Celebrating 8th Anniversary!

Posted on Updated on

EDIT: The winning numbers are 387 and 134. leohikarusora was closest to the first one with 379 and waterinegirl with 143. Thank you to everyone who participated and I loved seeing all the stories people have been reading. Funnily enough, or maybe not since we’re all here on an otome blog, I’ve actually seen quite a few of those titles!

Ha ha! This time I’ve scheduled this post ahead of time so I don’t forget it like I did last year (and had to do an embarrassing backdate). I never know what to say in these things, but here’s a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported my blog up until now and a WARM WELCOME to all the newcomers that joined this year! I’ve always done what I do on this blog for myself, but it’s nice to connect with other people who share the same interests!

Looking back over the year, and comparing this post to my last anniversary post, it looks like I finally finished my Light Beyond translation (and then immediately started up another LN translation LOL). I’ve also opened up commissions and the interest in people for that exceeded my expectations a thousand times, so thank you all so much (๑→‿←๑).

Regarding the future of this blog, I still plan on continuing with it and heading wherever my interests take me (as long as it’s otome-related)! I’m trying hard to make my way back to otome games and am in the middle of endless Pio Fiore, which… just got localized. AKSYS STOP TARGETING ME LIKE THIS. Honest to gods, every single game I want to play they nab for localization. And you’d think I’d be like “Okay, I won’t blog about it then…” but I blog about these games for my own memory and practice!!

The main reason for my slow playing speed is because I’ve got other personal projects going on. It’s my goal to finish writing my WIP novel by the end of next year, so I’ve been stretching my time between that, this blog, and my full-time job. I also finished my part in a game project that I was working on with some friends, so woohoo!

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who has left a comment on this blog, dropped by for a view, or are just a long-standing lurker. I hope next year brings more games onto this blog LOL. Incidentally, I’ll be hosting a giveaway this year since I’m much more prepared.

Congratulations on your 8th year anniversary!

The story I’ve recently read is 最後にひとつだけお願いしてもよろしいでしょうか. There aren’t many chapters of it but I enjoy it for how little it really takes itself seriously and the heroine just goes off running wild lol. I’d say it was a nice change of pace.

OH! I was actually checking out the manga to that recently and I was interested enough to go grab the light novel :”D I love how terrifying the heroine is when she finally gets to free herself of her mask. What the heck was with her family pushing her to get with that scum prince though LOL.

I’ve been reading lots of webtoons as well.My favorite is an ongoing one titled “Who Made Me Princess”. The main girl one day wakes up as a baby, with all her memories intact, in another world. She soon discovers that she’s become one of two princesses in a novel she read back in Earth. The problem though is that she’s not the main beloved character; she’s actually the hated Princess Athanasia who dies in the hands of her own father. Knowing this, she’s now determined to get in on the good side of Papa, I mean, Emperor Claude (best dad) so that once the real main character finally.arrives and takes her place as the favored princess, Athy won’t get killed and perhaps just get away unscathed. Both the Athy and Papa Claude are so precious throughout the series. Athy just oozes cuteness, cleverness, and wit it melted, not only Papa Claude’s heart, but also my own which should’ve ABSOLUTELY solely preferred darker stories, lmao~ Now I’m a sucker for romance, and shoujo.

Congratulations on reaching your 8th Anniversary! Here’s t hoping for more amazing years to come~

A story I really enjoyed is a manga called SPY X Family. It’s about a spy who needs to infiltrate a school to get information on this guy, but the school is very traditional so he needs a kid and wife to be able to get in. However, the kid he ends up adopting is an esper and his wife is a hitman. They all dont know about each other identities, which makes it very hilarious. Its vet funny, cute and heartwarming along with some cool action scenes!

Hello. Thanks very much for sharing everything with us. Please keep up the hard work!! I look forward to following your translations in the future as well!

