Mejojo von Garibaldi (メヨーヨ フォン ガバルディ)
CV: Sakurai Takahiro (櫻井 孝宏)
Mejojo is freakishly possessive and carries a lot of psychological trauma. I could write essays on why this guy probably acts the way he does, but let’s just say he’s not an average guy. He’s the prince and heir to the throne of the kingdom. He’s known as the serious one of the twins, but he has his crazy moments and a burning burning hatred towards wolves.

Sakamaki Reiji (逆巻 レイジ)
CV: Konishi Katsuyuki (小西 克幸)
(PRAISE THE POWERS THAT BE! They actually took a step back from the path this series was going down on and made Reiji so much more lovable. Or maybe I’m just utterly biased towards Konishi’s voice.. Ahh~ but Reiji is such a gentleman that hilariously enough I started to get offended at how much self-control he had. I was actually going “HOW ARE YOU RESISTING THE HEROINE’S MARY SUE POWERS (屮ﾟДﾟ)屮“.
Notes about the translation: His keigo, or way of speech, is bloody hard to translate so just keep in mind that he talks and acts very politely, kind of like a butler! At the beginning he tells the heroine to sit seiza-style, which is why it’s so painful. I translated that part as “kneel” since it sounds weird in English to demand someone to sit seiza-style).
I know I know, I should be working on translations or summaries for games, but this was too interesting to pass up (＞人＜;)! My fellow podcaster, Suri from kisscoma, and I have noticed the recent trend of sadistic otome games and the polarized responses from players and fans. Because of this we started discussing the topic of sadism with each other, but 140 words on twitter made it near impossible (plus we were starting to spam the timeline and so we needed to gtfo ;;).
This post will feature the outline of our podcast and the general topic headings of what we touched on. I’m sure we missed a lot of points and since Suri and I held the same view, it might not have been the most optimal discussion. So I definitely encourage anyone and everyone to comment below and add to the discussion or give feedback about our first podcast. The only rules are to remain polite and respectful.
Sakamaki Laito (逆巻 ライト)
CV: Hirakawa Daisuke (平川 大輔)
(From what I heard in his premium corner, I was looking forward to a playful flirt after Kanato but instead what I got was.. well.. this. Laito is insanely abusive. INSANELY. He’s also delusional and even more full of himself than Ayato.. This series is just plummeting into the land of the crazy, especially since this CD is full of dub-con. Reader discretion is advised.
I don’t recommend taking my translation as gospel for what Laito says either, because it’s difficult to get his implications across. Especially the line at 28:40, where he’s talking about how she lives. He’s not saying it in a tone of “the requirement to live here is..” It’s more like he’s pointing out that that’s the way she’s living in their house. Once again implying that she’s a… loose woman).
Sena Airi (瀬名 愛理)
CV: Ono Ryoko (小野 涼子)
(I’m sorry for not having updated lately, but I’ve realized that I’m tired of otome games. They’re all the same with your tsunyankuudere guys. All those bishies, wall pinnings, vampires, and whatnot are so boring! So then I decided to turn to eroges and OMG THEY’RE SO FUN!! I just finished this route and I’m convinced! From now on this blog will only have eroge reviews!)
This route is all about Airi, the poster girl. She’s a capable rich oujousama, all about being independent and she goes to an all girls school, because she hates all men, at the start of the game. She and Shingo’s sister go to the same school and this leads to her meeting with Shingo!
This will feature all of Beyond the Future’s bad ends. I’m making a post for it because I’m a completionist and Beyond the Future has a completion percentage as well as CGs for its bad ends щ(ಥДಥщ).
Not that it really matters since apparently the completion percentage counts every single line you’ve seen, even the ones that aren’t listed down as a “scene”. So I’ve completed all the scenes, yet I’m not technically completed because of these missing lines. But I give up since it’ll just piss me off to try and collect them. I can’t believe I’m at 91.17%.
Also, my bb Suri-chan was lovely enough to summarize the official short stories that can be found on Beyond the Future’s website. You can find her translations HERE.
Camus Tetra Porte (カミュ テトラ ポルテ)
CV: Suzuki Yuuto (鈴木 裕斗)
Camus is Lilith’s childhood friend and the two of them have a very strong bond, because Camus has been with her since the time she was a small baby in Dodona. For Camus, Lilith is the first person to treat him as if he were someone important and needed since as a baby she wouldn’t let go of him and cried whenever he tried to leave. Optimistic and mischievous, he’s very protective of Lilith.
(Finally the last route! This long and painful journey has finally ended ヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ!! Although I will still need to summarize the bad ends, but they should be faster than the routes at the very least.)
