SNB Takeda ~ Chapter 6.2 ~

Chapter 6: Man Proposes, God Disposes

Organizing their preparations, they headed towards the border zone with Uesugi at last.

Their opponent was their longtime rival “Uesugi Kenshin”, one that could not be dealt with by ordinary means, and Takeda was to challenge them seriously but… what direction would the match go…!?

Chapter 6.2

The person who caught me when I fell after my footing collapsed was–

[YUZUKI]: (… What do I do! He’s not Shingen-san! Plus, I feel like I’ve seen him from somewhere…)

[???]: “… Whose permission did you obtain to enter this place. From your outfit you do not seem to be of the people at the base of this mountain.”

Pierced by those sharp eyes, I felt my body tremble on its own.

[YUZUKI]: “Er, um…”

[???]: “… A thief?”

[YUZUKI]: “No, you’re–… not wrong…”

[YUZUKI]: (If I came in without permission and took something I’m a thief!)

I realized for the first time, after it was said, that this was a fine act of robbery and I couldn’t think up any excuse on the spot.

[YUZUKI]: (What do I do! Imari-kun!)

I looked around to him for help but I couldn’t find him anywhere.

[???]: “… I will have you come with me.”

[YUZUKI]: “Erm! T-That’s a problem! Um, let go!”

I was lucky I was caught in this man’s arms, but when I frantically tried to escape from his arms I couldn’t budge him at all.

[YUZUKI]: (Aah, oh no, what do I do…!)

[???]: “Aah, I’m relieved you have finally returned… oh my, you are…”

[YUZUKI]: “Ah…!”

[YUZUKI]: (The Uesugi commander that Masakage-kun fought!? Then this person is also of Uesugi…)

[???]: “… Kagemochi. Is she an acquaintance of yours?”

[KAGEMOCHI]: “Yes. She is the woman that monkey brought along, the one I spoke to you about a few days ago.”

[???]: “Oh… then one of Takeda’s people…”

[YUZUKI]: “……!!”

Those eyes which were already cold shot through me with an even sharper light.

[KAGEMOCHI]: “… Incidentally, why are you holding her like that?”

[???]: “She fell from a high altitude.”

[KAGEMOCHI]: “… And thinking she would be injured, you helped an unknown and unfamiliar girl?”

[???]: “Owing to that, I made an unexpected find. Now we know the whereabouts of the Takeda army who aggressed into the border zone.”

[YUZUKI]: (Ah… just then that was Imari-ku–)

[???]: “–KENSHIN!!”

[KENSHIN]: “Hrm, I have been saved the effort of going to locate him. You’ve revealed yourself personally, Shingen.”

[KENSHIN]: “Do not blame me, woman.”

[YUZUKI]: “Wah!!”

[YUZUKI]: (What’s going on…!)

Shocked, I tried to sit up but right above me Shingen-san and the Uesugi warlord crossed swords with each other.

[SHINGEN]: “Yo, Kenshin, you arrived pretty early.”

[KENSHIN]: “Hn. As I thought, that cavalry was to buy time.”

[YUZUKI]: (Ken… shin… then this man is Uesugi Kenshin!?)

[MASAKAGE]: “Hey, you aren’t hurt!?”

[YUZUKI]: “Masakage-kun! Nobuharu-san!”

[MASAKAGE]: “You’re not hurt, right!? That tanuki really did appear to repay us!”

[NOBUHARU]: “Ha ha ha. It was fortunate we didn’t turn it into tanuki soup and eat it.”

[YUZUKI]: (Ah… come to think of it, Imari-kun was saved by Masakage-kun and the others when he was being chased by yakuma, huh…)

I didn’t know if it was because of that, but I realized that Imari-kun guided Shingen-san and the others here.

[YUZUKI]: (Imari-kun, thank you.)

[SHINGEN]: “–Don’t move from there yet. Haaaaargh!!”

[KENSHIN]: “……!”