Any chance you have had a chance to see Kochoki Wataki Nobunaga? It’s an anime that is airing this season about Oda Nobunaga?

Take care of yourself! Thanks once again for everything you have done for this fandom!!

I haven’t seen it but, ooh, looks pretty interesting! I’m not a huge Sengoku era buff but I don’t mind checking out how attractive Nobunaga is in this version– hahaha.

Are you choosing a number with one of those random generators or is the number just for fun? lol.

The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo. I think it’s based on Chinese-Malay culture. Have you read it? It’s a supernatural romance, and the story is very vividly written. The main character is sent to a spirit world and she’s kind of pushed into an “arranged marriage” with a dead guy (his ghost)… I can see the mysterious man she meets (not the arranged marriage person) going on your bias list. What I remember the most is the kiss that happens after she falls into a well, as well as when the mysterious man’s face is revealed (he keeps it covered). I don’t want to spoil too much. She came out with another book I look forward to reading.

Congratulations and thanks for doing a giveaway.

Two numbers will be picked through a random number generator and the two people closest to those numbers will get their choice of a game or drama CD translation :D!

This is hilarious because I actually have read this book a couple years ago. I’m SO glad the male lead is Er Lang because, for some strange reason, I thought it was going to be the ghost dude LOL. You are so right about the mystery man (cough Er Lang cough) being on my bias list because I’m always a sucker for the gentle protectors :’)).

Eheh, thank you for sharing one of your stories and commenting to participate!!

A thing I read: Fingersmith, by Sarah Walters. It’s kind of a lesbian retelling of a very early detective novel called The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. Very Romantic. There’s crime, double and triple crossing, yearning, mystery, conspiracy, etc.

I’ve recently read ひゃくにちかん!! and it’s super adorable and heartwarming. It’s about a high school student who’s mom goes on a 3 month trip overseas, but she leaves him her friend’s 5 year old daughter to take care of while she’s gone. The main character learns to open up through the different shenanigans with the girl. The characters and their interactions are really fun and it’s really wholesome and fluffy to read, especially when feeling down!

Tell me about a story you’ve read and enjoyed recently:
It was hard to pick one, but one of my recent favorites is Iwakutsuki Bukken no Yakuro-san. It’s about a guy that moves in an apartment building that is haunted by a female ghost and instead of being scared by her, he is actually in love with her. It’s so funny how she tries to scared him off and he misinterprets it as romantic gestures 😂 So basically it’s a RomCom about weird guy and the confused and shy female ghost.

    Also Happy Early 8th anniversary!!!

Well, recently I read Hidoku Shinaide, a BL manga that I absolutely LOVE. The love between Maya and Nemu is really sweet and cute <3
At the beginning Maya wanted to bully Nemu but he fell in love with him later on in the story and their romance, their relationship grows each chapter.
The manga is still ongoing. The art is gorgeous. I love Nekota-sensei's art.
I wish I could draw like that xD

Hello! If I can choose… please let me tell you about Juuza Engi (Engetsu Sangokuden). It my first japanese otome game. I had read all reviews and even watched ova (please do not watch it!) and the last achievement become download a game. Now I continue step by step knowing character and fall in love with them~ Historical game is my passion so I find story is very exciting. Unfortunate, there are not many romantic moments, but I do not think It is bad. Also I really love heroine, Kan U, she cool and cute! I think she the best otone heroine ever! I hope you liked this game too.

