない？なら、一体・・・俺であげられるものなら、努力してみるが」(You don’t want a thing? Then what exactly.. if it’s something I can give you then I’ll endeavour to do it). She continues to look at the ground in disappointment and calls him thickheaded. His response is 「鈍感・・・・・？」(Thickheaded…?) because he doesn’t understand that she’s calling him that. LMAO I’M LAUGHING MYSELF TO TEARS AT THIS (/ω＼).
Finally she looks up and comments on how she shouldn’t be surprised since this is just like him. Kirite hurriedly tells her 「だから教えてくれと・・・」(That’s why you should teach me..) but Lilith just giggles and tells him that he’ll have to guess. She wants him to think about it veerry carefully. His brow furrows in confusion as he murmurs 「察しろ、か・・・これは難題だな」(Guess?.. This is a challenge). Lilith changes the topic though and notes how this is the last decisive battle. Kirite asks her if she’s scared.
To which she tells him that of course she’s scared. All she really wants to do is run away and make someone else save the world, but she’s already received the hopes and wishes of a lot of people. To make it so their feelings don’t go to waste she’s going to fight until the very end. She’s decided that she’s not going to cry anymore. He murmurs 「強くなったんだな、リリスは・・・」(You’ve become.. strong). She asks him if he really thinks so and then realizes that they should get going.
Kirite tells her 「行くか・・・最後の戦いに」(Let’s go.. to the last battle). She adds that they’re going to decide everything with this fight. Kirite finishes her sentence by saying that they’re fighting to open up a new future. The two of them return to the airship and then the whole party sets off to the Sea of Oblivion. They find the gate monster and realize that they have to leap into its mouth to enter the realm of the dead where Horo is waiting. Soo is once again the person who remains behind to defend the airship.
Before they leap Kirite takes her hand and squeezes it tightly. She returns the squeeze and feels herself become filled with courage at leaping straight into the monster’s mouth. Everyone else leaps off and then Kirite asks her if she’s prepared. She nods determinedly and then they leap through. Nayuta, Nate, and Camus clear the way for them because Kirite is still holding onto Lilith’s hands and then they land into the realm of the dead. They walk with the utmost caution but Nate draws his bow and shoots it past Lilith while ordering her not to move because something’s there.
A portal opens spitting out sand worms and they’re slowly becoming surrounded. But then Nate smirks and tells everyone to leave this to him. Lilith’s eyes widen and she asks him what he plans on doing, but he just tells her that he’ll take care of everything here. Everyone else should go on ahead. Lilith tells him that she can’t do that and he responds by saying that she can’t not go on. Soo is outside fighting for them and if they continue to argue here then they won’t be able to leave this place as soon as possible.
Kirite accepts Nate’s words and tells Lilith that they should go. She tries to protest but Nico interrupts and informs her that Nate is right. They can’t waste anymore time or else Horo will start to commence his plans. Nayuta tells Nate that they’ll be counting on him and he just gives them a fanged grin and tells them that he’ll cover their backs. They should just concentrate on looking forward. Lilith says his name quietly and he tells her not to make that kind of face. Camus thanks him solemnly but he just shrugs it off and orders them to go.
After the party leaves, Nate smirks and addresses all the sand worms and tells them that he’s their opponent. He won’t let them get in the way of his friends. Then he mutters 「・・・ったく。この俺が・・・、誰かのために戦うことになるなんて、なァ」(.. Shit. When did I start fighting for someone else’s sake?) and then he admits 「しかも、我慢だとか本当らしくねェ。・・・俺が最後まで守ってやりたかったんだけどな」(Moreover, it’s not like me to control myself… I really wanted to protect you until the end). He quickly draws and fires three arrows.
Lilith can hear the sound of arrows being drawn and fired behind her but chooses to respect his words and she refuses to look back. Nayuta realizes that in the end there will only be two, but no one else hears them. A monster suddenly roars and Lilith jumps in fright which makes Kirite ask her worriedly if she’s fine. She nods shakily but asks what made that noise but Camus just points forward. The two large Fenrirs appear and Nico explains that they’re enhanced by magic.
Nayuta smirks and tells him that even if they’re enhanced they won’t be able to do anything if they’re caged. Lilith tries to ask him what he’s planning on doing but then Kirite calls for her to watch out. One of the Fenrirs launch themselves at her but Nayuta steps in front and repels it. Nico compliments him on his plan while Camus compliments his magic. And then Nayuta orders them to leave him to deal with these monsters. When Lilith tries to protest he tells Kirite to take her away. Kirite nods and then tells everyone to move out.
Camus obeys him while Lilith gasps in shock. However, Nico reassures her by saying that if it’s Nayuta then he’ll be fine. They need to hurry to reach Horo. Kirite tells Nayuta that he’s going to rely on him and Nayuta just smirks in response and tells him to leave everything to him. They continue on and Lilith confesses that she doesn’t like how they’re leaving everyone behind one by one. Kirite tells her that it can’t be helped and they can only concentrate on the present.
