Chapter 7: Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
In order to obtain even more clues to Himemiko, Shingen decided to battle again with Uesugi.
The commanders of Takeda begin training for their battle with Uesugi, but!?
[SHINGEN]: “We’re going to attack Uesugi again!”
[MASAKAGE]: “ALRIGHT, let’s do it! This time we’ll knock them down!”
[NOBUHARU]: “Fuhaha. We’ll be crossing blades with Uesugi, huh! Very good!”
[MASANOBU]: “… There’s nothing we can do but that, hm. I’ve examined various things inside Takeda after everything that happened, but wasn’t able to get any valuable information.”
[MASATOYO]: “Yes. In order to attain information we cannot avoid a campaign to Uesugi territory.”
.[YUZUKI]: (… Everyone is acting in order to return me to my world. Of course, I’m really happy about that.)
[YUZUKI]: (However, Uesugi is really strong and Shingen-san has an incurable illness… If possible, I don’t want them to do dangerous things or unreasonable things.)
[YUZUKI]: (But if I say that as the main person then I’ll be disturbing everyone’s feelings…)
I couldn’t speak these thoughts to anyone and so, alone, my heart hurt.
Having decided on a campaign to Uesugi territory, those preparations proceeded steadily within the castle. And the morning practices as well were full of spirit.
[MASAKAGE]: “Nobuharu-san! One more, please!”
[NOBUHARU]: “Oh! You’re unusually enthusiastic, Masakage!”
[MASAKAGE]: “Of course! Cause I could only join half of the expedition last time!”
[MASAKAGE]: “This time I’m gonna go wild and show those guys in Uesugi a thing or two!”
[MASAKAGE]: “Now I’m coming, Nobuharu-san! –HAAGH!”
[NOBUHARU]: “Hm… nice, Masakage! That attack just now was quite a show of swordsmanship.”
[MASAKAGE]: “Hehe, it means I’ve gotten stronger too!”
[NOBUHARU]: “Then I suppose I should counter as well.”
[NOBUHARU]: “… Hrm. What’s wrong, is there something you need?”
[YUZUKI]: “Both of you have worked hard. Here are some towels if you’d like.”
[NOBUHARU]: “Ah, sorry for the trouble. Thanks.”
[YUZUKI]: “No, I can’t really do anything but this so… Masakage-kun, you too, I hope the results of your practices will come out on this upcoming expedition.”
Last time, Masakage-kun couldn’t fight together with Shingen-san because of me.
And even though I didn’t want them to do anything dangerous, I said words to try and support them, but Masakage-kun pouted.
[MASAKAGE]: “Hmph. Compared to your words, you have a gloomy face. It was a worthy mission to return home to the castle with you. So, um… stop going on and on about pointless things!”
[YUZUKI]: “… Masakage-kun, t-thank you.”
[NOBUHARU]: “Oh?… It appears that it’s not only your skills that have grown, but also your heart, Masakage!”
Nobuharu-san slapped Masakage-kun’s back cheerily.
[MASAKAGE]: “OW! Nobuharu-san, that hurts!”
[MASAKAGE]: “… I’m happy to be c-complimented but I still have far to go to return the favor Shingen-sama gave me.”
[MASAKAGE]: “So, one more match! Nobuharu-san, please!”
[NOBUHARU]: “Fuhaha, understood! I’ll accompany you however many times you want!”
As I watched the two return to their practice, I thought this unconsciously.
[YUZUKI]: (I see… the expedition this time isn’t just for me.)
[YUZUKI]: (Everyone is acting according to their own beliefs. But, still I…)
[NOBUHARU]: “… I hope she doesn’t think too much.”
[MASAKAGE]: “Hm? Nobuharu-san, is something wrong?”
[NOBUHARU]: “… No, it’s nothing. Now then, let’s begin!”
On the night of a few days later– a feast was served to everyone to bring up everyone’s spirits before the campaign.
[MASAKAGE]: “Ahhh, so goood! It soaks right into my tired body after training!”
[YUZUKI]: (It’s almost nice to see the way Masakage-kun is gulping down his food…)
[YUZUKI]: “Masakage-kun. Here, have some tea–“
