Chapter 1: Imminent Danger

Looking for clues on Himemiko, Shingen and the others proceeded smoothly towards Mouri territory.

However, the scouts brought back “troubling information”…

Chapter 1.5

[SHINGEN]: “Something important…?”

[YUZUKI]: “Yes! This!”

When I took out medicine pills Shingen-san grimaced.

[SHINGEN]: “Gugh…! Of all things, you remembered that…”

[SHINGEN]: “It’s already night, so isn’t it alright if I don’t take one for today?”

[YUZUKI]: “Nope! Even if you feel fine now, it’ll be a problem if your health collapses at a crucial moment.”

[SHINGEN]: “That might be true, but…”

[NOBUHARU]: “Resign yourself, Shingen. Once she becomes like this, her will won’t bend.”

[MASAKAGE]: “As a herbalist, she’s really stubborn.”

[MASATOYO]: “Masakage has received treatment even after saying this and that every time, huh.”

[MASANOBU]: “Therefore, Shingen-sama, I don’t think she’ll quit until you take the pill.”

[YUZUKI]: “Yes! Until you take it, I’ll follow you wherever you go!”

[SHINGEN]: “… Jeez, I’ve lost to you.”

[YUZUKI]: “Please go ahead and choose one.”

[SHINGEN]: “Haa… I thought I could get away with not taking it today.”

[YUZUKI]: “As long as I’m here I won’t allow that to happen.”

[SHINGEN]: “I know… Seriously, our herbalist is strict.”

Shingen-san resolved himself and threw the pill into his mouth. Then his face immediately twisted.

[SHINGEN]: “Ugh… today’s a bitter one too.”

[YUZUKI]: “A sweet one might appear tomorrow.”

[SHINGEN]: “That’d be nice…”

[MASANOBU]: “Ahaha, it really was correct to ask her to be our herbalist.”

[MASATOYO]: “Mm. If it was us then he wouldn’t have taken it so readily.”

[MASANOBU]: “Yes, exactly. We were often deceived.”

Masanobu-san nodded to Masatoyo-san’s words and then turned to me and smiled.

[MASANOBU]: “Thank you for taking on the role of our herbalist.”

[MASATOYO]: “We’ve really been helped thanks to you.”

[YUZUKI]: “Not at all… I haven’t done much…”

[SHINGEN]: “Don’t be so humble. Thanks to your pills, I can fight to my satisfaction tomorrow too.”

Shingen-san said this, smiling, and then stared directly at me before telling me this.

[SHINGEN]: “It’ll be a pretty large battle tomorrow. However, I’ll definitely protect you so don’t be worried.”

[YUZUKI]: “Right…”

Shingen-san and the others wouldn’t break their promise. I was certain that, like their words, they would protect me.

[YUZUKI]: (But…)

[SHINGEN]: “Well then, we have to get up early tomorrow too so let’s—“

[YUZUKI]: “Excuse me…”

[SHINGEN]: “Hm? What’s wrong?”

[YUZUKI]: “I believe in everyone. That we’ll win no matter what army is our opponent. But…”

[YUZUKI]: “I don’t want everyone to push themselves too hard. If anything should happen, please drink my blood.”

[SHINGEN]: “But…”

[YUZUKI]: “I’m also a member of the Takeda army. I don’t want to just be protected; I want to protect everyone!”

[SHINGEN]: “……”

Shingen-san’s eyes widened for a moment and then he smiled happily.

[SHINGEN]: “… You’re right. You aren’t a woman that’s just to be protected, huh.”

[NOBUHARU]: “Mhm. A normal girl wouldn’t be able to do something such as throwing a rock at a yakuma to counterattack.”

[MASAKAGE]: “She also scolded a general.”

[YUZUKI]: “I-I was desperate at the time…!”

[SHINGEN]: “I understand how you feel. If necessary, we’ll borrow your blood. But, in the end, that’s the last resort.”

[SHINGEN]: “Everyone, do your utmost best so that this doesn’t happen!”

At that moment, where everyone responded loudly to Shingen-san’s words, an unexpected visitor appeared.

[YUKIMURA]: “Shingen! Has my brother come here?”

[SHINGEN]: “No, I haven’t seen him…”

[YUKIMURA]: “I see…”

[YUZUKI]: (Yukimura-san seems to be acting a bit strange…?)