Suddenly, door in front of them starts to close and it looks as if they won’t make it in time. Camus realizes that it can’t be helped and so he stops the door for them and tells them to go on. He’ll keep the door open until they get back and he’s going to rely on them to protect Lilith. Kirite promises Camus that he’ll definitely protect Lilith. After they leave he wonders about his feelings and how he feels like he can entrust Lilith to Kirite.
The rest of the party come up to a door that oozes a sinister presence. It seems like Horo is behind the door, but it’s guarded by a Sacred Nebulim that Nico notices first. Sacred Nebulim informs them coldly that they’re right but he won’t let them go through. He launches a few blades of darkness at them but Nico just calmly shields the party with a barrier. Sacred Nebulim sneers at them and tells them that he’s the strongest of all Sacred Nebulim and two Vakistas won’t be able to defeat him. Nico comments on how interesting that is and how he wishes to be his opponent then.
Lilith’s eyes widen as she calls his name but he tells her that it’s fine and that she and Kirite should go through the last gate. Soo, Nayuta, Nate, and Camus are using their own bodies to help clear the way and lead Kirite and Lilith to this point. Now this time it’s his turn to lend her his aid. Kirite tells Nico that he’s counting on him and Nico acknowledges it before sending them off with a cheerful smile. Lilith and Kirite leave Nico behind and walk through the gate.
They find themselves in a strange world with Horo standing in the middle of it. He greets her as the sage and Kirite as a samurai of Savila. He congratulates them on making it this far and even admits that he was a bit moved at how they slowly tossed away their companions one by one. But they’re fools to come this far with just the two of them. What exactly do they think they can do to him? Horo smiles coldly and points out how they threw everyone away to come here and die themselves. It might have been better if they all died together.
Lilith tells him that they won’t lose and she didn’t toss away her companions. Horo tells her that if she didn’t throw them away then why doesn’t he see anyone else? Or is she saying they all died? Lilith flinches at his poisonous words but then Kirite interrupts and tells Horo that he’s very wrong. They didn’t throw their companions away to advance forward. They believe in their companions and so they left them to take care of things behind them while they advanced forward.
Horo compliments him on his words and how the journey seemed to have given him a spirit. Kirite’s eyes widen in shock and Horo tells them not to be so surprised since he followed them on their journey up until now. Horo addresses Kirite as the prince who survived the destruction of his birthplace and chased after Rognar for revenge. He asks him cruelly if he wasn’t just running away from reality. Then he tells Kirite that his revenge on Rognar was just an indulgence so he didn’t have to face his birthplace.
Kirite tries to protest 「・・・そんなことは！」(.. That isn’t-!) but he can’t bring himself to finish it and Horo knows. He asks Kirite if he can really say, with all his heart, that his words are wrong? Lilith realizes that Horo’s words are poison and she grabs Kirite’s hand and squeezes it. In her head she doesn’t think that’s true because even though Kirite has his own weaknesses, he wouldn’t think such a thing. She believes in his strength. Kirite returns her squeeze and thanks her quietly.
Then he releases her hand and faces Horo again. He tells Horo to say whatever he likes, but he’ll find his own answer. Horo snickers and tells him that he can die with his answer in his arms then. Since he should be content enough to have found an answer. Kirite tells him that, unfortunately, he’s greedy and he won’t just stop after finding an answer. Because he won’t give up on their future! Kirite draws his blade out and Horo narrows his eyes as he realizes that there is no choice but to fight.
Their fight will decide whose future, his or theirs, will be chosen. The battle rages across the dome but Kirite has a clear advantage because Horo is physically weak. Finally, after being wounded a bit more Horo decides to call for the help of his monsters. But none of them answer and Kirite starts to genuinely laugh as he realizes that nothing is going to come out because they’re not fighting alone. Horo is filled with rage and so he snarls out that he’ll do this himself then. He launches a ball of darkness at them.
But Kirite shouts out 「・・・闇などもう、怖くない・・・！」(.. I’m no longer afraid of the likes of darkness..!) and then he slices right through it. Horo gasps in shock and Kirite just adds 「俺はもう闇を恐れない。あんたを恐れたりはしない。俺は・・・一人じゃない」(I’m not afraid of the darkness any more. I’m not afraid of you either. I’m.. no longer alone). This makes Horo freak out and he decides to self-destruct the place. Lilith is worried because her words and prayers won’t reach him anymore. She doesn’t know what to do but Kirite tells her not to worry and to lend him her powers.
She nods and tells him that she’ll always be by his side. They both face Horo and the oncoming destruction and she feels her fear begin to fade away in the wake of her belief in Kirite. A bright light starts to envelop them and Kirite says with a soft smile 「ああ・・・すぐそばにリリスを感じる。俺の中にリリスの愛が・・・満ちてゆく」(Aah.. I can feel you by my side. My love for you is.. overflowing). Horo angrily insults her as Yufisu’s saint but Lilith denies it and informs him that this power doesn’t come from being a saint.
