Chapter 4: Investigation, Find Himemiko!

In order to hold back the increase of yakuma, everyone joined forces, and the Sanada army began to search for Himemiko.

They visited the headman of a village to decipher old documents, but…

Chapter 4.5

We brought back the doctor from the neighboring village and one night passed after he examined the elder and made him drink medicine. In the morning, the elder had completely regained his health.

[ELDER]: “Aah… how do I thank you. Yukimura-sama, you are the savior of my life. Thank you deeply for this occasion.”

[YUKIMURA]: “I’m glad you’re all better. It makes me relieved too.”

.[ELDER]: “I am grateful for your concern.”

[ELDER]: “Incidentally… about the book you brought, Yukimura-sama, I took a look at it just a while ago.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Sorry for having you do that when you just recovered. So, did you find out anything?”

[ELDER]: “As it is a very old document, even I cannot read all the characters. However…”

[ELDER]: “I was able to decipher one passage.”

[ELDER]: “It appears that the forefather of the Sanada clan was gifted with some kind of a special tool from Himemiko-sama.”

[ELDER]: “The name of that tool seemed to be… a “sacred treasure”.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Something like that? I’ve never heard of that from my dad or grandpa though.”

[YUKIMURA]: “So, this sacred treasure thing, where is it now?”

[ELDER]: “That… I am deeply sorry. I was unable to decipher the location of the sacred treasure.”

[YUKIMURA]: “I see… alright. But it’s nothing you need to apologize for, elder.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Even just knowing about the existence of the sacred treasure is a huge development.”

[ELDER]: “No, no, it is an honor to be of assistance.”

[ELDER]: “… Um, in addition, there was something I was slightly curious about before…”

[YUKIMURA]: “Hm? What is it?”

[ELDER]: “I apologize for this impolite request, but could I have a look at that young lady’s face over there?”

[YUZUKI]: “Me…?”

[ELDER]: “Yes. For some reason, when I see your face I feel like there is some sort of memory…”

[ELDER]: “Hmmm… what was it. I believe it was something important but…”

[YUZUKI]: “… Well? Did you remember anything?”

[ELDER]: “… No. It’s useless. I can’t remember in the end…”

[ELDER]: “I sincerely apologize. Especially when I made that request.”

[YUZUKI]: “No, not at all. There’s no need to apologize.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Now then, we should return to the castle soon. Everyone, stay healthy!”

[ELDER]: “If you encounter any problems again, please feel free to come visit at any time.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Thanks. I’ll take you up on that.”

[YUKIMURA]: “We know what we’re doing when we get back to the castle with this, huh.”

[YUZUKI]: “We need to look into the special tool that Himemiko-sama gifted.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Yeah. We’ve taken one step forward.”

[YUKIMURA]: “… But.”

[YUZUKI]: “But? Is something wrong?”

[YUKIMURA]: “Ah, no. It’s nothing.”

[YUKIMURA]: “There’s something I’ve been thinking about, but I’ll talk about it when we’re with my brother and the others.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Anyway, for now, let’s go home to the castle together.”

[ELDER]: “I apologize for this impolite request, but could I have a look at that young lady’s face over there?”

A clue!!!! It might be because she looks like Himemiko but, you think they would’ve made that connection whenever Himemiko showed from her phone… Or at least something like, “I feel like I’ve seen that face before” sorta thing…

Think really makes me thing about the time periods and how old they are… I guess Mouri existed ever since Himemiko was still there from the little discussions I’ve seen. I remember assuming that it was like that for every Gekka Tribe but I guess it was only an oni thing. Also, I remember Saizou saying that yakumas only recently appeared and that they appeared whenever Himemiko disappeared. I thought that she’s been gong for a loooooong time from the way it looked but I guess not?
Nobuyuki said that Himemiko appeared when Shinga was in a period of constant warfare and Sanada wasn’t even formed… So does that mean that Himemiko lived for thousands of years?

I’m pretty curious about Himemiko in general, I mean, she’s lived for a long time, managed to turn Shinga into a peaceful place when it was full of wars, and knows magic from the way she summoned Yuzuki into the world and how she appeared on her cell phone? I wonder what’s her backstory…
    And, thanks for the translation!

Himemiko only showed as a figure of light from her phone so I don’t think they could see any details |D just the shape of a woman. It’d be really intriguing if she looked similar to Himemiko though because what would that mean? That she was stuck in a timeloop? That she was Himemiko’s reincarnation in another world? Hmmm…

I think (though I’m just as confused about the timeline as you are) that Himemiko appeared VERY far back in the past so that she was there during the founding of most clans. Buuuuut she lived for a very very long time and only RECENTLY disappeared so everyone felt the effects of the yakuma? Haha, here’s to hoping we get to learn more about Himemiko in the second season because I’m so confused as to what she is too and what’s going on |D.

Let me out of topic for a while. Just opened Date’s newest story, and Masamune’s voice hasn’t change, yes!!!

Ehem, back to topic. Hm? Why the elder was made that request? Are him have meet Himemiko back then? Kinda curious in that part…
But about sacred treasure’s location, I think that’s the pattern in every route (except Oda, since Nobunaga gives Yuzuki the treasure itself, keep wondering why he knows that)

Thank you for your hard works ili~!!

Haha, yeah! They had some Date events recently too where Umehara also voiced the Masamune cards so looks like he’s staying on as Masamune :)) yaaaay!!

I think that’s what the game is trying to imply here! Which makes me suuuuuper curious because they’re never clear as to when Himemiko appeared LOL. They make it sound like she arrived waaaaay back in the past (around the time Sanada was founded?? which is like generations ago) and yet this elder remembers her face? Unless Himemiko lived for thousands of years… oh god what IS she.

Toyotomi sort of had that as well! Hideyoshi knew exactly where to find the mirror, so I think he might have had an idea about the sacred treasure like Nobunaga. For Nobunaga, it’s probably that his clan kept good records because that dagger was gifted to his family and passed down as a relic from Himemiko.

Yeah, kinda disappointing that it’s only one passage but at least there’s a clue, somewhere in Sanada territory or inside the castle.

Forgot this even happened in Sanada route which is pretty interesting because that makes Sanada and Mouri the only two armies that seem closest to Himemiko, what with there being a shrine and an elder who seems to recall what Himemiko looks like. Meanwhile Mouri has that stone + past with Himemiko…

one passage only that was disappointing.

[ELDER]: “I apologize for this impolite request, but could I have a look at that young lady’s face over there?”
not unless i looked like himemiko?

I think that’s what they’re implying but I’m disappointed that they never bring it up again either. What the heck was with that! I totally forgot this happened until I came across it just now while translating :’)).