Sakamaki Kanato (逆巻 カナト)
CV: Kaji Yuuki (梶 裕貴)
(Here’s Kanato.. the psychotically insane screaming satanic demon baby Σ(＾∀＾;).. while I loved Kaji Yuuki’s voice and range in the CD, I absolutely loathe Kanato’s character. I wish I could have set his teddy bear on fire and kicked it out a window.
Also, I’m sorry for the lower quality of this translation but his long monologues were really difficult to understand Orz. His way of speaking is really difficult to get across as well, it’s like sarcastically polite).
Soo Majiku (ソー 真軸)
CV: Yoshino Hiroyuki (吉野 裕行)
Soo is a.. ridiculously idiotic character. Everyone else in the world and party calls him that and he even calls himself that. However, a more correct term for him would be an idiot savant. He thinks of himself as a jack of all trades, because he’s proficient at everything but he doesn’t need to expend any effort into it. He’s very kind though in a brotherly way.
(Let’s see if I can make this the quickest summary yet and to try and use just one line for every major plot point.)
Nayuta Roen (ナユタ ローエン)
CV: Fujiwara Yuuki (藤原 祐規)
Nayuta is the captain of the Holy Knights of Ingrid which makes him quite strict and harsh to everyone, including himself, as well as being very religious. However, underneath his seemingly cold exterior is a very passionate and kind man inside. He can be a bit of a bully towards Lilith, but he respects her as the Saint. The two of them find common ground in the fact that they’re both faithful to their gods.
(An even more speedier summary of the whole game is coming up, since if people have been following my posts on this game up to now I’m betting they’re really tired of reading the same scenes again and again (/ω＼). Here’s to saving the world for the fourth time!)
Nico Velvetnine (ニコ ヴェルヴェットナイン)
CV: Kishio Daisuke (岸尾 だいすけ)
(Ahh, I’m really really sorry for how long this took to get out. My school semester is terrifying in its work load. For once my post is almost a reasonable length too, haha).
His favorite words are “.. because I’m a great sage” and it’s used to excuse him from anything he does and to explain everything that he does. His true nature and motives for joining the party remain a mystery to everyone, but he still manages to get close to the party in his own way. Everyone makes fun of him for being the suspicious, shady, evil-looking guy though. It doesn’t help his image when he always laughs sinisterly and tries his best to tease Lilith. Nico acts like.. one big troll.
(Nico shares the same choices and route as Nate up to the point where Nate asks Lilith why she saved the wolf pup in the desert. And so I’m just going to start Nico’s route from there. If curious about the details leading up to the diverge then readers can look at Nate’s post.)
Sakamaki Ayato (逆巻 アヤト)
CV: Midorikawa Hikaru (緑川 光)
(I don’t normally do Drama CD translations, mainly because my Japanese is definitely not good enough. I’m not able to give a word-for-word account of what is happening, but I can understand the general gist of it. Anyway, the Diabolik Lovers series seems to be quite popular and I have a few of my friends who want me to translate these CDs for them.
So, I figured since I slaved over it on notepad I might as well share what I have with everyone else as well. These won’t be common though because this blog is still mainly focused towards otome games. Also, if you want to correct any mistakes please feel free to comment. (＾∀＾;) There’s probably a lot).
Kirite Asturias (キリテ アストリアス)
CV: Sakurai Takahiro (櫻井 孝宏)
What can I say? I definitely feel like Kirite is the canon route of the story. His character and past is immaculately intertwined with the main plot and his personality seems to mesh with Lilith’s personality perfectly. They bring out the best in each other and their affection for one another is very pure and earnest. Kirite is terrible at showing his emotions and talking but he manages to show his kindness through many small gestures that Lilith manages to pick up on. PLUS SAKURAI’S VOICE IS SEXY WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID?
(Since I basically wrote out the whole common route in Nate’s route, Kirite’s post will only have a rough outline of their adventure. This allows me to make the post shorter and focus more of my attention on the details in Kirite’s individual scenes. Therefore if readers want more details about the adventure and group interactions then they should read Nate’s route.)
Nate Su-ru-ya (ネイト スールーヤ)
CV: Masuda Toshiki (増田 俊樹)
He’s a werewolf assassin, but despite his scary sounding job he’s a quite a relaxed and collected character. He enjoys teasing the other characters and doesn’t have a problem in protecting the heroine. However, because he’s a werewolf he has some problems with understanding and dealing with humans. He’s completely inexperienced with love too and so he blushes and stammers a lot. Overall, while I loved him for his tail and ears his story wasn’t as romantic as I was expecting. But this game has amazing character development and it was completely heartwarming seeing how he developed. Personally, I like his good ending better than his best one.