It’s because she believes in Kirite and he believes in her. Then she yells that a person like him, who is alone, will never be able to understand their love. This just pisses him off and the next attack will decide everything. He sends hurls the love lost curse at them but she yells out that she’ll never give in to despair. Kirite declares 「もちろんだ・・・俺たちの絆は、愛は、この程度のことで・・・失われたりなどしないっ！」(Of course!.. Our bonds, our love, this degree of it.. We will never lose this!).
Their feelings combine and light up his sword and then Kirite yells out that they won’t lose and he grievously wounds Horo with his attack. Horo doesn’t understand how he’s losing and so Kirite explains that Horo would have won if he had been clouded by hate. But the one who stopped him from being consumed by revenge, the one who gave him the power to open a new future, the one who granted that was Lilith and her love. Horo painfully asks why he can’t reach his powers.
Kirite tells him that 「俺はリリスの愛を信じたからこそ、今ここに立っている」(I believe in Lilith’s love, that is how I’m standing here). Then he adds 「だが、貴様は己以外の愛を信じることができなかった。それが敗因だ」(But, you couldn’t bring yourself to believe in anyone’s love other than your own. That is your cause of defeat). Horo spits out that it’s impossible to believe in another person’s love. Kirite just coldly tells him to see with his own eyes, the power of his and Lilith’s love. Their feelings will destroy the curse on the world. She enhances Kirite’s blade with her i-scepter again and Horo dies in a white flash.
It might have been just her imagination but as he died she thought she saw resignation and relief on his face. She feels like he really wanted to love the people in this world, but his love for his mother became twisted. That’s what she wants to think. She wants to believe that the real power of love managed to cleanse Horo. She murmurs out loud that she might just be thinking too optimistically. Kirite looks at her in confusion and asks her if she said anything, but she just shakes her head and tells him its nothing.
This time it’s really the end. Kirite agrees and tells her that with this the world is saved. She continues to smile at him and he finally notices her looking at him and so he asks her if something is the matter. She tries to tell him it’s nothing, but he points out that it’s not nothing. Lilith finally admits that she was looking at his smile because this is the first time he smiled so brightly. He mentions awkwardly that it might be and Lilith admits that she would like him to always smile like that.
Kirite blushes at that and clears his throat with an embarrassed cough 「・・・お、おほん！そろそろ戻らないと、みんな心配してるな」(.. A-ahem! We should return soon, everyone will be worried). She tells him 「えっ・・・そっか。もうちょっと二人きり・・・あっ、もうキリテ！置いてかないで！」(Eh.. I see. I wanted to be alone with you for a-.. Ah, Kirite! Don’t leave me behind!). They return to find Nico wincing at all the pain he feels in his body, but he’s glad to see that it’s over. Kirite apologizes for making him push himself. But Nico thinks that the premise of a saint and a samurai saving the world will make a good story.
However, he informs them that it’s not over yet. Their story together is just beginning. Kirite chuckles and agrees with a small smile. Nico suggests that they leave this place to create their new future. They find Camus who is glad that Lilith is safe and then he tells her not to cry because she just saved the world. Kirite apologizes for making him push himself as well, but Camus just shrugs and tells him that he would do anything for Lilith.
They meet Nayuta next and he notes on how they somehow managed to be unharmed while saving the world. Kirite nods and then apologizes for placing a burden on him. He just smirks though and points out that it’s his job as a knight. If Kirite was in his place then he would do the same. Kirite can only chuckle and admit that he would. Nayuta points out that he doesn’t need to be thanked then. Lilith smiles and asks him if he’ll accept her gratitude then and so she thanks him.
Nayuta laughs and tells her that it’s an honor to receive thanks from the saint. Then he also suggests that they leave this place and adds 「キリテ殿、聖女のエスコートは任せたぞ」(Lord Kirite, I leave you the duty of escorting the saint). Kirite repeats the word in confusion and Nayuta explains that he can’t possibly be thinking of letting Lilith walk around alone. He’s going to make Kirite take his place of guarding Lilith. Kirite smiles slowly and tells him that he understands.
They meet up with Nate next and he notes how they came back unharmed. Kirite just smirks and tells him that it was obvious they would. Nate sighs and then congratulates Lilith before telling her that with this her heavy burden of being a saint has been fulfilled. Lilith nods slowly but then tells him that there are still a lot of things to do. Nate grumbles at how she should just ignore those, is what he would like to say but he realizes that he can’t.
Nate huffs and then points out that the two of them are really pessimistic. Kirite narrows his eyes and asks him who he’s calling pessimistic. Nate’s ears pin back and he laughs nervously before telling them not to worry about it. There will be trouble in the future and so he wishes them all the best. Kirite thanks him quietly and Nate shudders at how strange the atmosphere is becoming. He decides that they should leave this place now. They leave the realm of the dead and end up on the airship.
