Chapter 1: Even a Chance Meeting is Due to Fate
In a hurry, everyone inside the castle were preparing for the next battle.
In a world where battles were around the corner, she started to look for something she could be even a little help with, but…
For some reason, having drunk my blood, Shingen-san’s appearance changed and he swung his sword vividly, completely changed from the time he was in pain.
[UESUGI ARMY SOLDIER]: “Guagh…”
[UESUGI ARMY SOLDIER]: “No way…”
[YUZUKI]: “Shingen-san, are you okay?”
Shingen-san’s appearance when was completely exhausted and spitting out blood crossed my mind and I inadvertently became worried and asked him this.
[SHINGEN]: “Yeah, no problem! Rather, I’m overflowing with power. This the first time since I was born.”
[SHINGEN]: “It could be that your blood might have some sort of strange power in there.”
[YUZUKI]: (Strange power…?)
[UESUGI ARMY SOLDIER]: “GOT YOU!”
[SHINGEN]: “Too slow. It’s over with this!”
[SHINGEN]: “Haa… haa…”
[YUZUKI]: (Ah… Shingen-san’s appearance went back to normal!)
[SHINGEN]: “…… Phew, somehow we managed to cut our way through with this…”
[YUZUKI]: “Um, Shingen-san… Are you really okay?”
[SHINGEN]: “Yeah, I’m fine. Nothing’s wrong, so… don’t look so worried.”
[MASAKAGE]: “Shingen-sama, you’re not hurt!”
[SHINGEN]: “Yeah, thanks to this girl’s blood.”
[MASATOYO]: “I’m glad… Thank you truly.”
[YUZUKI]: “Er, um, I didn’t do anything…”
[SHINGEN]: “What are you saying. If you weren’t here, I couldn’t have cut my way through. Thanks, seriously.”
[YUZUKI]: “No, I’m glad to be of help.”
[SHINGEN]: “So, what happened to the Uesugi Army.”
[MASAKAGE]: “They’ve retreated what with Masanobu and Nobuharu-san’s efforts!”
[MASAKAGE]: “Both of them will meet us at the castle.”
[SHINGEN]: “I see… we managed to survive, huh.”
[SHINGEN]: “Sorry, everyone. I’ve given you all trouble because I’m like this.”
[MASAKAGE]: “What are you saying! I’ve never once thought you were trouble.”
[MASATOYO]: “Yes, that’s right. Nothing is more important than if you’re unharmed, Shingen-sama.”
[SHINGEN]: “Heh… I’m glad you guys are my vassals. I’m blessed with good friends.”
[SHINGEN]: “… Now then, why don’t we head back to the castle and join up with Masanobu and Nobuharu-san.”
[MASAKAGE + MASATOYO]: “Yes, sir!”
[YUZUKI]: (Returning to the castle, huh…)
[SHINGEN]: “Hm?… What’s the matter? You have a serious look. We’re going home to the castle, you know?”
[YUZUKI]: “… Um. I’ve been imposing on everyone’s kindness up to now, but… is it alright for me to stay together with everyone still?”
[SHINGEN]: “… What. I was wondering what you were thinking, but it was just that. Something like that is obviously alright, isn’t it?”
I was happy to get the words I wanted but, on the other hand, the hesitation of whether or not it was okay for me to presume on their kindess stopped my feet.
[YUZUKI]: “Erm… but even if you put me in the castle I don’t have anything… and I can’t even help out on the battlefield…”
[SHINGEN]: “You don’t have to worry about things like that. Plus, I owe you one for taking your blood.”
[SHINGEN]: “In the first place, didn’t I say this when we first met? How could I leave a woman alone and go home.”
I felt something hot come up within me at his kind smile that seemed to softly melt my reserve and hesitation.
[SHINGEN]: “Now then, why don’t we head home together.”
[YUZUKI]: “… Y-Yes!”
I was so happy my reply was delayed a moment but I gave a huge nod and returned home to the castle together with Shingen-san.