Shingen-san pushed back Kenshin-san’s sword with force and Kenshin-san leapt back like that.

[SHINGEN]: “I’m not done yet!”

[KENSHIN]: “……”

[YUZUKI]: (Now!)

Little by little I gained distance from Shingen-san and Kenshin-san who were exchanging blows violently, and so I ran towards Masakage-kun and the others.

[KAGEMOCHI]: “I won’t let you ru–“

[MASAKAGE]: “Bastard, your opponent is me!”

[KAGEMOCHI]: “A bothersome monkey, hm. I should have killed you back then.”

[MASAKAGE]: “Hah!? Who’s a monkey! My name is Yamagata Masakage! You better remember the man who’s gonna take you out!”

[YUZUKI]: “Nobuharu-san!”

[NOBUHARU]: “Geez, we looked here and there for you. Shingen was very worried.”

[YUZUKI]: “I’m sorry…”

[YUZUKI]: (But I found Himemiko-sama’s sacred treasure!)

I firmly held the box that should have the sacred treasure to my chest again.

[YUZUKI]: “Shingen-san! The thing we were looking for is–“

[SHINGEN]: “–! Yakuma.”

[KENSHIN]: “… Kagemochi, we’re withdrawing.”

[KAGEMOCHI]: “Eh!? However!”

[KENSHIN]: “You must have heard the howling of yakuma. We must avoid the situation of them heading to the village at the base of this mountain.”

[KAGEMOCHI]: “… As you will.”

[KENSHIN]: “–Shingen, this bout shall be put over. The crime of breaking into this castle–“

[SHINGEN]: “Too bad. I intend to intrude for a little while longer. I won’t run away, so– the village, was it? Hurry and go check it out.”

[KENSHIN]: “……”

[MASAKAGE]: “… Is it okay to let them run?”

[SHINGEN]: “Yeah. There’s something that I’ve gotta do over here too.”

Shingen-san sheathed his sword and walked directly up to me–

[SHINGEN]: “Now, do you know what I want to say the most?”

no wonder small animals scared of you, Nobuharu. you kept wanting to eat them lol

aaah I love reading about the Uesugi from the Takeda’s point of view. there’s something very satisfying about making the Uesugi Kenshin the antagonist.

I haven’t read the second arc of the main stories yet (want to reread everything to have a refresher before I dive right in), but may I know if you are planning to translate them as well? would it be after clearing Mouri & Sanada?

L O L I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT since Nobuharu just seemed so sad and wanted to pet them… but you have a point here if his first thought about small animals is to eat them.

Is it because Kenshin is portrayed as such a can-do-no-wrong white knight in his own route that it’s kinda neat to see him be a little cold and cruel? |D;; But that’s true I love how they make him still within his character but definitely much colder and ruthless towards his enemies (aka. the heroine in this world).

Ahh, I haven’t gotten around to reading it either but SNB has been a little on the back burner (as shown by that week break i took off, oops) but I think it’d be best for me to translate everyone’s before heading into the second arc since everyone’ll be in Mouri lands. I’ll probably go ahead and read ahead though just out of curiosity and leak some spoilers on twitter as I normally do whenever I see anything interesting, oops.

[SHINGEN]: “Now, do you know what I want to say the most?”

That you are so happy I’m well and you want to kiss me all over??? =D
    (One can just hope… *sigh*)

Glad to see the quick thinking of Imari-kun. At first I wondered why you used the word “repay”, then I understood. I didn’t rembember that scene with the yakuma.

Also, I thought Yuzuki didn’t get the treasure when she fell, until she spoke of the box. I wonder: ¿Didn’t Kenshin noticed it? Or he just didn’t have the time to take it from her?

LMAO we all wish he would just confess his love and how worried he was :’)) except… no…

I love all the drawbacks they’re doing in Takeda here |D first it was the heroine and Shingen during their first yakuma encounter and now it’s what Imari went through during that time.

