Chapter 2: Good Medicine Tastes Bitter

Everyone returned home to the castle… for a brief moment. Shingen immediately went out to exterminate monsters called “yakuma”.

When she was worried about his body…

Chapter 2.2

[YUZUKI]: (Anyway, getting out of the castle is good and all but how do I get to the western road that Shingen-san and the others talked about…?)

[YUZUKI]: (Ah! Just now!)

[YUZUKI]: “Imari-kun! Wait!”

.[IMARI]: “Wah!”

[YUZUKI]: “It really is you, Imari-kun. Can we talk?”

[IMARI]: “Of course. Ah… but there’s people around so please come this way.”

[IMARI]: “We should be okay here… I’m sorry, I’m the one who should be dropping by to see you.”

[YUZUKI]: “No, don’t worry about that. That’s just hard you’ve been working to gather information on Himemiko-sama, right?”

[IMARI]: “Waah, those words are so nice! I don’t have any good information yet, but I’ll keep working hard without giving up!”

[YUZUKI]: “Mm… Ah, that’s right. Do you know the western road? I’m in a rush to go there…”

[IMARI]: “The western road, huh. If you’d like, I’ll go with you there!”

[YUZUKI]: “Really? Thank you!”

[IMARI]: “Right now, I can only do this much. C’mon, let’s go. It’s this way!”

[YUZUKI]: (Shingen-san, I’m bringing the pills to you soon. Please stay safe.)

[IMARI]: “This is what they call the western road.”

[YUZUKI]: “Thank you, Imari-kun!”

[IMARI]: “No problem! I’m happy to be useful. Ah, but there’s rumors that yakuma have appeared here frequently lately–“

[YAKUMA]: “Grrrrgrgr…”

[IMARI]: “WAWAWA! Right after I said that! P-Please get away! That’s a yakuma!”

[YUZUKI]: “T-This!?”

A monster that I’d never seen before slowly closed its distance to us, all the while growling.

[YUZUKI]: “W-We need to run…!”

[IMARI]: “W-Wait! I-I-I-I-I’ll be bait!”

[YUZUKI]: “Wha!?”

[IMARI]: “H-Hey, yakuma! I’m much more tastier than a human~. Look, I have fat–“

[YAKUMA]: “GRAAAAUGH!!”

[IMARI]: “HIEEEEEE!!”

[YUZUKI]: “I-Imari-kun!”

[IMARI]: “Now’s your chance to get to safe place– uwaah! AH, P-PLEASE DON’T EAT MEEEE!”

[YUZUKI]: (Imari-kun, he’s being that reckless…! What do I do. At this rate, he might get eaten…!)

[YUZUKI]: “Wha… no way! There’s still one here–“

[YAKUMA]: “Guuuargh…!”

[YUZUKI]: “AHHHHHH…!!”

[???]: “HAAGH!”

[YUZUKI]: (H-Huh…?)

When I nervously opened my eyes, I unconsciously shouted at the sight of the back of the person who I wanted to see.

[YUZUKI]: “Shingen-san!”

[SHINGEN]: “Phew… I’m glad I made it.”

Shingen-san exhaled loudly and deeply before he turned to look at me with a stern expression.

[SHINGEN]: “Geez… when I just happened to be chasing a runaway yakuma… That was dangerous. You realize that, right?”

[YUZUKI]: “Ah… yes…”

[SHINGEN]: “Moreover, you ran after me up to here. A guy who collapsed once shouldn’t be saying this but… you can’t believe in me that much?”

[YUZUKI]: “Y-You’re wrong! It’s not that, I wanted to deliver this.”

It was inevitable that he’d be angry… but, before that, I held out the pouch with the precious pills inside to Shingen-san.

[SHINGEN]: “Gugh. That’s… there’s no need to guess, it’s pills, huh…”

[YUZUKI]: “Yes. I was entrusted with them by Masatoyo-san. Here you go.”