Lilith tells him that she’s glad he’s safe, to which he replies that those are his lines. He was thinking about going after them but decided to rest here. She asks him worriedly if he’s alright and he waves his hand dismissively saying that it was troublesome but he managed to do it because it’s him. Kirite interrupts and points out that it’s just like Soo to say that with wounds all over his body. Soo sticks out his tongue and complains about how Kirite’s lack of courtesy is the same as always.
He tells him to be more happy. Kirite just chuckles and tells Soo to leave him be because he’s already more than pleased enough. Soo asks if he’ll return to Savila and Kirite nods before informing everyone that he still has business there. Soo tells him to work hard with a smile and so Kirite suspiciously asks him why he’s saying that all of a sudden. Soo just shrugs and tells him that he should be allowed to do this occasionally. Then he tells Kirite to promise him something.
Kirite raises an eyebrow and Soo threatens Kirite by telling him to treasure Lilith. If Kirite doesn’t then he’ll go to Savila and make it a place for him to play in. Kirite chuckles and tells him that he’ll think about the latter part of Soo’s statement, but Soo doesn’t even need to mention the former. Soo nods firmly and tells him that if he does that then Soo can feel at ease and he’ll entrust Lilith to him. Lilith’s eyes widen in distress as she asks Soo what is with his lines.
To her, he sounds like her father or older brother. Soo admits that he feels like that too. He’s a bit sad that their journey together is ending. Lilith confesses that she feels the same way, but she’s glad that everyone is safe and they’ll all be returning home together. And so Nico guides the airship to land them outside of Dinus and the party does their victory walk up to Dinus. After a while, Lilith meets with Madam alone and she learns that Banstine, Kadash, and Remuna want to speak to her. And so she goes up to the palace to meet with them.
There she learns about the state of the world. The whole world is starting to repair itself and everyone has returned to living their life out normally. The three leaders thank her gratefully and she accepts it with much embarrassment and discomfort. Lilith returns back to Madam to tell her what the leaders wanted to talk to her about and she also tells Madam what happened to the rest of her party members. Nayuta is in Ingrid teaching everyone about hope and love. There are a lot of pilgrims. Soo is being a bum at the casino as usual.
Nate is in Midvan and he’s talking to someone in a tent about how the desert has changed again. The old man nods his head slowly and explains that the desert’s appearance will always change every day. Nate agrees and apologizes for being an intrusion but then thanks the old man for talking to him. The old man asks with disappointment if he’s leaving already and Nate barks with laughter, but tells him that he has places to be. It turns out that Nate and Nico are traveling together. Nico doesn’t care what he does, but Nate wanted to see how everyone was living and doing in the world.
Lilith notices that the more the two travel together the closer they become. They make a good combo. The next scene shows Nico chuckling in the control room about how he wanted to examine humans more. However, he thinks it’d be nice to let the world have a few years of peace. Nate’s voice calls out for Nico and he tells him that they should move on to the next place. Lilith is looking forward to the things they can talk about when they meet again. Camus remains in Amafi to help Heathcliff.
The last two members of the party, Lilith and Kirite, ended up in Savila to help with the revival project. The wounds that Rognar left on the country are deep though and a lot of time and care will be needed to erase it. When they finish building a shrine in Savila, Lilith will become a priestess there. Right now, the two of them are taking a break on the beach after working to help repair buildings and whatnot. Lilith asks Kirite if he doesn’t want to rest because he hasn’t eaten anything since the morning. She informs him that she made him a bento.
Kirite thanks her distractedly but then tells her that he wanted to talk to some other people about the state of the revival project. Lilith frowns and points out that if he does that then he’ll just get caught up in working again and he won’t eat. Kirite averts his eyes and admits that he finds the revival project to be more important than his body. He apologizes for always worrying her. Lilith tells him that if he apologizes like that then she won’t be able to say anything. Then she reminds him to think about his body some more.
She tells him that she understands why he’s working this hard. Their moment together is interrupted by a man who informs Kirite that a delegation has come to meet him. Kirite nods and then thanks Lilith for her care, but he has to leave to meet with the delegation. Lilith sighs and looks at the ground in disappointment which causes the man who is still standing there to hesitantly suggest that he can create some time for them to spend alone. Lilith’s eyes widen in shock and she frantically tells him that it’s fine and he doesn’t need to.
Lilith chides herself in her mind and reminds herself not to make that kind of face when other people are around. The villager protests though and mentions 「しかし、このままでは奥方様がいささかおかわいそうで・・・」(But, at this rate the Mistress will be sad..). Lilith’s jaw drops as she repeats the title he called her and the villager looks at her in confusion and asks her if she isn’t Kirite’s wife, because he always sees them together. COME ON KIRITE EVEN YOUR OWN PEOPLE SEE IT (*ﾉ∀ﾉ)ｲﾔﾝ. She repeats the title in her mind and then sighs loudly.
