Master List

I’ve rated all the games I’ve played with a rudimentary 5-star system but please feel free to ask me about any of them for more details. Obviously these ratings are very subjective and according to my personal tastes which lean towards story-centric games.

★★★★★ = I will recommend this game to EVERYONE and ANYONE without reservation. I loved it that much.
★★★★☆ = I really liked it but it might not be for everyone (and there are minor issues I have with it).
★★★☆☆ = It was enjoyable.
★★☆☆☆ = It was okay… but your mileage will vary a lot on this.
★☆☆☆☆ = It was a guilty pleasure for something in the game (either art, voices, or wish fulfillment).
☆☆☆☆☆ = I won’t recommend it to anyone. I was tricked or I AM UNBELIEVABLY SALTY ABOUT AN ASPECT OF IT.

Games without a link means that I’ve played it but haven’t written anything about it due to various reasons (there’s a localization, not an otome game, detailed translations are present, etc).

Hi ! Are you interested in games that will come out soon ? Personally I’m looking forward to Nil admirari, 7’s Scarlet and especially Collar X Malice because of Masakazu Morita !

Oh man, am I ever looking forward to some games… though I really shouldn’t be when my backlog is on the verge of burying me under, woops. There are games I know I need to play because they’re super good but I just can’t seem to get around to them (Clock Zero and Ken ga Kimi).

Right now, I’m waiting on more reviews for MoshiKami (c’mon Rejet pull another good one!), which I’ve heard a reviewer say is like Amnesia and BWS. A lot of my friends are interested in Nil Admirari too so I’ve been keeping an eye on it too and it seems interesting + Satoi’s art is gorgeous as usual.

The setting seems interesting for Collar x Malice and, since I’m getting older, I’m very appreciative of the age range for the cast |D;; unfortunately I don’t know who Masakazu Morita is! I seem to have missed all the otome games he was in, aka Sweet Fuse, Jyuuzaengi, and Kiniro no Corda.

I listened to the entire set of Period Cube’s drama CDs and… it’s very tempting. I’m a sucker for MMO themes and it’s like SAO where people get sucked into the game BUT THE BROTHER CHARACTER IS SO GOOD LMAO. I JUST WANT HIS ROUTE. (I’m so tempted to translate the entire drama CD set to hook more people in so I don’t have to be embarrassed when I say I wanna play Period Cube).

Hands down the most anticipated thing for me is Haitaka no Psychedelica though. I’ve been really enjoying Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly (what I’m playing right now) and the fact that Haitaka looks to be a spiritual successor has me caught already. Moreover, have you seen the character designs? Yes please to the medieval setting.

Yeah me too I heard good things about Clock zero and Ken ga Kimi if I could I would play them. I didn’t know MoshiKami but the art is beautiful ^-^ l discovered Period Cube with the site, I like the Bgm.

And for Haitaka no psychedelica I was eager to see the contents so I often checked the site (since I’m really enjoying Kokucho too). It’s beautiful and I’m really curious to see which link there is between the 2 games. I saw that it was a sequel so I expected to see the same characters haha. But that takes place downright in a different period. I really don’t like Hirakawa Daisuke’s voice but on the other hand I’m a fan of Hino Satochi’s voice. But I saw that Hirakawa’s character doesn’t really have a love route so it’s better for me :-D I’m waiting to learn a little more but I think it will also be on my list! I guess I’ll find the translations on your site ?

For Masakazu that’s mean you don’t know Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach (one of his big roles) haha. He’s really a hot and cool character ^-^. I didn’t play the games where he was too and he didn’t make many things in otome world. If you can take a look: vomic.shueisha.co.jp/player/bleach/
and little funny scene: https://youtu.be/nXzPrR4S-Hk (I would have had the same reaction ;-D)
To finish https://youtu.be/k6LCykRfXL8 (one of the most beautiful OST of the serie)

Sorry for all these videos but I had to share them for those who don’t know him haha!

        Ilinox responded:
        March 7, 2016 at 16:43

It looks like Haitaka happens before Black Butterfly or it just adopts some of the same concepts, like how the heroine has a red right eye (much like how Hikage does when he’s revealed his true form, though Black Butterfly never talks about it).