P.s. I am so sorry for my bad English ^^”

the number you’re thinking about is 100.

hm, i’m not sure what story you want us to describe, if it’s from your blog or not, but i’m going to wing it. i’ve recently read a manga called Pocchari Kanojo to Sweet Kareshi Anata to Toroama Sxercise and it is such a sweet manga. the man has a sweet tooth and loves sweets. while the girl loves to eat food and is chubby. they both met each other at a sweets shop. then they continue to interact with each other by eating sweets. they also work at the same company together. then the guy starts to develop feelings for the mc and he asks her out. then the company decides to have a beach get together and mc starts to become self consiencious and said she wants to lose weight.

she loses the weight in 3 weeks and becomes cuter. all guys at the company starts to pay attention to her blah blah. oh, mc and the guy is hiding their relationship since male lead is so popular that it makes mc scared of his fans.

she wears her bikini and a company coworker starts to hit on her. male is jealous and is like don’t touch. coworker is like you guys are not dating. guy is like in fact we are and takes mc away. he holds her in a hidden area and is like i don’t care if your chubby or not, i like you either way. i just want my girl who likes to eat sweets with me.

ch. 2 is about male leads ex who is bi and likes mc. another jealous male lead, but in the end it resolves it’s self and asked her to be with him forever. he goes and mets her parents.

First, congrats for the 8th anniversary~!! I really enjoyed your translatations (maybe not all, but the most projects you take, I really have fun), and thank you for sharing it to us…

    Number : 379

    Q. Tell me about story you’ve read
    A. I’ve read some light novels, but yeah it’s have gore genre (you’re right, Goblin Slayer). But I also read romance mangas, Akagami no Shirayukihime. Maybe you already know about it, but I guess I’ll what you ask… It’s about a girl, named Shirayukihime who had a rare red color hair and many people want her hair, including the prince in her hometown. But someone saved her, named Zen, that found he’s a prince from neighbor town, and bring her to his hometown.

    Q. Tell me about story you’ve enjoyed recently
    A. Hmm… Right now I’m most enjoying games, but if this included, recently I’m enjoying Collar x Malice series (don’t worry I won’t spoil you whatever happens), for me it’s truly fun and really like that series (hopefully I can purchase the game for real)
But if game’s story didn’t included… The recently I read is Goblin Slayer (even it’s already a year ago), it’s about a man who for all his life slaying goblins (the one that voiced by Ume-chan in the anime series)

That’s long one, but I enjoyed it. Once again, congrats for the 8th anniversary, and thank you for your hard works~!!
PS. Piorre is… Have localized!? I’m ready, Akkys Games!!

recently read the first chapter of 殺し屋Sのゆらぎ and i instantly developed a fondness for the series and purchased the first volume (digitally). it’s basically about a killer who fell in love with his target, killed those who wanted to take her life, followed her around to protect her, got noticed by her, started exchanging letters with her and then became her bodyguard. this all happened in one chapter. xD series is really fluffy and their interactions are adorable!

This sounds absolutely adorable and I am definitely gonna check this out. Thanks for sharing! Reminds me of another story I’m reading called 先生のやさしい殺し方 and it’s about a serial killer who kills other serial killers and apparently he killed the heroine’s parents (meaning… they must have been serial killers, but it’s not confirmed) and so she wants to kill him for revenge. He’s amused and so decides to teach her how to be a killer and trains her while he’s hunting his prey so that she can one day kill him. It’s supposedly a dark romance, but it’s just been pretty cute (though there’s, uh, admittedly gory shots featuring the killers and when they’re killed by our serial killer male lead).

“tell me about a story you’ve read” im not so sure if you’re referring to the stories i read in this blog or outside the blog.
“and enjoyed recently” checking my webcomics app
star dream idol project. i ship luna and leo. the story is about luna who entered a competition. she disguised herself as someone else. She was actually a daughter of a famous actress. but her mom got involve in a gossip that destroy her career. She entered the competition hoping to win but it will never be easy. one of the judges of the competition is leo. leo never liked her and it irritated her on how is she going to prove herself. then she got her chance when she sang her own version of deep see echo. deep see echo is a famous song written and sang by leo. leo’s reason for joining showbiz is to change the industry while luna’s reason for joining is to find out who destroy her mom’s life and career. you can read the rest on webcomics app and he story is currently on going.
there are other stories in webcomics app that’s also interesting but i ended up choosing this. dont judge me.