In fact her vision starts to blur with tears as she thinks about it. The Mistress of Savila would be Kirite’s wife and she thinks she might be happy if that were true, but Kirite hasn’t said anything to her about their relationship even though the people around her just assume she’s his wife. She wonders what he thinks of her. She knows they both have love for one another, but before they could clarify anything the revival project for Savila commenced and so they’ve never had time to talk to each other.
Even though they’re in the same country and living in the same place, she feels farther from him than she did while they were journeying. She wonders in sadness if time will just continue to pass with them like this. She starts wishing that she could spend time with the person that she loves. As if they knew her thoughts, Kirite’s men shift his schedule so that the two of them have some time together. And on that day, Kirite takes her up the tallest mountain. He tells her to look around at Savila and how it’s starting to heal.
Savila’s blackened landscape is starting to become covered in grass and she asks him if he’ll build a house here. He tells her that he wants to concentrate on building houses for the villagers first before he thinks about anything grand. Then he admits that when things have calmed down he wants to create a dojo that will produce future samurai. Kirite talks about how there’s nothing here yet, but soon his country will enter into a bright new future.
For some reason, while listening to him talk about the future, Lilith’s chest starts to hurt. She averts her eyes to the ground but Kirite notices immediately and asks her if there’s something wrong. She hesitantly asks him if she can ask him a question and he tells her that he’ll listen to anything she has to say. Lilith looks at him bravely and tells him that she understands his dream, but she wants to know if she’s also in his dream of the future. She blurted out the source of her insecurity.
Kirite is always talking about Savila’s future. About what kind of country it will become. About what kind of revival it is going through. But she has never heard him speak about their future together. Kirite blinks and asks her 「どういう意味だ・・・？」(What do you mean..?) which makes her look at the ground in despair. Kirite looks extremely troubled as he explains to her 「言ってくれなければ、分からない。リリスはもう知っていると思うが・・・。俺は察しが悪い男なんだ」(If you don’t say it then I won’t understand. I thought you already knew but.. I’m terrible at guessing).
Lilith admits that she knows and that’s why she’s always remained silent. She tells him that she didn’t want to just spring it onto him, or more like she wanted him to realize and notice it by himself. Kirite continues to look at her in confusion and so she asks him frankly if he has a place for her in his dream of the future. He tells her slowly 「・・・・・何を当たり前のことを」(…. Why are you talking about such an obvious thi-) but then he cuts himself off mid-sentence in shock. She realizes that he’s finally noticed it.
After the battle ended, while they didn’t hide their love from one another they also didn’t make any promises. She asks him in a wavering voice if he’s noticed and he apologizes gravely. He can’t bring himself to look at her as he confesses 「俺は・・・いつの間にかリリスがこうして俺の隣にいるのが当たり前だと思って、甘えてしまっていたんだな」(I.. when did I start taking your presence by my side for granted? I was too presumptuous). He adds 「不安にさせただろう。・・・すまない。悪かった」(I made you insecure didn’t I?.. I’m sorry. It’s my fault). She tells him lightly that she’s happy he understands but she’s still feeling a little lonely.
She asks him if he needs her or are his feelings already.. Kirite interrupts her hastily and loudly as he says 「そんなことはない！俺にとってリリスは何より大事だ」(That would never happen! I treasure you more than anything else). As heir to the throne of Savila he was definitely thinking about how he wanted to revive his country. But he confesses 「俺がこの国を良くしたいのは、リリス、君にこの国を好きになって欲しいからなんだ」(The reason why I want this country to be well is because, Lilith, I want you to love this country).
He adds hesitantly 「俺は君をドードーナに帰したくない」(I don’t want you to return to Dodona) and then 「だから・・・」(That’s why..!). Lilith is shocked into silence because she thought that the only reason why he was so passionate about reviving his country was because he loved it. But the truth was that he was working with all of his might for her sake because he didn’t want her to leave him. He says to her in a passionate voice 「リリスにキリテが乞う」(I humbly request you).
Kirite continues on to say with a blush 「俺は君のことが誰よりも愛しい。傍にいないことなど考えられない。だから・・・」(You’re more dear to me than anything else. I can’t think about you not being by my side. That’s why..) and his voice grows softer as he says 「この先もずっと俺の傍で、笑っていて欲しいーー」(Be by my side from here on to forever, I want you to smile–). Lilith starts to blush as well and then she quietly tells him that she will. And for the first time in a month that they were able to spend together, they promised one another a future filled with happiness.
The scene skips to the whole party being in a bar and Nico is laughing his head off at their story of how Kirite finally proposed to Lilith. Kirite glares at them and informs them that they’re laughing too much. Nico explains in a voice full of mirth that he thought the moment he left them in Savila they would become get married instantly. Soo is impressed by how Lilith managed to continue staying by Kirite’s side. Nayuta informs Kirite with a smirk that it might be better if he tried to understand a woman’s heart better.
