Chapter 8: To Be Inseparable

Pursuing the sacred treasures, the Takeda army went on an expedition to Uesugi territory. On the way, they encountered the Sanada army by chance.

As Uesugi and Date move suspiciously, an alliance proposal came from Yukimura…

Chapter 8.5

[YUKIMURA]: “You won’t form an alliance, huh… If that is your decision, Shingen, then that’s how it is.”

Yukimura-san nodded while looking disappointed.

After that the Sanada army withdrew in a flash and Shingen-san and I watched them leave together.

[YUZUKI]: “… I hope they make it back to Sanada territory unharmed.”

[SHINGEN]: “There won’t be a problem. In the end, the enemy’s target is us. They should be able to head home safely.”

Parting with the Sanada army, we tried to march again. However, as if they were waiting for that, the Uesugi army attacked once again.

[SHINGEN]: “Now, playtime is over! We’ll attack them in one go!”

[TAKEDA SOLDIERS]: “OORAH!!”

At Shingen-san’s command the entire army clashed with Uesugi’s assault unit.

In the violent battle Nobuharu-san, who cut into the vanguard, returned and said he found Uesugi’s main force.

[NOBUHARU]: “Shingen, come finish things!”

[SHINGEN]: “Yeah, of course!”

And then right after he tried to advance the army to strike at the main body– we were attacked by the Date army from the flank.

[MASANOBU]: “Kgh. It appears that Uesugi’s main force was also a bait. At this rate, the army formation will–“

Before Masanobu-san finished his sentence, the army formation was pushed in by the Date army and collapsed. During the chaotic battlefield, someone grabbed my arm.

[MASAMUNE]: “This time you won’t get away, woman.”

[YUZUKI]: “Ah…!”

[SHINGEN]: “Date Masamune…!? HEY, WAIT! I won’t hand her over…!”

[NOBUHARU]: “Kh, small fries!? Get out of the way!”

[YUZUKI]: (I have to escape somehow…!)

But even though I struggled as hard as I could, the arm that was grabbed did not move an inch. Gradually, my surroundings also became surrounded by Date army soldiers. As my panic mounted, I heard a familiar voice.

[SAIZOU]: “Remove that filthy hand, you boor!”

[MASAMUNE]: “… How reckless of you to come from the front.”

Masamune-san slid his sword out like that and bisected Saizou-san– or he should have. However, what he cut was just wood.

[MASAMUNE]: “Wha!? This is…”

[SASUKE]: “Heh, Saizou’s specialty substitution technique! And this will be from me!!”

Sasuke-kun threw out countless kunai. Even someone like Masamune-san faltered at the sudden attack and released his hand from me.

[MASAMUNE]: “… Kgh.”

[KAMANOSUKE]: “Come, you’re over here.”

Pulled by Kamanosuke-san’s hand as he cut open a path while defeating the Date Army, I was taken away from Masamune-san.

[YUZUKI]: “T-Thank you. But why is everyone here…”

[KAMANOSUKE]: “Because the general decided that. –Look.”

Kamanosuke-san pointed to Yukimura-san, who was followed by many soldiers.

[YUKIMURA]: “Shingen! Sanada will help out in this battle too!”

Seeing that the Date army failed to capture me, they and the Uesugi army retreated.

Shingen-san looked at me when I returned safely and showed an apologetic expression.

[SHINGEN]: “… Right as I said I’d protect you, sorry for making you go through danger. You aren’t hurt?”

[YUZUKI]: “Yes, I’m safe. Please don’t worry, Shingen-san.”

[YUKIMURA]: “… Shingen, I have to apologize.”

[SHINGEN]: “No, I’m the one who should apologize. If you guys hadn’t returned then at this time she’d be…”

But Yukimura-san shook his head with a slight awkward look.

[YUKIMURA]: “It’s not about the alliance. Um, actually, last night I heard you two talking…”

Shingen-san showed an instance of surprise but then immediately smiled wryly.

[SHINGEN]: “You heard then… All of it?”