[SHINGEN]: “R-Right…”

[YUZUKI]: (Huh? I thought he was going to get angry this time…)

Shingen-san looked at the pills that were handed over with a disgusted face and sighed.

[SHINGEN]: “Haa… you brought it, huh. Meaning I have to take them, don’t I…”

[YUZUKI]: “Of course, because it’s medicine. You have to take them for your body… Masatoyo-san was worried, you know?”

[SHINGEN]: “I thought so… Haa.”

[YUZUKI]: “… Shingen, could it be that you hate medicine?”

[SHINGEN]: “No… uhh, not particularly? Only, it’s just… I hate bitter things a little… but really only just a little bit, okay?”

[YUZUKI]: (… He looks like he can’t handle bitter things at all though.)

[YUZUKI]: “A person like you, Shingen-san, has things they dislike too, huh.”

[SHINGEN]: “Kinda… but don’t tell that to anyone, alright? It concerns a general’s reputation.”

[SHINGEN]: “Roughly speaking, if it were to be found out that I was bad with bitter things when I’m competing with Kenshin and Oda Nobunaga… the morale of the solders would go down…”

[YUZUKI]: “Really? I feel like everyone wouldn’t mind though…”

[SHINGEN]: “No, as a man there are some things you want to show off about.”

[SHINGEN]: “And, to that end, I gotta take this here like a man. Haa… and I thought I wouldn’t have to take them since I felt good thanks to your blood…”

[YUZUKI]: “Um… your health might suddenly turn for the worse again, so I think it’s better for you to take them.”

[SHINGEN]: “Yeah, there’s no doubt… Alright… H-Here we go!”

Shingen-san took out a single pill and then threw it into his mouth, giving it his all.

[SHINGEN]: “… Ngh! Geh, ugh!”

[YUZUKI]: “Ah! A-Are you okay!? Umm, where’s water…!”

[SHINGEN]: “Nah, I’m okay. Still… blegh. They say good medicine tastes bitter but this one’s going too far…”

[YUZUKI]: “I’m kind of sorry…”

[SHINGEN]: “Haha! Why are you apologizing. Thanks to the blood you had me drink and this pill, I’m a hundred times healthier, look.”

Saying that, Shingen-san clenched his fist and showed me that with a smile.

[YUZUKI]: (I was trying to care for him but, before I knew it, I’m the one being cared for, huh.)

[YUZUKI]: “Ahaha, I’m glad.”

[SHINGEN]: “Aa. Now then… we should head back soon. Seeing that yakuma haven’t run over here, it looks like Masakage and Nobuharu-san have cleaned the rest up.”

[SHINGEN]: “Now that you’re here, we might as well return together–“

[YUZUKI]: (This sound… something’s coming from those bushes!)

[SHINGEN]: “Oh, woah… One, two, three… wow, there’s easily ten of them. Where’d this many get left from?”

[YUZUKI]: “N-Now’s not the time to ask that! Wait… you won’t say you’re going to fight them, right?”

[SHINGEN]: “Hm? Well, it’s nice to have a challenge, isn’t it?”

[YUZUKI]: “But if you push yourself that hard…!”

[SHINGEN]: “I’m joking. We’re going to run away at full speed! So, sorry about this but– up we go.”

[YUZUKI]: “Huh… ah, wah!!”

[SHINGEN]: “Neck or shoulders, I don’t care, but hold on tightly!”

Shingen-san easily lifted me up and, turning his back to the yakuma, he ran like the wind.

Okay, this kinda out of the topic, but… I guess, I’ll say in here in the long short…

… In my place, I’ve already open Mouri’s ch 5, and… Idk why but the story is like… Nevermind (if you guys want to know, please open the story yourself. I’m not gonna spoil it). Must appreciate the developers in the end…

Back to the topic… Ahahaha, yeah that’s kinda true that everyone don’t want to show their weakness or something like that in front of the people ^^’a
And, Shingen, now I want to know how kind you lifted up Yuzuki lololololol

As always, thank you for your hard works~! ^^
(And sorry if my comment become spoiler for some people *make a dogeza pose*)

      I haven’t gotten around to Mouri’s chapter 5 yet so now I’m curious, haha. Is that a good pause or a hesitant pause there |D;;

I honestly imagine him scooping her up with one arm underneath her knees LOL have you seen his official art whenever he’s standing beside any of the other guys? He’s like a head taller than Kenshin who is probably already 6 feet or something. Shingen looks CRAZY tall and strong.