Haha, I was going to play the game purely based on its art and story so I didn’t even look at the seiyuu until now. But dammit I’m a fan of Hino Satoshi and Saito Soma, so they already have me. Hirakawa’s character doesn’t have a love end but it looks like he’ll still have a route so ;;;; I pray that it’s not something as tragic as Hikage’s. I’ll most likely blog about it (as long as I don’t accidentally shove it into my black hole backlog like a lot of other things, oops).

Ooh, yeah! I noticed that he was Ichigo when I looked him up but unfortunately I don’t watch Bleach either |D;; thank you for those videos though! He has a pretty nice voice!

    Hello,

I read your game reviews quite frequently and love how detailed they are, as it is hard finding a decent reviews on the web.

Can I request you to do a review of Hakuouki and Brothers Conflict?

      Ilinox responded:
      December 14, 2014 at 20:41

Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by and leave a comment. Unfortunately, I’m not taking requests right now |D;; but I’m sure there are lots of reviews out for Hakuouki (it’s a pretty old game). I’m not very interested in Brother’s Conflict so I doubt I’ll ever blog about it, sorry! One of my dear friends, Rin from Love-colored Sky, has blogged about the novels though if you’re interested in reading about that!

      December 14, 2014 at 20:39

I’ve been so busy due to work and real life that my playing speed has dropped, as you can see, to a snail’s pace. I’m afraid that if I were to blog Amnesia Crowd it would take years ;;; much like how Amnesia Later has been taking me so long. I think everyone would be much happier if I played the games that have greatly hooked my interest so that I could blog much faster. I may end up returning to Amnesia in the future but for now it’s not very high on my “to blog” list.

Do you know Amnesia’s artist’s name, Hana Awase too if possible?

Hi there! Yes, I believe Hana Awase’s artist is “Yura” and Amnesia’s is “Hanamura Mai”.

Do you think you can do Uta no Prince sama repeat, Amazing Aria, Sweet Serenade and Debut? I’d like to know more about their CGs. Do you also think you can do Brother’s Conflict both Passion Pink and Brilliant Blue? I’d be really happy if you could! :D

It wouldn’t let me reply to your comment, but this is my response ^^ I know what you mean, otome games keep on being released. There’s just so many coming out every year too lol. I follow her blog too and saw her clock zero posts. Unfortunately, while they’re definitely better than nothing, I found that they were rather short. I wouldn’t be able to play the game while reading her posts and understand stuff ^^; Regardless, I appreciate her efforts <3 Hopefully, you'll be able to get to clock zero one day!

And nooo way do you seem obnoxious or anything. Your side comments are hilarious and you're one of the least obnoxious people ever. You're seriously really kind by helping out fans like me be able to play and understand Japanese games! <3 P.S. So excited for Hime-hen to come out; we're all going to drown in pain and tears together haha

its simply amazing that you can do these walkthroughs or translations for us who can’t read them.Thank you! I’ve gone to different websites and such but could never find a good one till now.If possible do you think you could do Renai Banchou: Inochi Meishi, Koiseyo Otome! Love is Power!!! I’d love to finally see someone do it.

Aww, thank you so much for your kind words! I’m not doing anything too special though |D;; a lot of other people are blogging things and translating as well. It just takes some perseverance and a drive to learn another language (ง •̀_•́)ง I believe everyone can do it if they put their minds to it!

Unfortunately, that title isn’t anywhere on my list of things I’m interested in :c so I don’t think I’ll ever blog about it. I can barely keep up with the new releases, ahaha, but in terms of older games that I’m interested in I’m afraid it would just be Clock Zero and the Arcana Famiglia series.

