Chapter 3: Will
A scream echoed on the battlefield. When they ran towards the location of the voice there they found Toshiie heavily injured by Mouri Motonari. Despite trying to use her blood to heal Toshiie’s wound though…
—We finally arrived at the place the light of the sacred treasurer pointed at while working together.
[HANBEE]: “This is…”
[RANMARU]: “A lithograph, it seems.”
[YUZUKI]: “Ah… the sacred treasure’s light…!”
The light disappeared from the mirror before our eyes.
[HANBEE]: “I guess it means it’s done it’s duty.”
[RANMARU]: “That being the case, this is the clue the sacred treasure directed us to then?”
[KOJUUROU]: “… I was wary about an attack from the Mouri army, but we’ve arrived without any troubles.”
[HANBEE]: “Hey, it looks like some letters are carved in. Let’s get a little closer to examine it.”
[RANMARU]: “You’re right… —!”
[KOJUUROU]: “This presence…”
Suddenly, just when Ranmaru-san and Kojuurou-san turned around with grim looks on their face, Hanbee-kun whispered to me.
[HANBEE]: “Get behind me.”
Hanbee-kun and the others put the stone slab to their back and stared hard at the forest’s bushes.
[HANBEE]: “They’re coming straight here.”
[KOJUUROU]: “Yes… it doesn’t appear to be a large number, but—“
[RANMARU]: “Perhaps the lithograph is their objective? Or…”
[YUZUKI]: “It can’t be the Mouri army…!?”
[HANBEE]: “If that’s the case, that’d be bad… But it looks like we’re wrong, see?”
Facing the three shadows that appeared, Hanbee-kun called out.
[HANBEE]: “Just when I wondered who it’d be it was you guys, huh.”
The three people’s eyes widened when they noticed us at Hanbee-kun’s words.
[YUZUKI]: “Those people are…”
[KOJUUROU]: “Uesugi’s Naoe Kanetsugu, Takeda’s Kousaka Masanobu, and Sanada’s Yuri Kamanosuke…”
In the middle of the explosive situation, Hanbee-kun gently whispered to me while I was frightened.
[HANBEE]: “Don’t worry, everything’s alright because this is Mouri’s lands.”
[YUZUKI]: “What do you mean…?”
[HANBEE]: “If we make a ruckus then we’ll be discovered by the Mouri army, right? Besides, those guys look really tired and should want to settle things in peace.”
Both parties kept a wary distance from each other— but then a familiar roar echoed.
[YUZUKI]: (This noise…!)
When we turned our eyes to the noise, several yakuma appeared and surrounded us before jumping at us all at once.
[HANBEE]: “Don’t move from here!”
Hanbee-kun said that and fought back the oncoming yakuma.
The other commanders swung their weapons, trying to kill the yakuma, but—
[RANMARU]: “Kgh, they’re certainly tough…! They’re not ordinary yakuma…!?”
[YUZUKI]: (Everyone’s attacks aren’t working…! At this rate, the yakuma will—!)
[HANBEE]: “Ah!? Watch out—!”
Distracted by everyone’s battle, I turned around and behind me stood a yakuma.
[YUZUKI]: (I can’t dodge it…!)
I tensed at the attack and in that moment—
[HANBEE]: “Ngh… I’m OK. This isn’t anything.”
Hanbee-kun, covering his arm that was struck, looked towards the commanders who were fighting with the yakuma.
[HANBEE]: “Everyone’s scattered in their movements. Like this, we’re going to end up repeating the same thing…”
[HANBEE]: “How about we have a temporary truce and drive back the yakuma?”