[SHINGEN]: “… What happened?”

Yukimura-san hesitated for a second at Shingen-san’s question, but then he slowly opened his mouth.

[YUKIMURA]: “You see— my brother has disappeared.”

Yuzuki’s personality real shines here. Makes me wish in the anime we had seen more of her as a herbalist.

Mm, I’ll never stop complaining about how the anime version of otome games always feels like such a cop out because they have to give the spotlight to everyone and they don’t focus on a single route or more coherent story SOBS.

I especially enjoyed today’s chapter more than usual. What I love about this chapter and this route in particular is the fact that instead of the writers pursuing a rather weak mc they used her stubbornness as her strong point quite nicely. This is shown in this chapter particularly when she is determined to get Shingen to take his medicine which in the long run benefits the army. At the same time the writers also took into consideration of practicality and not making the mc overpowered when in all honesty a regular person (like mc minus the fact she has special blood) wouldn’t be trained like some supper saiyan ninja. So though Yuzuki isn’t the strongest she is most definitely not the weakest compared to other mcs. I personally finds this game more interesting to play because she isn’t lacking in personality and she isn’t bland but rather reckless and strong willed which impacts the game in itself. The only thing she doesn’t have are eyeballs .-. but mean it’s not like you need them or anything so that’s ok …

FIRST, I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THE NO EYEBALLS COMMENT. One day… one day we’ll get rid of the plague that is eyeless heroines :’)) because, like you said, it’s way more fun for them to have their own personalities and any story will leak out their heroine’s personality (like what’s happening already in SNB and especially all 6 other MCs in the other army routes).

I mentioned in the previous comment already but, yeah, Takeda is one of my favorite versions of the heroine!! She has an actual role and is has taken to it like a fish in water. I think her skills have developed very naturally since we spent like 1-2 chapters of her learning from Masanobu and Masatoyo and then picking herbs with Masakage. Basically, most chapters show her improving in her role as a herbalist and supporting Shingen that way.

I also think the other thing we gotta remember to keep in mind is that all the men we see in the game are on the higher end in this world LOL because they’re vampires, werewolves, and oni. Even normal people and villagers can’t match them + they’re generals and commanders :’D not even random foot soldiers. So the disparity between their physicality and the heroine is even more exaggerated and shouldn’t be taken as a measure of the heroine’s lack of skills. Her special blood actually attempts to put her own equal grounds with them.

Shingen listens to yuzuki. I dont know thats a good thing or bad thing. but out of all routes, i like shingen-yuzuki relationship.

Haha, I think it’s a good thing and I’m pretty fond of the Takeda heroine too. She’s really tough and has an actual role as their herbalist. It’s suuuper cute how Shingen refers to her as “their” herbalist and I was actually really tempted to translate it as “our family’s herbalist” LOL because that’s kind of the implication he gave with what he said in Japanese.

Poor Shingen he can’t escape from MC ahhahaha…. Now its yukimuras turn to appear…..Did they really fight or they’re trying to trick everyone? I’m not believing that nobuyuki will join odas amry.

it’s a good thing that Sanada Route is next^^ thank you for translating^^

You know, when the MC said she’d follow him anywhere until he took the pill, I instantly thought of how he could be like “Well, that makes me want to take it less so you’ll stay here by my side forever :D” HAHA. I guess that’s more like a Masanobu or Kagemochi answer and not in line with Shingen’s niceness.

I think, judging from Yukimura’s reaction, that Nobuyuki decided on this plan himself and didn’t tell Yukimura so that it’d be super convincing :S I don’t believe Nobuyuki actually joined Oda either, but he’s probably lying to everyone so their reactions will be genuine in order to fool someone like Nobunaga.

You’re welcome and, yes, we’ll finally get our answers (maybe?) in Sanada!!

omg now i wished he said that. I hope they’ll explain it.^^

“I instantly thought of how he could be like “Well, that makes me want to take it less so you’ll stay here by my side forever.”
        I thought exactly that! Hahaha.
But you are right, Illinox, I can totally see Masanobu and Kagemochi bulllying Yuzuki that way.
BUT… I would totally smack them with a stick in the head as soon as they try to sleep, or throw them water or something to equally bother them.

Ah, but I love Shingen. He doesn’t wan’t to take the pills, but he also doesn’t want her to worry.