Kirite’s only response is 「・・・ナユタには言われたくない」(.. I don’t want to hear that from you). Nate comments on how they should be glad that at least such a quiet unsociable person managed to come to a decision. Kirite crosses his arms and tells him grumpily that he didn’t need to come to a decision, because from the start he couldn’t think about anything other than Lilith. Soo tells him that if he doesn’t use his words to express his feelings than no one will understand him.
Lilith giggles at how unusual it is to see Soo win against Kirite in a battle of words. The party has gathered together to spend some time with one another after that final fight. While everyone went off to follow their own path, they also dropped by Savila to visit Kirite and Lilith. Anyway, Kirite just slowly turns red and yells out 「えーい、うるさい、うるさい！言葉にすればいいんだろう！」(Ei! Shut up, shut up! If I say it then you’ll get off my case right!?). Lilith wonders if she should stop all the teasing.
She’s not insecure about his love anymore. In fact, she doesn’t have any problems and she’s very happy. But just as she opens her mouth to tell everyone to stop teasing him, Kirite stands up forcefully. He stares at her intensely with a bright red blush and yells out 「ああ！俺はリリスのことが大好きだ！！愛しているとも！！」(YES! I REALLY LIKE LILITH!! I LOVE HER!!). The rest of the party, including Lilith, stares at him speechlessly and with wide eyes. For a second, everything is silent but then everyone starts to smile and no words are needed. THIS SCENE WAS JUST TOO SWEET (*´∀`*).
Scene skip. Lilith and Kirite are staring up at the stars and she comments on how much fun it was to meet with everyone. She wonders when the next gathering will be. Kirite agrees with a small smile and remarks on how everyone seems to be busy. And then Lilith blushes as she pleads for him not to yell out like that in the bar anymore because it made her really embarrassed. Kirite apologizes with a wince and tries to explain that he just felt full of energy in that situation.
Lilith raises an eyebrow and teasingly asks him if he’s saying that because he was so full of energy and caught up in the situation that he wasn’t saying what he truly felt? She knows that this would never be the case because he’s such a serious person. Kirite doesn’t catch her teasing voice though and his eyes widen as he hurriedly tells her 「いやっ、ちがっ・・・言ったこと自体は本心ではある」(No! That’s wrong!.. What I said was real). He starts to blush and Lilith giggles as she informs him that she already knows.
Kirite relaxes and tells her relievedly that’s he glad then. Lilith suddenly points up at the sky and tells him to look at how beautiful the moon is tonight. Kirite agrees on how beautiful the moon is shining tonight. The two of them look at each other and draw closer together until Lilith can feel the warmth from his lips. He whispers 「愛してる、リリス」(I love you, Lilith) and they kiss softly under the moonlight. NO BABIES ENDING, YAAAAAAAAAY!! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ I’M NOT TOO SURE WHAT I FEEL ABOUT KIRITE. HIS ROUTE WAS JUST FULL OF SLOW, SWEET, DEVELOPING ROMANCE AND SO NOTHING STANDS OUT IN A BAD WAY WHICH IS THE BEAUTY OF IT.
*** GOOD END ***
In Melrond, Lilith tells Kirite that she doesn’t think the gods would dish out undeserving punishment. However, this just angers Kirite and he asks her if she’s trying to say that Savila deserved to be punished and angered the gods. The pary defeats Rognar and then they head straight to Amafi to talk to Heathcliff. Lilith thinks that they can’t not putting up a fight is strange and so they’ll save the world! They go to Ingrid next to meet with Remuna and find out that Horo is behind everything.
When they go to Savila to protect it from the Sacred Nebulim and monsters, Lilith tells him that he’s part of them. Kirite nods as he realizes that he’s part of this country’s people and so he needs to help it revive as well. But she reminds him that he has another duty and Kirite agrees that he has to save the world first to give hope to Savila. Later on, when Kirite believes that he doesn’t have the right to be a king, Lilith disagrees with him and points out that he does.
They teleport to the Forested Marjune and instead of being glad to come to this forest, Lilith pessimistically remarks on how there are still things they need to overcome. Kirite reluctantly agrees but then points out that she’s always doing her best though. She agrees but the way she does things is more out of desperation. Kirite points out that it’s good for them to relax like this from time to time though and Lilith has to nod at that. She comments on how beautiful the forest is.
Kirite thanks her for opening his eyes and she just tells him that she’s happy to have helped. And so Kirite promises to protect this beautiful world. Lilith returns the sentiment. When they’re spending time together in Dodona and Kirite thanks her in an emotional voice she replies that she’s thankful to him too. If it weren’t for him then she might have given up already on saving the world. He’s surprised at her words and she never thought a village girl like her would be tasked to save the world.
