Chapter 1: The Truth Hidden in Blood–
As soon as she arrived at the castle she was thrown into a prison without a clue as to what to do.
In order to return to her old world, she slipped out of the prison with Imari’s help, and searched for clues on “Himemiko” but…
[IMARI]: “We got out of the prison safely! I’ll show you to the castle’s exit like this! Please follow me!”
[IMARI]: “Ah! By the way, we’re passing in front of the room where the commanders are right now.”
.[IMARI]: “Quiet your steps and let’s pass through without them noticing.”
[YUZUKI]: “…… Got it.”
We quietly passed in front of the room so as not to make noise.
…… But I heard talking voices from the room.
[KOJUUROU]: “Masamune. What are you going to do now with that woman?”
[MASAMUNE]: “If she’s a subordinate of the enemy, I’ll interrogate her and make her spit out information.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “Mmmm, I didn’t see her as an enemy ninja though.”
[MASAMUNE]: “If there’s no information then she’ll be killed.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “I’m…… a little reluctant about that.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “We only talked a bit, but I don’t think she’s a bad person.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “And, besides, somehow…… when you’re close you feel relaxed.”
[KOJUUROU]: “…… Certainly. She has a strange atmosphere, hm.”
[MASAMUNE]: “What about that. The important thing is whether she’s useful to us or not. If she’s not useful, then we can only eliminate her.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “Well, that might be true buuuut……”
[YUZUKI]: (In the end…… if I don’t run away now I’ll definitely be killed……)
[IMARI]: “Please don’t worry.”
[IMARI]: “I might not be that dependable but I’ll definitely let you run away.”
[YUZUKI]: “…… Thank you, Imari-kun.”
[IMARI]: “Ehehe…… Now, let’s go while they don’t notice us.”
[MASAMUNE]: “…… Our power is still fragile.”
[MASAMUNE]: “To overcome the other armies, we need to use everything we can……”
[IMARI]: “Haa, haa…… we’ve ran quite a bit…… Are you okay?”
[YUZUKI]: “Yes, I’m fine……”
[IMARI]: “Just a little more and we’ll be at the back entrance. If we get out over there, there’ll be nothing to worry about anymo–“
[MASAMUNE]: “–Did you think you could escape?”
[MASAMUNE]: “I came because I felt a strange presence…… It’s truly unexpected to see that you slipped out of prison.”
[YUZUKI]: “M-Masamune… -san……”
Masamune-san, who stood in our way, placed his hand on the sword at his waist so that he could draw it out at any time.
[IMARI]: “L-Let’s run!”
Although I tried to turn back hastily–
[MASAMUNE]: “As if I’d let you!”
I was grasped tightly by Masamune-san’s hand that came from behind me and, in the blink of an eye, was caught.
And, what’s more, his blade was placed against my neck; it became impossible to move.
[MASAMUNE]: “Foolish girl, hastening your own death.”
[YUZUKI]: “P-Please let me go……!”
[MASAMUNE]: “Like hell. You exited the prison without permission. I’ll have you reap the consequences.”
The sword pressed against my neck bit into my skin.
[YUZUKI]: (It’s no use…! I’m going to die…!?)
At a loss for what to do, I closed my eyes tightly…… At that moment.
[IMARI]: “PLEASE WAIT!”
[IMARI]: “If you kill that lady, you’ll regret it!”
[MASAMUNE]: “What do you mean?”
[IMARI]: “That lady is…… connected to Himemiko-sama! She might be a clue to finding Himemiko-sama!”
[IMARI]: “That’s right! You warlords are searching for Himemiko-sama, who disappeared, right!?”
[IMARI]: “If you kill that lady, you’ll lose a precious clue!”
[MASAMUNE]: “Why do you know such a thing?”
[IMARI]: “That’s…… because I’m Himemiko-sama’s close aide! And there’s no mistake that I heard about that lady over there from Himemiko-sama directly!”
[IMARI]: “That’s why, please spare her life at least……!”
[MASAMUNE]: “A clue to Himemiko…… huh. In that case, you seem to have value to be used. If the words of that beast over there is the truth though.”
[MASAMUNE]: “Very well. I will overlook this just this once.”
Masamune-san separated himself from me and returned his sword into its sheathe.
[YUZUKI]: (He’s overlooking this……? Thank god, I’m saved……)
[SOLDIER]: “Masamune-sama, as you ordered preparations for the horses have been arranged.”
[MASAMUNE]: “Good, gather the soldiers. We’re departing for the front.”
[MASAMUNE]: “And return this woman to prison. Don’t forget to tie up that beast over there too.”
[IMARI]: “I’m sorry…… I couldn’t get you out……”
Having been tied up, Imari-kun was despondent.
[YUZUKI]: “…… No, thank you for saving my life.”
[IMARI]: “Uuuwa *crying*……!”
Together with Imari-kun, whose eyes watered at my words, I was returned to the prison again–
(T/N: The beginning of Date cracks me up after you get to know them because, just a heads up, this prison bit lasts for a while… LOL.)