Sorry to but into this conversation ^^; But will you be making your lovely posts on Clock Zero some time in the future? That game has been at the top of my dream list ever since it came out haha, so that would seriously be a dream come true to be able to play and understand it. If I misunderstood though, never mind! Either way, thanks so much for your hard work <3 I just finished reading your subaru post and was able to play his route thanks to that. Your side comments were the cherry on top; they had me laughing quite a few times xD

No problem! I would love to be able to play Clock Zero one day and blog about it |D;; but I keep getting swept up in new releases dsgjkjhfgh it’s too easy to get caught up with all my friends when they’re playing new games. If you really want to play Clock Zero I have this wonderful friend, Rin, who has blogged about it here. She played it when it was still only out on the PS2 though and hadn’t been ported to the PSP yet.

Aww, thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m always so thankful that people seem to enjoy my side comments instead of feeling like they’re obnoxious and intruding on their playing.

Hi! I’m glad you’re playing Ken ga Kimi and umm, I took it you actually like it to certain degree even though it’s not Rejet usual fucked up (awesome) characters that tends to ruin… things.

Anyways! I’m sure you’ve heard of Jooubachi no Oubou a plenty and since you did review the Drama CDs and all, I wonder if you are interested in playing / reviewing the game as well?

A-Actually I’ve been getting through VN and learning Japanese via blogger’s reviews and your past reviews helped me a great deal; HA: Himeutsugi aside since I’m sure you’ll get to that. So I wonder if you’re interested to review JnO as well because if you are, I’d like to pre-order the game lol.

      Ilinox responded:
      February 2, 2014 at 17:58

All my friends have been complimenting Ken ga Kimi’s story so I’m definitely looking forward to completing it and seeing how well it’s made. I don’t have much doubt (if any) in Rejet’s games whether they’re despair-filled or not |D;; Dot Kareshi was ridiculously fun (from the one route I half-went through…).

Hmm, the only Jooubachi CD I reviewed was because of a request but in terms of interest towards the game… I’ll admit that I am a bit interested. The trial seemed to be fun and I’m a fan of political machinations and fighting for thrones so… m-maybe? I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get around to it though since it comes out at the same time as Hime-hen and I’m still finishing Diabolik Lovers, Amnesia Later, and Ken ga Kimi.

(>人<;) If I had a lot more time on my hands then I would definitely be blogging Jooubachi no Oubou, but as it stands I have no idea if I could get around to it in a reasonable amount of time or if ever ;;; If you’re really interested in it then I think it would be alright to go ahead and order it and just wait for a different blogger to cover it.

I hope this helps you decide and it makes me really happy to hear that you find my reviews helpful (〃゚艸゚):;*.

So I came for the Diahell and stayed for everything else.
Your translations are wonderful (at least what I’ve read so far). Since my Japanese skills are next to none, the fact that you spend so much time working on translations means so much to me. I’ve read all the Dialovers (drama cds and routes) that you have and they are the most detailed out of the other ones I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot). Not to mention, you keep the majority of sharing the routes unbiased, so it’s easier to form my own opinion, although the times you do slide your thoughts in there make me really happy because you are wonderful and funny and I love it.

I’m working my way through your amnesia translations while I wait patiently for your next update. Take your time though. I can only imagine how hard and time consuming writing all of this out it. And the wait for your updates is well worth it.
    :D

Thank you so much and keep up the wonderful job

Stop stop ヾ( >﹏<。)ノ゛! You're making me really embarrassed and happy ;;; those are such nice things to say. I like to try and write my posts in a novel-format so that people can draw their own conclusions but of course things are always a bit changed in translations just due to the translator's skill or inherent bias so I'm afraid they're not purely untouched from bias.

I'm really glad you don't mind my occasional comments popping up here and there |D;; sometimes I think I'm just being super dumb with them or making weird jokes but people don't seem to mind it.

Aww, thank you once again for this lovely comment. My speed has definitely been dropping because of work and life in general ;; I'm usually so tired I don't have much time or energy to spend translating some more things but I'm still making some slow progress! Once again, thank you for commenting and I hope you enjoy the rest of my posts <3!