No worries you didn’t say any spoilers! Just piqued everyone’s curiosity I think, haha. And thank you for commenting!

Ah… Well like I said up there, I won’t tell any spoilers since I must appreciate everyone in here that not all of them like to be spoiled, so I only give curiosity (well that’s one of my principle since first time I commented in here)… *make another dogeza pose*

Back to the topic. Yeah, it’s like Shingen’s the tallest one in this game, the Nobunaga, and maybe others have same height… But beside that, when I read older comments, Morikawa also voices Namikaze Minato and Kimimaro from Naruto (I surprised at first), Katakura Kojuurou from Sengoku Basara, and many more… Such a amazing one… ‘v’)b

[YUZUKI]: (Huh? I thought he was going to get angry this time…)

wait yuzuki until you reach chapter 6 in shingens route

[SHINGEN]: when I’m competing with Kenshin and Oda Nobunaga…

i can understand his insecurities with kenshin (man with principles) and oda being a demon warlord. i think oda in both gamewise and historically is the biggest threat.

[YUZUKI]: “Really? I feel like everyone wouldn’t mind though…”

[SHINGEN]: “No, as a man there are some things you want to show off about.”

i have met a lot of guys who tend to show off and there were times it wont do good

[SHINGEN]: “And, to that end, I gotta take this here like a man. Haa… and I thought I wouldn’t have to take them since I felt good thanks to your blood…”

that’s weird since in the other army’s route. after drinking yuzuki’s blood they concluded she’s like himemiko. did i miss anything?

[SHINGEN]: “Neck or shoulders, I don’t care, but hold on tightly!”

if i choose neck, my head will be closer to his face right? my imaginations wont stop. damn it.

      It’s funny that he thinks not liking bitter pills has anything to do with him fighting Kenshin and Nobunaga LOL I’m with MC on that I don’t think anyone cares? Does he think Kenshin and Nobunaga are gonna force him to eat bitter pills? |D;;

Gotta give Shingen his pride here! I actually winced a couple of times throughout this chapter whenever she expressed extreme worry for him because one one hand, it’s cuuute! But on the other it really damages his pride ;;;;; he’s so considerate in bringing it up though and isn’t very angry when he asks if she can’t believe in him, or if she thinks he’s that weak.

Hmm? It’s been established that her blood does awaken their old powers but it won’t fully cure Shingen’s illness. I think he’s specifically talking about his illness here? Cause they already know she has powers. He just hasn’t really brought up any importance about it.

LOL whenever anyone gets princess carried I’m always waiting for that moment or line of description where it talks about the girl wrapping her arms around their neck ;)) the most romantic of positions.

Don’t worry, Shingen, you’re not alone. If anything, I will raise my eyebrow at people who say they love bitter pills… (is there someone like that…?)

Shingen-san easily lifted me up and, turning his back to the yakuma, he ran like the wind.

Lol, so refreshing. I’m done with people who insist they will fight when they shouldn’t.
Shingen… ran like the wind. lmaooo

Eugh, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they like bitter pills. I’m pretty okay with pills though ;;;; since you can just swallow them back. Imagine having to drink a really bitter soup… LOL. Deaaaaaath.

THAT MENTAL IMAGERY ALWAYS CRACKS ME UP. He just scoops up the heroine and zoooooooooom he’s gone! But also :3c he certainly enjoys picking up the heroine, huh, she’s been in his arms like twice now. (Then again Kenshin has carried her twice too…?).