IIRC she grabbed it and was like “yay!” and then that’s when she fell. I bet Kenshin didn’t think much of it apart from her being a thief that was rummaging around for stuff and since he’s already carrying her (and she’s holding the box) he probably was just gonna take her to wherever he was going (a two-for-one deal, haha).

That last word (in this chapter) from Shingen…
Well, tbh already listening it many times, but still need to brace myself from it…

Ehem, but hmm… Partly it was Yuzuki’s fault I think, since she was so reckless (I think she more reckless than Shingen or both of them was always reckless to save others?)
But put aside that, just like I told in previous chapter, Kenshin was truly cold but… He’s still save her from falling. I still like that part, Kenshin…

Thank you for your hard works~!! ^^

SAME. I get nervous in general whenever anyone raises their voice at me so the next thing made me feel reaaaally bad for the heroine and everyone in general, though I could see where Shingen is coming from like you. Ehehe, Shingen and the heroine are similar in that they’re both concerned about others but not themselves |D she was totally being reckless with running off though since I felt like Imari could have led her to the sacred treasure at any time.

True to himself Kenshin is always a gentleman :’)) until he finds out that she’s the enemy though. Then he gets a little bit rougher, oof.

Kenshin is cruel 。゚ヽ(゚´Д`)ノ゚。 She already has a sorebutt, how could you do that!

        Ilinox responded:
        July 4, 2018 at 09:34

Haha, yeah, he says that line because he literally drops her to the ground to defend himself from Shingen |D;; a bit unexpected when you consider how much of a gentleman he usually is!

        AMBER said:
        July 4, 2018 at 10:22

Yes, it’s so unexpected (´;ω;`) though I know he did that to defend himself. And it’s also unexpectedly reckless for Shingen to just going straight to Kenshin while he’s carrying MC… I have a little thought if this happened in Uesugi route, Kenshin would never drop her but he’ll quickly turn around to use his own back get Shingen’s attack to protect her, I just recall the similar circumstance from Masamune’s ambush on the very first chapter of Uesugi.

[KENSHIN]: “Do not blame me, woman.”

Kenshin, people who say this usually are indeed deserving of blame. (-__-“)
After all that fiasco in his route, it feels jarring to see him so cold like in the olden days.

[SHINGEN]: “Now, do you know what I want to say the most?”

…are we in for some scolding?

      Ilinox responded:
      July 4, 2018 at 09:33

LOL I couldn’t find a better way to word it but it was like more like “Don’t hate on me” because his next actions are just dropping her straight to the ground so he can defend himself from Shingen (which makes me side-eye Shingen a bit because uhh you’re really gonna go for Kenshin while the heroine is between you two? But I guess it ended up working alright and his real plan was just to force Kenshin back and away from her). I felt like he was never cold back at the start of his own route either ;;; just indifferent and aloof. But he’s definitely emitting a chilly aura here.

WE ARE TOTALLY IN FOR SCARY SCOLDING.

    kenshin here is so cold

[KAGEMOCHI]: “… Incidentally, why are you holding her like that?”
[???]: “She fell from a high altitude.”

wait? what? did i imagine it right? did he carry her like a princess???

[KENSHIN]: “Hn. As I thought, that cavalry was to buy time.”

kenshin is ahead of them. unlike in his own route though…

[NOBUHARU]: “Ha ha ha. It was fortunate we didn’t turn it into tanuki soup and eat it.”

so imari kun finaaly asked introduce himself? i dont know what kind of animal is imari kun. but i’ll rather have beef or pig as meat.

[SHINGEN]: “Now, do you know what I want to say the most?”

    angry shingen. brace myself!!!

      July 4, 2018 at 09:32

Mhm, they don’t specify exactly what position she’s in but I’m guessing Kenshin caught her bridal style and just… continued carrying her like that LOL. Cracks me up that he was talking to Kagemochi while holding her until Kagemochi was like “Uh… by the way…”

No, they only saw him run around and lead them to the heroine so they still just think he’s a wild animal |D;; a tanuki is a Japanese raccoon dog!