She’s not sure if she deserves to be called a saint. Kirite understands what she’s saying because he knows that she’s carrying a heavy burden. Lilith confesses that she’s always feeling scared and full of doubts. Kirite reassures her by saying that it would be strange if she wasn’t scared when she suddenly has to start fighting. However, she tells him that it’s because he’s by her side that she’s able to fight. That’s why she wants to thank him. Then he asks her if she’s scared.
Rest of the scene continues as normal and the final battle starts. They defeat Horo and Kirite comments on how it’s finally over, but Lilith shakes her head because they both realize that they can still feel remnants of the love lost clinging to the world. Lilith informs him that she thinks it’ll take some time before the wounds in the world, left by the love lost, will heal. Kirite is optimistic though and tells her that as long as hope isn’t thrown away then a day will come when these wounds are healed. Kirite suggests that they head back since everyone must be worrying.
Lilith hopes they’re unharmed and Kirite smirks as he tells her that no matter what their friends decided to do, they wouldn’t end up dying. As they return and collect Nico, he sounds exhausted as he comments on how by her response its seems like they managed to safely defeat Horo. Lilith nods and talks about how with this there won’t be anyone to harm the humans or gods. Nico reads between the lines and realizes that there isn’t a relaxing day waiting for them. Kirite tells him that it will be up to the people now to reach for their futures.
Nico nods as he comments on how the road from here on will be steep. Kirite tells him to prepare himself with a smile. When they retrieve Camus he’s glad they’re safe. Lilith expresses how glad she is that he’s safe too and Camus shrugs and tells her that somehow he is. Kirite apologizes for making Camus do this and Camus tells him that he would like to say that he would do anything for Lilith, but the truth is that he doesn’t want to do something as exhausting as this again.
Nayuta comments on how they seemed to have defeated their foe. Kirite points out that he has as well. Nayuta sighs tiredly and mutters that he somehow did and with this they’ve saved the world. Kirite shakes his head though and tells him not yet. Nayuta’s eyes widen in horror as he repeats Kirite’s words. Lilith explains that the world has still been wounded and there are wounds in people’s hearts too. Nayuta realizes that they still have the job of healing people to do.
Kirite points out that it’ll be as problematic as this was. Nayuta just scoffs and points out that the gods are testing them and so they can’t refuse this. Kirite chuckles and then they go to find Nate. Lilith calls out in relief that he seems to be unharmed and Nate nods before guessing that from her response the others are unharmed too. Kirite tells him that it was thanks to their efforts that he and Lilith was able to defeat Horo. Lilith tells him that with this they’ve managed to save the world.
Nate smiles as he realizes that he’s done his part. They return to the airship and Soo calls out that they’re all so slow and complains as to why he’s the last, but then he realizes that they had to retrieve everyone in order. Lilith apologizes and then asks him if he was injured anywhere. Soo pouts and tells her that if she says it like that then he can’t get angry. Kirite tells him that he’s as simple as always. Soo tells him proudly that it’s good for a man to be simple, because he thinks Kirite is too stubborn.
But somehow because he was so stubborn, Horo managed to be defeated. Soo thanks him seriously. Kirite tells him that he didn’t do it alone though, but with the help of everyone else. Soo grins and agrees with him. Lilith comments on how this is the end, but at the same time it’s the beginning. The wounded world needs to start repairing itself. Kirite is sure that the road will be long, but if he doesn’t support Savila then it’ll never be revived. Camus giggles and then tells everyone that they should move out. And so Nico lands the airship near Dinus so the party can do their victory walk.
Everything else is pretty much the same in the good end of Nate’s route with the theme of how wounded the world is and how everything will take time to heal. However, this time Nate is traveling with Nico around the world to look at the wounds left over and to see what they saved. She thinks that it would be nice to see him again. She’s also certain that Nico is traveling around with Nate to find interesting things. She looks forward to talking to him about the things he’s found.
Both Kirite and Lilith are in Savila where the wounds of Rognar are still deep and blackening the earth. She’s decided to lend a hand in the revival project until things calm down and then she’ll return to Dodona. And then one day she hears a voice in the throne room and so she heads there. She hears Kirite addressing his father’s empty throne and talking about how he defeated Savila’s enemy and avenged them. Savila’s people are also slowly returning to this country too.
He knows the road to restoration is far away but they’ll reach it someday. He requests his father to watch over the country and its people until that day arrives. She doesn’t want to intrude and so she remains standing outside, but Kirite notices a presence and asks loudly if someone is there. She enters the room and apologizes for intruding. Kirite’s features soften as he tells her that she’s not intruding and then he asks if something happened.
She shakes her head and tells him that she just heard a voice here and so she came to investigate. Then her eyes are drawn to the throne and she asks him if he’s going to repair it. Kirite nods but tells her that he’ll only do it after Savila is restored. If he put the state of the palace and the royal bloodline first before his people then his country would end. That’s why he thinks it would be best to leave the throne for last. Lilith smiles and points out that it’s just like him to think that way.
