Chapter Four: The Upset Demon
Emotionally, she was planning on challenging the 16 paintings through the night, but she was stopped by John in less than an hour.
“No, it is cold here. We should return to our rooms now.”
Saying that, he forcibly took Riz out of the Room of Peace.
“Wait, I heard that believers come to worship in the morning. If that’s the case, then we can only check these at night.”
“If you collapse then everything will come to nothing.”
“I won’t die from just collapsing once.”
It wasn’t expressed on her face but Riz was impatient. She wanted to find the demon who killed Petron as soon as possible.
“If this continues you’ll end up being falsely charged.”
She appealed to a stubborn John as they exited the narrow corridor they passed through in the day and walked past the columns built in the center of the cathedral.
“Just give me fifteen more minutes.”
Chapter Three: The Phony Angel
Two days later, thin clouds spread through the sky like a veil covering the face of a maiden.
John visited the mansion before noon and, as promised, negotiated with Virma and snatched away the permission for Riz to go outside. Even though he was poor at talking, when the time came for it, he was strong at negotiations. Riz wondered what his secret was.
In the afternoon of that day, she hurriedly left the mansion together with John before Virma could change her mind. That said, it was only John who ran around in order to prepare their luggage.
For Riz, she was quickly assigned to “be good and drink tea” by John and was chased out of her room without being given any time to object.
Riz’s older sister, Grace, appeared when Riz was drinking tea in the lounge and reflecting on her loneliness. Grace quickly went on and on about how a lady shouldn’t be going on a trip for a week and what would she do if she were attacked by burglars, but what it all came down to was her contrary sister seeming to be concerned about Riz’s health.
When Riz pointed this out, and thanked Grace, she was yelled at. Her sister’s moods were extreme.
The person who came next after Grace was her eldest brother with wanderlust, Daniel.
It was said that he suddenly returned to the mansion. Because Riz took her breakfast in her room, she hadn’t noticed her brother’s arrival.
Daniel, upon seeing Riz, lit up and broke into a smile. Riz thought he was like a sunflower.
Chapter Two: The Midnight Clandestine Meeting
After dinner the maids prepared Riz’s bed and left the room.
The time was around nine at night. It was later than the time she usually slept.
A yawn leaked out but her mind was clear. Riz rolled over on top of her bed and lay face down.
The full-blown social season was about to begin. For the majority of aristocrats who were busy playing at love it was the time for victory or defeat; however, it had no relation to Riz who would grow dizzy with just one dance.
She was exploring solutions here and there to save John when a small clunk echoed.
Saijou Touji (西条 凍時)
—The real despair begins from here.
On her way home, the heroine was suddenly abducted, confined, and raped by Saijou Touji.
She wondered if her confined life was going to continue forever like this and let herself be assaulted as if she gave up, but on that day— Touji, who was in an exceedingly good mood, abruptly told her “We’re going to get a blessing for marriage today”.
The heroine was placed in a car, all the while feeling baffled.
For it was said their destination was the heroine’s home.
She held a fleeting hope that she would finally be free, but Touji had completely removed any obstacles in the way of his objective and began to talk to her kindhearted father with the face of an agreeable young man.
These circumstances, where she could only be trapped in a warped love, were days of despair, crueler than anything else in this world.
Big thank you to Criy – “bcuz even I need sleep” for the commission and dragging me back into the Kankinkon world! This is the sequel to Ryoujoku no Hibi and continues Touji’s story. It can be considered the second volume in the whole Kankinkon series. You can pick it up on the English DLsite or the Japanese DLsite.

Saijou Touji (西条 凍時)
Touji: That goddamn old man! He’s still moving!? When is that poison going to take effect!?
T: Ah, apologies! I’m just speaking to my secretary about work. I’m not angry, so come here. If you won’t come… then I’ll go over there. *comes over* I’m sorry for scaring you. But just be patient for four more days. After four days… I won’t let anyone get in my way anymore.
