Chapter 7: One Should Persist with One’s Way–
The next clue that leads to Himemiko seems to be in the Uesugi territory.
Masamune advances his army towards the Uesugi territory without delay, but a battle has started between the Uesugi Army and Takeda Army in front of their eyes!?
[SHIGEZANE]: “For a moment I wondered what would happen, but it looks like we got to Uesugi territory before the sun set.”
[KOJUUROU]: “Aa. As soon as we arrive in their lands, let’s start searching for Himemiko.”
[IMARI]: “Yeah! We’ll finally get to Himemiko-sama with this… Aah, I want to meet her soon!”
.[YUZUKI]: “Imari-kun, you’ve been saerching for Himemiko-sama all this time, huh.”
[YUZUKI]: “Don’t worry, we have the sacred treasure so I’m sure we can find her right away.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “Thanks to the alliance we managed to enter Uesugi territory too, which I thought would be the hardest.”
[KOJUUROU]: “As a result, everything is proceeding in a good direction. I hope nothing happens…”
Shortly after Kojuurou-san murmured those words, the situation took a sudden turn.
[MASAMUNE]: “Everyone, stop your horses.”
At the same time with Masamune-san’s voice, everyone pulled at their reins and stopped their horses.
I unconsciously held my breath at the tension the three released.
[YUZUKI]: (Could it be an enemy attack?)
The moment I thought this, a single arrow passed by right beside me.
[SHIGEZANE]: “Uwah, that was dangerous!”
[KOJUUROU]: “So it is enemies. Protect her, Shigezane!”
[SHIGEZANE]: “You don’t gotta tell me that!”
Many arrows flew towards us while the two talked back and forth like that.
[SHIGEZANE]: “Listen, don’t let go of me!”
When I answered and adjusted my hold on Imari-kun, Masamune-san muttered something.
[MASAMUNE]: “Archers, hm.”
[KOJUUROU]: “Yes. Those are Uesugi’s troops.”
[SHIGEZANE]: “Eh, what does that mean. Isn’t Uesugi allied with us!”
[KOJUUROU]: “Hmm… I don’t know whether this is a betrayal by Uesugi, but…”
[KOJUUROU]: “What shall we do, Masamune?”
Masamune-san answered Kojuurou-san’s question without hesitation.
[MASAMUNE]: “There’s no how or what. We’ll force our way through.”
In contrast to my surprise, Shigezane-san and Kojuurou-san nodded as if in agreement.
[KOJUUROU]: “Ah, that would be the best, huh.”
[YUZUKI]: “But isn’t it too dangerous…?”
[SHIGEZANE]: “It’ll be okay! If we know the direction those arrows are flying from, it’s simple to avoid them!”
[MASAMUNE]: “That’s how it is. We’ll slip through these arrows, go to those guys, and cut them down.”
[SHIGEZANE + KOJUUROU]: “Acknowledged!”
[YUZUKI]: (Through these arrows…)
[YUZUKI]: (But if it’s to find Himemiko-sama, then…)
I have to resolve myself.
[YUZUKI]: “… Got it!”
Masamune-san grinned when I said that and pointed to the direction of where the archers were.
[MASAMUNE]: “Then let’s go!”
[SHIGEZANE]: “Alriiight, hold on tightly so that you guys don’t bite your tongue!”
The horses we rode started galloping all at once.
On top of the intensely swaying horse, I frantically clung to Shigezane-san to keep from falling.
As I did that, Masamune-san and Kojuurou-san lined up beside us so that the horse Shigezane-san and I were riding was between them–
[MASAMUNE]: “Hmph, is this all?”
[YUZUKI]: (Wow, Masamune-san and Kojuurou-san are brushing away all the arrows…)
Shigezane-san didn’t draw his blade and did nothing but stare at the front and make his horse run.
[YUZUKI]: (This can only be done if everyone believed in each other a lot… these three are amazing…!)
Without saying anything, everyone supported each other. I felt like I could see the bond between the three of them.
[SHIGEZANE]: “Alrighty, we got through the arrows already!”
[YUZUKI]: “Wha, already!?”
[IMARI]: “W-We’ve arrived so quickly…”
However, the Uesugi Army saw us approaching and put away their bows before drawing their swords out all at once.
[SHIGEZANE]: “As I thought, they’ve changed their weapons.”
[KOJUUROU]: “But if they wish to match swords, we have the upper hand!”
[MASAMUNE]: “Cut down everyone who resists! –Let’s go!”
Along with Masamune-san’s voice, the Uesugi Army brought up their weapons, and then at that moment–
[???]: “Everyone, lower your weapons.”
The tension, to the point of being difficult to breathe, was broken by an elegant voice that did not suit this place.
[MASAMUNE]: “…… ch!”
Reacting to the voice the Uesugi Army lowered their swords and, at the same time, Masamune-san and the others also stopped moving.
Drawn by Masamune-san, when I looked towards there–
A commander stood there quietly, wearing a calm smile.
