Chapter 9: Complicated Expectations
A mysterious army that suddenly appeared; however, with the united front of both armies, they were succesfully repelled.
A banquet was held that night, but everyone seems to have their own feelings and thoughts…
Katsuie-san, accepting Ranmaru-kun’s words, readily said that he would stop contact with Toshiie-san.
[YUZUKI]: (It’s a bit surprising to conclude everything so quickly… Katsuie-san and Toshiie-san are like brothers too…)
[YUZUKI]: “Katsuie-san, are you fine with that…?”
.[KATSUIE]: “Yeah. It’s not something to do if it’ll make my comrades worry.”
[RANMARU]: “… I can’t believe it. You might be planning to continue it secretly.”
[KATSUIE]: “… Hey, Ranmaru. Nobunaga-sama’s decision is the most important thing to me too.”
[KATSUIE]: “My enemies are the guys Nobunaga-sama calls enemies, and I think that only the people in Oda are my true comrades.”
[KATSUIE]: “But isn’t it lonely for the world to just be full of enemies and comrades?”
[KATSUIE]: “Yeah. I thought this while talking to Toshiie but, in the end, everyone has their own situation.”
[KATSUIE]: “Like the way we believe in Nobunaga-sama, Toshiie and the others believe in Hideyoshi.”
[KATSUIE]: “I’m not happy with that in and of itself but… I don’t think badly of Toshiie who made that decision.”
[KATSUIE]: “For you, you’re hurt by their betrayal because you thought of them as comrades, right?”
[KATSUIE]: “In the future, we’re going to meet lots of people. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to understand them all…”
[KATSUIE]: “We’re gonna meet lots of people, those who are annoying, and those you wanna punch too.”
[KATSUIE]: “But, well, if you’re suspicious of all of them and hate all of them, there’s gonna be no end.”
[KATSUIE]: “That’s why I also believe there are good guys in our enemies.”
[KATSUIE]: “Besides… Nobunaga-sama is definitely going to unite Shinga sooner or later.”
[KATSUIE]: “At that time, isn’t it going to be impossible to believe only in those who were part of Oda from the beginning?”
[KATSUIE]: “… Or something, haha… that was a little embarrassing, huh.”
[YUZUKI]: “Not at all. I… thought that was a wonderful thought.”
[RANMARU]: “I understand Katsuie-san’s thoughts… but I cannot make a clean divide like that so easily.”
[KATSUIE]: “… Well, isn’t that enough for now?”
[RANMARU]: “… I want to think alone a little.”
Ranmaru-kun said only that before taking his leave from us.
[YUZUKI]: “Katsuie-san… um, thank you.”
[KATSUIE]: “Hm? Why’re you thanking me? I didn’t do anything particularly special.”
[YUZUKI]: “That’s not true.”
[YUZUKI]: “Even though we doubted you, Katsuie-san, you didn’t get angry and told us your thoughts.”
[KATSUIE]: “Well… that’s because I’m at fault for doing something suspicious. I don’t have the right to be angry.”
[YUZUKI]: “Still, please let me say my thanks. And… please let me apologize for doubting you even a little.”
When I said that and bowed my head, Katsuie-san scratched the back of his head as if he was embarrassed and then continued speaking.
[KATSUIE]: “Well, I’m bad at using my head. I just don’t like to think about difficult things like Ranmaru and the others.”
[KATSUIE]: “Above all… I also believe in Nobunaga-sama the same as Ranmaru.”
[KATSUIE]: “Yeah. In the future, even if we meet tons of super strong guys, no one’s going to be more amazing than Nobunaga-sama.”
[KATSUIE]: “When you think that, don’t you feel sorry for whatever enemy comes?”
[YUZUKI]: (That’s certainly true…)
At any rate, the case of doubt came to an end, but as I relaxed and felt relieved Mitsuhide-san came over in a panic.
[MITSUHIDE]: “Katsuie! So you were here. I’m glad.”
[KATSUIE]: “Hm…? What’s wrong?”
[MITSUHIDE]: “Nobunaga-sama has decided upon the destination of our next expedition.”
Mitsuhide-san’s expression was stiff as he said that and I felt that the contents of the expedition were not a calm matter.
[YUZUKI]: “Could it be that the destination is a dangerous place?”
[MITSUHIDE]: “Yes. It is close to the former capital… a land dominated by yakuma.”