Hey :3 I love the games you play and your translation summaries are just perfection ^_^ I can finally play these games and understand what`s going on too! You`re just fantastic for doing this *hugs*
I had a question. Would you ever consider picking up Death Connection? I would LOVEE to play that game, but alas, not knowing Japanese sucks D: I found brief summaries of the game online, but nowhere near like what you do. So if you did do Death Connection, that would be a dream come true ~
If not though, never mind and thank you for everything else you`ve been doing. It really helps people illiterate in Japanese like me out ♥♥♥

      If possible I'd love to be able to pick up all the games in the world and do what I do with them |D;; unfortunately I can't clone myself to speed up my writing time //sobs. I've heard about Death Connection and it does seem pretty interesting but I don't have any plans on picking it up in the near future ;;;

HOWEVER, I do try to give back to my wonderful readers like you who support me a lot with your comments so from time to time I'd like to try and host giveaway presents and let people pick what they want to see me review _(┐「ε':)_ I'm just currently trucking along through DiaLov from the request last year (//cringes in embarrassment).

Ooh giveaway presents!? I’m excited for your next one then! I know what I’ll be asking for haha xD

Noo don’t cringe in embarrassment! Have your head help up high cause (i know I’ve said this before but) you’re just awesome for doing this <3 Also, I wanna try Diabolik Lovers since you're doing it, but at the same time, I'm scared for all the abuse I've been hearing about. I found the best game ever. It’s translated in English, oh and it costs five dollars. I think you need a really funny game to play, where I can expect A LOT of side comments. Although it makes people go. WTF a lot. Interested?

Are you talking about Hatoful Boyfriend? xD;; if so, I’ve already bought the game kfjhgh although I haven’t gotten around to playing it. I can’t decide if I would blog about it if I did play it, because it’s already translated into English and so people don’t really need me to blog about it ;;; I-I don’t know if my side comments are funny enough to last through the whole game too.

Yes, I was ready to play the game my laptop ready prepared for laughter and WTFery. When I turned it on, my sister had used it and got a virus unable to use it. But everyone needs an escape game. It is proven to be worth it.

    Hi, Ilinox! :3

I would like to express my hearty gratitude on your wonderful effort to summarize the whole story in detailed explanation as it really does help me to understand the routes despite my novice’s Japanese. D:

Since you have played both Amnesia and Shinigami to Shoujo, I was wondering either of which provided a quality story? I was planning to buy either one but uncertain of which will make the best selection.

I see that you are currently playing Beyond the Future. Is it good? ^_^

      Ilinox responded:

      ‘ello Link :D!

Thank you so much for dropping by to make a comment. It’s nice to know that my posts are helping people out and spreading the otome game love 8D.

I think it would depend on what kind of genre/type of game you like best. They’re both really good but Shinigami to Shoujo is more story-driven than romance-driven. It’s very long and very plot-oriented with mystery and supernatural aspects. Amnesia also has a bit of mystery and supernatural parts, but it’s much more romantic than the philosophical questions StS brings up. In short, StS makes you think while Amnesia is more fun/short? I-I hope this helps a bit (^∀^;)?

Yes! Beyond the Future is a very fun game, but unfortunately most of the plot is the same. The main plot is the same no matter what and so it’s very RPG-like in that aspect. Only the scenes with the guy you’re going after change so my playing speed has slowed down unfortunately, plus school is kicking my ass T_T.

Thank you for stopping by~ and I hope you love whichever game you end up deciding on! There is a fandisk for Amnesia coming out in March.. so I’m not sure if that’ll affect your choice.

Oh, I see. Thank you for your feedback, Ilinox! ^_^

In fact, please do write out the juicy details as it successfully bleached out my initial doubts on otome games. I no longer need to worry about not understanding the game as you wonderful reviewers always managed to give a good grasp of the main idea in the story. I will definitely use your StS review as my guide when I play my copy. :3

Indeed, your feedback is truly helpful. From your description, StS sounds like my cup of tea as I always have a penchant for philosophical novels. On the contrary, I don’t think I quite like Amnesia’s premise.

Here I was wondering if BtF has a gripping deep and intricate story… I guess I’ll better savor for another upcoming releases as 2012 seems like a merry year for otome world. C:

Thanks again for your feedback. I’ll be regularly checks out your blog to see if there’s anything that catch my interest. Until then, I wish you well and good luck with your school + otome life! Hoho~ >.<
