Hello! This blog is dedicated to otome games and other things related to a maiden’s heart. As you can see, not only does this place host my playthroughs to help me keep track of the games I’ve played and scenes from those games, but it also acts as a nice way to share my hobbies and interests with all of you! It will also include translations of drama CDs that I found interesting, or that have been requested through giveaways, and even podcasts about ambiguous topics. Basically, I’ll be using this blog as my personal storehouse for otome-related things.
Ilinox is my most commonly used alias on the internet, so if you see that name then chances are it’s me! Officially, I have a flavors page that’ll show you most of the places you can find me at. I’m easy to reach through comments here or on my Twitter. Don’t be afraid of striking up a conversation with me because I enjoy meeting new people!
My Japanese is roughly around N2 level (I’ll be taking the JLPT sometime in 2016 to see where I officially rank) and so my translations shouldn’t be taken as gospel; the farther back you go in my blog’s past the clearer it is on how bad my Japanese was back then… I’ve improved tons though and I’d say most of my translations are word for word now.
By the way, any playthroughs I do about otome games include my opinions which anyone can feel free to disagree with so long as they do it in a polite and courteous manner. This is the internet, but let’s try to be civil. You may have noticed from my posts that I also like to talk/write a lot, and I’m always up for talking about any of the games I’ve played and their characters.
Random personal facts: I’m 23 years old and working as a Legal Assistant for the government, so I won’t be able to guarantee rapid-fire updates… _(:3」∠)_ being a responsible adult is hard. I’m also an avid video gamer so I may disappear for days to play other games which you’ll probably be able to tell from the contents of my Twitter spam.
The characters that I am fanatic over right now can be found on my list of biases. I’ll be updating it periodically because it’s interesting to see the commonalities of the people I’m attracted to. (Currently, it looks like I’m attracted to men with power or something because over half of them are kings, princes, or war generals… UHH… I swear I don’t have a megalomaniac fetish).
My favorite gaming platforms are the PC and PSP/PSVita. I used to prefer PC otome games because ATLAS and AGTH were extremely helpful but the best way to improve your Japanese is to play without any translating aids and the PSP/PSVita has helped me tremendously here. For other games I almost always prefer the PC version over any consoles because my gaming rig is my child.
Lastly, but most importantly, this blog is a place for me to have fun and to share that. Therefore, while I’ll be trying my best to fulfill requests and complete any games I’ve started, I don’t want this place to feel like a chore or a heavy responsibility. What I do promise is that any game that I have started a post about will eventually be completed; I can’t bear to leave things undone. That’s all and I hope anyone who passes by enjoys my blog! Please feel free to comment on any page no matter how old it is and I promise that I’ll make an effort to respond to every comment.
