Light Beyond ~ Prologue ~

Posted on Updated on

The road upon which humans walk has always been short-lived.

No matter the amount of splendor amassed by the rich.
No matter the depth of envy incited by the beautiful.
No matter the degree of faith collected by a servant of God.

As long as they were human, death visited them all the same.

Thus, what befell one girl that day, was nothing removed from the norm.
She simply found herself at her inevitable destination, no more, no less.
But the masses would lament. For a girl so young, death was too sudden and cruel.

“But you won’t stop moving forward, will you. As long as the flickering light beyond the road’s end is within sight.”

Wow, the LN has some gorgeous writing. Your translations flow beautifully as well. I hope I’ll be able to read like you someday ^^

For sure! It’s what drew me into her stories in the first place n_n she also has short stories and another series if you’re interested in more of her works.

Aw, thank you for saying that about my translations >< imo I still have lots to improve on in terms of editing for the flow, but that'll come through practice.

I don't know if you have any translation projects going on, or game you're playing in Japanese, but there's no rush :D learn at your own pace and I'm sure you're improving by the day!

EDIT: I’m still thinking about the LNs I’d recommend, haha, but I’ll respond to that comment soon!

Learned of the site from Kukkiriri. Thanks for working on this LN~
You should get your site added on Novelupdates. I’m sure quite a few readers would come to read if you did.

You’re welcome! Oh, I’ll have to go and do that then! Thanks for the suggestion and for commenting n_n.

(b^_^)b Hopefully it is a simple process. I’ve never tried adding anyone myself.

Oh, shiiittt!!! YOU’RE GOING TO TRANSLATE THE LN?! THANK YOU!!! ILOVEYOU!!! *ahem* Sorry for the all-caps. 8D *fangirls* I had half a mind to translate the LN eventually if no one ever worked on it. Now I never have to. You’re so awesome. (*´艸`*)

NO REALLY I SHOULD BE THANKING YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS BOOK (〃^▽^〃). It was thanks to your teaser translations that made me look into this. Did you end up reading this entire story after the first few translations you did? And also, have you checked out her other story (it’s pretty cute imo though same fantasy-like setting).

Heehee, you’re always welcome to help translate since this is 4 books long– //bricked.

Sorry for the late response, and thanks for inviting me to translate with you! 8D My Japanese is actually not that great, lol, and I’m very slow with translations. I started translating because I wanted to practice. Tbh I’d only drag you down because these days, my motivation is shot, and I can barely bring myself to finish anything I start. It’s rather frustrating how little inspires me these days.

Also, would you like me to announce that you’ve decided to translate from the LN on my blog? :D? I’ve been meaning to ask, but the thing is, once others become aware of your translations, they may very well be stolen by aggregate sites. It’s very upsetting to most of the translators who haven’t really had experience with it, and I don’t know how you feel about that.

OH. You already added yourself to Novel Updates. >Db OK, I’ll need to make an announcement one of these days. Maybe when I have something to offer to the readers, so that there’s some sort of traffic. >.>

Aw, I really like your translations. I feel like you have a natural talent in making the English version sound so smooth /o\. Feel free to ping me whenever you’re feeling interested again then! Ooh, I started translating things to practice Japanese too! I’ll bet that’s a common thing among the English community that does translations, haha.

Oh, thank you, and take your time with it! I’ve done some game translations and had those end up floating around wiki sites and things so I’ve gotten pretty blase about seeing my translations floating around. I did notice that there seemed to be tons of aggregate sites that would just steal LN translations though :/ that sucks.

No wonder WP never notified me of any replies from you. It’s because you had to reply to your own comment since it only goes two? threads deep. Ahh! And thanks for saying you like my trans. :’D It’s always so nice to hear that from other people who translate, because you understand the pains that goes with it. Tbh, when I was a kid I had this dream of writing novels for a living one day. It turns out I’m not really good at writing stories. LOL. So while translating was for practice purposes, it was also a way for me to be creative without actually having to write a story myself. 8D

As for the aggregates, eh. Yeah. It sucks, but it’s not a new idea, others making a profit off of your work. I’ve had my own experiences elsewhere, so I’m quite resigned to it myself. Meh. =/

Oops, sorry about that! I could probably do 4 nests in but things start to look squished :’D I didn’t realize it messed with the “notify me of new comments” button though, oh no.

I get what you mean about being creative through translating though, which is why I don’t believe you when you say you’re not a good writer, haha!! I’ve always felt that translations are bound pretty tightly to being able to write creatively (both of them influencing each other and experiences in one adding to the other) :’D.