[YUKIMURA]: “Yeah, everything. I’ve been thinking about since learning about your guys’ situation, but… in the end, I decided to assist you.”

[YUKIMURA]: “I know we’re inexperienced. But on top of knowing this… I would like to ask for an alliance.”

[SHINGEN]: “… Geez, you… Really, you haven’t changed at all from the past.”

Of course, that’s meant in a good way, Shingen-san added with a wry smile before he straightened his posture.

[SHINGEN]: “Let me say this again. As Takeda’s general, this is welcome news. Will you form an alliance with us?”

Shingen-san held out his hand. Yukimura-san took that hand with a smile and the two exchanged a solid shake.

[SASUKE]: “Teaming up with Takeda… we’ll be the strongest allied army!”

[SAIZOU]: “Heh. With this, I can travel together with you again.”

[MASAKAGE]: “Hey, I’ve already said you’re overly-familiar! Don’t plaster yourself over her!!”

[SHINGEN]: “Haha… those guys haven’t changed from the past either.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Yeah. That’s why, without having changed from the past, we should be able to show some amazing coordination in battle.”

[SHINGEN]: “… You’re right. Alright, how about we go scare the hell out of Kenshin and Masamune.”

[YUKIMURA]: “Yes! Let’s go together!”

Masamune always has to touch her once in every other route LOL Masakage is pretty much acting like her guard dog now :’)) like Saizou said though, it’s not very adult-like or tolerant to be so jealous ehehe. Guys who have more tolerance and chill like Shingen are more attractive, Masakage~.

I’m glad that Yukimura know everything now, but I wonder what does he thinks about Yuzuki.

I cannot stop thinking, how stupid the whole war thing is… I mean, everyone had the same goal: To unite the country. BUT each one of them wants to be the ONE who rules it. They should sit down, talk about it and establish some kind of ruling council, where each clan could be in charge of some aspect of the government.
    For example:
    Sanada: Agriculture department.
    Date: Information agency or military.
    Toyotomi: Military.
    Takeda: Internal affairs.
Uesugi: External affairs… or trade or something like that.
    Oda: Administrative department… or economics…

    Do I make sense? LOL.

I think most wars in general are pretty stupid because, like you mentioned, it always starts from one person wanting to be THE ONE to make all the decisions. Unfortunately, even if they split their tasks like that I think an issue that would still be fought over is the general culture of the place they’re ruling (I mean, I guess they could split it into regions and things) but each army’s towns reflect the heart of the general. Like Sanada citizens are super welcoming and friendly, Toyotomi’s citizens love partying, etc etc. So, technically, while they all want to unite the country it’s in the image that they want |D or basically what each general sees the concept “peace” as.

Why am I not surprised that the conversation gets overheard? It’s starting to get pretty common in the game. XD LOL!

It’s funny that everyone insists on talking out in the open/woods when they know the other people are vampires/werewolves with enhanced senses LOL. Although, I guess you could argue that Masanobu and Shingen tried to make sure no one was around before bringing MC to places to talk to her. But still, yeah, it’s safest to assume there’s an eavesdropper everywhere |D.

[MASAMUNE]: “This time you won’t get away, woman.”

S**t!!! can i jump to masamune’s route? you’re so kind there.

[SAIZOU]: “Heh. With this, I can travel together with you again.”
[MASAKAGE]: “Hey, I’ve already said you’re overly-familiar! Don’t plaster yourself over her!!”

i really want a story between masakage vs 3 baby wolves.

[SHINGEN]: “… You’re right. Alright, how about we go scare the hell out of Kenshin and Masamune.”

good luck with that. unless you shake kenshin’s priciples.
or let masaume experience dirty tricks.

Aw, what’s with that lack of faith in Shingen and Yukimura towards winning against Kenshin and Masamune? |D

I just love how gruff Masamune is on every other route but his own LOL. He’s always just popping up and around to kidnap the MC (although I loved him the most in Uesugi, oops).

[SASUKE]: “Teaming up with Takeda… we’ll be the strongest allied army!”

If I have to bet though, I’ll place my bet on Oda-Toyotomi alliance as the strongest…. :P