And then she asks if he’s decided to become their king, but he confesses that he hasn’t thought about it yet. She tells him with wide eyes that everyone wants him to be their king though. He replies that it seems that way and she asks him if he doesn’t want to be the king. Kirite informs her that he understands that not just anyone can be the king and he knows who they think is the most appropriate to be their king. He wants to be able to help the villagers directly more than he wants to delegate orders as a king.
But then when he thinks about it some more he starts to realize that there’s no one else suitable for being the king other than him. Lilith giggles at that and points out that if he’s already thinking like that then in the end he’s the most suitable and the best person to be their king. He asks if she really thinks so and then she notices his shoulders slump. Lilith realizes that he still doesn’t seem to have the desire to be their king. But being a king means bearing a lot of responsibility and so it’s not an easy decision to make.
Lilith changes the subject and comments on how if he became the king then they wouldn’t be able to meet and talk like this. Even though they’re good friends, she’s sure they’ll still have to go through customs and schedules. And she thinks it’ll be difficult to say his name without any honorifics if he becomes their king. She starts to say his name multiple times but she adds different titles to it, like King Kirite and Lord Kirite. He frowns at her and tells her to stop it.
Then he tells her 「万が一、本当に俺がこの国の玉座につくことになっても・・・。俺は君の前ではただのキリテだ」(If by chance, I was to ascend the throne and become this country’s king.. I’ll still just be Kirite to you). He doesn’t want her to worry about addressing him and he wants to continue to be able to meet her like this. Lilith giggles which makes him ask her in surprise if he said something strange. She shakes her head but points out that with the way he said his words it sounds like he already decided to become their king.
Kirite’s brows furrow and he averts his eyes for a second before he suddenly comes to a decision and tells her that he wants her to come with him for a second. She asks him if he wants her to come with him right now and he nods firmly. Kirite takes her hand and then starts to walk to some place. He ends up taking her to Savila’s mountain and as they look down at Savila she realizes that the whole place is starting to grow grass. He excitedly tells her his plans for the future which involve creating a dojo for future samurai.
Lilith giggles and tells him that he sounds like a little boy when he talks about his dream like that. Kirite informs her that nothing is here yet but one day his country will be restored to its affluent state. Lilith nods and tells him that she’ll support and cheer him on. Kirite loses his enthusiasm and asks her shyly 「・・・本当に、か？」(.. Really?). She looks at him in confusion and he confesses 「その・・・。勝手な願いだということは分かっている」(Um.. I know it must sound like a selfish wish).
He admits 「だが俺は・・・復興するサヴィラを、君にも見ていて欲しいと思うんだ」(But I.. I want you to continue to watch the revival of Savila). Her jaw drops in shock at his words and for a second she forgets to breathe. She actually had a reason for trying to find Kirite today. She was going to inform him that she was thinking about heading home to Dodona. The restoration of Savila has begun and she’s not needed anymore because there’s nothing for her to do. At least that’s what she thought.
At her continued silence Kirite averts his eyes and asks in a painful voice 「・・・駄目か？」(.. You can’t?). Lilith smiles and reassures him that she can and she understands. She’ll stay a while longer in Savila. He still refuses to look at her as he says 「・・・そうか。ではそのしばらくのうちに・・・」(.. I see. Then in that period of time..). And then he tells her 「リリスがドードーナに帰りたくならないようにしなくてはいけないわけだな」(I will have to make it so that you won’t want to return to Dodona). Lilith simply gapes at him again in silence.
Kirite finally turns to look at her as he murmurs 「いや、こんな言い方ではダメだな」(No, I shouldn’t say it like that). He crosses his arm and a blush rises on his cheeks as he confesses 「俺は、リリスが好きなんだ。傍にいてほしい」(I.. love you. I’d like you to be by my side). She starts to blush herself as she hears his straightforward confession. She says his name questioningly and with a stutter, but he just repeats himself 「・・・俺の傍にいてくれ、リリス」(.. Please stay by my side, Lilith).
He gently wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her closer to him. With his other hand he touches her cheek. It’s a kind and caring gesture. He starts to blush again as he asks her softly 「・・・いてくれないか」(.. Will you not stay?). She can only nod quietly. She doesn’t know if he really intends on being the king of Savila and it seems like there are still problems for them to overcome, but even still, she is certain that she’s happy in this moment.
AT THIS RATE I’M JUST GOING TO BE LIKE “（╯°Д°）╯︵ ┻━┻ FUCK MARRIAGE” AND SUPPORT ALL OF THE GOOD ENDINGS IN WHICH THEY’RE NOT JUST CRAZY IN LOVE. I THINK I PREFER THE GOOD ENDING OVER THE BEST ONE AGAIN. THEY SEEM PRETTY SIMILAR EXCEPT KIRITE DECIDES TO ACT FIRST INSTEAD OF REALIZING HE’S TAKING HER FOR GRANTED. AND NO ONE CAN RESIST SAKURAI WHISPERING IN THEIR EAR. NO ONE.
