SNB Motoharu ~ Awakening ~

Posted on Updated on

Ever since I came to the Mouri army’s castle, I continued to spend my days doing miscellaneous work under Motoharu-san’s instructions.

But I would make one mistake every day and each time I got Motoharu-san angry I felt apologetic…

Thinking that I couldn’t get discouraged here, I worked even harder on the jobs entrusted to me.

And then, one day, I was called by Motoharu-san—

[MOTOHARU]: “I’m going to tell you the tasks you’re doing for today.”

[YUZUKI]: “Okay…!”

[MOTOHARU]: “The contents are… to be my assistant for the entire day.”

[YUZUKI]: “Huh…!?”

[MOTOHARU]: “What are you surprised about? If you put to use everything I’ve told you up to now, then there shouldn’t be any problems.”

I thought being Motoharu-san’s aide would be the most responsible work I’ve done up to now, but— my answer was decided from the beginning.

[YUZUKI]: “Okay! I’ll do my best!”

[MOTOHARU]: “Mm, good response. Take a look through this then. It details the work you should do.”

Saying that, Motoharu-san handed me a checklist but—

[YUZUKI]: “T-this much…!”

[MOTOHARU]: “What, getting cold feet already?”

[YUZUKI]: “No, this is fine! I’ll begin immediately!”

[YUZUKI]: (Today I’m going to be careful of every single thing so that I won’t be warned by Motoharu-san…!)

On that day I did a wide range of jobs from chores to assisting him in training.

[MOTOHARU]: “Hey, about the purchases—“

[YUZUKI]: “Ah, I’ve already done those.”

[MOTOHARU]: “Oh… that was quick.”

[YUZUKI]: “Guests are going to be here, right? In that case, I thought we needed to prepare refreshments early.”

[MOTOHARU]: “That’s a good mindset. Be sure to do the rest of your tasks with that attitude.”

[YUZUKI]: “Yes!”

And then, while I worked busily, time passed in a flash and by the time I noticed it was night.

Finishing the last of my tasks, I went to the courtyard.

[YUZUKI]: (I wonder where Motoharu-san is…?)

I was going to report that I finished today’s work and walked through the courtyard while looking around the area and carrying some water—

[YUZUKI]: “Ah, Motoharu-san, you must be tired.”

[MOTOHARU]: “Hm? Oh, it’s you.”

[YUZUKI]: “Here, water. Please have some, if you’d like.”

Motoharu-san was a little surprised when I held the water out, but then he lowered his bamboo sword and smiled quietly without warning.

[MOTOHARU]: “You’ve become sensible.”

Motoharu-san said that and dropped his hand onto my head.

[YUZUKI]: “Motoharu-san…?”

[MOTOHARU]: “You worked hard today.”

[MOTOHARU]: “Although you couldn’t do anything at the beginning, you’ve become able to do miscellaneous tasks firmly like this because of your persistent efforts.”

[YUZUKI]: “Oh no… it’s thanks to you, Motoharu-san. You taught me patiently, so…”

[YUZUKI]: “I don’t think I could have grown to this point if I was doing it alone.”

[MOTOHARU]: “No need to be modest, because I’ve said it to this point. Be more proud of yourself.”

[YUZUKI]: “Motoharu-san…!”

[MOTOHARU]: “However…”

And then, after Motoharu-san smiled kindly, he suddenly kneeled in front of me—

[MOTOHARU]: “You are always humble and never haughty. I love that side of you—“

Motoharu-san took my hand and pressed his fangs gently into the back of my head.

[MOTOHARU]: “……”

[YUZUKI]: “Ah…”

Blood slowly seeped out from the place I was nipped and Motoharu-san quietly licked and kissed that.

[MOTOHARU]: “Apparently, a kiss on the back of the hand means respect.”

[YUZUKI]: “That’s… But why are you doing this—“

[MOTOHARU]: “I absolutely wouldn’t kneel to a person I didn’t love.”

[MOTOHARU]: “So, the answer as to why I would do such a thing is simple. —It’s because I appreciate you.”

[YUZUKI]: (Motoharu-san…)

[MOTOHARU]: “… Sorry for suddenly biting you. I intended to hold back, but did it hurt?”

[YUZUKI]: “No, I’m fine…”

Hearing that, Motoharu-san tenderly licked at the blood that was still seeping from the back of my hand.

[MOTOHARU]: “I swear to this blood that I will protect you now and in the future.”

[MOTOHARU]: “So, continue to be a woman suited for standing by my side.”

Without hesitation I nodded slowly at those firm and kind words.

This one is the decent type. I like him.
But no, I don’t think there was such thing as kissing hands in the Sengoku.

Hahaha, Motoharu is really steady in the Mouri army. Motonari is still too suspicious and him being the leader means he must have done shady things. Takakage is straight up ruthless. Takamoto lacks self-confidence and needs a lot of support. Terumoto is a child…

Hey!! Motonari doesn’t look girly in his awakening LOL. The chivalry thing will never not bother me because it seems so out of place in Sengoku period though /o\ we aren’t in Europe!!

It’s really interesting how the “brawn” characters in each army have these unexpected sides to them. Like Motoharu definitely looks like the muscle of the group but he’s actually really intelligent (seems to fulfill a kind of Mitsuhide-like role in taking care of all the administrative things?? Until Takamoto steps up) and he’s emotionally intelligent LOL.

Somehow I like the CG, plus his seiyuu was Ono Yuuki (when will you come to my place, Lancelot YvY). But that kiss… Just like you said in waterinegirl’s comment, the concept was from European, I truly wonder where did he learn those? Books?

Thank you for your hard works, and Happy Chinese New Year for who celebrate it~!!

Hm, then again Christianity was being introduced to Japan during the Sengoku period, so if there was that kind of custom to show respect between the missionaries and higher… pope-like figures or something, maybe that’s where they learned the custom? Haha, otherwise, yeah this was a bit out of nowhere.

Ehehe, yeah!! Happy Lunar New Year :D.

[MOTOHARU]: “Apparently, a kiss on the back of the hand means respect.”

but here in the world i grew in, kissing a hand means you like/love the person

    [MOTOHARU]: “I absolutely wouldn’t kneel to a person I didn’t love.”

he looks prince charming. hold on did he say he love me?

[MOTOHARU]: “So, continue to be a woman suited for standing by my side.”

im speechless but this could leave me blushing.

Nah, think of chivalry and knights! Although, it makes me wonder if kissing the back of the hand was a thing in the Sengoku period… LOL do they even have stories or know about the concept of European knights? Hmmm.
